They test her self-control, forcing her to mediate an impossible local conflict on the brink of war. Then there's the enigmatic, ancient alien artifact that they forbid her to go near-until it comes after her and nearly trashes the entire planet. In the aftermath of an alien attack from another dimension, Naero's forced to flee into the Unknown Sectors-branded an outlaw-hunted by her own people and the unstoppable, Mystic Enforcer. Her only hope? Team up with her outcast uncle Baeven. During that desperate search, Naero uncovers a diabolical enemy plan to destroy humanity. The Doomsday Clock is ticking down. I was really disappointed in the book overall and here's why.

First, this is probably the worst edited book I've ever read. The first half was decent but the last half looked as if no editing had been done at all.

Second, whereas the first books had a real plot and direction, this book seemed to aimlessly wander. It seemed to have no direction.

Third, while the first two books were a good mix of sci-fi and fantasy, this book was much more fantasy than sci-fi and the fantasy wasn't that compelling. It seemed almost too surreal, even for a fictional book. Naero seemed to have just the right tool handy for any situation and at some point in the book I realized there was no longer any suspense because you knew what was going to happen.

It wasn't that this was a BAD book. It's just that it wasn't as good as it's predecessors. I will await the next installment and it will hopefully be better.

Not as good as 1 and 2

Sort of long winded in spots. The plot dragged and it was difficult to follow and create a picture. His use of hyphens has always been a tad much, this time it was over the top. I realize this is scify and much like Heinlein did in his later books became obsessed with sex. This little tryst with Naero II and Om was way over the top.

More training, more epic fights, more battles and adventures, don't want to put this series down. Same as previous. The fights get more epic, the battles get bigger and aliens harder and more training.
