5+ Stars to this story of a love that last a lifetime! So I don't read much of the M/F genre anymore I am a hardcore M/M reader. However, when I saw this sign up and what it was about, I caved. I am SO GLAD I did, this is one book that you don't want to miss!! I got this book on my kindle last night and I stayed up all night reading it, Couldn't put it down - was crying, laughing, and just so enthralled in the story that before I knew it I had read the night away!!

We have all seen Curtis Walker in "The Walker Brothers Series" which follows each of Lorrie and Curtis boys as they find love in amazing places. Did you ever wonder though where those Walker Brothers learned all their special ways to treat the people they love? Well after reading this book it won't be a secret anymore, Curtis Walker is the ultimate southern gentleman and Lorrie is his one and only. It is no wonder after the Walker brothers grew up in this household that they all have such as sense of commitment and devotion for each other.

This story is sweet, it is full of FEELZ, Curtis will continuously make you swoon and gasp as you watch him and Lorrie fall in love and start their lives together.

From their First Kiss:
"Never met a boy I wanted to kiss."
"What about me?"
Her glittering eyes darkened slightly as they slid down to his mouth, and Curtis instantly knew that she wanted to kiss him.
Just as he'd expected, she didn't answer him; instead she turned the question back on him. "Have you ever kissed a girl?"
"Yep," he admitted truthfully, trying to keep the pride out of his voice.
"A lot of girls?"
"No." Curtis knew he couldn't say yes. That wouldn't get him anywhere. And the truth was he hadn't kissed but three or four.
"How Many?"
Figuring Lorrie was not about to give up, Curtis knew he needed a distraction. Shifting so he was facing her, straddling the tree trunk as he eased closer. The muscles in his stomach tightened as he closed the distance between them.
"What're you doin'?" she asked breathlessly, lips pursed when he bumped her thigh with his knee.
"Will you let me kiss you, Lorrie?"
He kept his eyes locked with hers, heart the slight hitch in her breath, saw the way her eyes widened. But she didn't say no.
Still, he needed her to say yes.
"Will you?" He repeated.
"You want to kiss me?"
"So badly," he admitted.

To the official beginning of their Marriage:
"I love you," he whispered. "God, Lorrie. I love you more than anything. I need you. I can't imagine my life without you in it."

"From the day I met you, I knew you would be my girl, Lorrie. You captivated me with your pretty blue eyes and your sassy little mouth. Even though you irritated me at the same time, it was the greatest feeling in the world. I knew you would be my girl forever and a day." He took a breath. "No man is gonna force me to do anything I don't wanna do. But more than that, no man is gonna take you away from me. You hear me? Do you understand what I'm tellin' you? I love you. With every breath I take. I would be honored if you'd be my wife."

I honestly don't know which Walker Man I love more at this point!!!

I can say that this is an amazing book and Nicole Edwards has outdone herself! Her storytelling and the way she did this time lapse style plot was amazing, it is very hard to pull off a time lapse with perfection, then lets add it a time lapse that has to correlate with an entire other series. Amazing!! I am in awe of her writing skills and I think you will be too!!

I really don't want to give a bunch away about this story because I think you just really need to experience it, this is the Ultimate Happily ever after and you will be so happy you read it.

Sign me up for a man Like Curtis Walker and a Love that lasts a lifetime!!

CURTIS (Coyote Ridge #1) #mustclick #5stars http://amzn.to/1Rkqvas

I am going to start my saying I am struggling to find the words to relay my love of this book. Yes, Nicole Edwards is an author whose books I adore, but Curtis takes that to a whole new level. With literary genius Ms Edwards provides the reader with a glimpse inside a love that spans 5 decades.
I loved that CURTIS is not told in flashbacks. You see their love story from the beginning (starting in 1962) as well as the present day.

The first time there two meet was hysterical, very much not what one would expect and it takes sometime for the reader to truly understand the context of that meeting and its deeper meaning as it relates to the larger story but wow did it work so well! It even comes back into play years later and was so well done. Truly speaking to all it takes to keep a marriage together for so long.

Though I loved Curtis, as the father to 7 men, the Curtis I meet from the opening page of this one stole my heart!

Curtis the book is broken down into three Parts, I will not tell why or how they place in the story but I will say that are perfectly done!

Curtis is very clear about his love for Lorrie….
“I’ve always believed for every person there was only one love that would last a lifetime. I never understood quite what it meant until I met you though. You’re it for me, Lorrie. You are my love that lasts a lifetime.”

