Perfect for when you want a quick & steamy short read...
Kai Wilder and Asher Monroe are more than just workplace rivals—they're nemeses.
Kai, the office charmer with a reputation for conquest, clashes with the strategic and judgmental Asher at every turn. Their mutual disdain simmers under a veneer of professionalism...until fate intervenes.
When a power blackout plunges the Peak Edge Innovations office into darkness, Kai and Asher find themselves locked in close quarters with nowhere to hide from their heated rivalry. But there's a fine line between hate and desire, and tempting your rival is never a good idea. Right?
Rival Attraction is a steamy enemies-to-lovers, bi-awakening workplace romance short read and is the first installation in the Peak Edge Innovations series.
Unfortunately I wasn’t as wowed by this as I have been by other JP shorts. I want to say it’s because it’s the first one I’m reading following the same couple over multiple books but I enjoyed One Winter Night which is book 1 of 2 in the Dominic and Julian series.
Anyway, I wasn’t buying the rivals-to-lovers shift (mostly on Kai’s part) and the dialogue wasn’t as seamless as I’ve come to expect from JP. Nevertheless, I’m tempted to give the second instalment a try before calling it quits on the series.

Asher is all about his spreadsheets, data, and research, but this doesn’t lead to many sales. Kai on the other hand seems to have the magic touch, landing huge sales easily. Asher has felt like an outsider in the office, especially amongst the other salesmen. This has led to a rivalry between the two youngest salesmen.
After a storm traps the two men in the office together, their tension finally breaks.
These two were fun and spicy. This was an extremely quick read, and reads like a prequel a bit. I would love to read more about them and how their relationship progresses, especially with those in the office.
But for what this was it was enjoyable. I only wish we could have seen more of them in the future.

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
For how SHORT it was, we really got a decent character development, spice, and HFN.
Kai is the sales prince of the floor and Asher can’t stand him. Until a bad storm locks them in the office late one night and that rival tension turns into a night of passion and truth bombs.
Look, it wasn’t a masterpiece but it didn’t suck either. I could’ve read something MUCH longer and enjoyed it more. A few lines were cheesy but the spice was spicing and overall, it was good!
Business can be a cut-throat world, rivals within teams are commonplace. In marketing and advertising it is even more likely with everyone vying to be the one with the biggest accounts, the best clients. Jenny Pineapple has let us into this world, giving us a glimpse of what this rivalry might look like and how appearances really can be deceptive!
Kai and Asher take workplace rivalry to a new level. They are nemeses. Each striving to be the very best. As the charmer Kai is certain he is at the top of his game and the contract he has just secured will also secure him more at work. Asher on the other hand is the quiet, studious geek. He works hard and gives it his all, disdaining the way that Kai flaunts himself around. They manage to stay professional until...
The night that a big deal has just gone through both stay to work late. Kai to finish off his successful deal, Asher to continue his research to prove there are holes in the deal. Neither realises the other is in the office, until the blackout. By the lights of their phone torches they find one another only to find they are trapped as the doors are faulty. Their heated rivalry now how has nowhere to go and they are about to discover that they may be rivals but they have also been treading a fine line between hate and desire and that, now they are trapped together, there could be more between them than they have been willing to admit to.
Short, funny, romantic, steamy, erotic. I devoured this book and can't wait to discover more about the hidden desires of the employees of Peak Edge Innovations! Jenny Pineapple has a brilliant way with words and she has me hooked!.

Really enjoyable fast read This is very quick read about Kai and Asher. They both work for the same company, but there is a rivalry there between them. When they are both working late one night, all the power goes off, leaving them locked inside the office. And it becomes obvious quite quickly that these two are attracted to one another, and let me tell you they share one steamy, passionate, hot, hot Night together, but what happens the? will these two still be rivals will they hate each other for what happened that night or will something else become apparent between them both. Really enjoyable. I’ve got to say I am new to Jenny pineapple, but I really enjoy the way she writes. it’s hard to portray feelings and emotions when it is a fast read, but Jenny seems to hit the nail on the head. Looking forward to the next book.

An interestingly fun read about being trapped with your work Nemesis in an unlikely situation, and making the best of the time spent together. It's steamy and life altering for Kai and Asher. I would have loved to read more about what happens on Monday when they go back to the office and how their co-workers take in the new attitudes of both of these men.

I actually liked this mini-story, it left me craving more of Kai and Asher’s story wanting to know how their relationship developed. The spice be spicing for a 44-page novella and it had me sweating. This is a new-to-me author and I can’t wait to see what they write next!
It looks like this is a short intro to a series, a series that seems promising. Co-workers who seem to hate each other get locked in the office late at night during a storm, wonder what could happen next? A clearing of misconceptions, a fair amount of explaining, and getting to know each other better (wink wink). A short but very enjoyable tale.
Asher's lips quirk up in a small smile. "Are you intimidated by me?" I grin, feeling some of my usual bravado returning. "Terrified. But I've always liked playing with fire. I'm a pyromaniac that way."
So I did like the book, however it was improperly tagged as a double-bi awakening which was not at all the case. Still a good story just upset it’s not what I wanted when I started to read.
This was a wonderful short rivals to lovers read about Asher and Kai. I feel there was a bit left undone at the end that would have loved but it's still a great read.
