Mistletoe and Memories

Rate this book
A sweet, uplifting small-town holiday romance that celebrates the bonds between family and the magic of the season. Settle in by the light of the Christmas tree and get swept away to this charming mountain town!

It’s another holiday season in Evergreen Hollow, and as snow falls gently outside and the scent of sugarplum fills the air, the Stoker family is as busy as ever!

With Nora and Caroline both married, and Margo head over heels for Spencer, everyone thinks it will only be a matter of time before wedding bells ring again. But when Margo seems to get a bit restless in the small town, Spencer worries that she may be itching to return to her old jet-setting life. He was planning to propose to her at Christmas, but he starts to question whether he should.

Nora and Aiden are adjusting to life as new parents, and they adore their baby girl, Madison—but they’re struggling a bit from lack of sleep, especially when their schedule gets knocked off track. Meanwhile, Caroline has a secret she’s anxious to share with Rhett, but she can’t seem to find the right time.

And although a health scare threatens to upend the holidays, it also serves as a reminder of what matters

The strength of family, and the enduring bonds of love.

A bit too much hand-wringing

I really like this family, and I like the story. I almost never skim passages (and not to give a spoiler), but I got tired of reading about Caroline's worries about her dilemma over and over and over, when we all knew how it would end.

Favorite characters, but dialogue seemed to be the same, just repeated over and over. That being said for this book, I do love Fiona Baker and will continue to read her books.

Few grammatical errors in this book and the others in the series on Kindle Unlimited. Jay's age changed throughout the stories but not in sequence of how the timeline progressed for others.
From book 1 to this, 2 years have lapsed. Caroline was supposedly 44 in book 1 so the "plot" of her story in this book doesn't make much sense biologically...

Love it!!

I'm enjoying the series...but can the author please let up on the lip biting!! I was surprised they hadn't chewed holes in their lips. Goodness gracious stop them from running their hands through their hair, they will be bald before the series end.

2.5* Quick, light holiday read. This one was cheesier and harder to believe than the previous ones. The whole series would really benefit from an editor. The child (Jay) that was introduced in book 2 at nine years old is somehow eight years old in this book, two years later. yes, he has a pimple, a crush on a girl, and gets up early to make peppermint bark for his crush? Those are actions more likely of an eleven year old so I actually flipped back to see if his aunt referred to him as eight years old and yes, she did. Then there's the newly married woman who's apparently not using birth control but can't figure out why she's queasy and SO tired, and her doctor sends her to the big city OB/GYN instead of doing a simple pregnancy test in the office? Don't get me started on the inappropriate foods that the mom is giving to the five month old! (FRIES?!!) Oh well, I may as well finish the last book in the series!!

This fourth book in the Evergreen Hollow Christmas series centers on the Stoker parents, Rhonda and Donovan. Planning on a special vacation to California, the couple must first deal with a health problem. Caroline and Rhett, Nora and Aiden and Margo and Spencer are a support system for each other and the elder Stokers. I don't want to reveal any of the "nitty-gritty", but the story and the problems each daughter faces, once again reveal how strong family bonds should be. Once again, Fiona Baker deftly presents a beautiful picture of small town life.

growing pains

As the 3 Stoker daughters settle in, every one has challenges and changes as their lives grow. I can relate to baby Madison as I hear how my new grandson is trying to sleep through the night. Finding that key to sleep is critical, but I thought Nora would ask mom or a sister to watch baby so she could sleep! That is real family support or one of them knowing her exhaustion offer to watch Madison! Margo still worries me about being settled and I am interested in how Caroline’s family changes too.

I I love reading a series of books about the same people.

I just downloaded the last in the series. I’ve read the books one after the other. They make me want to visit Vermont.
Just a couple of thoughts for the editors. Cleveland gets a lot of snow, especially the east side. Penguins aren’t found in the Arctic. Only in the southern hemisphere.
Other than that I have really enjoyed the series. I need to head to bed but the last book is calling!

Planning a surprise

I enjoyed this book although Margo showed her stubbornness and Carolyn over thought things. This is the story of the sisters planning a surprise for their parent's anniversary.