Though I will say in part 2 there were times he made my eyes tear and I wanted to strangle him for making Lorrie so upset… (nope not what you think, you will likely never guess read the book)

This book is an emotional journey from the very beginning, it’s both sweet and intensely sexy and at times I may have shed a tear or two. The author’s amazing literary pose shares this story of a deep love that spans 5 decades.
The tool uses was masterful and I was glued to my kindle throughout this epic journey. It was so touching to read about the things we knew these two went through, like the birth of each son (so fun to read Lorrie’s thought in those moments) but more than that it was so enjoyable to read what we didn’t know. Those who have read the Alluring Indulgence series, the Walker brother’s stories might have wondered things like why were Curtis and Lorrie married so many years before the birth of Travis their oldest son; well you get the answer to that question and so much more!

I loved how the name of the town (well now the series name) plays into the story - it exemplified what a wonderful and truly caring man Curtis is.

I will say part 3 takes part in the present day, and this one not only reinforced Curtis’ devotion and love for Lorrie and his family he made me call even more in love with the Walker boys (well men). Despite the heavy nature of this section, and the heart pounding OMG this can’t be happening, the author managed to weave in moments of laughter and humor. Travis, OMG such a wonderful man, his protective nature shown thru; oh and there is a chat with Ethan and Curtis that stole my heart. Kaleb and Zoe the two this all started with also have some wonderful moments in this part. And that way tool Ms Edwards used in this book to provide the reader with Lorrie’s voice was hysterical in this section!

Trust is I could go on and on about all I loved about this one but I think it is best to say read the book, it is a beautifully written epic love story!

This book is standalone and the first book in the Coyote Ridge series. You do not need to read the Alluring Indulgence (AI) series to read and LOVE CURTIS. If you want to read the sexy Walker brothers (Lorrie and Curtis’s sons), you read the Alluring Indulgence (AI) series either before or after you read CURTIS.

This was a really good read. I love reading Ms. Edwards books this one was just what I needed at this time in my life. Curtis and Lorrie Walker have been together for more than 50 years they have been through the good the bad and the ugly. Curtis Walker was 16 when his father died and Lorrie was forced by her father to go and talk to him she was 14. Curtis is forced to marry her when she is 15 years old and with a some what rocky start he joins the army that gives them both time apart to grow up. This was a good read when Curtis gets home they are both older and begin having sex Curtis is a dirty talker and Lorrie loves it. When they get pregnant and miss carry they are both heartbroken it is five years later when their first son is born. All of this takes place as they both look back over their past. Lorrie become ill with an infection and the doctors don't know where it is coming from. Curtis becomes fearful that he is going to lose the woman that he loves more than life he learns to lean on his sons and their other halves to get him through it. Lorrie is a fighter she doesn't want to leave Curtis or her family she still has more grandbabies to meet. I love this family they are warm and welcoming and willing to help those in need. I also liked when Sawyer was telling the story of the time him and Travis heard Curtis and Lorrie having sex. Zoey also told Kaleb that him and Curtis had some things in common when she read one of Lorries diaries. This was a really good read that I loved this book had love and the strength of family in it. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Tenderly sweet story of innocence and true love. Curtis' character was not what I expected. His sincere gentleness towards Lorrie took me by surprise. A truly perfect hero. Loved seeing their journey from childhood to present day.

This story was just soooooo lovely. Well done and what an insight we got of Curtis and Lorrie.

"I've always believed for every person there was only one love that would last a lifetime I never understood quite what it meant until I met you though. You're it for me, Lorrie. You are my love that lasts a lifetime" Curtis Walker

and this really sums up what this book is about- the trials that come within a relationship, the strength that they give each other - a love that withstood the test of time and a love that was 50 years in the making.

loved it.

"What?” Curtis asked, looking from one boy to the next. “Y’all think you were the only wild ones in Coyote Ridge?”

I absolutely love the Walker family, and the love story of Curtis and Lorrie was everything I hoped for. Love, laughter, tears, heartbreak, and steam - this book packs it all into the pages as we live 50+ years of history with them.

Normally I would write a long-ish review with all kinds of details on the feels, but that opening paragraph completely sums up this book for me. As we experience Curtis and Lorrie's relationship from their teen years forward, it is easy to see where their boys eventually get their personalities and sometimes mischievous sides. Although the early years of their marriage weren't easy, they formed a deep bond that stood the test of time. When the going got tough, I knew it would be OK in the end but my heart still broke for them anyway as events that were alluded to or briefly mentioned in the AI series played out in detail on the pages of this book. There was no shortage of intimate moments between them whether it was a sweet exchange, a tender kiss, a quiet conversation, a sexy letter or a smokin hot sex scene. And there were plenty of those smokin moments as you would expect from one of Nicole's books!

