The Jawhara Sheikhs #1

The Sheikh's Pregnant Bride

Rate this book
When Sheikh Kamal first saw Erin from across the ballroom he knew he must have her - and he always got what he wanted.

But Erin isn't like the other girls he knows. Even for an American she is exceptionally feisty, strong and stubbornly independent. A challenge to him. Yet he can't keep his eyes off her, her stunning beauty kept him captivated for the whole evening.

When Erin first saw Sheikh Kamal she had no idea he was royalty and leader of Jawhara, one of the largest (and wealthiest) countries in the Middle East. She just saw him as an irresistible handsome man, tall, with deep brown eyes and a muscular physique. Definitely her type.

He was perfect - apart from his personality.

He was so arrogant, controlling, and dominating. Everything she told herself she NEVER wanted in a man. Yet, she feels such a strong pulls towards him, even his scent is intoxicating..

They sneak away from the ball and go back to Erin's apartment where they share an intense night of love making. In the morning Kamal is called urgently back to his country.

As the weeks go by, and the gifts from Kamal pile up, Erin makes a shocking discovery. She is carrying the heir to a kingdom..

When Kamal discovers this, he will do anything to bring her to his country and make her his bride. But Erin has other ideas..

It was ok. I didn't care for the rapid, glossed over development of the storyline, nor did I find the characters to have any depth or even to be believable beyond their stereotypes.

"The Sheikh's Pregnant Bride" is the first book in the Jawhara Sheikhs series.

This book has a promising title if you are into babies and sheiks, which I am. I was hoping for a lot of drama and some passion. Sadly, there was none to be had.

I didn't feel any connection to the characters at all. There was no chemistry between Kam and Erin to speak of. There really wasn't much of a plot. The author told a story rather than drew me into it. I didn't feel as if I was "there".

I don't think I would feel this way if the book had been longer and more detail had been provided. Kam and Erin met at a party and talked for an hour and then went back to her place. Well, what did they talk about? How did they know they liked each other? Give me something that leads up to that first kiss and when it finally happens, make it count. Everything else will fall into place without a whole lot of effort.

How did Kam react when he found out Erin was pregnant? Was he excited about having an heir? Was he furious because she'd told him she protected herself when he didn't have a condom and she ended up pregnant anyway? How did he know she had no social diseases? It's not like he ran a background check on her while they were on the terrace. This guy is royalty for Heaven's sake. He isn't going to jump into bed and bump uglies with just anybody.

In my opinion, if this book had been longer and not so rushed to get it out on the market, it would have been an awesome story. It had all the makings of something great and then...nothing. Bummer.

This is the first book in the Jawhara Sheikhs series. Erin is a strong, intelligent, independent woman, she's a lawyer who works pro-bono for the underprivileged. She lives with her cousin/best friend, Shira who begs her to attend a work party with her. Erin agrees and never in her wildest dreams did she expect to meet a sexy Sheikh who wants to take her to bed. Sheikh Kamal is the leader of Jawhara and the CEO of his oil company. He didn't think he'd meet his future wife and mother of his children at a party in America for his company.

My Thoughts
"Kam" was too controlling for my liking. A short story that's perfect if you're killing some time and don't want anything too intensive

This was a kindle free novella. One of those books that I like to describe as oyster crackers; something you consume in between books to clean your palette in preparation for your next book. Great for book hangovers. This book was silly, with no plot. And don't let the cover fool you folks, not as racy as it looks. I appreciated the diversity and foreign aspect. But it's basically about a pregnancy, love and marriage that results from a one night stand in the span of 8 weeks. I know this is the first in a set but I won't be reading the rest. Sometimes I can enjoy these when there is some good chemistry or 'feels' but this one did not have either for me.

Three chapters were enough for me to work out that I was not into this story. It was bland and I just could not stop skimming when it never grabbed my attention.

Short but sweet. The ending was too abrupt. But I will probably read the next book in the series.

Ironically I was about to DNF this book when the chapter finished and look at that, there was the epilogue. 🤣🙈 No idea it was so short.

Anyhow... This book was SO DUMB.

It was very instalust. Definitely NOT love. No matter what the author wanted me to believe.

The hero was flat and too controlling. Most disappointing of all was that he wasn't even the sexy type of controlling and alpha like I usually love. It was annoying and rude.

The heroine was a moron. Runs into danger because she had a savior complex and thinks rules don't apply to her. And of course she was supposed to argue with the hero about how he ordered her around and essentially kidnaps her but oh well! Who needs logic and character continuity when we can fix things with a fake proposal (like he was gonna let her say no 🙄) and I love you admissions???

The author tried to twist logic and how things actually happen in the type of world she built to her own preference for the story she was telling. It was just too much for me. None of it made sense and was just dumb.

So yeah, this book was a bunch of dumb and I hated it.

