4 stars. This was dramatic and I mean that in a good way. Kathy and Ava really have a lot of work to do to get their HEA. I liked Ava a lot but it took a while for me to warm up to Kathy. She was so serious and hard to read all the time. I also didn't like that she took no accountability for her part in the third act break up. Everything fell onto Ava which didn't seem right to me. I wish she would've opened up and softened more because I feel like we never got to know her. She and Ava did have really good chemistry though and I thought the smut was hot as hell. The ending and epilogue were both super adorable as well. Really good read.

Nope

This wasn't a second chance romance. It was a total disaster. Until the last 10% of the story, not one character treated any of the other characters with anything that even remotely looked like respect. I kept expecting it to change but it never did. How these two characters ended up together at the end is beyond me.

It’s about as in depth as you can get with an under 200 page romance. Things moved quickly, and ended quickly. The main character, Ava, is incredibly toxic and can’t take no for an answer, which is romanticized in this book.

A Great Story

Is it Love Understanding or Understanding Love? This book has both positions covered. Our two main characters have a lot of love and they get to a lot of understanding but it takes work. And the story is wonderfully interesting along the way. Well worth reading.

It was not because it was short, i just was not a huge huge fan. The plot was very all over the place.

This book seems like it's the author's first time writing a novel. The characters were kind of flat, it barely had a plot, and the third act breakup was a bad attempt at the miscommunication trope.
