Rate this book
Think you know about real estate?

Forget everything you’ve seen on TV and get a real behind-the-scenes tour as one Southern agent navigates a career helping people buy and sell homes.

Suzy Trotta deals with things real estate school never taught her, from pet roosters to stalkers to her own willingness to do almost anything for a sale. The author exposes a side of the industry most people never hear about, and she does it in candid detail.

This open house is sometimes funny, rarely glamorous, and always entertaining. You may never look at home buying the same again.

As a past client of Suzy’s, I nervously turned the pages making sure I wasn’t one of the crazy stories in her book. Spoiler: I was not. I plan to give this to all my realtor friends who are fighting the good fight across Tennessee.

If you’re looking for a lighthearted, laugh-out-loud read, Open House: Mostly True Tales of Crazy in Southern Real Estate delivers. This book offers a behind-the-scenes peek into the often absurd, unpredictable world of real estate through a series of sometimes heartfelt and often hysterical anecdotes. It has bizarre open house encounters, quirky clients and even a ghost story!
The author is an amazing storyteller and does a fantastic job capturing the highs and lows of the real estate profession. Perfectly paced and highly entertaining, this book is wonderful for unwinding after a long day.
Humor is the best way to cope with the chaos of life and the world right now so Open house was an amazing respite if only for a moment. Highly recommended!

Yes, I am biased because I edited this book. But Suzy Trotta is a hoot and I think people will love Open House.

This book gives you an inside look at what it is like to work as a real estate agent. The stories are mixture of heartwarming, weird, and funny. This might be a good book to read before getting your real estate license.

Suzy is one of the funniest people I know, so of course her collection of crazy real estate tales is a hysterical read! (I just wish she had also done an audio version so everyone could hear her do voices for all the crazies 😂
