What happens when a powerful witch is willing to go too far to get what she wants?
Jax is a wolf shifter who doesn’t believe in love or commitment. All he wants is to run his club and help his brother, Malachai, navigate the tough times hitting the pack. He keeps a few women on speed dial—willing to share his bed, but never his heart.
Ayanna is a beautiful, curvy witch used to getting what she wants, and she wants Jax. But when her feminine wiles can’t change him, she turns to desperate measures to win his heart.
Will Jax resist and fall in love, or will this love spell drag them both straight into a horror story?
(Update seems the second book isn’t a continuation so knocked my rating down a bit….because why would you end it like that 😭)
At first I was not sure about this book but once I got into it, I had a good? time. The ending has me curious about the second book so I will continue on.
We follow Jax, a wolf shifter who ain’t looking for love but is out here slanging his D like it’s nobody’s business. He’s one of those people who’s been through some shit and tries to fuck the rage and pain away. (So much I could unpack here but I’ll leave it at that ) Despite all of that, his monologue seemed mature enough to where he was relatable (Take that how you want lol 🤪) But anyways, Jax is hired for a job to protect a coven of witches and let’s just say………….things get interesting.
I'm A big fan of BBW and shifters especially strong with tattoos lol, anyway with the way Jax and Malachi were raised in an abusive home by their alpha father it's understandable that neither of them wanted love or in Malachi case not wanting to have all those essences attached to him. The way Jax handle women some may say he deserved what the witch did to him but no one deserves to have their free will taken only to have it back fire not giving the desired effects, happy the Fae princess came in and saved Jax only for his wolf to find his mate. This first book was such a build up I can't wait to see what happens to these characters in book 2 as well as meeting the new characters.
I wanted to stop reading after the first 50 pages but I kept it up and I’m not sure why . The book was all over and I can’t tell you what the plot was because it didn’t seem to be one until the last few pages. Though short this could’ve been so much more than what it was. I’ll start the next book but if it continues the same then I won’t finish the series . This book was just a lot of babble.
This action packed book felt like a movie or TV series! It was great to know his background and how that makes him reluctant to love. Ayanna was absolutely crazy! It’s so much going on. I wonder if Ayanna was the siren herself. It’s so many questions and happy he found his mate in the end! Ready for the next one!
Not only was the book weird it was so confusing. The paragraphs all repeated themselves. We get it. He doesn’t want commitment. Why in the world would she accuse a hook up of trying to use her? The fae bits are premature. Just aggravating. Author needs to practice.
Melody Lynch creates these paranormal worlds and characters that will have you absolutely entranced and intrigued! Refusing the Call had me invested with these wolves, witches, & Fae and the way the story builds and takes off whew 😅!
This one pack is going to be so upset that one of their own is mated to him. I guess they may get there merge after all. Or maybe she will join their pack. I don't trust his best friend at all.
