The weather outside isn’t frightful. The wedding plans are delightful. The matron of honor isn’t quite due. But is it all too good to be true?
Wedding planner Annabelle Archer’s longtime assistant and new business partner, Kate, is getting married on New Year’s Eve. So far, things are going well. Even though Annabelle is eight months pregnant, she’s sure she can waddle down the aisle as Kate’s matron-of-honor.
After all, Fern is handling the hair, Richard is on top of the catering, and the Christian biker florists Buster and Mack have the décor well in hand. All they need to do is make it to the wedding without getting sucked into a criminal investigation. Easier said than done.
When Kate’s final dress fitting turns to murder, the team is back to investigating why the prima donna salon owner was killed and how. But as they get closer to unmasking the killer will they unravel Kate’s wedding? And what will happen if Annabelle’s hunky cop husband discovers that she’s hunting a murderer--again?
Aisle’s Well That Ends Well is the 20th book in the Agatha award-winning Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner Mystery Series. If you like hilarious-yet-deadly whodunits, charming characters, and delightfully witty tales, you’ll love Laura Durham’s cozy mystery series.
I'm a writer and reformed wedding planner who loves quiet mornings, great books, paddle boarding, and blackberry cobbler.
I write humorous cozy mysteries about a wedding planner because I like books that make me laugh and because, after planning weddings for twenty years, I have a long list of people to kill.
I have read all of the books in this series, truly loved and enjoyed them all tremendously. But this 20th book and possibly the last in the series was totally the icing on the cake, a huge 5 tier wedding cake! Annabelle and crew are preparing for Kate's New Years Eve wedding, with her as Matron of honor. At 8 months pregnant there are concerns the baby may arrive before the wedding takes place.
This was a very enjoyable and entertaining read. Laugh out loud funny with Richard having sympathy pregnancy symptoms, Fern is his usual over the top charming self and Kate having wedding jitters despite planning hundreds of weddings herself. Oh, and not to mention a murder just for good measure!
I laughed, I cried, and then shed real tears at the end. I highly recommend this entire series, you will not be disappointed, only very highly entertained!!
Kudos to the author..10 Glittering Stars!! 🎉🎉👏👏🌟🌟🌟🌟💞💞
From reading her highly entertaining Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner Mystery Series, author Laura Durham has brought innumerable laughs and entertainment to my life. She has just released Book 20, Aisle’s Well That Ends Well, which completes this series. She ends the series with an excellent plot to keep readers engaged from the first page to the last! Durham’s fun cast of characters consists of wedding planner Annabelle Archer, her longtime assistant and now business partner, Kate, Richard Gerard, their caterer, Fern, the most sought-after hairdresser to all their brides, and Christian biker florists Buster and Mack. This time, the gang is working to pull off the “perfect” New Year’s Eve Wedding for Kate, and Annabelle, who is eight months pregnant, is the Matron of Honor! Can this group, with an unfortunate reputation for finding murderers, make it through Kate’s wedding without finding one? That would make Annabelle’s husband, the police detective, very happy! However, murderers never seem to take a holiday, and readers will discover that Durham is masterful in her descriptions of people, places, and things. She gives you the feeling of being “in the moment” with the telling of the story. I highly recommend this book and this entire series!
This is the latest fun book in the Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner series. The usual gang is all there, but this time Annabelle is 8 months pregnant and Kate is preparing for her soon-upcoming New Year’s Eve wedding. As if that’s not enough, when Annabelle and Kate visit Posh, the new and exclusive wedding salon for Kate’s final dress fitting, they end up finding the salon owner lying dead on the floor.
Annabelle vows not to become involved in crime-solving, but against her wishes, she gets pulled into investigating by her friends. They learn that the victim was heartily despised by many, and the stakes are raised when they begin to wonder if they’re also in danger.
There’s lot of the usual hijinks, and the interplay between all of the characters is hilarious! I just love the quirkiness of all of Annabelle’s friends; they’re fun, and each over-the-top in their own way, but I find them entertaining. I do recommend reading the other books in the series first, because they’re all terrific, and you’ll get to meet all of the characters. Bottom line – this is a great book and I highly recommend it! I received an ARC copy, but the opinions expressed are solely my own.
