for fans of ACOTAR, this is a must read! 🌹
witches, elves, seers, aengels, and best of all…a pegasus!!!
the story starts on our main characters birthday, with an uncovered secret, leading swiftly onto a journey through enchanted lands.
each new place visited, brings a new surprise. my personal favourite being ‘handsome stranger’, who we come to know as Finn, and later as someone who holds a lot of significance. and what’s better than a handsome stranger, but a handsome winged stranger!! everyone needs a shadow daddy with a dark backstory 🤭

“But laying here in this bed, I realise that home is no longer just a place, it's a feeling. And without Finn beside me, I feel utterly homeless.”

We love a strong FMC, and she really is a good one! Her backstory, the betrayals, the love and the heartache all make her stronger. my favourite characters are absolutely the wolf pack, their personalities fit so well together and bounce off Aurelia’s perfectly. Rowan’s playful personality brought a smile to my face every time.

The ending of the book was a whirlwind, the plot twist, the chemistry… i need the next book and i need it now!

ARC Review

Finished reading this debut novel and WOW, it was such a fun read!!! The world was super easy and
interesting to dive into without feeling too complicated, making it really enjoyable to follow along. The tropes that always pull me in-hidden identities, a possessive MMC (Finn with wings? Yes, please!), and a solid mix of tension and magic-are front and center in this story.

I loved how the plot kept building and uncovering twists I didn't expect, and there were so many moments that had me hooked to find out what happened next. Finn, the morally grey shadow daddy, definitely stole the show for me! And that cliffhanger at the end? What does it mean?!! I did not see that coming at all, and now I'm counting the days until I can find out more!!

Overall, Heir of the Autumn Queen ticks all the right boxes for me! It's the first in a trilogy and I'll definitely be picking up the next in the series to find out what happens next with Aurelia & Finn!!

ARC Team Review:

Where do I begin?

**Heir of the Autumn Queen** is Savannah Stoltz's debut novel, but you wouldn’t guess it. The story follows Aurelia, a courageous and witty mortal woman from the town of Staghorn. She leads a normal life with loving parents, an older brother who teaches her, and a best friend she can always rely on. But when she turns 20, everything changes. Aurelia discovers she is not who she thought she was, and now she must pivot to uncover her true identity and what she wants to do with that knowledge.

Determined to learn about her origins and her future, she embarks on a journey that introduces her to Finn, a morally grey, darkly handsome, winged man. Finn is fiercely protective of Aurelia and full of swagger as he teases her into joining him on an adventure. Together, they navigate a world filled with political intrigue, betrayal, love, and the unknown.

Savannah hits the nail on the head in the romantasy genre. This book features plenty of morally ambiguous characters, a touch of Shadow Daddy, and secrets galore. With just the right amount of spice and a thrilling cliffhanger, **Heir of the Autumn Queen** is sure to satisfy romantasy readers. Don’t miss out—pick it up when it releases on November 1, 2024!

First and foremost this was my first ever ARC read, I’m grateful for having the chance to be able to read this book before its release (NOV. 1ST 2024) so thank you Savannah!

I’m truly in awe of how this is the authors debut novel, this book was beautifully written and had so much content and plenty of different characters to connect to. I was invested in this book the entire time, I didn’t want to put it down. This does have longer chapters which made it a little bit hard for me but that doesn’t change the fact that this book was honestly such a good story with such a great plot. The spice level is honestly perfect as well, not too much and not too little. This does end in a cliffhanger which is making me want to pull my hair out but I’m extremely excited for the rest of this trilogy and to see this author grow. This deserves so much hype and I can see everyone talking about it.

Auri had her world shattered by learning her who life has been a lie! She leaves home to find out what really happened and where she comes from. Meeting people along the way and fighting her own battle with the friends she meets!

My jaw is on the floor with this cliff hanger!!! The story is well written and has depth! It has lots of details and the world building is amazing! This is the perfect mix of action & a little bit of spice spinkled in!

Ready for book 2 already!!!

Cute but very predictable book in a fantasy world. In the beginning Our FMC makes quick, rash decisions based on minimal information and then things just seem to conveniently work out for her for the most part. The second half gets way better and had me really engaged. Long lost princess vibes but instead of everyone searching for their beloved princess, most of them want to kill her or use her. Was it amazing, no. Will I read the next one? Probably.

It was not a bad book and the story had a lot of potential but sometimes I struggled with the minimalistic writing style and lack of character depth. At times It feels like our FMC is an npc just going through the motions and lacking the emotions and depth that someone experiencing the things that are happening should have. The romantic interest is hot but emotionally bland and they somehow fall in love within days and he’s immediately obsessed? I hate to say it, I liked Shepherd better than Finn even though he’s blond. Not a bad read, but a very easy one, if you’re looking for world building. This isn’t for you.

