Paradigms

Rate this book
Tarshis is a country descended from assassins, warriors and mercenaries. It’s no surprise that they have the strongest—and cruelest—military in the world. After a failed coup by the impowered Alters, the country eradicated the rebels and imprisoned any with the same genetic aberration.
Over a hundred years later, two adopted sisters, a blacklisted journalist and a captured revolutionary flee the Malone Containment Compound. Their goal? Make it to the northern refugee camp alive, with all limbs intact.
But plans have a way of never turning out right.
When Holland and Ester are separated, they learn the true strength of family and what it means to trust in something unknown.

Perfect for fans of The Maze Runner (James Dashner) and Cinder (Marissa Meyer). Paradigms is set in a 1970's inspired world with themes of sisterly love, rebellion and genetic powers.

*I was given an ARC by the author, and this review was not required*

First off, I loved this book, and if I could give it more stars, I would.
Second, I both loved and hated the cliffhanger ending. It was just enough to satisfy the reader, but also enough that left you on edge, begging and pleading for a second book.
Last, the characters were so relatable that I may or may not have become emotionally attached to them.

Bring a box of tissues and a cup of hot tea. Be prepared to not put this book down!

Great book for teens, young adults or for a second novel. The characters come to life with well written situations and evolving story lines. In a realm where the former world has passed away society is no longer recognizable. Military factions rule, genetics have mutated and life is no longer the same. But two themes are carried throughout the novel--family is the strength you can rely on and a higher power is there for strength also. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for a sequel.

A first time author and I am impressed! Cora wrote a fantastic story and I love the references throughout the story to God. I also love that she put so many personal touches into her writing. Also, dystopian without smut?! Thank you for a book I could hand off to a teen without worrying about content! I’m ready for the next one!
