★★★★! UnRaveled (stand-alone novella). Wife & mother, Lilly, while away on business, is kidnapped & experiences her every forbidden sexual fantasy, but how does she deal with the aftermath?

“How can I be scared boneless and yet still have that slow burning ache unfurling in my lower belly.”

UnRaveled is Lilly’s story. It opens up to her walking down a cobblestone street after a night of drinking while in Italy on business. She feels drunk, dazed even and finds herself reflecting over her life and marriage to her husband, Anderson. 15 years ago while in College and dating their sex life had been spontaneous, explorative and memorable, but since marriage and kids they have settled into an uncreative and underwhelming routine of sex twice a week…

Quite frankly she is bored and spinning forbidden fantasies thinking it’s time to ask for more. Next thing she knows she is tied to a bed, blindfolded and gagged, while a mysterious and imposing man she had seen earlier that evening in the bar both threatens and promises her a night of unbridled passion.

UnRaveled follows Lilly during that night while a stranger takes charge and, though not consensual, still delivers on her every repressed sexual fantasy, pushing all boundaries including bondage, pain, MFM and much more. But in the aftermath, while guilt and shame sets in, Lilly has to face the consequences and make some big decisions.

“My body trembles with the acknowledgement because as much as I deny it, this is what I’ve wanted from Anderson.
Dirty talk.
Provocation and domination.”

This fast-paced novella focuses on Lilly’s every fancy and offers up some tantalizing sex scenes. The ending has a somewhat shocking twist, but hints are provided leading up to it, and to me some of it is a bit unrealistic. I might have wished Lilly handled the first phone call differently (truth is always the best), but I’ll chuck it off to her brain scrambled after a night of mind-blowing sex.

Thought-provoking plot! Steamy sex scenes! One woman getting to enjoy a night of her every forbidden fantasy! A quick novella that packs a lot of punch!

“Yes he is holding me against my will—fucking me, pleasuring me, punishing me—but by God, I got off on it.
What the hell does that say about me?”

I personally think Amazon will rule in favor of keeping UnRavled on the market. Though pushing boundaries I have seen way more controversial stories here in the erotic genre section of GR.

A Note from the Author:

Dear Reader:

While the subject matter in UnRaveled pushes some boundaries and blurs the edge of the moral compass…it also begs you to ask yourself questions you might have previously chosen to ignore. The story pushes you to wonder why you and your spouse have become complacent as a couple. It forces you look within yourself to see how you can be turned on by something when you know you’re not supposed to be. It urges you wonder why you’re not communicating your needs better within your own relationship. It makes you turn to that partner and speak up for the first time in a long time about what exactly it is that you need.

UnRaveled is a work of fiction. Sometimes in fiction authors use literary freedom to push boundaries in unconventional ways to make a point. I have done that in this short story.
I have left numerous questions unanswered for you, the reader, to fill in as you see fit. I want you to use your imagination to complete them. I want you to justify or not justify with your own mind how what occurs can be acceptable or unacceptable. Regardless of what it is, I want you to question: the story, Lilly, Anderson, and most importantly yourself.

You might not like UnRaveled. You might actually hate it and say not for me. Regardless if you do or don’t, the one thing I hope you take away from it, is that it made you think.
On a final note, I understand why certain things within UnRaveled are controversial. That was not my intention. I’m not trying to be inconsiderate by any means to those that have been forced into a situation of non-consensual sex in whatever form it is.... Please know that and take that to heart.

Thank you for reading,
Kristy

4.5 Questioning, Experiencing, and Understanding Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-2014
Relationships...what drew us to them... the people we fell in love with... Was it a look, a way they talked to us so we thought every little thing we uttered was important and wonderful? Was it the way they would light up when they saw us... just looking all happy and then holding us firm to their chest with a knowing this was where we belonged.... or we were we lucky enough to have him always want to touch... to be connected.... a feeling as if you were right there.. not annoyingly so.. just a sense of us... always us...

What can happen in relationships is the loss of those connections and feelings.
Oh, they are still there but other things come and override the impulses enough to make them not first and foremost in actions. Kids come into play, work comes and takes over time, and before you know it... the giddy, joyous coupling you and your man had regularly can disappear into frustrating moments of sameness. Of missed opportunities, of getting it done for him, not you, because he wasn't paying attention as he should have, and you decided the fight wasn't worth it.

K. Bromberg brings this topic front and center in Unraveled. She has Lilly, married with two boys, on a trip which should have been the romantic anniversary with her husband, Andersen. They have been married for about 10 years and were high school sweethearts, him, the jock, she, the preacher's daughter. He was a dream... strong, forceful and showed her the way to discovering her sexuality...together their bodies sang.

