Luca Haryk is ridiculously happy and in love—an easy feat with an adoring soulmate by his side. Despite his anxieties over his new position, he’s found a home in the Otherworld and has everything anyone could ever dream of. So why does he still feel like a puzzle with a missing piece? When a secret door appears in the palace library, hiding old documents that may belong to his dad, he’s suspicious, but he also can’t help following the clues. For twenty-seven years, Luca has wondered about the guy his mom refused to talk about, and has questioned whether there’s more to himself than he was made to believe. He doesn’t know if he’ll find exactly what he seeks, but he can no longer ignore his need for answers. What is that proverb about a cat and curiosity?

Cair will do anything for his mate. He is his heart, his world, and nothing matters more than Luca’s contentment. Therefore, the moment the determined little creature finds breadcrumbs leading to the lands outside the Kingdom’s borders, he doesn’t think twice about indulging him. Except, when they’re set on by a group of reapers, Cair is reminded of how mortal his human is, and he doubts intention alone will be enough to keep him safe. He would tear the realm apart to protect Luca, but there has to be a more peaceful way. Is being a prince of the Fae really the path fate has laid out for him?

Their trip to the Outerlands isn’t as simple as they had hoped. There are dangers lurking in the shadows, and outside forces rooting against them, but together they can overcome it all and figure out a way to keep their happily ever after.

Can’t they?

LUCA is an MM paranormal romance with spice, size difference, and soulmates. It features our loveable, oblivious human on a journey to find his roots, and his adoring Fae mate who is forced into making a harrowing decision along the way. LUCA is third in the VEILED CITY series, which must be read in order due to the overarching plot and worldbuilding. Each book focuses on its own pair and their HEA, though certain background elements will be resolved as the series progresses.

⭐️ 4.5 stars rounded up! ⭐️

WARNING for: Temporary MCD. I don't remember if this is warned for in the beginning or not, but I don't remember seeing it, so just in case, I'm warning for it. It goes on for a bout a chapter or so and it was heartbreaking! I definitely cried, and I felt the other MC's pain so deeply. It was devastating and so mean of the author! Thankfully it doesn't last, though! But be warned going into this for that sad part!

I didn't know that returning to these two was something I needed. For the most part, these two are happy and so deeply in love in this book, and I would have tagged this with fluff if not for the MCD part of this book. And the aftereffects that were felt as well.

Also, I feel like these two within their relationship are in a HEA place by the end of this, but the story was very much HFN because they'll be going to war against Cair's awful father, the king. It almost ends on a tiny bit of a cliffhanger, but nothing too big that I felt it needed to be tagged. And Cair and Luca are solid and ready to take on the world by the end, so there's no worries with them. It's more that the story definitely will continue in the 4th book with Cair's brother, Orion, so the bigger plot is not resolved at all.

I loved how we returned to this couple AND the plot was so well done overall. It's been a year of them living in the Otherworld with Cair taking on his princely duties and Luca almost being like a kept husband - and happy about it, overall.

But also, he wants to find his Fae father, whether it goes well or not. Because he's gone his whole 27 years of life not knowing him or why he never got to know him and if his father even wanted him or will want him.

That sets Cair and Luca off on an adventure to the Outerlands - lands outside the jurisdiction of royalty - that will take about a week or so.

But as they explore the lands in the kingdom, which Luca has never gotten to see before, something nefarious is at play, which directly ties to the King and which definitely is the catalyst to the coming war we're in by the end of this book.

I loved getting to return to these two, and I think I might have loved this even more than their first book together, to be honest. This book just fired on all cylinders, basically, even the parts that made me cry.

My only reason for .5 stars off is the more mild spice we got. I don't know why the author chose that route, because these two were fire together and had such great chemistry. They couldn't get enough of each other and I would have liked a little more written out sex scenes.

Especially at the end when they get down and dirty, and they're about to have their first penetrative time since the temporary MCD incident but then it...gets cut off by Luca's father coming to offer and then we didn't get a make-up to that interruption at ALL. I was like what?! They went through this huge thing and it took some time for them to get to that intimacy again and then we don't get to see them go all the way? I was miffed!

