I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the second book in the Butler's romance series. I enjoyed the previous book, so I decided to try this one too. If you haven't read the first book, this one works as a standalone.

I quickly took a liking to both Jamie and Alicia, and wanted to get to know them better. Once I felt the spark, I found that I was turning the pages quickly in anticipation. There were some satisfyingly spicy moments, but I felt the romance was still the focus.

This book felt quite wintry, but it warmed my heart and left me smiling. I wouldn't have minded being snowed in with Jamie myself.

Thank you to Booksirens and the author for a free copy to review.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5 stars)

Amber Cooper’s "Snowed in with a Scotsman" is a delightful, heartwarming romance that sweeps readers into a wintry tale of unexpected love. The second book in 'The Butlers' Romance Series', it offers a blend of passion, humor, and emotional depth, set against the backdrop of a beautiful Scottish estate. Fans of the series will find this book just as engaging as its predecessor, with a few notable improvements in character development and narrative pacing.

Plot & Setting:
The plot is as charming as it is entertaining. We meet the strong-willed, independent heroine, Emily, who finds herself stranded at a remote Scottish manor due to a fierce snowstorm. Little did she expect, the only other guest trapped there is none other than the enigmatic and brooding Scotsman, Alistair MacLeod. The tension between them is palpable from the start, with Emily’s initial resistance to Alistair’s charm gradually giving way to undeniable attraction.

The snowbound setting is ideal for a romance novel—isolated, intimate, and a perfect breeding ground for both conflict and connection. Cooper skillfully uses the cold and the seclusion to deepen the characters' emotional journeys. The slow-burn romance that emerges from this confined space is a true highlight of the book.

Characters:
Emily is an engaging and well-rounded protagonist. She’s not just a damsel in distress but a woman with her own agency, goals, and past that shape her reactions to Alistair. Her development from skepticism toward the Scotsman to full-blown affection feels natural and is a testament to Cooper’s writing.

Alistair, the hero of the story, is the kind of brooding, mysterious man who can be both frustrating and utterly irresistible. His character arc—coming to terms with his past and learning to open his heart—was well-executed, though it did take some time for him to truly engage emotionally with Emily. His Scottish accent and rugged nature were particularly well-described and added an element of charm to his persona.

The chemistry between Emily and Alistair is electric, and their witty banter brings levity to the otherwise intense emotional beats. Their developing relationship feels earned, making their eventual romance all the more satisfying.

Writing Style:
Amber Cooper’s writing is smooth and engaging, making it easy to immerse oneself in the story. Her use of humor is particularly refreshing, with the dialogue sparkling with wit and clever exchanges. The narrative is well-paced, with just the right amount of tension and moments of levity to balance out the heavier emotional themes.

The descriptions of the Scottish landscape and the manor are vivid, capturing the wintry beauty of the setting without overwhelming the reader. The snowstorm itself becomes almost a character in the story, playing a central role in both the plot and the emotional arc.

Themes:
At its core, this novel explores themes of vulnerability, trust and healing. Both Emily and Alistair have their emotional scars, and the book delicately explores how love can be a path toward overcoming personal pain. There’s also a sense of self-discovery, as Emily realizes she deserves love and happiness, and Alistair learns to open his heart again.

The romance is heartwarming, but the book also touches on deeper emotional layers, including the impact of family, past regrets, and personal growth.

Final Thoughts:
Overall, "Snowed in with a Scotsman" is a very captivating and emotional read that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Amber Cooper delivers a story that is both steamy and heartfelt, with well-developed characters and a beautiful, snowy setting that only enhances the romance. The book is a perfect choice for readers looking for a compelling, slow-burn romance with a dash of humor and plenty of emotional depth.

While the pacing does slow slightly in the middle, it is ultimately a feel-good, satisfying romance that will have you rooting for the characters and wishing you could spend a snowy night by the fire with them. Fans of Scottish historical romance or anyone who loves a good winter romance will find this book to be an absolute treat.

A perfect read for cozying up with a cup of tea and getting lost in a world of romance, snow, and Scottish charm.

Snowed in with a Scotsman is a delectable contemporary romance with a lot of heart, a dash of spice, and everything nice surrounded by the natural beauty of Scotland. With themes relating to mental health, privilege, betrayal, trust, as well as finding and being true to one's self - while keeping the overall tone from being too serious. It's a great heartwarming, spicy yet cozy read. ❄️

📖 I thought the plot was great! I loved the meet cute and don't believe I've ever read one quite like that. I love Cooper has both MCs heal themselves, as opposed to relying on the other to heal them.

