When I agreed to interview Alexis, all I knew was that she was a recent college grad looking for some summer work.
When she walks into my office, I’m struck by her beauty. There’s no way I can have her living under my roof. She’s pure temptation.
There’s just one problem… after being picky during my interviews, I now need someone to start next week. I have no choice but to hire her.
I just need to keep my distance.
It shouldn’t be hard. Life has made me a cold, bitter man. These days, distance is all I know.
But there’s something in her effortless smile, constant compassion for those around her… and those luscious lips. I feel my resolve weaken day by day, until it vanishes.
After one night with her, I know I’m in trouble.
I finally start to open my heart up to love again.
What happens when I find myself faced with an impossible decision? My happiness… or hers.
Author of spicy romance novels! Lover of dogs, wine, and coffee. Loves to write books that pull at your heartstrings but never leave out the dirty parts!
The best way to describe the MMC is condescending, cheesy, snobby, annoying, overly horny asshole. No wonder his ex-wife left him. I would too. Bro is insufferable.
(Btw I don’t care how cheap a sandwich is, you do not throw away perfectly good food.)
The constant sexualizing of the FMC was dreadful to read. Like give it a rest bro, we get it. She has a nice body.
Everything and anything makes this man’s dick twitch. Sounds like he might need to pay a visit to the doctor…
If you don’t know how to write kids speech or mannerism than don’t add kids to your story. Because this 4yo had a very impressive vocabulary. Haven’t heard many 4yo speak like rich annoying snobby adults before.
The smut was so cringy and over the top. There was no chemistry between the characters, just awkward.
The ending was so dumb. Why did she act like he killed her cat?? (She doesn’t have a cat) She was so shattered because the man said follow your dreams. Such a ridiculous reason to get upset over.
Anyway, I managed to finish it so congratulations to me!
🤍 Celibate heroine 🤍 Hero had flings in the past 🤍 Single dad (4 year old girl ) 🤍 Nanny 🤍 Age gap ( 21 l 35 ) 🚩 no cheating or sharing, no major OW/OM ( just jealousy)
‘I just don't know where I belong. It feels like I have no sense of direction, no idea where I should settle down. I guess that's the feeling you get when no one is there waiting for you.’
‘I want to be her armor through life, protecting her from the people who don't appreciate her like they should.’
🍷 First person dual POV 🍷 First in series (can be read as stand alone) 🍷 Wine connoisseur / Summer nanny 🍷 Age gap 🍷 Insta attraction 🍷 Well established secondary characters for future books; Gabriel’s siblings, Sienna 😍 🍷 Grovelling (needed more…) 🍷 Spice (‘good girl’) 🍷 MC growth; sex positivity, self worth, risking a relationship. 🍷 Epilogue
🚩 Ample typos/grammatical errors 🚩 FMC jokes that feminism is a bad thing 🚩 Resolution required a lot more fleshing out and actual communication
Nicole Baker’s new Giannelli Series kicks off with a sexy age-gap, single-dad romance. While I really enjoyed her previous Brady series, I’m loving this new cast of characters and the ambiance and vibe she’s established with the Giannelli siblings. Also- heated steamy moments were 💋! Gabriel is a single-dad with an adorable 4 yr old daughter and a hardened heart after the abrupt walk away of his ex-wife to chase her own happiness far far away from them. Thankfully he’s got a supportive family, including 3 siblings (who will feature in their own HEAs in the series!) and loving Italian-rooted parents. He’s got a thriving wine distribution business, and isn’t in the market for love anytime soon. With his mother’s recent accident, he is in dire need of a summer nanny to help cover before his mom returns to full time care of his daughter. Alexis is a recent college grad, looking to ease into official adulthood before committing to a career and her future. She’s lived very independently for many years, but not necessarily by her choice. Her parents divorced when she was young, and now remarried with her younger half-siblings to raise, they don’t have or make time to stay connected to Alexis. Though a friend connection, she is offered a summer nanny position which is perfect to buy her some time before real life decisions invade.
The chemistry between Gabe and Alexis is so hot! I love a good age-gap struggle and fight against the attraction! It’s that much sweeter when they finally crack! While Alexis originally seems meek or unsure, Gabriel quickly deciphers her needs and brings her to pleasure levels never experienced before. He’s not afraid to be a little possessive and rough, and she is here for it too.
Tropes: -age gap (14 yrs) -single dad -nanny/boss -hurt/comfort -meddling siblings -forced proximity/living together -rich/millionaire alpha -possessive alpha
This book was fire 🔥 the way Gabriel spoke about wine had my body feeling hot! I’ve never even thought about wine like that let alone read about it but daymmmmmmm!!!! It was HOT!🥵🥵🥵🥵
I loved this book so much, this author definitely knows how to write smut books. I have to say the spice on this was amazing 🤩 🔥❤️ Gabriel and that mouth of his was just so freakin sexy!! New book crush that’s for sure.