While we did get smut between them and it was hot, I wanted them to go all the way as well and not be interrupted before they could. Like...given the lack of written out steam overall in this book, that felt a bit...too much? Maybe a bit mean?

I loved this too much to take off more than .5 stars off, and what we did get before this was - the like...one full on smut scene, I think is all we got - was amazing, so I didn't punish the author too much for that, but I couldn't let it go either.

Like I'm to assume we're not going to get another book between these two - maybe a short, though? Giving us their first time after the big MCD incident? - so to end it without seeing them get to reconnect all the way was almost shocking, tbh.

So yeah, there was that, but otherwise I loved this. Cair and Luca's love never wavered, and the beautiful things they said to each other and thought about each other melted my heart. They are each other's entire world.

“You are everything to me, do you understand?” he said, tears gathering in his dark eyes, his voice cracking. “You are the air that I breathe, the blood in my heart, and the spark in my soul. I cannot live without you beside me, Luca, and nothing will ever make that any less so.”

Like? That is absolutely beautiful. My heart absolutely melted.

Definitely recommend this, especially if you've enjoyed this series so far and enjoyed Cair and Luca the first time around.

Definitely can't wait for Orion's book next, and I wonder who his LI will be.

Until then! ❤️

4.5⭐️

This series just gets better and better. We’re warned at the start that this will be a cliffhanger of sorts, and the final book will tie up all the loose ends. So with that in mind, it makes sense that there is a lot of world-building and leading up to the final takeover.

I loved Gary; he made the story funny. He’s goofy and cute. It was great to read about Luca and Cair again, and check in on Alex and Tee. Other characters are introduced too, which leaves you ready for more.

The journey to find Luca’s dad was filled with emotion, mystery, and angst. The drama in the middle has you on edge, and the fight leading up to the final book has you raring to go. I want to see this king get his comeuppance in a spectacular way!

If you haven’t already read the other two, the first half of this book won’t make much sense. We’ve already been introduced to Edenglas, and this book introduces us fully to the Otherworld as we follow Luca on this journey to find his missing pieces.

It was a great read, and I probably should have waited until book 4 was out because now I’m going to be chomping at the bit waiting for this to come out.

Man, I've missed this universe created by Eryn Hawk. Cair with his flowery language and undying devotion to his mate, and Luca who loves him just as fiercely even though he's only half fae. Though it's been some time since we've caught up with their life in the Otherworld, it was clear from the beginning that these two are just as much in love as ever, if not more. Their insatiableness for each other hasn't lessened either in case you were wondering.

"𝙸 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝙸 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚙𝚞𝚝 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍𝚜."

Cair and Luca have been researching for some time when they finally stumble upon a clue of Luca's father. Though there are known dangers, the two decide to make the journey to find out if their conclusions of his whereabouts are correct. After all, Cair is a fae prince and he has people loyal to him protecting them from afar, what could go wrong? Final last words.

This book made me cry. At one point I was cursing the author "How could you do this to us!!" Thankfully things took a turn in a direction I wasn't exactly expecting but was in the realm of what I was hoping for. Pay attention to all the little interactions with side characters. It may seem insignificant, but many things in this book come back into play plot wise. I can't wait to see how it all ends in the final book Orian.

This series is one of my favourites and Luca is such a great addition! Seeing Luca and Cair's relationship grow and deepen (and be just as possessive and feral for you as ever) was so special. I love them together so much - together they're intense and fun-loving at the same time, wrapped up in each other and determined to achieve their goals all at once.

The emotions in this book were stunning. I cried SO much! The way Luca and Cair feel about each other really comes across and when they're in danger the fear and sadness that evokes as their mate might be taken from them? 10/10 no notes. I needed approximately a hundred tissues and a litre of water to replace all the tears I cried. So so good! This book will tug at your heartstrings, make you smile, make you cry, and leave you craving the next installment!

The mental health rep in Luca was also brilliant. The anxiety rep in particular was really well done and I definitely connected with it. Luca is such an overthinker and goes into anxiety spirals and I want to hug him so badly!

Overall I loved this book and I would definitely recommend it to any fantasy fans, fans of the fae or people who love good spice and good hurt/comfort. Make sure to start with book one - Cair!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

DNF @ 27%

I was determined to hate-read this book, then remembered I have free will and can literally dnf this book if I want to.