As the book opens, the prologue is set in the present day, and Curtis is at Lorrie's side as she faces a scary medical moment. He is clearly shaken, and as the first chapter goes back to the beginning of their lives together filling in the blanks with those moments I just mentioned, you have a complete understanding of their bond by the time the story comes full circle to resolve the present issue facing them. All of the Walker boys and their significant others are by their sides, and there were some funny moments as Zoey revealed tidbits from the journals Lorrie kept from the day she met Curtis until now (with Lorrie's permission of course).

You can easily read Curtis without having read the AI series- but if you haven't, you are missing out on a wonderful set of stories so get on that!! Fans of all Nicole's series will be happy to see a hint of an upcoming book featuring Jared Walker and a familiar face from the Dead Heat Ranch series too ;-) In the meantime, set aside a few hours to fall in love with the clan matriarch and patriarch.

“You are my love that lasts a lifetime, Lorrie. No matter what obstacle we encounter, no matter what path life leads us on, you will always be the most important thing in my life."

I don't really like books that are mostly set in the past nor do I normally read books about the parent/ grandparents! They're not something I've ever really enjoyed and I wasn't sure about reading this story. Saying that I'm so glad I did.

I have loved every Nicole Edwards book I have read so far and this book was no different. Curtis and Lorrie were the matriarch's of the family and I loved them in every book we have seen them in.

Curtis wasn't anything like I expected him to be, he was amazing and I loved him from the very first page. He treated Lorrie like a princess. He sacrificed so much trying to do the right thing.

Lorrie was also great, there were a few times I wished she had done things differently but she was a great character! Her home life wasn’t good and her father was a horrible person, I felt so sorry for her when she was a child.

I always feel a connection to the characters Nicole Edwards writes, they always have something that makes them loveable and I always hate to see the end of their story!

This book had me feeling a slew of different emotions and I have to say I did cry more than once. This was a beautiful story filled with love, loss, happiness and family!

I can't wait to see where Nicole takes us next.

"So your old man forced you to come over here?"
"Yep."
"To see one of my sisters?"
"Nope."
"My mom?"
"Uh-uh."
"My brother?"
"Wrong again."
"Then who? Me?"
"Mm-hmm."

There is nothing better to walk down memory lane with Nicole Edward's Walker Brothers. And when I found out this was Curtis's story-Walker Boys dad...OHHHH MYYY GAWD...I WAS IN HEAVEN!!!

When the story begins...Curtis is almost 17 and Lorrie Jameson is 14. Both came from HUGE families. Her daddy hated the Walkers, and when Curtis's dad passed away, Lorrie's daddy made her go over to their house to pay Curtis a visit. Lorrie did not know why her daddy wanted her to go over there and she told her daddy she wouldn't go, then her daddy pulled out the belt, so off she went. lol They both came from opposite side of the tracks. The Walkers were very wealthy and the Jameson's were dirt poor as most of the town was. (So this may show your age, or mine as I am writing this review, but I do remember back in the day how poor families would send their daughter over to a wealthier boy's family in hopes they may connect and marry their daughter off for a better life or for their own gain??)

As I read this book, it spans the years of Curtis and Lorrie dating, getting married, Curtis going off to war, them contacting each other while he was gone off fighting for our country and then when he came back and them having all those wonderful Walker boys.. lol And yes, if you want to know, I will say it...lol...there is no shortage of wonderful romance scenes that we all know Nicole is sooo bad ass at writing!!! *sighs...yes...she always makes me blush* lol

I cried and I got goosebumps reading this book, it is the perfect story of their love for each other and made me even reminisce about my own Grandparents stories and even my own parents, seeing similarities in their marriages... This book was sooo touching and will forever have a very special place in my heart!!!

I gave this book 5 iScream Books Stars, and yes, if there was a higher grading of Stars..I would give it soo much more!! Curtis's story is off the charts!!!

PS Nicole Edwards, I would freaking love for you to write all your Walker Boys stories again as older men!!! You gave a small glimpse of them in their adult lives in this book and ohhhh Lawd...you made me crave them soooo much more!!! Pretty Please!!!! lol

Thank you for writing this book and Cheers to you woman!!! xxoo

“You are my love that lasts a lifetime.”

Y’all… This book tho… It’s so much a steamy Nicole Edwards book, but it’s so much more.

