Trapped between my desires and his darkness, he watches from the shadows, waiting for the moment I surrender.
When I moved into the old mansion to escape my past, I never expected him—the monster lurking behind the mirror. At first, he was just a shadow, a haunting presence I could brush off as a trick of the mind. But now, he’s become more—his form sharper, his hunger undeniable.
Each night, he invades my dreams, blurring the line between fear and lust. I should be terrified, I should run—but instead, I find myself drawn to him. His voice whispers in the dark, promising pleasure and power, pulling me deeper into his world.
As the mirror pulses with his presence, I face an impossible remain safe in my reality, or surrender to the shadow in the mirror and let him consume me completely. The boundary between our worlds is breaking, and the deeper I fall, the harder it is to remember what’s real.
But he’s waiting for me. And now that I’ve seen him, there’s no going back.
Will I escape the monster’s grasp, or will I become his forever?
Trigger warnings include dark theme and psychological tension. No cliffhanger, no cheating, HEA guaranteed.
I felt like this book could have been half as long and still had the same effect. It was so repetitive that I thought my kindle glitched and I was reading the same chapter more than once. The concept was okay. Had potential for some world building or hell even a little character building. I’ve yet to DNF a book, but found myself skipping over entire paragraphs to get to the finish faster.
3.5 rounded up I liked it. I thought the concept was great and I liked the setting but at times it was a bit repetitive and cliched. I also didn't like how the FMC was described as fragile and delicate but also strong and resilient. Which is it?
1/5 ⭐️ 2/5 🌶️ Interesting concept, bad execution. "I could feel him/her. I wanted him/her even though I know I shouldn't." Repeat that for 100 pages and that was the book 🙁
I absolutely loved this story NGL it was beautiful how you saw the characters change and be rebuilt. It was also pretty spicy which is a very important fact, but there were a lot of things that kind of felt like it overlapped the spicy parts where it starts to pick up were always the same but good nonetheless and the ending overlapped a bit too but it was still good I loved this story and do recommend it for a short read.
Omfg this was so BORING!! Little over 100 pages and it took me 4 months to complete it 😫 The writing isn't the best and neither is the story, to be honest. Continuity is a major issue in this book and one of my major pet peeves. This book also suffered from major repetition and was so fawkin annoying. I'm just glad it's over with.
It was so repetitive. The same exact phrases were repeated word for word multiple times. The MMC was never fully explained so I had no idea what he was or what the lore behind him was. There was barely a story and the spicy scenes were just repetitive and boring.
The MC’s repeat their inner thoughts over and over, chapter after chapter. When there is dialogue, it’s flat and boring. I couldn’t even finish the epilogue.