I didn't really enjoy this book much at all, I just don't feel like there was much of a story in this book. I feel like I missed the part where they feel in love, and I feel like somehow Erin somehow went from being this strong and independent person to letting Kamal treating her as property. Sadly this is the lowest rating I could give this book since one stars are for those I haven't finished.

Erin never thought her life would turn out this way. She had doubts after her failed relationship with Steven. Her cousin worked for this company and they just completed a deal with a company from Jawhara. Shira wanted her cousin to join her at the party. Shira was telling her cousin about the man she met but he would not make a move. She didn’t understand it. She wanted Erin by her side. The place where the party was historical and beautiful. Her cousin was the man she wanted and found out he wants her also. He didn’t want to mess up the deal. Now the deal is complete wanted her. Erin met the most handsome man. He walked over and they start talking. He introduced himself as Kam. Her cousin and Khalil came towards them asking if they wanted to go to club. Kam was intrigued by her he wanted more time with her. Kam wanted Erin to come back to hotel. She invited him to her place not feeling comfortable because they met. Their nightcap turned into a night of passion and desire. Kam wanted to tell Erin who he was but one of his guards gave him some news. Kam needed to leave. Kam left one of his guards to protect her. Erin went to go to work and found she now has a guard and a driver with a car. Her cousin told her who Kam really was. Erin couldn’t believe it. She got a surprise she never expected and made Kam jump into action. Erin not use to the attention ditched her detail and went to her doctor. Exhausted and ill she met her detail. Kam ordered them to bring Erin to the palace. Erin didn’t know or expect her to life to change. Her carrying the heir and Kam’s demands is putting stress on her.I can’t wait to read what comes next

Only For Fans of Sheikh's Romances

You will only enjoy this book if you're a fan of multicultural books with Sheikhs. Otherwise you'll be disappointed with Kamal, the Sheikh's overbearing personality. You'll also think that Erin gave in too easily and is simply a gold digging doormat.

For those who enjoy these types of romances, this is a quick, really quick, read. Kamal apparently took over Erin's life and made all decisions with no input from her. He knew from one experience that she was a woman who would find a way to accomplish what she wanted. After all they love each other and would grow together. It's understood in these books and we were given a small glimpse in Erin's reaction to the refugee camp. For the rest, you have to use your imagination.

This is book one of three of "The Jawhara Sheikhs Series". It was too short with little backstory for the characters. It's evident that the characters will carry from book to book. Even though I enjoyed the quick read, I don't think I'll pay for a series that is very typical for its genre. There are books of this genre with fully developed characters and a nice plot which are longer and may be worth buying. This is not one. It's not bad for a short read for those who enjoy this genre.

Whirlwind long distance romance
The Sheikh’s Pregnant Bride (The Jawhara Sheikhs Book 1) by Leslie North features a seriously dominant hero paired with a highly independent heroine. Kamal and Erin only have one night together, but this one night leads to forever.
Despite the distance, Kamal finds ways of controlling which drives Erin crazy and fires her temper. Communication does not seem to be their strong suit, but Kamal does not let that stop him.
I enjoyed this sweet romance with a little bit of dominant steam. Kamal is truly alpha and dominant all the way while Erin is definitely not a fan of being managed! These interactions are often quite feisty indeed. This series seems a bit different from past series by this author. Other character perspectives are included and is quite refreshing as well as intriguing, leading the reader to take an interest in the following books.
Overall, Erin is at times steamrolled, but is determined enough to get important points across to Kamal so that the HEA is store can come true.

Shira persuades her cousin Erin to go to the works party. They both got dressed up and went. Shira was talking to Khalil when Kamal spotted him. Then when he looked a red haired woman in the the group caught his eye. Khalil or kale for short watched his brothers interest in Erin and decided this was a good time to distract Shira and calm her nerves. Kam was introduced to the two women by Kale. Kam asked Erin if she would like to take a walk in the formal gardens. When they went outside Erin got a stone in her shoe Kam guided her to a bench and removed her shoe and stone. Just then Erin noticed two men had followed them, Kam explained that it was too keep them safe. Erin asked him about his country and Kam was glad to talk about his country. When Kale and Shira asked if they wanted to go to a local dance club with them they both declined. When Kam took Erin home in a limo they went the long way around. Kam spent the night then had to leave abruptly telling Erin he would be in touch. He left a bodyguard and a car for her to use. I’m not going to spoil the rest only to say it’s a good story. I received an ARC for an honest review

These books are so good and they just draw you in and keep you turning the pages right up till the very end. Sheikh Kamal is the leader Jawhara and when he see’s Erin for the first time he is stunned by her beauty and wants to get to know her better. Erin is an American and meets the bossy and sexy Sheikh Kamal at a party and they spend a hot and steamy night together and if he wasn’t so bossy and arrogant he would be the perfect guy but in the morning he must leave and return home on an urgent matter and then she finds out who he really is. After returning home some weeks later she finds out that she is pregnant with his heir and after telling him he wants to bring her to his home and make her his bride. But Erin is not sure if she wants to marry the Prince who pushes her buttons and drives her crazy with desire as well. Do these two work out there differences and get their HEA, this is book 1 and I look forward to the next one.

