High school is hard enough without your grimoire going missing.
But that’s exactly what happened to me—Zaria Vexx, witch extraordinaire (or at least I was, until someone decided to make me a laughingstock). The worst part? The person who probably stole my grimoire is none other than Kyla, the witch who somehow aces every test while barely being able to spell "abracadabra."
And guess what? When she presented her grimoire, it was packed with all the spells I spent* three years* perfecting. Talk about a magical heist.
Now, I have less than a month to figure out how my work ended up in the hands of Kyla and half the other students, or I’ll be stuck repeating my senior year. Lucky me.
And just to keep things interesting, my best friend's boyfriend, Derek—a wolf-shifter who’s supposed to be off-limits—can’t seem to hide his interest in me. As if that’s not enough drama, Kyla’s shady half-vampire boyfriend is circling too. So now I’ve got two boys, neither of whom I should be involved with, and a whole magical revenge plan to pull off.
This was my first Serena Knights book, and it was amazing and has left me wanting to check out her backlist and read future releases.
I loved Zarias revenge story and am crushing on her vamp boyfriend Sebastian (sorry Derek). If you love books about bada$$ witches who are sarcastic, witty and creative with plotting revenge this is right up your alley.
Let me start off by saying this story was fantastic. I absolutely loved Zaria and her self assured confidence in herself. She is strong and powerful without being mean or bullying. She has this air about her that just says she doesn’t need to show off to know she knows her stuff. Then we have Derek and Sebastian who are sure of themselves but yet have this aura of strong masculine energy. The three of the together have chemistry that is felt throughout the story. The story has a ton of action, drama, suspense, with betrayal that definitely sets the tone of the story. The drew me in and I was unable to put it down. I absolutely loved the story. It is extremely well written and developed. It will have you on the edge of your seat. It is an absolute fantastic story that will not disappoint.
Wow oh wow oh wow! I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK! I definitely gave me 2000’s chick flick movie vibes but in a descriptive book way! (Think mean girls and she’s the man!) I found so many good quotes in this book that I can translate to reality and I love books that make that happen for me. The FMC goes through some pretty serious stuff including theft of her most prized possession and falls in the best type of love! This book was so descriptive that while I was reading it, it was like my mind was playing the movie along in my head! I could see everything so clearly to the items in her room to the look of the love interests, to the betrayal that happens to the FMC. It made me cry, laugh, scream(internally of course), throw my phone across the room(metaphorically of course) and bounce with happiness that the FMC got EVERYTHING she wanted! I HOPE there is a second book coming but we shall see!
What a story about revenge. With mates, friends gone rogue, deceit, and more. This would be a great rom-com on the big screen. The Queen B wears red stockings. Can't wait for the next installment. Greatspooky season read.
Alright - This review will probably be the most personal one I will ever write, so just stick with me here for a moment...
Revenge is a Witch is a truly incredible story about thievery, overcoming obstacles thrown at you by people you once called friends, and of course, revenge. I've said it once and I'll say it a million times, Serena has a way with words that makes the story come to life on the page. From the imagery to the character descriptions and personality to the banter...and THE SPICE! 🤌🏽Chef's Kiss! 🤌🏽
Zaria's story is as captivating as they come, one based on a true story, that will really resonate with a lot of people on the bullying/emotional trauma front. This book is not your typical "revenge" story, it is so much more than that. If you are looking for a book that has a badass witch on a journey of overcoming trials and tribulations - READ THIS BOOK! If you are looking for sexy vampires, shifters, and fated mates -READ THIS BOOK! If you are looking to read about the true story of two horrible authors who stole another author's work and profited off of it, but with a paranormal twist and hot sex scenes - READ THIS BOOK!
Now for the emotional part....because I cried after finishing this story. (And not just because of the acknowledgments -IYKYK) 🥹🥹🥹
I have intimate knowledge of the true story this book is based on, and I wish nothing more than to watch these two "witches" burn for their crimes. I know how this will end for them...We see you. We know who you are. And we are coming for you. 😡🔪🔥
However, I have watched you take your pain and betrayal and turn it into this remarkably beautiful story and I just want you to know how incredibly proud of you I am! I truly cannot wait to read the next books in the Wickedly Ever After series and see where this journey takes us 💙
And just for the record - I still want to know what happens between me... I mean Skylar and Mr. Whitlock. 😅🥵🤭
5-Star Review (Because No One Can Stop Me! Muwahaha) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Okay, let’s be real—I'm giving my own book 5 stars because, well, who’s gonna stop me? 😈 But seriously, Revenge is a Witch is more than just a fun romp through magical high school drama and forbidden romances. This book is deeply personal to me, and if you're willing to stick around for a few more sentences, I want to share why I wrote it.