First of all, this book shouldn't have been written. We already got Luca and Cair's story in the first book, Cair. Luca is trying to find his dad is this book, so I guess it's a mystery? But the mystery aspect wasn't even done well, and we already got the romance in the first book, so like, what was the point of this book...

I don't particularly like when there are multiple books in a series focusing on one couple because we don't experience any more connection or chemistry, and that's exactly what happened in this book. Cair and Luca are already an established couple, and it got a bit... boring.

As for the world building:

There wasn't much world building in the first two books. There was more in this book, which makes sense, they're trying to look for Luca's dad, but it got complicated and flew over my head. It was hard to keep track of what road they were on and where they were and where they were going.

As for the writing:

It was fine. There were some good quotes. But overall, way too much internal monologuing. There was a lot of telling, not showing. ("...it didn't feel as if Maeve wore a mask. She didn't pretend for the sake of fitting in, or seem to hide behind a front of her father's making. Of course, that didn't mean she wasn't as complex and layered as the rest of the Haryk siblings, or that she had no skeletons in her closet. Maybe she just wasn't wholly against the life she led, or she didn't give it much weight. I got the impression that Maeve only did whatever served her....")
The author just gave us Maeve's ENTIRE character description, when she could have given us bits and pieces of her personality through her actions, and had us piece together what kind of character she was.

The only reason I was determined to finish this is because I'd like to read Orian's story (the 4th book), and these books can't be read as standalones. 😮‍💨 So perhaps I'll pick it up again in the future, but for now, it's a DNF.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review.

This is the third book in Eryn Hawk’s Veiled City series. (There is an overarching plot that means the series would be best read in order). This story picks up with Luca and Cair deeply in love and settling down in the Otherworld. Luca is quenching his thirst for knowledge by keeping up with his studies (especially of supernatural creatures), and Cair remains as devoted as ever to keeping Luca happy and safe.

Luca still feels like a piece of him os missing. He tries to figure out who his father is and wants to find him. The quest sets Luca and Cair out on a trip to the Outerlands, in order to get answers to some of Luca’s questions. Things take a dangerous turn and Luca ends up in harm’s way. There are some tense and difficult moments (I swear I screamed out loud for one of them) but the pair manage to find a way to set things back to rights and get their footing on a solid path again.

Luca and Cair’s unwavering love for one another is palpable is this book. They really want to see the other achieve all of their dreams. This story is sweet, steamy, and sprinkles in a little sadness too. I enjoyed the side characters in this book as well. Cee, Gary, and Orian are really interesting. Z and F are intriguing. It was also nice seeing glimpses of Teighan and Alex as well. Luca is a really engaging read.

Cair’s father, the king of the Fae realm, is ruthless and despicable. He sets things in motion that will resolve in the fourth book in this series. Regarding this book specifically, Luca and Cair succeed in keeping their HEA.

I’m curious to see how everything will wrap up in the next story in this series. In the meantime, give Luca (and the rest of the Veiled City series) a read.

Luca by Eryn Hawk is a paranormal (fae/human) MM urban fantasy romance, set in parallel worlds that live side by side across a 'veil'. Cair Haryk is a Prince of the Fae and Luca Elliot is his fated mate.

This is the third book in the author's Veiled City series and it features Cair and Luca as our main characters again, this time on a journey to the Outerlands to try and find the missing pieces to Luca's backstory - and who his father actually is.

This can't be read as a standalone, so do make sure to read the previous books in order - you'll need them for the overarching story, character development and general world-building, all of which the author is fabulous at delivering.

💚 MM PNR
💚 Soulmates
💚 Size difference
💚 Fae/human
💚 Found family
💚 Low angst
💚 Lots of banter
💚 Spicy times
💚 HFN (to be concluded in book 4)

Can't wait for all the happy ever afters coming soon in Orian...

enjoyed this less than the first one i cant lie. i truly don't care about the plot, and i understand that it was needed (and it made complete sense!) because to many established relationship fluff isn't enough and drama has to occur. for me, who gets EASILY sated on the cheesy nature of reading abt two people in love, i was just bored of what was taking away from my romantic goodness throughout.

