Fated Fae #4

Fae's Bargain

Rate this book
I’m not some magical booty call. She has to earn in.

I’ve been trapped in the fae realm of Ethea for weeks, eager to return home. But now there’s finally enough magic to open a new portal and send those of us who wish to return to the human realm back, I’ve promised to stay a little while longer. My friend is marrying her mate, the very fae that dragged us all here in the first place and I’ve agreed to attend, but soon wish I hadn’t.

When the most entitled and selfish fae of them all—the Lady of Autumn Court—discovers the bond between us, she has the audacity to suggest I accept the bond. But she only wants her magic, not a mate. So, I offer her a bargain instead. She has to prove to me that she cares about someone other than herself by the wedding and I’ll accept before returning home.

I don’t expect her to convince me, but as the wedding draws closer, the bond becomes harder to ignore. The Autumn Lady becomes harder to resist. But she doesn’t want a mate, and I have no intention of accepting the bond.

What happens when two stubborn females are chosen for each other by the fates? Can love be borne from hate? And are either of us brave enough to find out?

Fae’s bargain is one of my favourites in the series, it was definitely worth the wait! I loved how Alex and and the Autumn lady tried so hard to deny their natural desires and detach from their true feelings. Daye writes in such a way you can really step into the mind of each character, the story effortlessly interweaves with the previous book in the series and I enjoy seeing the characters developing.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I do love a happy ending; the piano scene in chapter 13 was beautiful written and I could really sense the emotion and shift between the Autumn lady and Alex. The ‘will they, won’t they’ and the difficult decision Alex has to make made this a really spicy, heartwarming tear jerker and was a good reminder (for the stubborn amongst us) it’s ok to let good things happen to us.