The truth? My work was stolen. Someone accessed my writing, reproduced it, and even sold it as their own. Yes, other indie authors published what was meant to be my work, and believe me, some of my readers have even come across their books without knowing that the stories were originally mine. 💔
At first, I was devastated. The kind of devastation that makes you want to burn all your notebooks and throw your laptop into a lake. But instead of letting the anger consume me, I decided to do something better—turn that rage into creativity.
So, Revenge is a Witch was born. This book is a direct response to that pain, that frustration. It’s my way of reclaiming my voice and flipping the narrative. Zaria Vexx’s story is my story in many ways—about losing something deeply personal, feeling helpless, but ultimately choosing to fight back. And yes, her magical revenge plan? It felt like a little victory of my own.
I poured every ounce of energy, passion, and, yes, anger into this book, and I can confidently say it’s the best thing I’ve written so far. So, if you're here for a story about stolen magic, forbidden romances, and epic revenge, then I hope Revenge is a Witch hits all the right notes for you—because it certainly did for me.
And remember, even if life tries to steal from you, there's always a way to reclaim what's yours. 🔥
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy every spellbound moment of this book. 🖤
First of all this book is not intended for U18s. There is spice - MFM- in the story but in my opinion it flows within the storyline itself. The story had me hooked from the start and tbh once I began reading, it didn’t take long until I got to the end. It was one of those books that keeps the story at a fast pace which I could not put down.
It is set in a high school for witches, werewolves, vampires etc whilst dealing with the pressure found in every high school - course work, lessons , graduation.
Our main FMC is Zaria or Z who is the sassiest and most sarcastic witch I’ve ever come across. However she is a good student who always gets her work done and never misses class. She’s not known as a troublemaker at all.
The storyline is based around an important assessment, that she needs to pass her course, goes missing. Via friends and other sources she discovers who took it and vows revenge big time She is determined to make the culprit pay. Whilst plotting her revenge Zaria also comes across betrayal within her friendship groups whilst finding new friends as well as romance.
Zaria is a character who you want to triumph and come out on top. She’s had her whole high school life up until this point being tormented and basically bullied. So you want her to succeed all the way through the book and exact that revenge - which she does in ways only Zaria could come up with.
I really can’t wait for the next book to come out. I want to find out what happens to the rest of the characters especially the two MMCs Derek and Sebastian.
A perfect book to read around this time of year but personally I’d read it any time of year. Highly recommend this book. This is my first book by Serena Knights that I’ve read but it certainly wont be the last one.
At first, I wasn’t sure if this book might lean a bit too much toward young teen for my taste, but it quickly proved me wrong. It pulled me in with a story that was captivating on so many levels. I found myself cheering for revenge, for love, for happiness—and most of all, for the kind of true friendship that makes your heart ache. The emotional journey it took me on was incredible, leaving me laughing, crying, and even standing in my kitchen at midnight, burning marshmallows in a fit of rage. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, wrapped up in a single book in the most beautiful way possible.
The humor and banter? Absolutely flawless. Every line felt perfectly timed and delivered with precision. The spice was spicy but not overpowering. The villain was beyond despicable, yet the writing was so powerful that I found myself questioning my own humanity alongside the main character. Few books have made me feel as deeply as this one, and I think that’s largely because the emotions are grounded in something real. You can feel the author’s heart and soul woven into every page, and it brings a level of authenticity that’s rare in fantasy.
It’s hard to find a book that balances raw emotion, fantasy, and humor this well. This one did it with pure perfection—like finding a vintage pair of red stockings, full of charm and character, and completely unforgettable.
Full Five Stars! This is definitely a book with spice not a spicy book. The quality of spice is a 4 and the quantity is about a 2.
"Revenge is a Witch" is a paranormal MFM story that can be read as a standalone, although the ending of this book suggests there might be more for these characters in the future. I'm not entirely sure how to interpret that ending, but maybe that's because the author isn't sure about writing more either... We'll have to wait and see.