I enjoyed this romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Erin and Sheikh Kamal.

Erin meets a handsome guy at a party but she doesn't know that he the leader of Jawhara one of the wealthiest countries in the Middle East. When she does find out this she is quite surprised by it.

Shelikh Kamal has came to America for business. While at a business party he meets a stunning beauty of a a lady. She is unlike any woman that he has meet before. So when they both decided to return to her house to send a night together. But the next day he has to return to his country for urgent matters.

This was a fun short story to read. It has action, drama, adventure, and secrets. It is the first book in a series of three stories.

Erin meets Sheikh Kamal at a party her cousin takes her to. They have an instant connection and spend the evening talking. When its time to go he has his driver take them to Erin's place and then stays with her. They share an amazing night but an emergency pulls him away. When her cousin comes home Erin down plays how things went with Kamal but when she gets ready for work she is stunned by a car and driver. Its seems that Kamal is set on taking care of her while he is away. Its not too long that she learns that she's pregnant. Will they a future together?

This is an amazing story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

When two worlds collide...

Erin's cousin was insisting she attend some upscale party with her after all
Shira's company was celebrating the new contracts that had just acquired.
Erin's last relationship ended after she'd found out she wasn't enough for him, that he'd been cheating.
Her cousin left with the guy she'd been attached at the hip, something about a nightclub.
Kamal, enjoyed the time he'd had with Erin but he had many demands on him however he didn't leave her unprotected.
When her life became just a little bit more intresting than Erin could ever imagine she finds herself being wisked off to another country.
The question can they move pass the differences between them to have a happy every after?

It only took eye contact from across the room for the chemistry to reel them in at the party. They talked the entire evening ending at her place, but he was gone by morning. Erin only knew him as Kam. Until, her cousin came home telling her, he was Sheikh Kamal Mehalel El-Jawhara. He left behind one of his bodyguard's, a driver, and a car all for Erin's use and protection, when he had to leave town on an emergency. He had intended to stay longer with Erin to court her, but it was impossible. She thought he was a domineering, arrogant man always telling her what to do. Would they ever see their way together? An exciting read as two strong willed, independent individuals forge a life together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Her Unexpected New Role -
Erin wasn’t expecting that her one night of letting go and having fun would lead her to lead her on a life changing adventure. Kamal was happy to experience a few hours of anonymity with Erin, but what he didn’t expect was the connection he felt towards her and the subsequent news he received that would change his life forever. Their combative attitudes and scintillating sexual interactions, made the story quite interesting and ensured each page turn was exciting and worthwhile.

If book one is this enjoyable, then I am definitely looking forward to reading books two and three. This is a definite must read book, that you will be happy to read.

This is not up to Leslie North's usual story, but I rated it 3 1/2 stars thinking it will get better with the follow-on tales. The setup is good and should have developed into a good read with the heroine being a beautiful, smart, dedicated lawyer for a nonprofit meeting a foreign man with whom she has immediate chemistry. Unfortunately, he is called to return to his homeland because of troubles in a bordering country, but not before leaving a guard and town car with a driver to protect and save her from the DC subway with no discussion with her. How does this romance develop with the Sheikh on the other side of the world making unilateral decisions for her? Not well! We'll see if it gets better.

I enjoyed reading this book because I was kept on the edge of my seat. I did not want to put it down! The characters we developed a little in the beginning but were developed more as the story developed. Kamal is a ruler of another country who meets a girl and they end up having sex. A few weeks after kamal returns to his country to handle a situation she ends up sick. She sneaks away from his body guard he demanded to protect her and went to the dr to find out she is pregnant. She is flown to kamal's country and is demanded to be his wife. She has a huge personality and is independent when kamal is demanding and pushy.

Domineering alpha male sheikh with an allegedly strong, independent attorney from the USA.

The heroine was annoying in as much left me rolling your eyes with her childish actions.

Kam is the typical sheikh. He is head strong and controlling but seems to be in a loving as well.

An interesting, if not somewhat confusing read. Hoping the rest of the series improves.

I purchased this book as The Sheikh’s Pregnant Bride (not lover) in 2015 and noted it was not a favourite.

For either Kamal or Erin to call anyone stubborn would be like the pot calling the kettle black!! Even the bodyguard wasn't a match for Erin and the driver didn't stand a chance either!! The need to help put her in some wonky situations but things always worked out for her. Kamal was on another level of stubborn that was dictated by his position as Sheikh...which made their relationship anything but dull!! His brother is finding the same to be true of Shira!!