i also think luca's whole self worth schtick got old very fast. i already have little patience for the kind of anxious that needs CONSTANT reassurance (again. im a bitch. and according to my therapist clinically normal passing) like it gets annoying to me REALLY fast ESPECIALLYYYYY in books and this constant rocurring idea of "luca feels rlly bad abt himself and bottles it up until it leads to a loaded convo -> realizes hes not the only person in this relationship and he's being highkey selfish -> feels bad abt THAT -> gets reassured AGAIN" got sooooooo annoying like at some point u have GOT to learn to self soothe or properly internalize that your mate loves you for you. i struggle w self hatred BADDDDD and yet! im not making it everyone's problem! the fae world shld have therapy idc!

also. i didn't expect to not gaf abt luca's dad considering this whole book is abt their journey to find him, but i did not gaf in the SLIGHTEST. i didn't care for him and i think his character would have been developed further regarding the betrayal and exile and having it seem like he abandoned his mate when he was banished, if u didn't give him a lover at the end like. sorry for being toxic but...... i know the author said she's thinking of exploring their story in the future...will i read..probably not but. whatever

overall it was fine. i enjoyed the first book bc reading abt them was FUN! but the fun lovey dovey moments took a backseat in this for near death + father bonding time + apparently luca's raging inferiority complex was driving the car (like MY GOD. PLEASE seek help posthaste) the smut WAS fun and then it stopped being fun when i got bogged down by all the stuff that goes on

will say. the scenes where luca died for twelve hours. GOOD SHIT. i got invested ALL over again and then when he was alive i was like Alright. pack it up. not intended at ms hawk just in general when will authors just write 300 pages of an established relationship fluff with no drama just them being together as they go thru life....ann liang you will FOREVER be famous in my heart u Get it so severely!!!!!

I tried. I really really did! Look at how far into this read i got before i just could not do this to myself anymore. It was an uncomfortable FOMO bail but i had to accept that Eryn Hawk's narrative style and tone is totally NOT for me.

I'm not a fan of the excessive fawning over bae. I do love a good spoiling, but by 8% in I was already over it. I was intrigued by the plot for a second, but I don't have the eyewear to mitigate what ten plus chapters of heart-eyes getting horny because boo can breathe air will take from me if I kept eye-rolling like it's my job.

Also, I've decided I don't like the word "mate", so there's that.

Luca is the third book in Eryn Hawk’s Veiled City series, and it features the same main characters from the first book, Cair. Please note this series must be read in order due to the overarching plot and worldbuilding. Here’s what you can expect from Cair and Luca:

💚 MM paranormal romance
💚 First person dual point of view
💚 Happy for now-ish (the main characters are happy and in love, but a few elements of their story will be concluded in the fourth book)
💚 Soulmates
💚 Size difference
💚 Fae/human
💚 Fae royalty
💚 Going on an adventure
💚 Magic and spells
💚 Fangs, horns, and wings
💚 Found family
💚 Fluff, angst, and banter
💚 Flying sex
💚 Established relationship
💚 Protective main characters
💚 Lingerie

As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings and triggers may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading.

It was so great to return back to the Veiled City universe and pick back up with Luca and Cair. Reading about established couples can be a bit of a hit or miss for me, but in this case it was definitely a hit! Especially in the case of fated mates like Luca and Cair, I feel like there’s so much more to discover, and it was good to catch up with them living their best lives in the Otherworld. This book primarily took place in the Otherworld, and discovering it through Luca’s curious eyes was perfect. Eryn used such descriptive imagery to bring the landscapes to life for readers.

Although this book has it’s fluffy and swoony moments, it definitely has it’s fair share of angst (which will set up the events in the fourth book no doubt) that had me on the edge of my seat. Just remember that Luca and Cair get their happily for now, with the intention that the overarching story elements will be resolved in Orian . I really enjoyed the overarching plot points, the history, and the Fae politics involved in this story. I also am glad that their adventure in the story was a success, and I absolutely adored the background characters. Particularly Gary, Zadok, Flick, and Cee (and can’t forget Leaf of course)! It was great to see the found family elements and how many folks of different species were willing to go to bat for them.

Overall, this book had me absolutely hooked and really has me looking forward to the final book in the cities as well as the potential for a spinoff series (I need to know more about the background characters). I think Eryn does an incredible job at writing these awesome paranormal romances that have the right combination of fun, angst, and pure spice (seriously, the flying sex was on point). I loved this one!