It touched on some serious topics (gender inequality and revenge 🌽 to name a couple) with grace and dignity. I appreciate that Cooper did this in a way that doesn't detract from it feeling like a romance book. It feels like you're watching a Hallmark movie, in a good way.

✍️🏼 I enjoyed Cooper's writing a lot. I found it to flow well and read easily. Great writing.

"His voice was muted but the undercurrent was suppressed incandescence..."

I'm a big fan of using unexpected words to describe things (like the quote ⬆️ from this book).

The dialogue is great (although I didn't love a couple lines of dialogue), overall. I loved the little bits of dry humor and word play. Anyone who follows me has likely noticed my love of word play. 😄

👥 I enjoyed the characters so much! They're well developed and read like they're real people full of personalities and backstories. I'm sure if I read the previous book in the series I would love some of the secondary characters even more.

⏳️It's well paced. I didn't notice any lagging or pointless meandering.

💞 I love that Cooper took the time to show their relationship grow from strangers to reluctant neighbors, then friends to lovers.

🌶 The spice was really good (private sauna 🥵). It was well paced and placed, well written.

I didn't love the number of times Jamie being well endowed was pointed out. The wording used to point it out a few times also wasn't my favorite. There's so much more to love about Jamie than the size of his package. I also didn't love some of the 🌶 dialogue.

All that being said, it IS a romance book, so maybe there are more of a me thing than specific to this book. 🤔

📚 If you like The Highland Fling by Megan Quinn, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Joanna Bolouri, The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan, and/or Unfixable by Tessa Bailey I think you would enjoy this book.

Thank you to @ambercooperbooks and @lovebookstours for the opportunity to read this eARC. Opinions expressed are my own left by my choosing.

Uplifting, cosy and spicy romance in scenic Scottish settings.
Alicia is desperate for a break and to escape her career and relationship baggage, and Jamie needs an escape after his long term breakup, and to think of ideas for his family's Whisky business.
After mistaking Jamie for the hotel porter, and a string of further awkward encounters, being snowed in together in a hut was the last thing Alicia anticipated.
I loved the character development, although there were snippets of drama and miscommunication, it was nice to see their genuine connection grow.
They both needed to do some self healing, and they made the perfect pair.
There was a good amount of spice, including steamy sauna scenes, forced proximity and some intimate artistic modeling.
The use of Scottish phrases also made me fully immersed in the atmosphere and there's a handy glossary at the beginning too.
The story explores insecurities, bitter exes, healing journeys, and lots of passion.

Jaime and Alisha. The Scotsman and the American. This was a great book. They meet and connect immediately, even though they are both at this little retreat to escape their own lives. I liked how they started with an uneasy friendship that grew into something more. Once they are back in the real world, will their lives be the same without each other? I kind of think they won't, they were drawn together, be it fate or lucky coincidence but when two people click the way they did, it seems to precious to ignore. Can they build a life together? How can they when they live in different continents? You will have to read it to find out what happens. I know I will be reading more of this author's work!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was my first read by this author and so I wasn't sure what to expect - but was completely drawn in by the cover and title which promised an interesting Scottish romance.

I absolutely love books set in Scotland - I don't know what it is ....maybe the fact I've never explored much of this part of the UK and so just love experiencing it through fiction.
The wilderness, the extreme weather and the romance of the landscape, I love it all!

I wasn't too sure about Alicia at first. Being a celebrity, you really do have to have a certain personality (even if that's just for show) - and I'm so the opposite that I often struggle to relate.
But, I hated that she'd been treated badly by her ex and she definitely grew on me the more the storyline progressed.

Jamie, similarly steering clear of love after his ex cheated on him, just wanted to get away from it all - but the two find themselves snowed into a small cabin and feelings just can't be denied.

This was one of those books that you absolutely know where things are heading and it's just a case of strapping in and holding on tight as we navigate the bumps along the way.
This was super spicy which I loved and I honestly just couldn't put this down!

The writing style was easy to read and full of fun. I especially loved the inclusion and use of the Scottish dialect - which some may struggle with, but I think I've read enough books now to get by and this really does add to the whole atmosphere.

