The maps shown seem most of the time like a random collection of unrelated information. The introduction talks about connecting maps from the earth with star charts, but we don't see anything like that.
The book is very light on the text. While expected from an atlas, the maps don't speak for themselves either. The information given ranges from so basic you don't learn anything from it to condensing key concepts to the point that you won't understand it.
Still 2 stars instead of 1 thanks to the great foreword by Andre Kuipers and the introduction by the writers with what they wanted to achieve with this book.
And because they also try to show how different cultures around the world saw the sky. Too limited to give it a higher rating, but a nice attempt.

Choix des thématiques pas toujours compréhensible, qui donne une impression de fourre-tout ; schémas pas toujours clairs, textes parfois redondants. On sent que ça creuse le filon le plus possible, et qu'on commence à toucher le fond.

Excellent à lire, parfait ouvrage de référence à consulter selon le besoin.
Les cartes récapitulatives des satellites, télescopes et autres missions récentes sont uniques, permettant de trouver en un seul coup d'œil les informations souvent dispersées dans d'autres sources.

Super livre magnifiquement bien fait et sublimement illustré sur l astronomie, l espace et sa decouverte. En avoir une copie dedicacee par Pierre Lena est un super bonus