I have really enjoyed all the books In this series so far and I've really been looking forward to this one. I couldn't wait to see Luca and Cair again especially as they are now in an established relationship. I knew ahead of time that this book ends on a cliff hanger that will be resolved in the fourth book but I need the last book, like now. This didn't disappoint at all.

We spend more of this book in the Otherworld as luca travels to find it more about his missing parts/history and to find his dad. You deffo need to read this series in order as it really wouldn't make sense without reading the first two books. The main plot with finding Luca's dad was good - full of mystery and quite emotional at times- and the last fight has made me really impatient for the next book.

what really made this book for me was the relationship between Luca and Cair - no matter how tough things got they looked out for each and supported each other 100%. I loved seeing them together throughout the book. The supporting characters, Gary eapecially, were really well done. Can't wait to see the King - hopefully - get what he deserves in book 4.

I really recommend this book unless you can't do cliffhangers then I'd suggest editing and binging it all in one go with book 4 is out.

This universe is really wonderful! It is wonderful to return to the love story of Luca and Cair. To begin, you must read this series in chronological sequence. The characters from the previous book are all back in this one, and it all starts with them. Oh my goodness, Luca and Cair are perfect. The electric connection between them, the depth of their love and commitment, and the lengths to which they would go to protect one another. Spoilers abound while discussing this book, so it's difficult to say much. We meet new people, some of whom I just adored. With Cair by his side, we anticipated that Luca would seek out information about his family, including his father. The outcome and the new friends we made are both wonderful. Seriously, Gary totally stole the scenes he was in, haha. Love, intense feelings, passionate scenes, and terrible moments abound, but that's alright! There is a happy ending in this romance! I am also quite interested in the building storyline that concerns Cair's father, the fae king; I can't wait for the next book to see how it develops! The release of the fourth book is imminent, my goodness. I cannot speak highly enough of this series if you are seeking a passionate fairy romance with human and fae couples that have wonderful chemistry, flirt, and love. I highly recommend starting with the first book.I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

THIS BOOK HAD ME IN A CHOKE HOLD THE WHOLE TIME.
Okay maybe I exaggerate a little bit, it was realllyyy nice and once we got to like 1/3 of the book...shit hit the fan and people, when I say that I couldn't put the book down, I mean it : I stayed up to 5a.m to finish it, I couldn't stop.
My heart actually sank at some point and now I understand why the author have apologized in the beginning of the book. I was sobbing.
I'm a pretty oblivious person (like Luka) and I didn't see the plot coming until the very end, which is probably why it was such a shock for me and why I have cried. What soothed me and my poor heart it's the healthy communication between Cair and Luca, the caring that they have for each other and that reassurance is their love language, it really soother my heart. Also, it didn't make sense for me that Luca's color was green, I really envisioned him as a blue person (like his eyes) but now I totally understand why green is his color. My gut's are telling me that the fourth and last book will be blue.
This book was really a roller coaster and I'm just so glad that I gave this series a try. The book end on a cliffhanger, but it's kind of an ok cliffhanger. I won't tear my hairs from my head. I'll be patiently waiting for the next one (that should be the last) and I'm really looking forward to the extras (the stories of other characters, like Luca's dad and others).

I LOVE this world so, so much! And it’s so great to get back to Luca and Cair and their love story! First off - you definitely need to read this series in order, especially since this one goes back to the couple that was in the first book.

I adore Luca and Cair. Their chemistry, their total love and devotion for each other, how they'd do anything for each other.

It's hard to talk a lot about this book without giving away major spoilers. We're introduced to new characters - some that I just loved. We knew that Luca wanted to try and find his father and more about his family now that he was with Cair. I love how things played out and all the new people we met. Honestly, Gary stole the scenes he's in LOL.

There is love, lots of emotion, some steamy moments, some absolutely tragic ones - but it's OK! This is a romance and it's a HEA!

There is also this building plot revolving around Cair's father, the king of the fae, and I cannot wait to see how things play out in the next book! My goodness, the fourth book can't come soon enough.