But life happens. Years blend into more time and responsibilities, and the people with the never-ending sexual appetite somehow morphed into where they are now, except Lilly has figured out she wants and needs more. She reads those romance books which blatantly talk about all the taboos she grew up with being freeing and liberating. She has bought the toys and books to see what these desires she has are and tried to discuss them with Andersen in an open non-threatening way. Yet, Andersen did the male knee-jerk reaction of ...Things are good... We don't need any of that stuff... and didn't listen to what Lilly was asking for. She wanted and needed more. She wanted the couple they first were... not that he wasn't able.

They planned to go to Italy, it is scheduled, and both are geared for it to maybe soothe and heal some of their past hurt. Andersen's work once again makes Lilly take a backseat. With his blessing, she goes without him and finds herself on a stool at a bar brooding about all of the things she wants and doesn't see happening anytime soon. A drink appears from the bartender from an Italian gentleman tipping his head to her.

Lilly is at a crossroads... She knows she should just ignore the drink, pick up her purse, and go... Yet, there is a moment, a feeling of lightness and appreciation wafting over her and she brings the drink to her lips.

This was my first experience with K. Bromberg... OMG... this woman can write... She will transport you, put you through a sensual wringer and never let you get your bearings so you are always on the edge. The edge of either mental confusion, physical awareness, and erotic sense overload. She addresses all the cliches yet brings conclusions and insights which worked in this context. I do have to say, though, my Naughty NancyDrew antenna was on high alert and led me through the majority of the read.

This is a stand-alone tale... at least it feels this way to me so there was no angst in wanting a conclusion or more. I felt really good about how it ended. As part of the Bend Anthology, I can only say, well done Ms. Bromberg, well done.

A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review.

Well damn. I don’t know what I expected from this novella. Having never read K. Bromberg, I guess I had no expectations. I wasn’t sure what direction this was going to take, but by the end, I really enjoyed it. Absolutely loved the twist! The writing had a great flow and I liked the main character. Even though this story had some unrealistic parts, there were so many things about Lilly that were relatable. How many of us that have been married for a while have thought about this? But for it to really happen. Wow. Just reading about it was intense. And freaking hot. I still keep thinking about that ending. Yes. Another sexy novella from the Bend Anthology! On to the next one!

An Erotic Abduction Fantasy for your steamy pleasure:
"I'm going to fuck you. By the time I'm done, you'll beg me to keep going. Then you'll beg me to stop. Regardless, you'll take what I give you - all of it - and you'll enjoy every single fucking moment of it. And Marco is going to watch. Understood?"
This short story has themes which many find objectionable - I'm not one of them, but I feel obligated to warn you of the contents:
- Abduction
- Non/Dubious Consent
- Forced Infidelity
- BDSM Sexual Situations

Left alone on what should have been the romantic Tenth Wedding Anniversary vacation of her dreams, Lil is mourning the loss of sexual satisfaction in her marriage.

While drinking in a bar, her eyes meet those of a mysterious stranger, and the consequences of that one glance have a ripple effect which will change her life forever.

Lil is drugged by this stranger and wakes blindfolded, chained to a bed, & naked...

The kinky details:

...The real story is that Lil must to grips with the fact that on some level she ENJOYS what is happening to her.
How can I find pleasure from this man who is holding me against my will?
I must admit that I do love a good abduction fantasy...

On a side note:

This story might not be for general audiences, but I certainly enjoyed it, and it set the tone for things to come...

Yeah,

Honestly, if you're hankering for some hot read with some "rape, dub-con, non-con" themes, try Willing Victim from Cara Mckena. That was clearly fantasy with both partners being aware of what they were into. This one, not so much.

My thoughts
Ok this book has pushed Miss Bromberg's readers into a taboo subject I believe is nothing like her Driven trilogy I have yet to read that so I can't compare, what I will say is I enjoyed her writing style and I will go onto reading her other books but I worked the plot out really quickly it was pretty predictable. And she made me Angry.

AM PUTTING MY THOUGHTS IN A SPOILER TAG DUE TO ME EXPLAINING MY FEELINGS IF YOU HAVE YET TO READ THIS DON'T OPEN IT WARNING AGAIN DO NOT OPEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED...

But they're just my feelings and really I'm still giving this 3.5 stars as K Bromberg made me FEEL and to do that I applaud her for giving her readers something to rant, rave and discuss....