The feels. Guys, the feels. It was hard for me to read this book, yet I couldn’t put it down. It one thing to read about the struggles a couple goes through in order to get to that marriage point. In honesty, that’s mostly the type of stories I read. To read a book where the struggles come after the wedding… a whole different kind of feels. Being a married woman, to imagine going through the things Lorrie went through… My heart broke for her so many times. Broke. For. Her. We already knew she was a strong woman to have dealt with the 7 rowdy Walker brothers she gave birth to, but this book gave me left me in awe of her.

Curtis was the devoted, charming, sexy man we already knew him to be. I wanted to hate him at times because my heart hurt so much for Lorrie, but I knew deep inside my hurting heart, he only had her best interests in mind when he made the decisions he made. He couldn’t be more adoring, more perfect. This story couldn’t have been more perfect.

I can’t wait for all Nicole Edwards fans to read this book. It is a MUST READ! I’ve never had one of her books touch me the way Curtis did. Curtis was heartfelt and endearing, but still full of the heat and passion we expect from this author. I can’t recommend this book enough.

I love romance that stands the test of time.
I'm almost embarrassed to say but this is my first Nicole Edwards book. Don't judge. And yes, I wish I had started back in the day but it is what it is.
I love true romance stories, or what I love to call "home grown" romances. Curtis and Lorrie knew each other from young children and formally met when he was 17 and she was 14. Ulterior motives and circumstance brought them together but really passion and true love kept them together.
Nicole Edwards begins their story from that first formal meeting and spans the time of 50 years journalling their love and life together. I really enjoyed how she used the character Lorrie's diary entries to imply and show us, the readers, her feelings for Curtis Walker. She also showed us the sass and strength in Lorrie.
When Curtis goes off to the army, the letters shared between him and Lorrie are heartfelt, vulnerable and again show how their love withstood distance and time. I love how the author depicts their love as something truly sacred and worth fighting for even when things aren't always easy.
And like her story being "home grown," I thoroughly enjoyed that Nicole Edwards style of writing "fit" the story, if that makes sense. It was simple, sincere, and heartfelt. There wasn't anything forced or contrived so to speak.
I will definitely be reading about the rest of the Walker men.

"You are my love that lasts a lifetime."

I have loved the stories about all the Walker children, but now it is time to head back to where it all began with their parents, Curtis and Lorrie.

What a beautiful love story theirs is. Over 5 decades their love never waivered, just grew stronger ever single day. They truly are the love of each others lives.

I always knew that they must have married young, but I was surprised at how young they were!

And we soon learn where the Walker brothers get their romantic streak from. They sure know how to treat their women, and they get it all from their Pop

"You are the reason I breathe. the reason my heart beats. I will go to the ends of the earth to make you happy. I hope you know that. Not hearing your voice, not seeing your beautiful face... Those are the things that tear me up each and every day. But I can still hear you crying on the phone when I did call, and your tears have the power to break me. you are my only weakness Lorrie. I know I couldn't do what needed to be done, knowing you were so upset."

Swoon! I mean seriously, where are the men like this in my life???

We all know Ms Edwards writes steamy, hot, sexy books (that I love!) - but sometimes a beautiful, heartwarming romance is what we all need, and is what we got.

I laughed, I cried, I ran through the whole gamut of emotions as I read, and didn't want Curtis and Lorrie's book to come to an end.

Now am wondering who's story will be next in the Coyote Ridge series.

The first book in new series Coyote Ridge, Curtis tells the love story of over fifty years of the parents of the famous Walker brothers. I was a bit apprehensive of how this was going to be and would it be like reading about your parent’s sex life haha as being a big fan of the Walkers Brothers series, Curtis and Lorrie have become kind of like my fictional parents. Let me just say this book was fabulous and amazing and no there was no cringing behind my kindle!

I always knew that Curtis and Lorrie were special people, after all how could they produce such wonderful men with all the special qualities they hold? They have always told their boys to hold out for that one special person meant only for them, their soul mate which Curtis and Lorrie are. Their love started from a very young 14 and 17 years old to one that is everlasting.

The story takes us through the years, from the first meeting with a young feisty Lorrie standing up to the tall lanky but handsome Curtis, to the present day. The decades through the sixties, seventies, eighties and so on were an emotional ride that saw the pair suffer lows of extreme pain and loss to the ultimate highs of love and family. There was also a lot of super steamy hot love between this sexy pair, no wonder they went on to have seven lusty boys!

I have always loved Curtis and Lorrie and to see how they evolved over the years was a great insight. From the beautiful feisty young girl who grows into the beautiful resolute Lorrie and the lanky handsome boy who grows into the strong protective gorgeous but sensitive Curtis.