If you're looking for a steamy fae romance, with human/fae pairings, where our couples have great chemistry and banter and love, then I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Please pick up the first book and enjoy!

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve only just started this, I’m at chapter two and already stressing. I hated Cair’s father before and now i hate him even more for what he did to Luca’s father. Banishing him from the castle and making everyone except luca’s mother forget about him. He seperated a happy couple, leaving luca’s mother to think her love abandoned her for all those years.
I kind of hope when luca and Cair go to that farm land where his father is supposed to be living that his father has passed away like they fear. That way he doesn’t have to learn that the love of his life, luca’s mother, died hating him and that he has a son who he didn’t get to raise.
This story is already depressing.
Can we not have a coup, can Cair not take over and become king already? Because the current king needs to die.

Anyway, rant over, now i have to go finish this book. Either Lucas father needs to have passed away, or Luca’s father needs to wizard up and storm the castle and kill the king. Those are the only two options, nothing else will be accepted. I reject any other outcome.

Edit:
Garry is up there as one of my favourite charaters. He’s hilarious.

Edit:
Well i finished it.
Not much happened. But I’m mostly saying that cause i wanted a war or something to kill the king. When will he die? He better die in the next book.

So this is not a standalone. You definitely need to have at least read Cair, preferable Teighan as well. You’d miss out on a lot of background if you just jumped in and decided to read as a standalone.

Now I loved this. Much better than the first two books in the series. Now they were enjoyable. But this just has the perfect fantasy/quest vibe. We are in the fae lands now so we get all the descriptions of the land, different creatures plus there’s magic which we learn more about.

Cair and Luca have a fantastic relationship. It is just shown beautifully. Very well written. Plus sex scenes are proportionate to the length of the book. There’s a super emotional scene which just wrecked me. I was in shock. Learning about Luca’s dad and more background on Cair’s dad was great and not done in massive info dumps which I don’t like.

We are set up for the final book in the series, and we are left on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it’s not too horrendous, I personally think it’s pretty standard for a fantasy book with the whole quest vibe.

I can’t think of any negatives for this book. It was well written, had a great plot and wonderful characters. I’m super looking forward to the final book

I received this as a ARC and can confirm this is an honest review. Please look at my profile to see my other reviews which can be pretty blunt.

“Luca” is such an amazing addition to this series! It’s the kind of book that wraps around your heart and doesn’t let go. Watching Luca navigate his new life in the Otherworld with so much love and vulnerability was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. His relationship with Cair is everything—sweet, spicy, protective, and deeply soul-connected. The way Cair would do anything to keep Luca safe made me melt more than once.

But what really pulled me in was Luca’s personal journey—his need to uncover the truth about his father and the quiet ache of feeling like something’s missing, even in a seemingly perfect life. The mystery, the emotional depth, the hidden doors (literal and metaphorical)—it all kept me hooked. Add in the high-stakes trip to the Outerlands, reapers, secrets, and sacrifice, and you’ve got a story that balances romance and adventure beautifully.

If you love MM fantasy with soulmates, magic, and characters you’ll root for with everything in you, Luca is a must-read. Just make sure you start from book one, because this series is one amazing ride. 💚💜

Since books 1 and 2 in this series each focussed on a different couple (as is common in this genre of fantasy series) I wasn't sure how I felt about book 3 going back to Luca/Cair's POV but it was fabulously done. It starts with a slight overlap in timelines with book 2 and quickly weaves its own way, deep into the Otherworld. As always, Hawk's world-building is spot on and writing is witty and engaging, making you fall for the characters continually.

Whilst I think you can totally enjoy book 2 (Teighan) without having read book 1, this one definitely needs to be read in sequence. In general, the series is low on angst and high on steam and while this one definitely continues with the steam (Cair giving the mile high club new meaning) it's not without it's major emotional drama - I was positively wrung out at one point. Can't say more without major spoilers. It ends on a cliff hanger...bring on book 4!

