Rachel Higginson is the best-selling author of The Five Stages of Falling in Love, Every Wrong Reason, Bet on Us and The Star-Crossed Series.
She was born and raised in Nebraska, and spent her college years traveling the world. She fell in love with Eastern Europe, Paris, Indian Food and the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka, but came back home to marry her high school sweetheart. Now she spends her days writing stories and raising five amazing kids.
This was a great find for pennies! I was introduced to several authors that I have never heard of, but have since devoured many of their books. Starbright did not really spark my interest, though I did read it. It was okay. The premise was just something I wasn't into at the time. My favorites out of this list are: Shelly Crane, Lila Felix ( I was surprised that I enjoyed this so much since it was not paranormal, but awesome roller derby....don't pass this one by), Jamie Magee, Quinn Loftis (absolutely amazing) and A.M. Hargrove (I've read the Guardians of Vesturon a few times...including the spin-offs!!). As you can see, I liked almost all of them. Amber Garza has a good series too. I like M. Leighton, but the series doesn't continue, which was a little sad, because her material was promising as well. I will eventually reread Starbright to see if it was just me or if I just didn't like the book.
* Starbright by Rachel Higginson * Collide by Shelly Crane * Madly by M. Leighton * Love and Skate by Lila Felix * See (See #1) by Jamie Magee * Coexist by Julia Crane * Dazzle by Amber Garza * Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis * Survival by A.M. Hargrove * Masquerade by Cambria Heber
I originally had this as one of my Kindle Unlimited books but wound up buying it when the time on my subscription ran out. For only $3.99 it was a steal for 10 books. Some of the stories are very good and some were okay, especially since I'm not really a fan of the Young Adult genre. There seems to be some formatting errors that run through almost all of the books where there is no space after a period before the new sentence begins and some places where there should be blank lines in between chapters. Since this happened to multiple authors, I think it is something that happened when the books were made into a set and is no one author's fault. If you can ignore those errors and you like YA then this is a great box set for you.
The Little Black Book is a series of books, all with a super natural theme. The books range from good to excellent...most were excellent. I eagerly await the arrival of their next contribution. Well worth the time to read.