Heir of the Autumn Queen by Savannah Stoltz 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Okay, I don’t even know where to start because this book has RUINED ME. I finished it this morning, but honestly? I’m still not over it, and I don’t think I ever will be.

Aurelia’s journey? PURE PERFECTION. Every moment, every decision, every feeling—it all felt so personal like I was standing right beside her, living through it all. When those ancient priests called her the “Golden One,” and the prophecy came into play? CHILLS. I was shaking. I am shaking. The lore is just so deep and rich, I want to crawl into this world and never leave.

Now let’s talk about the characters because I could scream about them forever. Rowan? He’s my emotional support character. The funny guy who sneaks his way into your heart when you least expect it. And Finneas—OH MY GOD, FINN. The shadow daddy. Mysterious, brooding, and SO compelling. These characters aren’t just characters; they’re my new obsessions.

And THE WORLD-BUILDING?? Savannah didn’t just create a world; she created a masterpiece. From the mystical Staghorn Forest to the political intrigue of the four kingdoms, every detail pulled me in deeper. The stakes, the magic, the mythical creatures—it’s all just so alive.

BUT THAT CLIFFHANGER. I’m screaming, dying, throwing up. It’s INTENSE. It’s EMOTIONAL. It’s PAINFUL. I’m just sitting here, staring at the wall, asking myself how I’m supposed to survive until the second book.

This book is everything I’ve ever wanted in a fantasy: dynamic, epic, and completely consuming. I didn’t want it to end, but now that it has, I feel EMPTY. Savannah, I need book two like I need air.

✨ 5/5 STARS ✨
Do yourself a favor—read this book. But also prepare to have your heart shattered in the best way possible.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to LOVE this book. The blurb had me hooked and it sounded like an excellent book 1 in a trilogy.

It was alright. I did enjoy the story, and I will be carrying on the series when released.

My main feelings towards this book are mixed. At some points, I really liked the FMC, but at others I really disliked her. She was also very one dimensional. I feel like her feelings were completely skimmed over. IMO someone who learns what she learns should have more feelings than what's explained and it just felt like it lacked.
The story felt predictable in a sense of... FMC gets gifted a dress, suddenly gets a ball invitation... has a conversation about a power and hey presto, 5 minutes later has to use that power and so on and so on. The plot is also sometimes lacking - the journey through the pass is so hyped up and you expect this badass journey, but nothing happens.

I did really like the FMC, but he does give me Tamlin vibes. I did not like the second romantic interest - it feels very forced when the FMC is not looking for love.

There was mention of the courts, but the world building is a very small part of this book.

It does end on a cliffhanger, which I'm interested to see where it goes - because if it's who you are expecting it to be then I have so many questions because that doesn't fit with the plot. I'm personally hoping its something else as that would really add more depth to the story and give a reason to explore Auri's emotions much further.

I really do hope the second book delves deeper into the worlds and has a bit more depth into Auri's character. I'm not saying this book was boring, it wasn't - it was just a very easy read.

4.5⭐️ rounded up
Savannah’s writing style is very easy to read, and the pacing was perfect. I don’t know that I’ve read through a book this fast in quite some time. I tore through it. This is a great beginner Romantasy, with no super intense world building or long prose. The characters were likeable enough, and the storyline is absolutely intriguing.
I looooved all the fantasy creatures and powers discussed. Witches, so many creatures, aengels, wolves?? And the wolves gave major Twilight vibes so middle school Bethannie was kicking her feet with each description of them🤭💕

My main complaints that held me back from 5 stars:
-Sometimes the characters felt a bit surface level. I wanted to know more about them & their stories. I especially wanted to know more about Briar. I loved her.
Also, how is she gonna just, like, not react more when she finds out she’s literally a princess?? I don’t know what I was expecting, but it felt like such a minimal reaction for such a major thing🥲
-I wish so much we would’ve gotten more immersive descriptions of the world. There’s a fine line in fantasy between super intense world building and leaving something to be desired. They travel SO far in this book, through so many lands, and really the only part that was semi-descriptive was the crossing of the mountains towards the beginning. I wanted to know more about the different lands, and feel like I was there traveling along with them more than just the descriptive attack scenes.

Overall, I’m so excited to read the next book in the series, which comes out in just a couple of days!!