If you want a spicy 🌶️ read with a good story, definitely check this book out! 🔥🌶️🔥🌶️🔥🌶️🔥🌶️🥵
honestly. literally only worth it when you’re bored. it was good until the “breakup” they way they resolved it was something i have seen and read 400 billion times. it was so boring at the end.
Alexis is a recent college graduate who isn’t quite sure what she wants to do with her degree. So she applies for a nanny position, with little to no hope of actually getting the job.
Then she meets Gabe. The single dad looking for a nanny.
Gabe is a single dad to his daughter, Sienna. Their relationship is so ADORABLE. Sienna is FULL of personality and the cutest addition to this story. He’s also the definition of grumpy trope. 🥵
Alexis has a spitfire attitude that knocks Gabe down a few notches. 👏🏻
“The way this man talks about wine is doing more for me than porn ever could.”
Gabe’s wine talk 🥵 I’m not a wine drinker, or alcohol in general really, but LORD! This man had me wanting to drink all the wine.
Of course Gabe & Alexis can’t contain their attraction for each other. Their chemistry and sex are 🥵🥵🥵
“How do I politely ask her not to use my whole name because it makes my dick twitch in excitement?”
Over the course of the few months Alexis is nannying for Gabe, he sees what it would be like for his daughter to have an active mother in her life and can’t help but fall for Alexis.
Where You Belong is a rollercoaster. You’ll see the good, the bad, and the ugly between these two but I loved their story.
I also learned that I need to visit Little Italy in Ohio asap! The way Nicole wrote about it made it sound like a dream!
Loved Gabe’s siblings - the best side characters! Their picking & banter were perfect!
this is one of those books where if you want everything to move fast and be perfect all the time with the exception of the third act break up then this is the one for you.
This is my 3rd book by @nicolebaker_author and by far my favorite!! I absolutely loved Sienna, Gabe, and Alexis.
This book gave me all the feels and I’m starting to think I love the Nanny/single dad trope. Nicole did it so well!
Alexis is a college graduate who doesn’t know what she wants to do, so she applies for a summer nanny position. She goes for the interview and meets Gabe and it’s instant attraction.
Y’all really need to read this book!! It had me smiling most of the time. It was so damn cute!
If you like single dad/nanny and age gap tropes you’ll absolutely love this.
You can find it on amazon or kindle unlimited June 1st!
“Never would I have thought the young sexy nanny that walked into my life would be the one to steal my heart but I’m glad she was lost and looking for a place to belong”
I enjoyed this book so much. It had me smiling throughout the majority of the book, but I will be honest, I needed some tissues towards the end of the book. I was also surprised with the storyline. When I started reading, I predicted how the storyline was going to play out but I was wrong and it took another twist I wasn't expecting.
Gabe and Alexis have both been hurt by people that are supposed to love them so they are a bit damaged and have issues with trust. Gabe really struggles with getting over his past and moving on whereas Alexis opened up more to face her struggles. There were a few times that I just wanted to yell at Gabe. I loved the dynamics between Gabe and Alexis throughout this book and am sad that their story is over. However, the Gabe's siblings seem interesting so I am excited to see what this series has in store for readers.
If you enjoy single dads, age gap, or just want a good romance book to read then give this book a try. This book will suck you in and leave you wanting more of Gabe and Alexis!
I’m slowly falling in love with the single dad trope, especially when there isn’t heavy mama drama. This was a cute, fun read that made me want to live in Ohio lol. I loved the little town, the wine, and the family bond 💯
I will say the pacing was kind of quick, but it’s not a lengthy book so you just have to go with it. I loved that Alexis was able to overcome her intimacy issues and realize she was never the problem thanks to Gabriel. I do think we needed more moment with her and Sienna though…the nanny part fell through the cracks at some point tbh.
Some parts were okay but overall it was bad. Bad male lead who was just a walking red flag and basically an alcoholic, a four year old who didn’t speak like a child and sex chapters that made me feel violently uncomfortable because they were written so bad and were just weird. Like the guy basically compared wine to women and sex and it was just so strange. Wouldn’t recommend. Very surprised I got through the entire book. I hate tiktok for making me want to read this book
Listen this book was something and nothing all at once. Don’t get me wrong it had a few cute moments, but everything felt super rushed. I felt like they really only liked to have sex with each other. Yes they had a few semi deep conversations but most of the book was just about how sexually attractive they found each other.
It had everything I like in the romance book. I liked both MCs. I liked the story as well. The tropes are my favourite so I might be based. What I liked the most is that the story was not rushed but also not too slow. I cannot wait for the second one in the series. I just don't get one thing. In the epilogue they were talking about Marcus being weird and being a profesor but then the announcement for the second book is that it is Lucas story...
1.5⭐️ This was cringe-worthy at best. The characters and dialogue were so unnatural. The MMC has a lot of issues that are downright annoying. The miscommunication trope is over the top obnoxious. Smut made me uncomfortable with how awkward it was.
I need to stop letting Insta recommend books to me.