Kate is getting married? Annabelle is ready to deliver? The crazy crew returns in this last (?) installment to the Wedding Belles series. Kate is getting married on New Year’s Eve unless cold feet or a dead body gets in the way. Annabelle is trying to make it through the wedding before delivering the next generation of wedding planners. With Fern, Mack and Buster, and Richard working on wedding prep, what can possibly go wrong? When a dead body turns up, will they investigate, or keep their eye on the goal? Of course they investigate right up to the wedding! Lots of fun as usual, malaprops from Kate and costumes from Leatrice while Mike and Daniel just hang on for the ride! If you haven’t read the whole series, you need to!
Anabelle Archer is a married wedding planner, planning the wedding of her best friend, longtime assistant and new business associate, Kate.
Annabelle is 8 months pregnant, the matron of honor, and seems ready for labor any day now! During the final dress fitting -- there's a body, a murder, and suspects galore!
Now Annabelle has promised her cop husband that she will not be investigating any more murders, but can she keep her promise is the big question; and along with that question is how was it done? ? ?
She was in the bridal shop and this happened under her nose!
Can she keep her promise not to snoop? Will Kate's wedding have to be postponed? And will she make it down the aisle before the baby comes?
For readers 15+ who enjoy laugh-out-loud whodunits!
If this be the end, then I understand (though I have this image of Belle bringing a killer to justice just by being cute), and I'm grateful this series ended as it did.
If we'll see Annabelle and Kate (and Mike and Daniel), and Richard, Mack, Buster, Leatrice, and Fern again -- and I believe we will -- then I want to be first in line for any new books. Maybe a new series starring Mike and Daniel as private investigators whose wives keep getting involved in the cases. Or Richard Gerard, Catering Sleuth. Or . . . well, you're the writer and definitely better at coming up with the ideas.
It's been a fun ride; here's hoping for more to come!
I was one of the lucky ones to be able to read Laura Durham’s series about Annabelle and her merry band of friends. Kate, the partner in the wedding business, Richard her best friend and caterer, Fern the hairdresser to all things wedding. While it is Kate and Daniel’s turn to get married, everyone is worried about a murder happening. Annabelle is ready to have a baby and Mike has requested no problems and questions if Annabelle can stay out of a problem if any arise. A problem arises when Kate goes to pick up her wedding dress and someone dies. Read Aisles Well That Ends Well or start the series at the beginning to go along for a wild ride!
I love this series. A wonderful timeline of stories in a wedding planner’s life in Washington DC. Full of beautiful, and not so beautiful, brides, a plethora of murders or mysteries to be solved and the most wonderful main characters, this series is one of the best. This book seems a fitting culmination to the series but a little bit of me hopes that there will be more to come. Annabelle Reece, nee Archer, is a wonderful wedding planner and problem solver. And her entourage of friends is both quirky and fun.
This book was so funny, I was literally making the bed shake when I was trying to read in the middle of the night. Trying not to wake up my husband. The plot is fantastic, characters come to life right off the page. I have been an Annabelle Archer fan since the beginning, but this one takes the cake. This book is a must read, but if you want the whole journey, read the series!!!
Seems as though this is the end of the series. If it is, it's a pretty good way to do it. I wasn't able to read every book in the series, but I enjoyed the ones I did catch. This book was enjoyable overall and left me wishing the best for the characters.
Such a fun and hilarious series! The characters just keep getting better and more hilarious. I've loved working my way through this series and watching all the characters develop and solve murders. Can't wait to see what's next. Cozy mystery series for sure.
I love that Kate gets her wedding, there is another couple of murders and a baby on the way along with all the unusual adopted family members Annabelle and Kate have accumulated.
Another absolute triumph, it’s not often a series that is 20 books long can keep up the sheer joy of this series, the characterisation is wonderful, I love Annabelle’s friends as much as I do Annabelle, clever story, wonderful read, great humour. Just really hoping this isn’t going to be the last.
I always look forward to reading of Annabelle’s latest adventures. I appreciate a story line that allows the characters to grow and develop. Can’t wait for the next edition.
I do love this series and the only seem to get funnier and better with time. Please say that there are more in the pipeline. I feel like these hot-mess people have become my friends too. They are a riot!
An enjoyable and satisfying conclusion to the series. Annabelle and her quirky friends never fail to entertain. If you haven’t read the rest of the series you have hours of enjoyment waiting for you.
Really happy another book in the series was written. It was fun to see Annabelle try to stop sleuthing. Now, we'll wait to see if another book will be written in this new chapter of Annabelle and Kate's lives.
I've missed Annabelle and the crew and this was perfect. Weddings, a murder or two, LOL moments but the same feel good as the rest of the series. If you haven't read them all, you need to ! Always a treat and must read every time a new one is released.
