Veil of Dreams

Rate this book
I tell myself by day she's nothing more than a dream...
...But I pray by night that I'm wrong.

I am an Orc Warrior who commands his own crew.
We sail the seas looking for treasure.
I've had many adventures, but now it's my past returning to haunt me.
Strange dreams of an enslaved woman.
A female so beautiful I don't want to wake up.

And an unexplainable pull that keeps me coming back.

I know she's in trouble.
I'm determined to rescue her.
To find out who she is.
And when I do, I will claim her for myself.

And all my dreams will come true.

"You will find her," she says, her voice filled with conviction. "And when you do, you will know what you must do."

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the concept of two fated mates dreaming of each other before they even meet. I loved both Gorthak and Cassia. Both plagued by dreams- she tormented by dark elves and some form of her master, and he seeing an enslaved woman defying them, but unable to rescue her- so much so that they are tired during the day and those around them know something is off. I liked the air of mystery to the story- especially surrounding Cassia. Is she a maid or a slave? The others say the Master has always been fair to them, but is it true? Why can't she remember her past?

I only wish she didn't talk to herself out loud so much. It made her seem unhinged to me when she kept talking out loud and making people around her uncomfortable.

This is my favorite collab by these authors. 5 stars.

Gorthak and Cassia. They met in their dreams. A seer told him his dreams are not dreams but real. Shes a slave to a dark elf who doesnt have her memories only dreams. Shes also having nightmares involving her elf master that are coming to fruition. Shes drowning in horror and mistreatment. When they finally meet he knows this is his mate. Lies are uncovered. Secrets are revealed. WOW what a great journey to each other. Entertaining and intriguing.

Back to those green guys! Another lovely quick read for me by this lovely author who always blesses her readers with so many yummy hero's.
We meet Gorthak the Orc, who is having dreams of woman. That's Cassia, a slave. She too is having dreams of him. This tells of Gorthak's journey to find her and rescue her.

This book takes a unique twist in the world of Protheka! The author plays with the lines between reality and dreams, making me wonder who really holds the reins of the story. It’s such an intriguing journey!.