That being said; this book took me on a crazy rollercoaster and I absolutely loved it. I could practically feel the panic and the frustration Zaria goes through when her grimoire goes missing, followed by all the tumultuous emotions once she realises what actually happened to it. I'm pretty sure the emotions are so strong because the author has some personal demons to conquer with this book. It reminded me of that meme that goes around about an author talking to a therapist, suggesting dealing with some frustrating people in real live by building them into fictional people and unaliving them. If you've ever been curious about that, I highly suggest reading this book. It definitely added an edge to the storyline...
But even without that vibe, I truly loved this book. It has some high school 'mean girls' vibes, but I loved our fmc and her two fated mates, and even though they both have some kind of relationship at the start of this book, I never felt like they crossed a line when they started going after Zaria. This book was fun, exciting, and with a bit of spice as the cherry on top. I'm curious to discover more from this author in the future.
Summary: Zaria is navigating life as a student with her best friend Sam when her grimoire is stolen on the day she is supposed to turn it in for a class. At the school assembly, her suspicions are confirmed when her enemy is given credit for all her spells and her grimoire. She plots revenge against Kyla and determines how to take down the "queen bee" witch with help from Derek and Sebastian.
For readers that like: -Fated mates -Why choose romance -Shifters -Vampires -Medium level spice -Academia romance
Favorite quotes: "Revenge. Sweet, calculated revenge." "Wouldn't miss it for the world. Plus, you know me - I'm always up for a little chaos."
I really liked Revenge is a Witch from the very beginning. As the MC, Zaria is quirky, fun, and ready to take on any challenge. She is thrown so many curve balls during this book and she takes them in stride to move foward with her plans. I loved Derek and Sebastian - they both have great qualities and I loved them both for different reasons. Derek is so lovable and knows Zaria so well since they have been friends for a long time. Sebastian puts Zaria first even in harder times of the book and is there for her. Plus, I loved how Derek and Sebastian's friendship evolved. There are many twists throughout the book, which I think keeps the pacing fast. Thank you Serena! Looking forward to the next book.
This was more of a 4.5 than a 4 star but alas we can’t use half points. This was really good! I know this book came out of Serena’s books being stolen and I think it’s good that at least something good could come out of the situation (aka this book). It was very campy and I enjoyed how Zaria was able to balance her pain of losing her grimoire which made her seek revenge and her positive emotions that lead to love. I honestly loved the revenge plot line and think it was a highlight of the book. Zaria was so quick-witted and plan-oriented that it really worked well. The romance was also interesting. It definitely felt like instant love in some points but she had known the love interests for years so it wasn’t as weird. I loved how Zaria just accepted that she was bonded with the boys and that allowed their relationship to grow so much over the book. I really enjoyed the ending and how satisfying it was to see Kyla get what was coming to her. I’m still not sure why Zaria didn’t go to the principal right away but alas it is what it is. The only reason I took off a half of a star was some of the wording was weird but that may just be because Serena is Australian and I’m American so there’s some variation. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and am adding it to another book I’m recommending by Serena! I read this as an ARC and this is my honest review.
This was such a witchy fun read. From page one, Serena wrote Zaria to be fallen in love with and from page one you get drawn in, and you just want to read more and find out what happens to Zaria and her friends.
I love the school that Serena has created in our own world along with the magic system. The magic system is simple, and yet it is creative and a complexity to it. I love the ability to the witches have to use their magic with both their wands and without their wands. The complex simplicity is so amazing, I can't help but love it.
It was great reading a story like this that was set in our own world, just in its own school. I love all the creative worlds out there, but I also love when authors use our own world. I feel like our own world has so much to offer that so often gets over looked because author's are writing about magic, shifter's, vampire's, demons, and all these other cool mysterious creatures. I see no reason what so ever why there can't be any of those people or creatures living in our world.
Zaria is a hoot. She has an amazing arc. I love how clearly she is described. It is easy for me to close my eyes, and I can see her as clear as day. And the emotional arcs she goes through. Her feelings, her highs and lows, ups and downs, wins, and loses all feel like your own.
At first, I thought Sam was the perfect best friend. But, as soon as she asked for help with her Grimoire, I started to get the ick feeling. She should have been focusing on it herself. Not relying on Zaria to do the work for her.
Derek and Sebastian. I was on the fence with both of these boys from the moment they got involved in Zaria's life. Derek, he jumped from Sam to Zaria and suddenly is all over her even though Sam asked Zaria to stay away. Sebastian is just a hexed mess that Zaria has to find a way to deal with. Then suddenly, everything changes, and Zaria has more decisions to make, and she still has to figure out who the thief is.
