Ghost Machine Title.

Rachel, Roland, Rodney, Rosie, Richie, Rae and Rex the dog are thrown back to present day Earth to protect....a weird looking thing!
Lots of rip roaring fun...I kind of liked how the family wasn't put out too much by being in present day compared to where they came from.

I already really enjoy Geiger and Junkyard Joe, and just started Redcoat, and will read Rook: Exodus, soon, as well. The Ghost Machine titles I've read have all been very solid. I actually didn't know about this one until I finally got around to reading the #1 issue where there were a bunch of short introductions to the storylines the label will carry. Of the ones I wasn't familiar with, this is the one I went after.

I like the family dynamic, sort of a modern "Lost In Space" type of tale. This issue adds a lot more intrigue to the basic story that was set up in Ghost Machine #1. There's more emotional weight from the grandmother, Rosemary, for sure, and the threat to the family is fleshed out as opposed to just being mentioned. I have high hopes for this title, as it seems it will be a lighter tone than the others from this line, and I like what I see so far.

This was an excellent start to a new series. Tomasi delivers a strong introduction to this new family, and Manapul’s artwork is nothing short of breathtaking, especially in the time-travel sequences and futuristic technology designs. I also appreciate the addition of Roland, whose strong stache (big fan) gives him an instantly memorable presence.
The issue does a great job setting up both the stakes and the scope of this new universe. Without giving too much away, I will mention that there’s a significant character death very early on. While it certainly raises the tension, I think the moment could have been even more impactful had we been given more time to connect with the characters beforehand.
That said, I had a lot of fun with this first installment, and I’m eager to see where the story goes from here. A strong recommendation so far.

Decent Lost in Space like family adventure comic with above-average art and a seemingly wholesome if not too wholesome family oriented story that is told from two different time perspectives 400 years apart.

It’s the first Ghost Machine Family Odysseys book I’ve read and I enjoyed it. The table has been set. On with the show…

So note-perfect that it's almost too good, and so perpetually propelled that I'm not sure I quite enjoyed it.

What a strange assessment.