Luca is the third book in Eryn Hawk’s Veiled City series. Best read in order, this book CAN be read as a standalone. Although, the beginning chapters really lean heavily on the first two books.
You come away with a few obvious points. Cair and Luca are very much in love and six months after mating, their love is still in that super sweet stage. And that the king, Cair's father, really needs to go away. Very, very, far away.
There's some angst. Luca never knew his Fae father and why he abandoned his mother. Cair helps him follow up on the clues he finds. There's danger, court intrigue. Luca and Cain's relationship gets tested, a lot of scenery chewing to get back to their HEA.
There are some plot ends left hanging and the overarching plot needs resolution. The author promises answers in book four, which is about Cair's brother.
I received an advanced copy from GRR and this is my review.

The evolution of this series is top tier; the character growth, the storylines, the writing. Each book gets better and better. This is a series you absolutely have to read in order because there are major storylines that cross over from book to book. I like how the author brings in characters from the other books and keeps them in the forefront, usually in series the other couples disappear after their book is finished. But in this series you see and hear about Alex and Tee a lot, which I enjoyed.

This is the only series I’ve read by this author, but I highly recommend. I call this style of book a Sunday afternoon read, because once I start it I want to finish it in a single afternoon.

I’m excited for the next and final book to bring it all together.

*Reader Note: I received a free copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews (GRR), and this is my honest review.

Review: I throughly enjoyed this book. We once again join Luca and Cair as they go on their journey to find Lucas dad. I was nice to get the see them again and see how their relationship has grown during the time that they have been mated. The first half of the book was just a nice peaceful read as they traveled through the Otherworld. We then get some crazy happenings that shake things up for awhile and get to see a new side of Cair (that we all knew he would be like) Then the last half we get to spend time while Luca learns who his father is and all the details and get to learn even more of himself.

Beyond excited for the next book with Orian and how this war is going to go.

My favorite of the series. I'm a big fan of established couples. I love seeing them during their HEA, just living their lives and loving each other.

Cair and Luca were adorable together. Both very much in love and committed to making each other happy. Part of that for Cair was helping Luca find his dad and his place on the other side of the veil.

Plenty of steamy times, sweetness, some action and surprises along the way.

I adored Luca's dad, Zadock, and his partner, Flick. After checking with the author, I did pick up correctly that Flick was trans. I loved that little hint! It just added something to the lore of the world for me. There were so many tiny pieces of information that I just gobbled up. Like Luca, I wanted to spend more time at his dad's cottage. Luca and Cair seemed happiest there.

Cannot wait for the drama Orian is going to bring!

An emotional roller coaster. This series keeps getting better every book and I'm here for it. The plot and characters felt more rounded out/smoothed out. I really loved watching the relationship continue to grow for our characters, and get answers on some questions. But not all the questions were answered, pleasantly surprised there will be another book. Will absolutely be reading the next one.

END OF BOOK SPOILERS, read at your own risk but I feel like I have to say it.

Luca and Cair has settled down in the Otherworld and tries to navigate living with Cairs family. For Luca it's not just a whole new world, but also finding out that he has fae blood in him and now being considered a member of the royal family.
But there's still the question of who his father is and what happened to him and when they finally get a lead Luca and Cair has to travel to the outerlands to look for answers.

I really like this series!
The world building is great, the romance is amazing and I really want to find out how things will play out in the next book and I can't wait to find out more about Cairs brother

So glad to be back in their world. I really missed Cair and Luca and their everlasting love for each other. And wings, never forget about Cair's wings🔥🔥. This book gives us suspense on a few levels, the search for Luca's father and the adventures along the way. Cair's father's true colors are revealed, as well as the pairs plans for the future those planned and those desired. I love all the paranormal creatures in this world orcs, golem, nymphs, basiliks, mermaids and a few more. I am glad to see Orian will have a part, he is interesting and then there will be an off-shoot of this series as well. I read this book in one day, it was just that good!

Another book with Cair and Luca

I had to wait for a while after finishing this book before I could review it because it made me so emotional, but I just kept trying to remember that it’s a romance. This book is more about Cair and Luca, but it’s more about Luca and his search for his father. I enjoyed the first book about these two and it was great to get more story about them. It is rather difficult to explain these books because they are so rich in detail and the storyline, which runs through the books, is marvelously complex and interesting to read. Because of the lovely storytelling by Eryn Hawk I’m always impressed by how much she manages to pack into the books because the reading just flies by. She always makes me feel like I am right in the middle of the story rather than just reading it. There is one more book planned for this series and I really hope that it’s not the last we see of this world.