This is actually the second book in the Butlers' Romance Series and I totally didn't realise until I came to write the review!
A great read which worked well as a standalone read - but I'm definitely going to need to grab book 1 and catch up!!

Oohh, if I didn't want to visit a scottish lodge (never done these even though I'm scottish) before reading this, I definitely do now.... especially if I got to meet a man like Jamie! 🥵

Anyhoo... I digress! I enjoyed reading this, and having it based in Scotland and the author using Scottish Dialect throughout was great! And for those of you who don't speak or understand us Scots, there is a wee glossary at the start explaining what words mean what! I even learned a new meaning for a word - as that's not what we use it for in my area 😂

It really was a journey of healing, self-discovery, and love for both our MCs. I enjoyed how the author allows the characters' story to develop, allowing us as the reader to connect with them and feel their emotions, worries, and doubts. Not only that, the authors writing really brought the scottish scenery alive!

This is perfect for any Rom Com/ Romance readers, so curl up on the sofa, grab a hot drink and snacks, and be prepared to visit the scottish mountains

This one certainly keeps up the standard set by book 1 in this series!

While there are plenty of laughs (and romps), this story covers some pretty serious issues with sensitivity & care.

Both of the main characters (Jamie & Alicia) have had their souls ripped apart by the malicious actions of their ex-lovers - one by infidelity backed by gossip and the other by the horrors of deliberate revenge porn.

Seeing how they start to mend their lives in the snowy Highlands makes this a "must-read" for anyone who appreciates contemporary romances.

(Mind you, simply being set in Scotland, involving painting & whisky makes it a tempting prospect right from the start!)

A great book!!! The way this played out was really great for a cozy read. Just enough story building and a great relationship. As a lesbian, this had me wanting a Scotsman and I don’t even want men 😂😂 some of the internal bickering the Alicia had within her mind was annoying but understandable considered the things she’s gone through. They just work together and this was a great starter read for this series!

Hero More Doormat Than Beta Hero

I've visited Scotland a few times and enjoyed it very much each time, so whenever I see a book that takes place in Scotland or has a Scottish hero or heroine, I have to snap it up! Unfortunately, I found this to be a somewhat peculiar romance. Much of the story does take place in Scotland during the winter, though some time is spent in the United States and Norway. The author is clearly not American, which is fine, of course, but she had her American heroine speaking and thinking words and phrases no Americans would say or think. It jolted me out of the story each time it happened. Surely, the author could have found an American alpha beta reader to ensure the American heroine sounded and thought like an American!

While I am definitely a romance reader who appreciates a well-written beta hero, this hero came across quite often more as a doormat, never a good look for a romantic hero! He quite freely allows the heroine to verbally abuse him nearly as soon as they meet, where she mistakes him for a porter in the resort they are both staying at. (And even before this, what man would allow his ex to continue to live in his home—after the hero moved out because he didn’t want to deal with her—and even all her to move her new boyfriend in the place!) She’s rude and slightly unhinged after HE apologizes to her for being kind and gentlemanly instead of calling out her mistake ... really?!

As you may be able to tell, I didn't like how the heroine treated the hero at first, but that went further than how she treated him after mistaking who he was. Yes, she was really treated horribly by her ex, but that doesn't give her free reign to be rude to any man she comes into contact with afterward. You could see how she slowly warmed up to the gentlemanly, kind-hearted hero. But when things got steamy, it didn't feel organic. I didn't feel like she was “there” yet when things became hot between them. I also wasn't wild about how often both went on and on about how gorgeous or handsome the other was. This really gets tedious in romances. And the intimacy is always crazy good, the best ever. Again, it would be nice if romances occasionally reflected reality! Imperfect moments or looks could Be integrated humorously and even become a part of characterization. Several other aspects of this book did not quite click together--like how his dying dad wanted to sell their boutique family whisky distillery to a faceless conglomerate rather than entrust it to his son--but I won’t discuss them in further detail.

One aspect I enjoyed was how charmingly media-naive the hero is. He grew up in a small Scottish village, sheltered by a large and loving Scottish family. He was more active—surfing, hiking, running--than one who watched TV or was glued to a computer screen more than he had to be. He really has no clue about modern celebrities and contemporary culture—though he is a fan of old films and social media. How refreshing! If only more were like that today! Another thing I did enjoy was the brief time she spent with her Norwegian grandmother. I wish I had a grandmother like that when I was younger! This writer does have some potential, even though it was not realized in this book, but she needs to learn to do a bit more research—and find an American alpha or beta reader if she is going to have American main characters—and provide logical character and couple development.