I do like the friendship that forms between Derek and Sebastian as they spend more time with Zaria. It's a tense friendship, but it's still a friendship nonetheless.
It's like Sebastian say's “She's a manipulative, power-hungry, bitch. And you 'best-friend' Sam? She's not far behind.” “One's a snake, the other's a rat. Can't tell who's worse.” Kayla is written as the perfect villain with sidekicks who perfect the persona and give her power to be the best villain she can be or to turn Zaria into the bad girl? You decide.
I really enjoyed this witchy ride. It was a fun read. The twists and turns will keep you guessing who did what and what actually happened. You will fall in love with Zaria, Derek, Sebastian, you will get hot and bothered with the spicy and heat that this book produces. And you will laugh and cackle with glee and Zaria gets her revenge.
“Revenge is a Witch” is a delightful read that follows Zaria, a teenage witch navigating the ups and downs of high school life. The plot kicks off with a bang when her prized grimoire goes missing just before it’s due. The story beautifully explores Zaria's relationships with her friends Sam and Derek, and the enigmatic Sebastian, while also delving into her rivalry with the ever-difficult Kyla, who certainly knows how to make Zaria’s life complicated.
One of the things I really enjoyed was the book's fast-paced opening. The witty banter among the characters had me chuckling and kept the momentum going. However, as the story shifted toward the concept of fated mates, I felt some scenes became a bit forced, which detracted from the overall flow of the narrative. Despite that, the ending was incredibly satisfying as Zaria finally gets her revenge, leaving me eager to see what twists await in the next installment.
Overall, I’d give “Revenge is a Witch” a solid 3.75 stars. It’s a fun mix of magic and high school drama, and I can’t wait to see where Zaria’s journey takes her next!
Zaria had me pulled into her life right from the start. I like her witty conversation and felt welcomed by her. I love her quirky sense of fashion. I really didn't like Kyla, but I did like her vampire boyfriend. Zaria's boyfriend is a wolf shifter and I liked him, too. I was rooting for Zaria.
Serena Knights has written a fun, relaxing classy novel and I really want to review mor of her books when they are out. I thoroughly enjoyed Revenge is a Witch.
I was having a really hard time finding anything I enjoyed as much as Stephanie Meyer's The Twilight Saga, so I stayed away from the genre, but this is most definitely a memorable book. I'm so glad it's the first book in a series, and I want to review the other books in the series when they're released.
Thanks to Serena Knights

A witty, delightful and FUN read. Full of banter, no holds barred attitude and Spice. Sure to bring out the witch in You! Zaria is a witch like no other- even after being bullied, taken for granted, she still won’t let the theft of her grimoire take her down either… What’s a witch to do? Get Revenge of course! As she finds herself without her important grimoire she finds a different kind of strength.. in herself. One that makes her stronger than before. I loved the character development of Z. And the chemistry between her and Derek and Sebastian. Lots of spice there🌶️🌶️🌶️. This book was like a 90s witchy movie but better. It has emotion- coming through so it’s palpable… you are against the revenge at first ,then not so much. This book has magic, romance, creativity, betrayal, friendship … all with a touch of paranormal. Absolutely a pleasure to read this- please bring her back in more books!!!
Zaria or ‘Z’ sets out to prove who took her grimoire and why. I don’t blame her for wanting to know for a fact, not just a gut feeling. I enjoyed the creative ideas she came up with to discover the who and why. Absolutely magnificent! The who was pretty easy to guess. How it got stolen wasn’t as clear-cut, at least until certain aspects of the story were revealed. The how was an awesome twist that I didn’t see coming! That twist was the final straw that helped solidify my disdain for a certain someone after particular info came to light from Derek. Throughout the story Z remains loyal to her ideals, but the Big showdown pushes her buttons in a different way than previously seen. It gave us a nail biting, well written ending.
This book was so descriptive, I was totally lost in it. Revenge is a Witch is a truly incredible story. Zaria's story is captivating. A fun romp through magical high school drama, it's the true story of two horrible authors who stole another author's work and profited off of it. Sexy vampires, shifters, and fated mates make this book perfect for lovers of paranormal romance. Serena has such a way with words. I hope there is a second book coming. And remember, even if life tries to steal from you, there's always a way to reclaim what's yours - The author and reclaim it she did!! I can't say I would have the same attitude but it's definitely the only way to be.
