Lily and Ian have finally returned home with Connor, Sadie, and the newest addition to their family.
Across the street, Walt and Danielle are settling into parenthood, and down the street Heather is no longer worried about a certain annoying ghost surprising her in the middle of the night.
But the calm on Beach Drive doesn’t last long. It isn’t just the arrival of Lily’s parents, or the surprise visit from Lily’s sister, Laura, who has been in Europe. It’s the woman who shows up on Lily’s doorstep, young boy in hand named Christopher, looking for directions to Chris Johnson’s house.
Holmes' stories are convoluted, but thanks to Eva's view of the Universe, we are allowed to accept the bizarre coincidences. I suppose they're no less believable than love between a ghost and a woman born years after his death. It's a comfortable philosophy. I love the world of Fredricksport, even Carla. I love the casual inclusion of people and incidents from previous stories; it makes the world so much more normal. As usual,I preordered the next installment as soon as I was done. I've also reread the entire series a few times.
By far the best book of the series! Suspense as Tracy is taking her deceased friends little boy to who she thinks is the boys dad. Chris Johnson is who she is trying to find, and when she does she literally drops off the little boy and runs. Little Christopher looks like Chris. Chris knows the mom, but never had a relationship with the mom. Tracy has second thoughts and is about to return to Christopher when she is killed. This is where the twists and turns start and the action is non stop. The kids are amazing and the ghosts, well, lets say there are many. I did not sleep till the book was finished. Kudos to Ms. Holmes to a gripping action packed book!
I've read this series from the beginning, so obviously I enjoy it. I've been looking forward to this one for several reasons. One of the main characters, Chris, is featured. But this book differs from the others. Our main characters do very little sleuthing! Chief MacDonald, Marie and Eva do most of the work! I enjoyed more Evan and Eddie MacDonald as they helped with the case. Babies and nursing was Danielle's role in this book. The plot was nicely twisted with 3 main bad guys but I wondered about Laura's new friend until his role was revealed. I enjoyed the story.
Another excellent book about Fredrickport and its inhabitants. Chris is confused by the appearance of an old acquaintance and a young boy. The woman is killed soon after, but what does have to do with the strange men in town, and how does Laura's friend Dane fit into it? As the residents of Beech Drive try to work things out, there are more twists to the plot. A must-read for all lovers of the supernatural world.
I just love this series. I thought when the twins were born that the series would change. I am glad I was wrong. While Danielle and Walt are still involved the rest of the characters take up the slack. Heather, Marie, Eva, the chief and his sons carry on with the story very well. The storyline of this book was great. Finding family losing family and keeping family.
Bobbi is back! This was a fun installment that got back to the high stakes whodunnit vibes of the earlier books that pulled me in. There were so many twists that kept me guessing. It’s nice to see everyone in Frederickport settled in, one big, happy family. But I’m so looking forward to the next book and hoping for a fun mystery!
Another wonderful book. There were lots of surprises and alls well that ends well. I love all her books, thanks.i love all her books. It’s a mystery about a 4 year old boy who doesn’t know where he should live. The usual mediums and ghosts are involved in the mystery. I’m glad it all turned out in the last few pages.
This was one of my faves! A woman shows up at Lily’s door with a child in hand, looking for Chris Johnson. Lily is entertaining her family from California and her sister Laura from Europe. Meanwhile over at Marlow House, Walt and Danielle are enjoying their twins Addison and Jack. As this unknown woman Traci Lind hands a young boy named Christopher over to Chris Johnson and tries to leave town. On the way out of town, she has stopped to figure out what she is doing and decides to return to retrieve Christopher, Traci is murdered by two brothers on the side of the road. Then later, they are killed when their car explodes near the Seaside Inn. Heather who says she never wants to be a Mom, finds Christopher a nice addition to Beach Drive. As everyone tries to settle who killed Traci and then murdered the brothers. A strange woman and her step-son (Mrs King and Kyle) come to town. And why does Christopher look so much like Chris Johnson if he isn't his father? Chris Johnson was merely friends with Bridgette (the boy’s s mother) long ago. Dane follows Laura back from England, wanting an excuse as to why she left him suddenly. She was falling in love with him and was gun shy. She also did not want to live in England, away from her family. Dane runs into Mrs. King at the seaside Inn, although he already knows who she is. Kyle King has worked out that Cristopher is Mrs King’s (unknown to her) grandson. He is her dead son’s child. Kyle wants to kill Mrs King before she finds out so he will receive her inheritance. Dane ruins his plans to kill her by finding her while vomiting on an overdose of sleeping pills. Kyle hits Dane on the head, but Eva has seen the whole thing and warns Walt to call the police. Mrs King is saved, and Dane reveals he is her dead son’s half brother. Kyle goes to jail for a long time. Mrs King wants Christopher to come and live with her. Bridgette comes to Chris in a dream hop and explains that she did in fact die accidentally. And yes she slept with Mrs Kings son one time, resulting in pregnancy, and that he did look a lot like Chris. In fact, she named Cristopher after Chris. Then she speaks with her son telling him how much she loved him, she will always watch over him, and that he should not be afraid to go live with his grandmother.

