Slow to me at first, but it picked up and I am 100% along for the ride! The slow burn is so adorable and I am SO curious as to why the MC H needs to believe he is hideous or die, where did this curse come from and can it be broken? His poor self esteem! I’m glad they got to know each other a bit before she saw how hot he was, so it wasn’t just his looks that she appreciated and liked, it’s truly HIM that she sees and loves. So wholesome!
4, looking forward to the next volume, stars.

"This world is full of lies. That's why the truth no matter how ugly it may be, is the most precious thing."
I have been SO excited to read this story again in physical format because I adore these two characters so much!
It was such a wonderful time being back with them! I was slightly disappointed that one scene I am SOOOOO eagerly anticipating wasn't in this volume, BUT! Everything was so wonderful! Seeing all the other devils and evil beasts scared of Letitia because she is a "Greater Devil" was so satisfying because she has never once been a damsel in distress or sit back and let others take care of her problems. We've seen her genuinely do what she can to help the people around her before now, but in this volume we see her take on even a bigger role than just protector of Halstead.
This leads me to say that she is incredibly awesome and I LOVE how excited Erden gets to see her take control of situations and fight alongside him, whether physically or through "mind games." He is her number one fan and I felt so many of his expressions reflected my own! Absolutely adore his character so much!
The romance is still very much slowburn, though I'm not sure how accurate of a statement that is because it's obvious that both our leads love each other. However, Erden can't keep bringing up divorce papers because that is NOT helping things progress! LOL!
Overall, I loved loved loved this volume! The action, the slow-blooming romance, and everything in between was just as fantastic as reading it the first time! I can't wait to read the final volume!!
Things continue off right where Volume One ended and boy was it intense! I loved how both Letitia and Erden traded in being in the spotlight and how Letitia didn’t “girlboss” her way into winning the fight but in a natural way that fit her feelings on what Kurax was doing to Erden to get her so riled. Even throughout the volume neither of them outshine, so to speak, the other and always work better together, though Letitia does get a bit more screen time due to being the main character but never at the expense of Erden which I greatly appreciated.
The romance is blossoming in such a sweet, slow, wholesome way and I am HERE FOR IT! 😍🥰 It’s so cute with enough yearning/pining/angst to make you root for them to be together yet not so much so that it’s stressful to the point of giving me a hernia, lol. And they’re just too darn cute together even when they’re just doing their “Scooby-Doo investigation” shenanigans without any romance in the slightest, though when Letitia started feeling Erden’s chest at one point then was like “why’d I do that?!” I cracked up, it’s so hilarious and cute in how attracted she is to her husband.
And while I might be in the minority on this point, I DID feel that Erden’s “face reveal” didn’t hit quite as hard as it could have if his face hadn’t already been revealed in the prologue back in Volume One–in all honesty if this were made into an anime (I hope it is someday!!!) I personally would modify that prologue to NOT show his face and cut things off when the people at the party are whispering about why Letitia likes him so much when she goes to him all smiles, as I think this would add more mystery for the viewer of what DOES he look like? We’re already told by the title he’s hot, but how much so or is it misleading? That’s just my two cents but regardless of the lack of mystery and tension that could have been there I still really loved that scene and how things played out, haha.
The artwork continues to be GORGEOUS and the one scene where they find the glass butterflies? STUNNING, that was such a beautiful, heartfelt scene!
Curious to see where things go next, this is a really beautiful and funny series so far!
‼️Content‼️
Language: damn wench; gah; damn; what the; bastards
Violence: fighting with weapons and magic (PG-PG-13); injuries and blood (PG-PG-13); a stone golem is stabbed in the side, shoulder, and head (PG-13); a character cuts a stone golem’s head off (PG-13)
Sexual: a man is called hot; mentions from a woman on how another looks young enough to bear children; a wife presses on/notices her husband’s firm chest
Other: evil fantasy creatures and humanoid beings are called “devils”; a character is reincarnated; a character is called a monster; a character is cursed; magic/magical objects; a gambling house for devils
The mystery thickens, why does our Erden think he is ugly? Why can't he know the truth? What kind of curse is placed upon him? I hope we find out sooner than later. I do love how Letitia and Erden were reunited (after many many years) and I loved her reactions when she figured out what is underneath the mask (and see them throughout the story). Letitia is also such a fun character and I love her drive and will to make things right and to help out Erden and the world she is in. Creating fantastic plans, figuring out things, making friends with a dragon, and ordering her favourite thing when she discovers where all the items from her world came in (to be fair, I would have done the same, just with Doritos). Oh, and then there is the ending, oh that is so clever! The art is fun and pretty! Onwards we go to the next volume!