Shoutout to Savannah’s husband, Daniel—a new coworker of mine—who recommended her books to me when he heard I love to read. Even better that she writes one of my favorite genres🤭

i enjoyed the general storyline of the heir of the autumn queen 🍂 the concept had a lot of potential, and there were moments when the plot pulled me in

however, i often found myself wanting more from the characters - they were briefly described, leaving me wishing i could learn more about their personalities, motivations, and backgrounds

this lack of depth made it hard to fully connect with them 👀

the book was an easy read, but i sometimes struggled with the writing style 📖

it felt too minimalistic, lacking the detail and information i craved, especially when it came to world-building

for example, when the characters were traveling through forests or mountains, i wanted to feel like i was there with them - to see the landscape, hear the sounds, and sense the atmosphere. without those vivid details, i was left wanting more from the experience 🌳

overall, it’s a solid read, but i needed more immersion to truly fall in love with the story

I had the privilege to get an ARC copy of this book and absolutely loved it! I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Aurelia's journey back to her roots in this fast-paced introduction to the Autumn Queen Trilogy is exciting and easy to read. The characters introduced are all unique, and add wonderful layers to the story as our Auri makes her way through the 4 kingdoms. This novel includes a strong female lead, a tall, dark, and handsome male with wings, a fabulous animal companion, and a hint of found family. I can see where the author is setting us up for twists and turns to come with the next 2 books in the series, and will be impatiently waiting for them to be released!

While I think there could have been a bit more world building, especially as the first book of the series, I think the author did a great job of creating loveable and relatable characters that draw you into the story. Some additional world building would have helped the story flow a bit more as the events did seem a choppy with little build up surrounding some. I am excited to learn more about the unique magic system of this fantasy world and to uncover more about the main character, and would definitely recommend giving this book a read!

Starting with the best parts of the story.
1. Auri - she is a strong character, who holds her ground, is kind and compassionate and is completely badass in ruining things for sexist men
2. Mystery powers : We get a glimpse of what Auri can do throughout the book and honestly I am hungry for more. For her to learn her abilities, recognise herself. I am here for her journey
3. The banter between Finn and Auri - The angsty angst and the exchange of flirt before you know what is going to happen is top notch.
4. Selena : I have Great expectations from the villain. Please don't disappoint me 🥺
5. So many fictional characters : The skysworn, the wolf shifters (Shepherd 💖), the rovern or the mordeka, the author did her research well.

Where I think it missed
I couldn't comprehend why Auri would like to leave her wonderful home to go on an adventure which certainly isn't favourable for her life. Because in the beginning she felt right at home, then suddenly the seer, the revelation and she wants to go. I understood later that she felt the need to go due to reasons you should read in the book, but this was not told in the beginning when she left and I genuinely found that odd.

This is a fast-paced book. That can be good for some and bad for others. I enjoy reading books that don’t waste time using a 1/3 of the book just traveling. And while a lot of traveling happens in this book, plot is happening and characters are developing during that time.

Speaking of characters, I loved the variety of people we meet in this book. You have Auri’s brother and best friend from Staghorn, which you only see for a short period at the beginning but I have a feeling they will come back around in future books. Then you have the wolf pack. Omg, my heart!! My favorite trope of all time is found family and I just love these boys. They’re all unique in their own cohesive way. Rowan is just the best friend side kick character you love!

Finn….finn Finn Finn Finn Finn…..he sweeps you off your feet and breaks your heart at the same time. There’s so much more to him than what’s there on the page right now. And I love his and Auri’s connection.

But we also are getting this love triangle but not a love triangle with Auri, Finn, and Shepard. I say not a love triangle because we all know which way it’ll go eventually, but I do love Shep too!

Can’t wait for book 2!

A single visit to a local seer turns Aurelia’s world upside down. With new revelations about her true heritage, she embarks on an epic quest to correct the wrongs of her past. Along the way, she must defend those her parents once vowed to protect from her mother’s dark and twisted twin. Enter Finn, a mysteriously alluring companion who offers comfort, though he harbors secrets of his own. Will Aurelia fulfill her destiny, or will her aunt reach her first?
This is a slow-burn, fantasy adventure with a journey that pulls you in. While some parts felt a bit slow, and certain action scenes could have been richer, it’s a solid read for fans of character-driven epic tales. I really enjoyed the characters and world-building, which drew me immediately into the story. I also love a good betrayal storyline that sets the hero on a path of vengeance, and the cliffhanger at the end left me eager to see what unfolds in book two.