A truly emotive and outstanding read of love, loss, passion and ultimate devotion. This is one not to miss out on and another amazing read from Nicole Edwards. Five stars plus.

Curtis is was a nostalgic, romantic trip back in time before the Walker boys came to be. Just a boy himself, Curtis Walker has always been a pinnacle of strength and the patriarch of the infamous Walker clan. I have read all the stories of the children, but this one was unique and very special. I’ll admit when I first started reading Curtis, I was a little skeptical because of the period in which the story was set. I can honestly say that I have never read a book set during that time, but I will be the first to say that it didn't take me long to get sucked into the beautiful love story of Curtis and Lorrie.

Youth, loss, betrayal, the love between the Walker parents withstood so many obstacles, yet the heartache that these two wonderful people went through is a true testament to what love and marriage is all about. Their story was so splendidly written that Nicole takes you back to a time of change, a time of innocence, and a time where life was that simple, or so you think. Who knew that Daddy Walker was such an alpha though? Some scenes so hot and heavy that I was completely lost to the fact that this is the same man that I have read about in other books.

If you’ve ever truly been in love, then you will absolutely understand the dynamic between Curtis and Lorrie. This is one that will leave you with that warm feeling that makes you smile on your face and love in your heart. It will remind you why we all fell in love with Nicole Edwards and these wonderful characters to begin with.

** ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

Curtis ( A Coyote Ridge Novel) was a 5 star read for me. And if I could, I would rate it even higher. I haven't read a book in the past several months that made me smile, laugh, cry and hold my breathe like Curtis did. I read it all in one day. It grabbed my attention and held it. Which as of late, is a huge accomplishment.

Curtis is the first book in the new series Coyote Ridge by Nicole Edwards. It is a spin-off of the Alluring Indulgence Series.

Curtis and Lorrie's love story is just that...a love story. The love these 2 people have is the rarest and is the most beautiful thing. We learn how they meet, how they adapted to marriage, death, babies, and just living life. I always loved reading about Curtis and Lorrie in the Alluring Indulgence Series that was about all of their boys and significant others and the love they found with each other. I could always see that Curtis was a bossy, dirty talking, fun loving man. Lorrie was the heart of the family. But she still had a spunky, fun, and loving demeanor about herself. In this book, you find out how they became these people and just how strong each of them are by themselves and even stronger as a couple.

Curtis is going to go on my list of favorite re-reads for sure. I can't wait for more from this author and this new series.

I haven't read any of the previous stories featuring the Walker boys so I had never been introduced to Curtis and Lorrie. I have always loved when an author would offer backstories on the parents of a popular group. Normally though I would have already read the others. I am SO glad that I read this book. What an epic love story that will - in fact - last a lifetime.

We start off at the first meeting between Curtis and Lorrie and end 50+ years later. Nicole Edwards takes her readers by hand, with letters, diary entries and dialog to guide our path. So many emotions permeated this book. You literally feel every single one of them. Fear, loss, longing, love, pain, grief.

I don't think that there is one bad thing that I could say about this book. I was pulled in right from the first age to the last, and to be honest, by the ending I had chewed every single nail on my hand down to the quik.

This is my confession: If you haven't read the Alluring Indulgence Series featuring the 7 Walker boys...You will.

Nicole Edwards has written one of the most memorable romances I have ever read. When you fall in love with characters from a series you tend to fall in love with the whole family, as I have with the Walker Family.
Curtis and Lorrie's story is packed full of everything from love to deception to pain and right back to love again....... and the sex, Lord, the sex!!

For all of those that have followed the Walker family you don't want to miss this one! It was kind of weird for me following the parents of so many kids that I read getting their kink on but it all worked out. A bit of a slow start but the last 3/4 of the book really came through for me.

A love story spanning over 50 years. I thought Lorrie & Curtis's story (parents of the infamous Walker Brothers from the Alluring Indulgence series) was absolutely perfect - both funny and at times had me in tears.

I'm so glad that Nicole Edwards decided to write their story.

This is a spin-off from "The Alluring Indulgence Series" and the first in the series. This is the story of Curtis Walker and Lorrie Walker, from their first meeting, to dating, marriage, and building a family of the Walker sons.
This was an incredible story of how the Walker family came to be. I loved it and recommend it for anyone who has read or not read "The Alluring Indulgence Series." The family dynamics of these two people who struggled from the beginning love, marriage, separated/but together, and to having a family.