I received a free digital copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

“ Love Beyond Measure” aka “Snowed in with a Scotsman” is the second instalment in the “The Butler's Whisky Romance Series/The Butlers' Romance Series.” If you like brawny Scottish heroes and steamy snow globe moments, you’ll adore this passionate and magical winter escape. This book just makes me want to curl up, in front of an open fire in the Scottish Highlands, sipping a dram of whiskey 🥃 whilst getting lost the story.

You will fall in love with Alicia and Jamie, they are perfect for each other. At times you will laugh, you will cry, you will even get frustrated, but over all, you have your fingers crossed that everything will work out for them. They compliment each in some many ways - faults and all.

I absolutely loved this story - I was hooked by the first chapter. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! This is a lovely book that will keep you hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, and physical attraction. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story ♥️ From page to page, chapter to chapter, you will enjoy this beautiful story - from cover to cover! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊

I love me a hot Scot. I love forced proximity. I love drama. And I love a happy ending. Snowed in with a Scotsman delivers on all counts, for the most part, and makes for a satisfying winter romance.

Jamie is swoon-worthy—he's got that rugged charm, drinks (and distills) whisky, and has an adventurous streak that's easy to fall for. The Scottish Highlands setting, the secluded mountain bothy, and the tension of being snowed in together set the stage for some seriously steamy moments. The chemistry between Alicia and Jamie was sudden, but undeniable, and those cozy, snowy scenes definitely brought the heat.

But my biggest gripe? Alicia herself. She’s been humiliated and betrayed. She wants to run away, and rightfully so, but where is her righteous anger at Chad (I mean, "Chad"—it’s almost too fitting) for what he did to her? Why didn't she look into legal action, or at least do something to prevent him from doing it again? It felt like a big missed opportunity for her character, and Chad was just too easy to hate without ever really getting any consequences.

And that third-act breakup? It felt like a word count filler. Jamie and Alicia’s falling out seemed contrived and could've been solved with one good, honest conversation. Alicia doubting Jamie so quickly was frustrating, and I don’t buy it being because of Chad. Jamie is nothing like Chad—it's clear as day.

The romance itself was still sweet, and the spice delivered what it needed to. Despite my issues, I enjoyed the journey. If you're into brawny Scotsmen, sizzling forced proximity, and a magical winter setting, this one's worth getting snowed in with.

I received a copy from Hidden Gems and all opinions are my own.

A butler's whiskey romance book 2.
I loved the cover. I did like the Scottish glossary at the beginning of the book. I got into this book straight away. Even though this is book 2. I didn't feel I missed anything. I did love Jamie's character from the start. I loved Alicia too. I did feel for her. I was not surprised by how quickly I read this book. I read in two sittings. I did loved the ending. It was perfect.

Overall I enjoyed this book. Give me a cozy cabin, a quiet hobby (in this case painting), and an escape from the constant hustle, bustle, and demanding connection of daily life, and I'm happy! In this version of that story, there's some inclement weather that helps to draw the main characters together and a scandal to escape. The first 3/4 of the story really captured me and I found myself genuinely caring for and hoping for the best for Jamie and Alicia. There was almost too many barriers to hold me to the very end, but, thankfully Cooper did not disappoint! I would recommend this to someone ready to snuggle up with a cozy (spicy) romance.

There is a note at the start of the novel that describes potentially triggering themes throughout the plot to allow a reader to make an informed decision about whether to continue reading. Of course, I ended up reading the book, but I appreciated the transparency going in!

The author also provides a glossary of Scottish terms found throughout to help with reader comprehension. For me personally, I think it would have been more helpful if I was reading a hard copy of the book rather than an e-book so that I could reference back more readily while reading, however, even just reading it over once, built my confidence in understanding at least some of the more common terms.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Great locale, good & spicy romance😊

4-4.5🌟 stars
What made this a pretty great read were, quite frankly, Scotsman Jamie and the Scottish setting. The plot and characters kept me entertained and hankering for a visit to the Kintyre Peninsula and a spectacular view of the Munros!