UnRaveled is a novella only available within the Anthology from the authors of The Erotic Consortium. The anthology will be available for a limited time. Bend.

Lilly only wanted to spice up her sex life. She didn't ask for this, but that doesn't mean part of her doesn't want it.

"I should have never looked up."

Screenshot_3

K. Bromberg, just moved outside of her comfort zone and bought a fucking house there. Holy hell. When I saw that Kristy was joining the ladies over at EC and was going to give us a novella I was excited. My first thought was maybe this would be the perfect way to get a bit more of Driven, but when that cover was revealed, then the blurb. I knew. This was no romantic tale of two lovers. This was going to be deeper, grittier, darker; and it was.

Screenshot_2

This was one of those darker reads that makes you balance on the edge of fiction and reality, right and wrong. I applaud Kristy for the leap she took with this story and I loved being able to take that leap with her.

description

Lily and her husband, Anderson, are fairly content with their lives but Lily’s sexual needs have expanded to kinkier preferences. During their tenth wedding anniversary, they were supposed to travel together to Italy to celebrate; however, Anderson’s work prevents him from taking the trip. One night, Lily is having a drink at the hotel bar and meets a handsome Italian stranger. From that point, the night unravels into an unexpected situation.

“Bella, by the time I’m done with you, you’ll be begging me to fuck you again. You’ll beg to suck my cock, to fuck your mouth. You’ll yearn to please me, crave my touch. You’ll cry when I leave you to go back to your everyday life.”

What occurs is erotic, tense, scary, hot, and questionable for several reasons. By the end of the story, my feelings ran the gamut of emotions and I did not expect the ending. This story packs a punch, and while the subject matter is dark, it is a perfectly crafted novella.

UnRaveled was included in the anthology Bend when I read it. Initially, I found it very difficult to write a short review because of spoilers, but I decided to include one. UnRaveled is well written and the reader's curiosity is definitely peaked from the beginning. With such extreme measures used in the plot, I would have liked the ended to have a few more pages.

Unraveled is a fairly dark erotica novella from K Bromberg, the author of the Driven Trilogy and, while there’s a veiled reference to Colton, this is very different and is pure erotica. It’s not erotic romance as you’ve probably come to expect from her but it is oh so freakin hot!!

We begin with Lily drinking under a Tuscan night sky alone after her workaholic husband, Anderson, has cried off the trip at the last minute. As much as Lily loves Anderson, after two kids and more than a decade together, the spark in their sex life has firmly fizzled out and left them both jaded and uninspired. Reading erotic novels opened lily’s eyes to a whole new and deviant world, one that she really wants to experiment with but her very vanilla husband has balked at the thought.

So now, getting slowly inebriated alone in Italy, Lily suddenly, after catching the eye of an intensely sexy and dark stranger, finds herself roofied, bound, blindfold and naked and completely at the mercy of this man who makes her body sing through pain and pleasure despite her fears and forced infidelity.

My body shivers from a potent cocktail of fear mixed with traitorous pleasure. The heightened sensation shocks my mind back to the present. To the here and now. To the gloved hand sliding a fingertip between my breasts, to the ragged breathing of the man I can’t see, to the unknown rifling through me.

And the deep-seated ache to be owned.

I should have never looked up.

I know it’s all kind of wrong – none of this is Lily’s choice but as this mysterious stranger forces her body to experience orgasmic highs she never thought possible, she finds herself craving his touch – she’s become a willing captive. I think K Bromberg sets out to titillate and arouse and she definitely succeeds in this. I found myself coming over all unnecessary as I sat and read this in my back garden in the sun and it made me so hot, i had to seek out my hubby. You know what I’m saying, right girls??

So, I think it pays to know what to expect here – this is a highly arousing and really rather deviant piece of erotica and it’s nothing like the Driven Trilogy. It makes you question yourself – how can something so wrong be so incredibly sexy and enticing. Well, I guess, that’s the hallmark of really good dark erotica and that’s exactly what this is – a high quality piece of dark erotica.

This is my first read a by K. Bromberg and I can say this will not be my last reading.

I will be honest though, when I finished this story I had strong mixed feelings about it. My immediate reaction was "what the hell did I just read"! While some pieces of this story will never sit right with me, I did some compartmentalizing and started to process everything.

After letting my mind sift through everything I read, I realized that there were things about Lilly that were relatable on some sort of level for me. What she was feeling in her marriage and her desires are very real thoughts and needs that I think many women may think about at one time or another. But in reality that is where everything stays....in our thoughts.

