Vengeful Promises

I grabbed the wrong bag at the airport carousel.... and then made a deal with the devil from my darkest fantasies.
Picked out a dress. Accepted his ring.
Walked down the aisle under the watchful eyes of more killers than I can count.
And became his wife.

I resolved to keep my heart shut from him.
Until this marriage of convenience took an unexpected turn…
And became something very real.

And just as I started to believe in how real it is, he did something unforgivable.

Something that reminded me the kind of monster he was.
Something that reminded me that I was a fool for trusting him.
Something that reminded me that our world should’ve never crossed.

It’s too late now to back out now.
Because as he promised me when he shackled me with the ring on his
He’ll never let me go.

Ugh this one was a struggle to finish. I swear that the end half of this book was written by someone else. The dialogue was beyond cheesy and the storyline felt disjointed. The spicy scenes started to drag on and just felt redundant. Plus at one point Emily says “I don’t want to stop I’m a pleasure machine”. Hard no. I had to stop reading.

I basically forced myself to finish this. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because of the beginning. Everything that happened at Capri had a lot of depth and gave the characters more interest. I really like Alisa and then poof she was gone from the story.

I also find it hard to believe that Alla just accepted that she had to leave and never come back. I loved the way that entire situation was handled though. From her guards being shot out back to Konstantin having Emily decide what to do with Alla and then Sima telling Emily to call her by his diminutive name. That was a great scene!

When he goes BACK to NY despite knowing it is a terrible idea made my eyes roll. You’re literally the head of the bratva and you thought rolling up somewhere you are not allowed and then not checking in with the people who don’t want you there was a good idea? Maybe just a courtesy call or checkin, they’re going to find out you’re there anyway!

Emily’s parents are straight garbage and I loved how that was handled with them. The dinner scene where they had to pay for themselves was perfect.

Having loved the first book, I struggled with this one. There just didn't seem to be enough of a storyline to keep it gripping me. I didn't find myself eager to pick it up. I did however love the dynamic that developed between Emily and Konstantin. Very different to read.

Phenomenal conclusion to Konstantin & Emily’s story!! This was perfect & I enjoyed every minute of it. I flew through both books in a day & I have to say these two are one of my favorite book couples. They had such amazing chemistry & the spice was beyond hot. Oh my god I can’t even begin to say how hot the scenes w/these two were. One of my favorite moments was when Konstantin gave Emily complete control, that was incredibly sexy to see him do that. He is truly a gem of a man. Every promise he made to Emily he kept & he was so good hearted. I really loved how he was w/her. I kinda wished Alla would’ve met her demise, but I gave Emily a lot of respect for how she handled that situation.
This was yet again another fantastic duet f/Brook. It’s packed w/action, suspense, drama, love, & a lot spice!! And I loved that there was no cheating or any ow drama- none! Everything was perfect & a very enjoyable read!

Book 2 in the series

We pick up from the cliffhanger at the end of book 1

Will Konstintin and Emily get their HEA?

What I really like is the growth between the couple especially as Emily begins to find herself, standing up to Alla, her own parents and learning to trust her husband.

A great ending to a great series
I just love the whole touch her and die vibe and the Bratva definitely delivers on that.

Vengeful Promises is book two of the Siderov duet and jumps right back into the action as Emily finds herself in deep trouble while Konstantin rushes to save not only his sister but the love of his life too.

“I know what her heart says even if there’s not a single word exchanged between us.”

What I loved about this book was the character growth, for both Konstantin and Emily. Konstantin finally becomes Pakhan in the most powerful way and claims his rightful throne however what he gains even more in this book is true love. The balance that he struggled with in book one becomes stable as he fully submits himself to being a better husband and seeing his grandmother for who she truly is, EVIL. It is so evident that Konstantin would do absolutely anything for his love and it’s really nice to read a non-toxic Bratva Pakhan who is more grounded and family based.

Emily on the other hand grows exponentially. Once a delicate and scared pushover, she grows into an amazing Pakhan’s wife, powerful in her own right and learns to put herself above others. She accepts Konstantin’s love as pure and loves deeply back. As they grow into a strong and happy couple, I loved seeing them flourish in their roles and devotion to each other.

“Love doesn’t need something to offer”

The spice was spicy, the feelings were full of emotion, and the plot was excellent. Everyone got what they deserved and in the end, Emily gained a proper family that loved her so it was an incredibly satisfying end. I wish I could have gotten an epilogue to see Olivia a little more but I can’t complain, I enjoyed this duet wayyyy too much.

Brook Wilder always comes out with the best romances and it’s always fun to see what new worlds she creates next.

This book starts exactly where the last left off. Emily was leaving trying to get away from Alla, Konstantin’s grandmother who has been nothing short of cruel to Emily from the moment they met.

Emily is at the hands of Domenico & she meets Konstantin’s sister too. It doesn’t take long for him to find out where she is & rescue the both of them.