This book was fantastic! It had a perfect mix of realness, humor, and a touch of magic. Think Mean Girls, but with a magical twist—it was everything I didn't know I needed. The buildup of the plot and the character development kept me hooked throughout. While the romance did progress quickly, especially since the characters already had some history, it still managed to feel authentic.
One minor thing I noticed was that some phrases were repeated a bit too often within the same chapter. But honestly, that didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the story. The ending hints at a sequel, and I’m already eager to see what happens next! Highly recommend for anyone into fun, magical drama.
This book is chaos in the best way. Zaria is the kind of main character you want in a supernatural academy setting—snarky, clever, and just unbothered enough to make her enemies nervous. The banter is razor-sharp, the world is a mess of magic, rivalries, and disaster-prone potion classes, and the romance? Let’s just say the why choose dynamic is absolutely doing its job.
The magic system is solid, the school feels alive (and like a lawsuit waiting to happen), and the cast of creatures—from witches to vampires to shifters—keeps things interesting. If you like fast-paced, attitude-heavy paranormal reads with a lead who takes no shit, Revenge is a Witch delivers.
This book was soooo good! I couldn’t put it down and it intrigued me from the very beginning. The main character Zaria had the best sense of humor and I love that in a character. I feel like I don’t resonate with many characters in that way, but Zaria’s sense of humor felt like someone I would be friends with! It was witty and clever. The steps in taking down the “villain” in the book were amazing as well and I loved the back and forth banter. Also being able to have banter between Zaria, Seb, and Derek was amazing and I loved every second of it. I’m so excited to read more from Serena!!
This was a fun book to read. I liked that Zaria is a strong-willed character that stands up for herself. This is book one and I cannot wait to see how the series plays out. Zaria is a witch in high school. It is time to turn in her grimoire only to find out it is blank. She finds out her nemesis has turned in her spell book and now her main goal is taking that witch down. I like the way Zaria thinks and the plans she comes up with for revenge.

This was such a fun 5 star read. I loved loved LOVED spending time in Zaria’s world 🥹 Zaria, Sebastian and Derek were all so easy to fall in love with. The banter between all of them, the unique bond that Zaria shared with each of them, and the way they navigated their journey toward revenge together was so fun to be a part of.
Zaria’s confidence in herself and her abilities was infectious. Her witty comebacks and endless sass made me want to be friends with her. I can’t wait to see what’s next 🥰
And I HAVE to mention, the attention to detail in her grimoire?! Chefs kiss. Loved.
Revenge of a Witch…..this was just perfect. I swear I was pissed for Zaria, ready to fight for her 😂😂 So I was definitely giddy while watching Zaria’s plans play out. She has so much to deal with on the side lines like her accomplice/ best friend’s ex, Derek. Her best friend Sam and of course there is Sebastian. I loved the banter throughout the entire book. I just want more, so so much more of this world. Witty and fun. I’m obsessed with Serena’s ability to write such an amazing book that had me emerged. This was my first time reading this author and I’m well obsessed!
First off I freaking love Z. She is smart, funny, sassy, strong and knows her limits.
When it feels like everything is falling apart and she needs to get answers she finds some unexpected allies along with betrayal. Of course her nemesis is a part of everything going wrong.
This witch and her allies have a perfect plan to take down the mean girl in just a few perfect phases. The final nail in her coffin is absolute perfection.
I'm super excited to see what will happen in the next book. I absolutely love this group.
If I could give this book 6⭐️ I would I absolutely could NOT put it down (until I physically had to) and I am so in love with Zaria, Sebastian and Derek 🫶🏼 The main story was so engaging, I constantly was trying to figure out what would happen next and was never once disappointed! I enjoyed how lighthearted some parts were, it kept the whole vibe of the book from being constant doom&gloom/revenge and the spicy scenes were impeccable.
This was a witchy of a story love the paranormal gentry and which is you’re gonna love this book has revenge and action great world building and terrific characters and you’re gonna love the storyline once you start reading you get really into it. I would definitely recommend it. It’s a page turner to anybody that loves gentry and if you haven’t tried gentry with this book.

Wow. This book was so good. Knowing what inspired this book makes me furious that people can be so deceiving. Serena didn't deserve any of that. I loved Zaria. She's witty and a bada**. She didn't let anything get in her way. The connection she had with Sebastian and Derek was chefs kiss. I felt like I was right there in their world with them. Her books have a way of drawing you in. Keep being amazing Serena!
