Time is running out, and Dardan's latest attack has left Heli and his brothers all severely injured and without any way to heal. To make matters worse, one of Dardan's henchmen has abducted Khan, delivering to him the final piece needed in order to complete his unholy ritual...Now, all there is to do is wait. As the night of the full moon descends upon them, the boys must urgently make their way to the Blood Altar--or risk losing Sooha forever.
I remembered to breathe when reading this volume, but my stomach feels like it's in knots because how many times are these boys going to be at death's door?! 😭😭😭😭
This volume wasn't quite as intense as the previous volume, BUT! This was so much scarier and hopeless! I genuinely didn't know if the boys would make it because while they had a triumphant win early on, the injuries they suffered were extremely grave and I didn't know how they could recover from it. In fact, I STILL don't know what's going to happen because it's still very much looking bleak, but the ending gave me hope that something is going to happen, and I hope it's for the good!
One of my favorite parts of this volume though is that we FINALLY have our vampires and werewolves working together! Obviously, the boys have TRIED working with the werewolves, but they haven't really had much success. This volume was the turning point and I LOVED it! There was a lot more blood on the pages, but seeing all of them united had me cheering in the midst of heartache!
I will even mention that while it was not a focus, I deeply appreciated the short time we had with Khan and seeing his struggle through this POV! That was heartbreakingly wonderful because I loved getting to know him better, even if emotionally it hurt to read.
The next volume I'm pretty sure is the final due to the preview mentioning "final battle" and I am ready and not ready! I'm ready to see Dardan get taken down for good, but I'm terrified as to exactly what is going on with the boys and if they will make it.
Compared to the first five volumes this one felt very rushed. In regards to the first fight scene, I think it should have lasted longer and been harder for the boys to get out of without Sooha’s help just gimmicking them out of what could have been a much more intense and challenging situation. Then they just rushed around fighting some more random vampires and it felt kinda scattered and like the author hadn’t really planned on how to get the boys to the Blood Altar, so just threw random stuff at them until they randomly ended up there.
Time and distance between places has always been a problem in this series and it normally doesn’t matter, but it was glaringly obvious here as they were just seemingly wandering around in the forest then poof found the place? Very strange, and I hope this is something the anime can explain and improve upon, same with the beginning fights. A little coherency isn’t too much to ask for, right?
Speaking of improving on things…look, I love the romance in this series TO DEATH, Sooha and Heli are so cute and clearly are meant for each other, HOWEVER Heli’s love confession sounded like something straight out of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and several of the lines made me cringe as they were just so…hormonal teenager. Just, ugh, whhyyy?! But the visuals with this confession? STUNNING, so moving and romantic, all round death defying swoon. And some of what he said was too just not…most of it, lol.
And Dardan must die. I don’t care how horribly, he just needs to go, the sooner the better! This piece of scum has littered these pages for far too long and needs to be taken down ASAP!
Also Jakah looks fabulous on the cover; he’s my next fave boy after Heli, I love him! And despite my problems with the fights I also love how intense and dynamic they are, the storyline too as I finished this in one night I couldn’t put it down!
Despite my hang ups and nitpicks of this volume I still love this series and am eagerly looking forward to the final volume!

Other: vampires and werewolves; supernatural powers; reincarnation; dead bloody vampire bodies (PG-13/R); a wolf god; people are gagged/kidnapped/imprisoned; a bad guy uses a ritual to try to steal magical powers from another
Every time I gain the slightest distance from this manhwa--even while reading it--it suffers somewhat. It's basically reverse-harem Sailor Moon with vamps and werewolves, less appealing art, and much more overt violence and blood. Over 1000 pages in, the fight scenes are still confusing and I can't tell half the guys apart... especially when their beautiful hair is flying around, which happens a lot. (see: the cover.) We've had basically one long fight scene over at least the last couple volumes, the guys getting knocked down and standing back up again and again. Fierce grimaces and "agggh" sound effects in abundance.
At least Sooha had the opportunity to get in some grimaces of her own, and showed some resistance to Dardan's evil schemes rather than lying around helplessly, like she has for the last few hundred pages.
One more volume of this will be enough, I think. Decent fun, but nothing extraordinary.
The volume with the most fight scenes we love to see itttt. Bonus points for Jakah on the cover. And the art for this one??? Amazing, every frame is so detailed and so cool.
The battles against their opposite powers would be so cool if it was expanded upon more. I feel like Noa's blindness and the others' wounds from their respective battles would have been a cool thing to stretch out over a longer period of time. Instead they heal fairly quickly once Sooha does her thing.
And Heli's confession is sweet but awkward. The visuals of it all though??? Top tier.
I finished this volume in one go! Just as emotional and heartbreaking as the first read😭 I still think Heli's confession to Sooha is a little awkward...like...I know he's a teenage boy but please can you tell her you like her in a less hormonal way😭 Other than that the book was FLAWLESS. Oh how I love this story and these characters, and how I wish I didn't have to see it end for the second time. One more volume to go!
6. noa quedándose ciego me duele mucho 😭

I think the fight scenes are hard to follow. The characters look to much a like and the panels are little dark to see fully what is happening. But I think the next volume is the last and I’m excited to see how this ends.
