This book Not one, but two ice queens, close proximity, enemies to lovers, a boss/employee relationship, a solved mystery, and a happily ever after.

DNF at 48%. Something about the writing bothered me from page 1, I'm not sure what exactly but it was driving me crazy. The plot could've been interesting but the way it was written was so incredibly boring I didn't care whatsoever. Suzette was so annoying oh lord, and I didn't feel anything for Julie either. But what finally made me DNF was the lack of chemistry. Suddenly they were kissing and having sex and I didn't understand it at all. I did not see any chemistry and did not get the impression that they were attracted to each other or liked each other. The authors were trying to make us believe that there was attraction (at least from Julies side) but they failed miserably imo.
This book was really entertaining. I was completely absorbed in the mystery the women were trying to solve, as well as the developing connection between Julie and Suzette. There are many characters, and many twists and turns as well. The two main characters didn’t feel all that icy to me, but they were standoffish enough to make the story work. The setting was great, too. It offered so many extra characters, locations, and incidents, both innocent and sinister, but I never got confused. There is so much going on, I don’t know how the authors kept up with all the characters and the events.
Go on the cruise with Captain Julie Briggs and the crew. Help them find who is killing people to cover up ancient artifacts that are stolen and being forged. Suzette is the expert that needs to get things right. After her last advice about a vase was a fake she is just trying to reestablish herself. When on of the other art expert is murdered , Julie and Suzette are working together to clear her name name but they start a relationship during all the crazy things happening on the ship. A good mystery that will keep you guessing who is the killer.
I really enjoyed this book. I read romance novels and rarely read murder mysteries but this was a good combination. It is almost impossible to figure out “who did it”, so my advice is to relax and enjoy the story. There is a lot of adventure and excitement in the story, some steamy sex, and overall, you want to be on the cruise with them. And who doesn’t love a woman in crisp white captain’s uniform? The ending is a little jumbled, and perhaps a sequel is in the future, but overall this is an enjoyable read.
What a great idea . 4 authors writing an ice queen mafia tale. Edale Lane Entangled with the Mob .The Gal Gadot looking mobster's daughter, Allegra, is pitted against her FBI undercover body guard, Jett Jenson. What could go wrong? Lane makes some good comments about the role of women in the Mob...can choose my bodyguard but not my spouse, a good Italian husband. Some witty scenes. I liked the texting conversation. and of course the hot romance Escaping to New Zealand as a choice. Really? What a prospect. Maybe another story. Onto the next Queen
Wow, clear skies and calm seas but a rollercoaster ride of emotions inside the Ocean Queen! Intrigue, forgery, murder, and romance skillfully plotted and excellently written. I highly recommend this book for your utter enjoyment.
What a great concept for a story and I loved the setting on a cruise ship. The mystery kept you guessing with many twists and turns and the love interest was completely believable. Can't believe how much research must have gone into this book too with all the Asian and Chinese antiquities and museums involved it felt like you had gained a fair bit of knowledge by the end without putting in the hard slog. This is an unusual genre but I find it really works here.
