Elijah Ford goes by another name these days. After a long, bloody career as a gunslinger for hire, he has retired on a small cattle ranch in the rugged hills of Montana, determined to leave his violent past behind. But the past isn’t finished with him... When a local man vanishes, two desperate women arrive at his door, begging him to take one last job. Elijah doesn't know what getting involved will cost him, and he's not eager to find out.
Will Elijah sacrifice his hard-earned peace to do the right thing?
Clara Archer has a good life—she is strong-willed, intelligent, and beautiful, and she has avoided the advances of many suitors, holding out for a special someone. When her cousin disappears, she's forced to take matters into her own hands. She seeks out Elijah Ford, though the ex-gunslinger is as distant and unyielding as the land. He’s not the kind of man she imagined herself trusting or finding attractive... or is he?
Can Clara spur an unwilling hero into action before it's too late?
Drawn in by echoes of his own past, Elijah agrees to take the job, and Clara decides to give him a chance. However Elijah's enemies are many, and there is no rest for the wicked. Clara and Elijah are sucked into a maelstrom of violence and peril, where one wrong step could be the end of them... Will they fight tooth and claw for what really matters, or will this final job put them both into an early grave?
"The Gunman’s Code of Honor" is a historical adventure novel of approximately 60,000 words. No cliffhangers, only pure unadulterated action.
First time I’ve read this author. It’s a pretty fair book. The author gives you a description of the areas the story is taking place and good details of the characters and what makes them tick to move the story along. Elijah is a good ragged character, seems like he tamed his personality down a little to quick. Clara has a ranch she doesn’t work and nothing about it is mentioned in the book. Overall the story has good flow and stays together. Vince, the guy wanting to kill Elijah, moves around very good for having a wooden leg. He is half crazy, but gets away with being not afraid of anything because he is crazy. Luc adds humor to the story that gives you a laugh.
I reviewed this book from the author for an honest review. This is an honest review on the way I see this book. I would read another book by this author.
Elijah a man with a violent past that he wants no more! But can he move on from his past? Then there is Clara, a sweet lady who took a liking to Elijah who is Not interested. Each of them strong. Can they put aside their differences and come together. You’ll be glad you did. I’m freely giving my review as an ARC.
Ethan was a gun fighter who wanted to retire to a peaceful life. Life did not want to let him go. His friends were trying to help but they needed help from a pretty lady in town to bring peace and comfort along with some love to wrap him up.
A good read, a lot of Western action full of danger and intrigue. Really liked the authors delivery and organization. It was interesting from start to finish with a satisfying ending!