And thankfully not long after they get back to Croatia, Konstantin finds out exactly how bad his grandmother treated Emily & they dole out the punishment. So happy about that, that woman was absolutely awful.

But getting to see them finally open up to one another was sweet because they did fit with one another so well.

But also getting to see them stand up to her parents was so justified too.

All of the craziness that follows was stress inducing, with Konstantin doing everything he could to protect Emily.

Overall, through all of the crazy, Emily & Konstantin grow closer & fall even more for each other.

This was such a good yet crazy story that definitely had me hooked from the very beginning.

Amazing job!

What an exciting conclusion to Konstantin and Emily's story!!! There was so much more intrigue and suspense intertwined throughout the whole story. Plenty of action and plenty of spice.

I liked that Emily was stronger and had more of a backbone. She really grew as a character and stepped up to the plate. She matured exponentially and I loved how she was with Konstantin's sister.

Konstantin was still just as sweet as ever. Perfect book boyfriend material! I loved that he stood up for Emily and did whatever was needed to keep her safe. I loved that he was so in tune with his feelings and wasn't ashamed of showing Emily how much she means to him.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were fun and had great banter. It was exciting and entertaining from start to finish. There were some edge of your seat moments where I was nervous about how things would turn out. Overall a very well done story and I would recommend it!

An incredibly powerful and beautiful conclusion to the Siderov Bratva duet!!!
Konstantin and Emily finally get to a point where they can believe a future between them could be possible but one member of the household belittles, threatens and intimidates Emily at every turn.
When Emily is kidnapped, Konstantin realizes how much he loves her and he will keep his promise to protect her. When he finds Emily and his sister he thinks that everything will work out, until a trusted staff member tells him much needed truths.
When betrayals are revealed Konstantin discovers that Emily may be a common woman not born to his way of life but she holds herself and those around her with respect and reigns like a queen.
I really enjoyed the twist and turns, the heartwarming moments between Konstantin and Emily and the profound sense of personal connection between these highly fascinating, interesting and passionate characters.
This story is simply outstanding and wonderfully written.

Can love be unconditional?

This is book two in the Siderov Bratva duet and the rest of Emily and Konstantin's story. Emily has seen first hand all her life that love is conditional. You have to be a good daughter and put everyone else's happiness ahead of your own or they won't love you. When Konstantin proposes that they have a fake marriage in order for him to get his inheritance this makes him just another person in her life who's "love" is conditional. Can Konstantin prove to Emily that he wants a real marriage and a real wife? Can he show her that she will always come first even before the Bratva and that his love is truly unconditional?

This is book 2 in the Siderov Bratva series and must be read in order. It picks up right where book one's cliffhanger stopped.
The first part of the book was pretty good, but I got very bored with the excessively sloppy sex scenes. I ended up DNFing at 47% because I just didn't care anymore. At the point I stopped there were still several plot holes open and I just didn't like the main characters anymore.

I may read more of Brook Wilder's work because I am intrigued with her story line styles, but this particular series wasn't my cup of tea.

Promises

Emily decided she had no choice but to stay. Once Konstantine realized what Emily has been going through, he changed and was determined at all cost to protect her from anyone who wanted to cause her harm. He was determined to put his family first.

This 2nd book was excellent. It was about building trust. Finding a ways not to keep who they were, but do what they had to do to protect themselves.

Vengeful Promises

Vengeful Promises by Brook Wilder is the second book in Siderov Bratva series.
Constantin has married Emily to try to protect his kidnapped sister by taking all the power behind the Siderov Bratva when his horrible grandmother finally gives him the Signet ring.
Their HEA is hard won but leaves the feeling of calm, hope and peace upon reading the last word. Perfect.,,

This was so much worse.

I skimmed literally every single sex scene - which I normally wouldn’t but omfg they were always so drawn out and it felt like it was 75% of the book.
By the end I totally skipped them all together.

Emily’s parents being gold diggers was a nice touch, took her too long to tell them to shut tf up

A great conclusion to this duet. I loved how the story unfolded and how both MC characters become more open and honest about everything. Emily grew a backbone with her parents

I loved this story. Emily found the power within herself and with Konstantin's help. She stopped being a person doing things to please everyone else. Konstantin showed growth by not only being a Pakan but also showing Emily that she came first. He showed her what love really was.

Expected

This book is a bit trite and had an anticipatory outcome. It was a page turner in the fact that the climax was unnecessarily drawn out by several chapters and then rushed to get to its ending.

This was fine. I honestly skimmed a lot of the ending because it was just the same plot. Catching Domenico was so short and didn’t feel needed. I liked both Konstantin and Emily but something was off for me.

Vengeful Promises

This is the 2nd book in the series and I am rating it the same as book 1 with a 3.5. I thought the book was okay but didn’t give me the wow factor that I was looking for.

Unique

I loved this duet with its unique meet cute to the drama and romance. The only thing I would change is some repetitive phrases, but that’s a minor detail.