The Scottish locale was the reason I gravitated to this book and I was not disappointed. The author's descriptions of the wintery coastal and mountainous countryside, juxtaposed with a cozy night by the fire with whisky in hand: wish I had been there with them!

And Jamie Butler, the male lead, was such an appealing guy. For me, there were maybe a few too many references to his ample equipment. Great that he's handsome and endowed, but his character and connection to his family and community won my admiration first. From the first moment he meets Alicia, he shows he's a considerate, stand-up guy. The further into the story I got, the more his raft of good qualities came through. Alicia, the female lead model/actress/artist, was also sympathetic and she was coping with some serious knocks thanks to her bad boy actor ex-boyfriend, but Jamie was my favorite: no contest.

Having enjoyed this story, I am looking forward to going back and reading the earlier two in this Amber Cooper series and following what transpires with the rest of the Butler brood.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Jamie Butler – one of the seven wonders of Scotland

I think I read this entire book with a huge smile on my face. The writing is beautiful and has a natural, easy flow to it and the author does an amazing job of describing the Scottish landscape, but Jamie Butler… (fans self)

Let me start by saying that Jamie Butler is the stuff dreams are made of. He’s sweet and tender, he’s a natural protector, and he’s (cough, cough) well endowed. Jamie Butler is the type of guy every girl deserves to get snowed in with! What a sweetheart. And for those who like some spice with their romance, buckle up! There’s a lot to get steamed up about in Snowed in with a Scotsman.

This book has a lot of humour, both laugh out loud and subtle, and I’m still chuckling about the Highland Mafia.

This is the first book by Amber Cooper that I’ve read and I can’t wait to read another. If you love Scottish heroes, Scottish settings, Scottish everything, then you’ll love Snowed in with a Scotsman. I highly recommend!

Alicia: You’re a true Scotsman, Jamie Butler.
Jamie: Aye, I am. And I’ll show you how a true Scotsman treats a woman.

Other guys say I love you, but Jamie Butler says, “I’d dance through the streets in tartan underpants with you, if you were up for it.”

Jamie Butler, like this book, should be savoured slowly, like a fine whisky.

Snowed in with a Scotsman is about to make all your cosy winter fantasies come true!

If you like your Scotsmen doing push-ups by candlelight, boiling snow to cook noodles, and making thermal clothing look sexier than it has any right to be, Snowed in with a Scotsman is the book for you!

Alicia, an artist and actress hiding from a Hollywood scandal, mistakes Jamie, a Highland heartthrob and heir to a whisky dynasty, for a porter. The mix-up? Adorable. The chemistry? Off the charts. Their playful banter, tender moments, and the secrets they're hiding make this story impossible to put down.

Let’s be honest: Jamie Butler is swoon-worthy perfection. Strong, sweet, protective, and irresistibly charming with a huge… heart.

With just one bed, a snowstorm raging outside, and steamy sauna shenanigans, you’ll be flipping through the pages faster than the temperature can drop. Tasteful spice? Oh yes – enough to melt the frost right off your windows.

Beyond the steamy romance, the breathtaking Scottish Highlands become their own character. Amber Cooper’s writing brings everything to life, from the snow-dusted landscapes to the sizzling connection between Jamie and Alicia.

Snowed in with a Scotsman is everything you want in a cosy winter read: humour, heart, and heat. Jamie Butler will have you swooning and steaming up your glasses... And I can't wait for the rest of the Butlers’ Whisky Series!

Snowed in with a Scotsman , not too much whiskey but a lot of risqué , just how we like it and Amber Cooper she’s the best. Because she knows what her readers would request…. The story follows Hollywood actress Alicia Jansen who has fled to Scotland to escape the fallout of nude pictures of her are distributed by her ex in a humiliating fashion . Deep in the Highlands she lands in an hotel along with a whisky exec Jamie Butler. Jamie is trying to plot a true course to get the family distillery’s finances back on track and in the black.Jamie is all out of luck too rocked by HIS ex’s infidelity. What a pair! Then the story really starts when forced into close proximity when sheltering from the storm. It’s really most unusual, not the norm. It’s cold outside but hot between the sheets and I’m not talking of snow. He’s done with the opposite sex thanks to his ex , who showed her just how simply he could be betrayed, he’s not going to be that way again. And of sex and relationships he does refrain. Alicia is the same , her ex is to blame too. You’d be the same if it happened to you. But when they’re holed up together away from, the weather. It’s cosy and warm, so what’s the harm , a nibble or two and what do you know they’re making love and loving it too. Woohoo.