I hated coming to the end of this book. Number #37 in the series won't be out until November. When I started with the first one, I had no idea that I'd read the entire series back-to-back with no other books in-between ... they are THAT GOOD!!!! This one met every expectation. A woman (Traci) shows up with a small boy, and claims that Chris Johnson is the father. She signs over guardianship and leaves. Chris insists that there is no way that he's the father, and his friends know that since he himself was raised in foster care, he would never let another child be forced to be taken by child protective services. So he begins searching for whatever he can about the child's actual mother who had died 3 months earlier. In the meantime, Traci cannot believe she just left the child with a stranger. So she pulls off the road to think. She hadn't noticed the car that was following her, and when two men in suits with dark sunglasses stop their car, she assumes they are coming to help her, until she sees the gun. And therein begins another complex mystery, with a touching side story, that keeps me wishing it was November already!
Ghosts, Gags, and Growing Families – Holmes Does It Again!
By a Delightfully Haunted Reviewer
Hold onto your teacups and ectoplasm! I’ve just finished my 36th Bobbi Holmes book (yes, you read that right—thirty-six!), and let me tell you, the Danielle series shows no signs of slowing down. This latest installment juggles three cleverly intertwined plots with the ease of a ghost floating through walls.
Our favorite cast of charming humans and their two loyal ghostly companions are back, navigating a whirlwind of murder, mystery, and mayhem—with a side of growing families and mischievous antics. As always, Holmes dishes out suspense with a generous dollop of humor, serving up those “laugh out loud” moments between clues and corpses.
From secret staircases to surprise suspects, it’s all here—woven together with that familiar cozy mystery warmth and a supernatural twist that keeps the pages turning. Delightful, intriguing, and irresistibly ghostly.
Verdict: A paranormal page-turner that proves 36 is just the beginning!
Look, I love these books. I’ve listened to this one 3 times and each of the others at least that many times over. I’m more emotionally invested in them than my own life despite their flaws BUT I have a huge problem with the way Laura’s love interest played out.
Her and her mother are both absolutely insufferable characters but to write a storyline where she’s actively being stalked not only electronically but in person across the world by a man she made it very clear to that they were over and it ends in her capitulation? What the actual f*ck. How in the year 2025 is that being romanticized, passing through editors and not flagged as abuse?
Bobbi Holmes does it again in The Ghost and Wednesday's Child. The suspense and questions that plague you from the first page while reading this book on why little Christopher is left behind and why does he suspiciously look like Chris will have you gripping the pages of this book. Each new character introduced us more suspicious than the last and the ending is absolutely touching. This book proves why the mediums of Beach Drive have stolen our hearts for 35 book already.
Danielle and Walt are sidelined by the twins and Chris is the center of the action in this story. Not sure why Brian treated Heather's assertions so skeptically. Laura was starting to be annoying like Kelly, but for once Kelly was not too bad. Overall this was another satisfying book in a very long series.
The stories get better and better! We don't really get a lot of time with the ghosts or find out if they moved on. Everything that happened happened because of greed. Kyle I don't think deserved any of his step- mothers money. It all comes down to greed. Christopher gets a lot of new friends, a grandmother and even an uncle. On to the next adventure!😉💚💙
These are always good stories, and by now the regular cast of characters all feel like old friends. Take a rest and read this book, then keep reading the series, and be sure to pick up the earlier books if you haven't yet read them A+ Bravo! (Again!)
Loved this 36th book in the Haunting Danielle series. I enjoyed the storyline, and how its never predictable. I know ill be very sad when this series ends. I read this book before the audio version came out, loved both. Excellent narrator! I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. I highly recommend this series.
🫠 I was completely set on the kid being Chris’s and the mum/guardian catching a case of comatose and handing their body over to Eva for their HEA! So I was VERY disappointed 😭
Not a bad story the way it is tho.
I think Joe, Kelly & June are way too annoying and have been for too long. They are interfering with my entire experience.
I've waited forever for this one! I absolutely love the Haunting Danielle series!! Every book is fantastically written. The story in the background keeps you wanting more. The murder mysteries keep you looking for clues as Danielle and the other mediums converse with the ghosts and work to solve each case. I can't wait for the next book!
The story was quite good. I really enjoyed the story and the “loops”. Thanks for sharing your imaginative characters. Sure hope Laura has found her happily ever after.
I've read them all. I feel like I know each character and their animals! The story lines are pretty predictable. Laughs and heartwarming at times. Supernatural meets Oregon small town. Always a crime to solve. Easy reading.
I've been reading this since the beginning and each book is awesome and amazing! They are hold my interest from beginning to the end. This is absolutely phenomenal and I hope it contains for a very long time!!!
From book1 to book 36 always a new adventure and mystery. These characters have become my friends. If you haven't read them then you are missing a great series. Loved it.😁
A woman shows up to drop a kid onto Chris’s doorstep and pandemonium ensues. Bodies are dropping like flies more mysterious people show up. What’s going on in our little town? This was full of a lot of craziness. Really good.
I have to say this has been one of my favorites from the latest books in the series. As always I look forward for the next one to be available on audio. 36 books later and I am still in love with this series and everyone on Beach Drive.
This was a bit scattered, but it fit together quite nicely in the end. I think Heather might be a little confused on not wanting children. But I am sure that's another story.
One of the better outings in this series. Lots of interaction with other characters (and limited Kelly). Liked Evan being more involved, plus the Chief. Perhaps Eva is right, the universe does work in mysterious ways.
I absolutely love the Haunting Danielle series. I feel like I am with friends and I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to curl up with a feel good story and great characters.
Another amazing tale! Bobbi really knows how to make her characters come to life. I only wish she would write more of these, I've waited for awhile now for her next book to come out. There's so much that can still happen with the Beach Drive Mediums.