Wow, I really really enjoyed this book. The world building is top tier and I love love loveeee the FMC Aurelia. Aurelia really is little miss trouble, with trouble always finding her, but seeing her character grow has been so great. I think she’s really cool and her story is so interesting that I cannot WAIT to find out more about her. The story that Savannah wrote is so well done, I felt like I wasn’t just thrown into a world not knowing what’s going on. She wrote things and paced things in a way that made me feel like I understood what was going on and I was able to keep track of everything. I didn’t find myself being lost and I also loved that characters mentioned in the beginning were not forgotten, which is sometimes an occurrence in fantasy books. The ending of chapter 33 killed and the ending of the book has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to come out. I highly recommend this book, it was such a great read.

4/5 - Heir of the Autumn Queen is Savannah Stoltz’s debut novel and the first book in her trilogy series. I enjoyed journeying through the four kingdoms of Iaselion with Aurelia (Auri) as she sought justice, discovered more about herself, and met new companions along the way. I especially loved the additions of Shepherd and Rowan.

Though I liked the chemistry between Auri and Finn, I wished there was more time for their feelings to really develop. There were also a few things that bothered me early on, like how easily Auri decided to leave her home to embark on this journey, but it didn’t take away from the story as a whole. Overall, I enjoyed the book and the ending makes me excited to see where the series goes!

Thank you Savannah Stoltz for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars

My jaw is on the floor! I binged 3/4 of this book in one day (I never do that) and that ending is brutal. It was quite the ride.

It was such a fun read. It has everything you want in a fantasy book:
(May contain spoilers)

Lost heir
BA female protagonist
Prophecy
Self discovery
Mythical creatures
Magic
Love (possible soulmates?)
Banter (he's so cocky and I love it!)
Shadow user with wings
Betrayal
Shifter wolves who treat her as their own.
Alpha who may have a thing for our protagonist
Shadow and Alpha are enemies
Possible love triangle?

There are two open door scenes.

A beautiful magical world that isn't confusing or hard to follow.

It's so good and such a great set up for book two. There are so many ways it can go and I am so ready for it!

It's going to be a trilogy and I am truly so excited for Savannah and her debut novel!

On the whole, I enjoyed the read. I found the storyline to be fairly fast paced and intriguing. I wanted to know more about our badass FMC and where the story was going to take her. The supporting cast of characters was diverse and interesting, they supported the plot well and added additional depth to both our FMC (via their interactions with her) and to the storyline itself. I did have a bit of difficulty with the writing style as it is different than what I typically look for in a read but given that this is a debut novel it wasn't enough to deter me from continuing. I did take my rating down a star as a result. All in all, a fairly well done debut novel and I look forward to seeing this author continue this series.

For a debut novel, Savannah really knew what she was doing. This book is going to be the new IT girl, I can see it now. Auri gets her life seemingly turned upside down on the day of her 20th birthday, and after finding out her true parentage, goes on a journey to fight back for what belongs to her. Her journey isn’t one that comes from a place of privilege and claiming that “she deserves” what was lost to her, but comes from a place for wanting to make her kingdom better for everyone, even the poor. The author deeply expresses how important chosen family is as much as biological family, and that really made my heart happy. There’s winged men, shifters, witches, and of course a beautiful world that was built up. Can’t wait to keep reading this series!!

I need the next book… yesterday

Heir of Autumn Queen is absolutely captivating. I picked it up and read it in one sitting—I just couldn’t put it down! The FMC’s complex feelings about Finn were perfection—he’s easily the kind of brooding, magnetic character who steals your heart (hello, shadow daddy energy). And that bonus scene? Absolute chef’s kiss! This story is perfect for fans of sweeping romances, enchanting worlds, and characters you’ll obsess over. Savannah Stoltz has crafted a tale you won’t forget.

Overall, this was a pretty fast-paced, easy read. I was immediately hooked & invested into the characters, & grew to love so many of the side characters as well.

I thought it had a great balance of characters you were routing for & characters you loved to hate (so good, especially in fantasy).

The BANTER really made the book all the better. The plot twists were TWISTY.

The main thing that hindered this being a 4-5⭐️ read for me personally:
• pacing— some parts felt rushed / hurried along, while other parts felt a little dragged out + repetitive.

I hate writing reviews but Ms Savannah deserves all the praise. What started as a simple 'well I could write a book' in her notes app turned into an actual well written story. Amazing. I normally don't enjoy fantasy but I immediately felt dropped into her world and loved every moment. The banter was amazing, the spice was 👌🏻 and her writing is beautiful. Loved this, love her and can't wait to read part 2.

This was an excellent debut novel for this author. Has great character developments, and the chemistry between Auri & Finn was amazing. Auri set off to find more about herself & has a pretty eventful journey so far, including coming across some unique creatures. Loved Rowan’s goofiness too. Leaves on a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting.