This is the second book in this brilliant Scottish series, just a quick mention there is a list of Scottish words with English alternatives (which I found very handy). In this book we meet Alicia and Jamie both are out of relationships that didn't bode well for either. Alicia needed an escape from Hollywood after her ex's spiteful Internet exposure of her private photo's. A nice winter break in a remote part of Scotland in a relaxing log cabin sounded perfect, maybe shed even get back into her painting. Jamie was hoping to take over at Butlers Distillery when his father retired. But after his ex cheated and then finding out she's expecting he just has to get away and have a break. When the have the best meet cute, it's the start of a series of events that brings Alicia and Jamie together. But will their pasts prove to much or will insecurities and distance prove to much. This is a book you won't want to put down once you start, even though characters appear from the first book this can be read as a standalone. If you love a steamy, funny romance with a touch of sass this is definitely the book for you. I can't wait for the next installment

Snowed in with a Scotsman is the second book in The Butlers' Romance series which follows FMC Alicia who is from Los Angeles and dealing with a huge scandal and career change. MMC Jamie is from Scotland and is struggling personally with his father's current health condition. Alicia and Jamie for separate reasons decide going away to escape reality would be a great idea and that is when they meet for the first time at the same Highland Hotel. Unexpected snow fall, a hot sauna and a mutual attraction have them getting lost in each other until it's time to say goodbye. Fate plays a hand at them meeting again but outside of their Highland getaway can they both get over their past hurt and make this last?

I loved that Jamie was so attentive to Alicia and didn't care about who she is and whether or not she was famous. This story is sweet and a perfect book to read after coming out of a seriously hot summer. This is the first book I have read by this author, and it will not be the last. If definitely recommend you read this story.

Thank you, Amber Cooper, for the ARC. I look forward to reading more of your past as well as future books.

I'm going to start off with... I didn't know this was book 2 of The Butlers romance series!! Though reading it I didn't feel like I missed anything, so as true to word it does work as a standalone, though I do need book 1 now to see what I have missed 🥰
I absolutely loved reading Snowed In With A Scotsman, it gave me the cosy feels along with a great dollop of spice! I don't usually pull quotes out whilst I'm reading for my reviews but this one had to be mentioned...
"𝙄’𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙡 – 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙩."
It's cheeky, it sums up Jamie to a tee! I loved him and Alicia. Their characters were great and I love how Alicia overcame her setbacks, to say she was famous and from Hollywood, I felt her character was humble and down to earth. Jamie was just perfection from the start, I loved him!
I really enjoyed how this book was written, each chapter from switching from one character to the other, I felt it worked well and I loved how it all came together. This book is packed with all the best tropes too! I thoroughly enjoyed it, I can't wait to read more.

Alicia had been a victim of revenge from a jilted ex-boyfriend who leaked her nude photos on the internet. She ran away to Scotland to escape the gossip world of Los Angeles. Alicia was trying to find herself, work through her feelings of shame and reclaim her passions for painting. Along the way she meets Jamie, a local Scotsman who is also trying by to find a way to save his family’s Whisky business and respect the wishes of his ailing father. The novel ends with redemption for both characters. Alicia is able to reclaim her body through her passion painting. Jamie is able to see his worth as a man and as the future of his family’s business.

This was one of my favourite romance novels read to date. Thank you to HiddenGems for the ARC copy of this book. I really enjoyed reading this cozy read with a little spice. The story had a great flow and the connection between the main characters, Alicia and Jamie, seemed believable and formed naturally. Their story was a perfect mix of lust turning into love and adoration. I was cheering for these two from the start.

P.S. That sauna scene was hot!!!! 🔥

Favourite genre : romance - check
Favourite setting: Scotland - check
Meet-cute, misunderstandings, forced proximity, all the best tropes - check!
I was immediately drawn to this by the title, the cover, and Scotland!
I've never read anything by this author before, but I'm sure I will read more in the future.
This is book 2 in a series, but it's completely standalone, I wouldn't have had a clue it was part of a series if I hadn't seen it saying book 2.
There were a couple of times I wanted to give Alicia's heid a wobble! She could be a frustrating character, but I definitely felt for her with the history she had experienced.
I love all the Scottish language throughout, though I can appreciate that, to a non-native, there may be a few words or phrases that don't make sense.
There's a LOT of spicy scenes, so fans of explicit romance are in for a treat.
I love epilogues set a year or two in the future, just to update where our grand romance ends up, so I was pleased as punch with the one here.
It's a really quick read, perfect for steamy, romance fans.

