Good book which builds onto the first.

I absolutely LOVED the tension and the angst during the first third of the book. The whole cat and mouse portion was so well done and made the main characters' reunion much more satisfying and rich. The mentions of sensitive deeper topics were gut wrenching and added another layer to their relationship which I appreciated. We also got to see the FMC being a badass and the MMC being so down bad (morally gray version) it made me giggle and squeal.

I didn't particularly enjoy the little hiccup in their relationship but I guess it adds to their growth as a couple. There was also a lot of characters introduced and last minute bombshell reveals whilst the book was set in a breakneck pace which left me confused but hopefully this will all be addressed in the next book.

Would read again. Keen for the next one!