Things were intense. Things fell on the dark side. Things were freaking HOT. On a sensual level I was brought to my edge, just hanging on for the ride. On an emotional level I was made to think and feel on levels I wasn't always comfortable with. Which I guess is a result of some pretty amazing writing.

Now I know this will be a book that some will just not like, heck I thought I was going to be one of them. But what worked for me was my "compartmentalizing" :) looking at the parts that worked for me and the parts that didn't at all. In the end more worked that didn't work. Kudos to K. Bromberg for going out on the edge. (IMO)

Damn, this story made me SO damn angry! I get that it's meant to build suspense, etc., but it didn't work for me AT ALL. What I want to say is, it pissed me off! This was my second story from K Bromberg and I disliked Driven, too.

Okay, deep breath...what I liked:
--I liked the MC. Maybe I even loved her.
--I believed she was where she was and in the situation she was in. I felt for her and there were no slips in her character. I felt every breath, every moan, every sob.
--I liked the story idea. Very solid. Until that ending.

What I didn't like:
--Her douchebag husband.
--The douchebag ending. Maybe it's meant to be feisty and clever?

** 4 "Ora sei libero" STARS **

Lilly has always been in love with her husband of 10 years, Anderson. She still is... But years of marriage and kids have changed things in their relationship. Lilly misses the old times when they were dating in College...when their sex life was adventurous, spontaneous and satisfying. She needs more. Not that Anderson isn't enough, no, but she just needs to feel their connection again.

For their 10th wedding anniversary they decide to go to Italy. Just the 2 of them. But as usual, Anderson needs to go back for business and Lilly is left alone in Italy, drinking in a bar, thinking about when her life became so...boring. That's when a handsome stranger starts eyeing her and she is in fact attracted to him. They nod at each other from where they are seated in the bar and the stranger sends her a drink from across the room.

When Lilly leaves the bar, she feels a bit too dizzy for only 2 drinks. When her mind blurs completely, she realizes that the stranger from the bar is there...to abduct her.

"No one has claimed you yet, no? (...) Bene. You are mine, then."

Her captor with the peppermint scented cologne is Lilly's every fantasy coming to life at once. His every action is exactly what she always wanted from her husband.

"Bella, by the time I'm done with you, you'll be begging me to f*ck you again. You'll yearn to please me, crave my touch. You'll cry when I leave you to go back to your everyday life."

Lilly both hates and loves what is happening to her. Her body keeps betraying her and after a while...she just stops resisting and tries to enjoy.

Was that me yesterday? Resistant and unwilling, then accepting and compliant on turn of a dime. ~LILLY

At first we think there's only Lilly and her Captor in the room...but then we learn that there's another man with them: Marco. Apparently, he's been watching them and observing the weird situation all this time! At this point, well...let's just say, he joins the party too. But he never talks. He is completely silent.

AAAAAAAND...

This is where I figured the whole plot twist!!!

It was WAY early... Which is a bummer, because I like to be surprised. I want to be outsmarted. I hate predictability. *sigh* I feel a wee bit disappointed about this, unfortunately...

Anywho... Apart from that little problem, this novella was scorching hot ! Just delicious...

So this was my first K. Bromberg book. Will I be checking out her other work after this hot hot HOT story?

OMG!!!I can't bealive I actually read this!

After reading this I don' t know whether to laugh or cry?!?!...The plot twist was ridiculous and so, so unrealistic.

What sane man hire somebody to rape his wife? And all this for their tenth anniversary! Really?!?!Hmmm...What a gift!!!
The ending is ridiculous too - how obvious is that the husband orchestrated the whole thing, how heroine finds out who is the " mystery man ", how easy accepts his " gift ". ( It doesn't matter you were raped..Nahhh! Life goes on!)

Overall

Oh... and Anderson.. next time...

to find out what she wants!?!

Duhh!

AHEM....throat clearing is happening! WHEW....ummmm, need a minute to process and maybe get a cold glass of H2O!

Well, that was a bit of literary porn, lol! You typical unhappy housewife finds herself alone in another country...stranded by her workaholic hubby. She is desperately needing some excitement. She loves her husband, but really needs more...she was even brave enough to ask for it, only to be looked at as "dirty."!

What started as an innocent look across the bar at an attractive stranger and a single drink turns into an adventure of a lifetime. Kidnapped...blindfolded...scared...yet aroused and granted every single taboo fantasy ever imagined. How can you ever go back????

When the adventure ends...home is needed...comfort from her husband...the night locked away...BUT how can she ever forget the amazing pleasure found or the fear and the stimulation that overtook her? Well, it seems as if she may not have to keep her secret...seems as if her husband may have just unraveled her!!!!