Snowed in with a Scotsman is the second story in The Butlers' Romance Series. Snowed in with a Scotsman follows the story of Alicia and Jamie. When I first read the overview for Snowed in with a Scotsman, I found it to be quite interesting to the point where I had to read the whole book to find out what was going to happen. After reading Snowed in with a Scotsman, I came to realize that I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to read and review this amazing book. I felt bad for Alicia and how she was let go from her place of employment all because of an absolute jerk she used to date. Jamie, I found him to be write interesting and intriguing to the very least. I'm so happy that Alicia and Jamie got together and have a happily ever after to their amazing story. Snowed in with a Scotsman is certainly a book that I would give as a recommendation for anyone to read and find out what happens between Alicia and Jamie. I'm looking forward to reading more books written by Author Amber Cooper.

This book had me hooked from the moment I met Alicia and Jamie. Alica who had just been through the ringer with her hollywoods golden boy and now her reputation is in the dumpster because of him. And Jamie who just came out of a 10 year unfullfilling relationship.

Both Jamie and Alicia left for holiday to clear their minds just to cross paths and find comfort in each other.

This book made me connect with both characters on so many levels and I truly felt their pain. I couldn't finish their story fast enough. The Scotish landscape beauty Amber Cooper captures in her writing is breathtaking. It keept taking me back to my vacations in Scotland.

If you enjoy "One bed" "holiday romance" "sexy scottish men" you will absolutely enjoy this book. This is a 2024 Holiday must read. Get cozy with a blanket, some tea and Snowed in with a Scotsman.

I fell in love with the Butler Brothers in the first book, A Cask of You, where Bea met Cal. I think Jamie may have Cal beat though. He's sweet, sexy, funny and thoughtful. When Alicia meets Jamie she mistakes him for a porter which he takes in stride. Alicia who's looking to escape the limelight after having nude photos leaked by her ex, loves that he doesn't recognize her. Unfortunately, he might be the only one who doesn't recognize her. As she navigates the fallout from the scandal, nature keeps throwing Jamie in her path. When they get snowed in together, Jamie works to show Alicia that she is in safe hands despite the obvious chemistry they have together. That Scottish accent has Alicia melting and things may just get overheated in their private sauna. This book is a great meet cute but also tackles some serious issues like cyber bullying, gender inequality and overcoming shame.

Well written, full of chemistry, betrayal, hopes, dreams, love, steam, scandal and twists. Alicia is on the run from a betrayal from her ex and hopes while she is there no one will notice her. Her ex has put naked pics of her on his social sites. Jamie is an executive in the whiskey business who also is on the run from his ex girlfriend. Both have felt the betrayal from the person who they loved. Alicia is hiding in Scotland hoping to find some peace from the world she lived in. Jamie is just wanting a quiet site to recoup and think. At the hotel, they both are drawn to the other and sparks start to fly. The heat turns up along with the temp and it's not from the sauna. It's does always help when you have a sexy, caring man to help you thru the hurt. Plus he can keep you hot on a cold snowy day or anytime for that matter. Has a great group of characters and the plot is exceptional. Would recommend to others.
I received this book and leave this unbiased, honest review.

An enjoyable cozy read with some spicy scenes. Jamie and Alicia are each intriguing characters with backstories that tugged at my heart.

Alicia mistaking Jamie for a hotel porter and his concern for how she’d react when she learns he’s a guest and staying in the adjoining cabin was humorous. I enjoyed getting to know Alicia and Jamie as they became acquainted with some long talks as they shared their pasts, interests, dreams and regrets. A moderately slow burn romance with some definitely spicy scenes.

The differences in phrasing between them is almost a third character as they get to know each other and spend a significant time talking and sharing. These differences are also very much a part of the story as a cozy touch as the Scottish author uses some unique phrasing for American characters.

An entertaining read that can be read as a standalone.

I received a free ARC from the author and Hidden Gems; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