We finally see her see Erden's actual face and honestly he's more cute than hot, but I guess his body type definitely has the physic of a Shonen protagonist lol I also like how there is more introduction on how her capitalism might win her this war between the devils. I can't wait to see how the otherworldly restaurant will help with it. Also I love Leticia just confidently speaking with no game plan till later. Also the dragon acting more like a cat is so cute, definitely gives me Toothless vibes (doesn't help that the dragon has black scales too)

I admit I picked up the series because of the title. BUT I love it! There is a little age gap between the leading main characters but most of the time they are separated.
The premise of the title is that the leading male, Erden, doesn’t realize he’s “hot” but his wife Letitia clearly sees he is. When Erden looks at his reflection he sees himself as a monster.
"—Siempre me he escondido detrás de esa máscara, temiendo lo que los otros puedan pesar de mí. Pero Leticia vio estos horrendos forúnculos, mi piel descascarada, mi nariz plana, todo... Y aun así me mostró su sonrisa. Me gusta cuando sonríe así. Y también quiero ver su sonrisa por un largo, largo tiempo."
I laughed so much reading this volume. We shall be a terrifying yet adorable power couple, start an economic war with a demon casino by opening a pub, and defeat the forces of evil with capitalism. It's also got Dragons, true love, curses, and battles. This is so silly. I love it. Good thing I did a silly thing and bought the entire series.
This definitely improved on the backstory heavy first volume. And features 100% more cute dragon and a constantly heart-eyed smitten hero who is not shy about expressing how amazing he thinks his wife is.
I like how this story is progressing, and how Letitia gained a companion in a juvenile dragon. I love that this dragon is supposably similar to the cat she helped in her previous life. I am very excited to read the next installment.
I enjoyed this second volume. I do look forward to volume 3. However, I did not appreciate the reference of my religion, as it pertained to mocking Jesus. Thus why the book got a 2 star rating.
Auch die Fortsetzung hat mir super gefallen und es tauchen immer mehr Intrigen und Verwicklungen auf. Einfach nur spannend mit einer Prise Humor und einen sehr schönen Zeichenstil. ;)
It’s so funny and cute — I truly enjoyed reading every bit of it. The story had me smiling the whole time, and the characters were absolutely adorable.
Letitia and Erden have been separated for seven years while Erden was on an epic quest to find The Book of Secrets for her, leaving Letitia to become the Second Master of Halstead Castle. As time runs out on their protective relic that has kept Halstead Castle safe for seven years, an army of demons prepares to descend on the castle. Letitia must use all of her book learning she has gained these years to outsmart them and hold out for Erden’s triumphant return. Once they are reunited, they must now learn how to behave as a married couple even as Erden wants to set Letitia free from his horrid appearance and the curse of being his wife. Letitia, for her part, continues to try to prove her worthy to the Halstead house and convince Erden to stay married to her.
In volume two, this series starts to step away from some of the other series in the same vein and becomes its own storyline. We find out pieces of why Erden thinks he’s ugly, but the mystery grows more intriguing. Letitia’s wit is on full display in this volume, and I love every moment of Erden being supportive and impressed by his wife. The supporting characters are all amazing, including the three grannies of Halstead castle and my favorite, Letitia’s dragon, that she swoops away from Erden. The dragon behaves more like a cat than anything else, which means fans of cat manga will feel right at home.