Yes it is a very erotic read ...... But that's stating the obvious!

...... Lily is a wife and a mother and so many of you will relate to her and her life without doubt! The erotic part of the story, can you relate to that? Maybe, maybe not? ...... but the story is so well written you will keep reading until the end to find out how and why Lily's life changed forever, and it wasn't what I was expecting.

I will read anything K.Bromberg writes because she certainly knows how to keep you engaged in a story!

A Fantastic read!

FMC - Lily: 4 🌟
MMC - Anderson: 3 🌟
SPICE: 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶

LIKES:
The way Bromberg dives immediately into the emotional wounds of a marriage in crisis. No slow build — just raw, aching honesty from page one

Lily’s vulnerability -- her fear of being unwanted, unappreciated, and invisible in her own marriage felt painfully real and relatable

The dark twist -- what looked like a spontaneous Italy fling turns into a kidnapping… and then develops into a pretty interesting twist in the end (which I had guessed pretty quickly, though :p)

The emotional payoff -- the final conversations where they actually talk — genuinely talk — about where things fell apart and what they’re willing to do to fix it

The spice -- dark, edgy, playing with power, tension, and forbidden desire. It’s absolutely not for everyone, but it was very well-executed for what it was

DISLIKES:
The premise requires a massive suspension of disbelief. The entire premise is wildly unrealistic, but I was still able to enjoy it, for the most part

But if you can leave your morals behind and enjoy a book for what it is, fiction, then you can enjoy this too!

Thank you to Valentine PR for the opportunity to read this ARC 💕

2 Hmmm…What? Stars

This is the story of Lil and her husband Anderson. They have been together for 15 years, and in that time their relationship has lost the sizzle it once had. While away on their 10th anniversary Anderson is called away for business. Lil continues with their trip, goes to dinner, and accepts a drink from a handsome stranger.

Next thing Lil knows she is waking up naked and tied to a bed, but she isn’t alone.

Here’s what I am thinking…

Lil has been in a committed relationship with Anderson for 15 years. In that time they have had children, careers, and I am sure other things that have separated themselves from each other. Their sex life has become mundane and scheduled. She knows they will have sex twice a week, it will be missionary style, and she knows she will have to fake the BIG O.

Reading this I felt for Lil, I know this is a common problem in marriages, because everyone has so many commitments and responsibilities. I felt for her when she found pleasure from other men, because it was clear that although these were fantasies of hers she never intended to act them out without her husband.

Here is where I am at though…the plot twist - REALLY?

I wasn’t surprised. I actually suspected that was the case, but the believability wasn’t there for me. There is the issue of logistics, but mainly most men would not be down with that…especially a man like Anderson who had issues with the original findings in her closet.

Hey to each their own, this is just my humble opinion.

‘I should have never looked up.’

Kristy brings suspenseful intrigue, passion and dark repressed and hidden secrets to light in UnRaveled. As a reader you’ll be pushed to the edge of your comfort zone by the events unfolding, as you feel overcome by conflicting emotions. The sexual discovery in Lilly’s story may push your boundaries, yet the brilliant writing makes it enticing, gripping and eye-opening as the Author leaves us at the end with enough to spur on the reader’s imagination.

‘Resistance is long gone.’

‘Shame has been obliterated.’

Be prepared for an immediate hard hitting, sinful and seductive journey, as what was meant to be a trip of reconnection turns into a self-fulfilling sexual discovery ! Really enjoyed this one!

Ora sei libero
So, I popped my K. Bromberg cherry with this one. I had no expectations and liked that this one had me upside down and turned around from the get go. . This was an original story. The writing was solid and the language was dirty and HOT!

"I will fuck you as I see fit. I will use you, own you, make you mine."

I liked that Ms. Bromberg flirts with the edges of one's morals - perceptions of right or wrong - and does it in a highly erotic and sensual way. Will be checking out her Driven series!

One night.
One mistake.
Filled with fear.
Sated by pleasure.
Robbed of control.
Blindfolded and bound.
Shamed she liked it.
Doomed to want it.
Limits tested.
Boundaries pushed.
Desire awakened.
Inhibition unleashed.
An identity unraveled.
Lives changed forever.

Well this being my first time reading K.Bromberg, I must say I was I impressed on how she was able to tell Lily's story. Yes, this is a bit dark, twisted, and has a shocking ending but it will have you glued to your kindle as secrets and fantasies begins to unraveled.
