Releasing Elinor from the spell book was only the beginning for Jade.
When a surprise visit from Lorenzo sets off a downward spiral of events, Jade’s ripped from the confines of Edge’s home and plunged into the madness of the Triad.
Confused by the turn of events, Jade is only sure of four things:
My name is Jade Kinsley. I’m 20 years old. I’m an Enforcer for the Triad. And I have a debt to settle with Original Coven.
Will Jade be able to break through the spell her Grandfather put on her and remember who she is, or will she become just another piece in Lorenzo’s game?

Wow! Sonya Loveday does it again! this book was amazing! I love how she twisted the characters all around and you didn't know what was going to happen next! Sonya Loveday is a truly gifted and brilliant author who knows what her audience is looking for and brings magic to everyone who reads her stories.

I was so freaking excited about this book that when the author asked me if I would like to beta read it, I almost fell out my chair! The ending of the first book in this series was just insane and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next! I delved into this book as soon as I got it and I have to admit that the author took it in a completely different direction to what I was expecting! As soon as I started reading it went in a different direction lol! I did really enjoy it though! The plot was just amazing, but I do have to admit that I got confused at times! I'm not sure if I was reading it too fast though because I tend to do that lol! The plot also had plenty of twist and turns in it to keep things interesting and there was plenty of action too! I also loved how it progressed and that the author added so much to it! The plot was also again very original too, which is something I love about this series! I love that it's different and it has a unique concept that I haven't read before! That's definitely a reason why I picked it up to start with! The plot was also executed brilliantly! The characters were again amazing! Jade was again the main female character and for a bit of this book she wasn't the same Jade we met in the first book! Something happened and it made her lose her memories, so she believed that she was on the right side, but it was actually the wrong side! I did feel sorry for Jade because she was just so overwhelmed in this book and she was sort of pulled left, right and centre! She didn't know whether she was coming or going! Jade was pretty epic in this book though! She was just so determined and she was willing to do anything to protect the ones she loved! I admired that so much about her! I also loved her attitude in this book! Edge was again the love interest of Jade and he was even more lost than Jade in this book lol! Like Jade he had had his memories altered and he forgot everything! He spent a good portion of the book like this! It was so sweet watching his love for Jade come back though! Edge was pretty kick-ass in this book too, which was awesome! I just loved him and I could see just how far he would go to protect Jade! I also loved that some new characters were introduced in this book and I loved that characters from the first book were back in this book! They all added so much to the plot! I'm not sure if there's going to be another book in this series, but I don't think there is going to be! Everything was sort of summed up and all the questions from the first book and questions asked in this book were all answered! Plus, the ending showed how far, not only Jade, but all the characters had come! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what this author releases next though! The cover for this book is absolutely stunning! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and it suits the first book's cover perfectly! Big thank you to Sonya for letting me beta read Spelled and for having me on her Blog Tour!
★★★★★Amazon|Goodreads Meg's Review: Oh Gosh. This book. Sonya has outdone herself. I wasn't sure I would get the closure I so badly wanted. but she managed it in a wonderful. I got more than I could have imagined with this exciting and exhilarating journey.
These are characters that stay with you. This story is one that you invest in. You hold your breath through certain chapters hoping that the outcome is as you desire.
In this installment of the series Jade is where she least expects. Deep into the life of an enforcer. Her memory has been stolen and she is living a life of lies.
Lorenzo is doing all he can to get what he wants.
So is Elinor.
Jade remembers nothing, but that doesn't stop what she can feel. We all know the attraction that Jade and Edge felt in Casted. We aren't let down with Spelled. I could never get enough of these two. Their love is consuming. I was crossing my fingers that they could fight this the whole book.
Jade and Edge are just the two mixed in the middle of this war, and most of all, more then anything, they just want their life. They want to Live and Love.
Throw in some interesting developments and a few things you didn't see coming and this story has you on your toes. As I said Sonya has outdone herself. This story is masterfully written and I found it very easy to navigate through. I re-read book one shortly before this was released so I was on my toes and ready for it.
Jump back into the world that grabs your heart and holds it hostage. A realm filled with magic and truest forms of love. Highly Recommend from this Novel Grounder. Synopsis: Releasing Elinor from the spell book was only the beginning for Jade.

This is a paranormal, magical, fantasy book. The second book in the Casted series, to completely understand this story it is best to read the first book. I do recommend this book to anyone whom loves a great book with a lot of magical twists and turns. I really enjoyed the way Jade gets up every time she is knocked down. She does anything to protect her friends-family. I was captivated from the first page, could not stop till the last page. The ending was bitter sweet. A must read.
This is the story or should I say escapades of Jade Kinsley, her story picks up where Casted leaves off. Twenty year old Jade has been through more than most people could even imagine. She thought she would find some relief from the commotion in her head when she released Elinor, but so far it was the beginning. Her life has so many unexplained factors how does she manage to stay sane? When her grandfather Lorenzo rips her away from Edges home, puts a magical spell on her, she is thrown into some insane situations, will she be able to recover her own memories? Or will she be his new pawn in the triad.
favorite passages:
"Never allow your dreams to be overshadowed by the fear of what others think." "There was no relief, no finality to the misery a heart feels when lost." <3 "Edge stared at me, and I watched him as he mentally peeled back all my layers." "Happiness bubbled through me. I couldn't help but feel I'd come home." "I couldn't help the grin that stretched across my face." "I flipped him off in reply." "He was poetry in motion; pivot, swing, repeat; like a solitary dance with rhythm that came from the soul." "When he turned on his heel and walked away without saying anything, my heart went right along with him." "Deal. But I wasn't kidding about ripping your lips off." "She was, and always be, a balm to my soul." "They have a term for people like you." "Well, maybe not a perfect gentlemen, but I'll kinda behave." "I had to mentally smack myself for feeling slighted that I hadn't got a good look at him." "Your lass might be tiny, but she has the heart of a warrior." "Yeah, well, I'm not used to seeing spiders the size of Volkswagens." "There wasn't a part of me that Edge didn't touch, taste or scorch." "It's been a long time Jade, and if I've learned one thing about life, it's that no matter what, there's always going to be something we'll never have the power to change." <3 "If I had to say what moment made it the most real for me, it would be a man falling to his knees as his daughter launched herself into his arms."
Spelled is the sequel to Casted (and you all know how much I LOVE Casted!!) I am indeed a VERY lucky girl in so many ways, one of them being a beta reader for Sonya – which means I got to read this very, very, VERY early!!! *evil grin* I was nervous about reading Spelled, because when Casted was that good – how could she make a sequel that would live up to the emotional wreck from the first one? Never fear my friends. Although Spelled isn’t the same emotional rollercoaster as Casted, it is absolutely PACKED with secrets, revelations, mayhem, magic and mystery. Spelled takes off right where Casted ended and you drop straight into the story, it feels like you’ve never been gone. Elinor might be out of Jades head, but she isn’t done with her yet. But she has to get in line, because Jade’s grandfather has a bigger beef to hatch out, and he has set his sights not only on Jade but his stepson; Edge as well. The lines are drawn, the battle is gearing up, but not everything is as it seems, and the tables are being turned on Jade and her friends more than once. Will Jade find the solution before it’s too late? Spelled takes the story of Jade, Edge and their fight against the Triad several steps further, and I was drawn into the story. So much is happening in Spelled, Jade loses her memory due to a spell casted by her grandfather. But she isn’t the only one affected. Edge got the direct hit as well, and he fared worse than Jade. Both of them are locked tight up in the compound, and Jade has to trust herself and her only ally to get all of them safely out again. Unfortunately, things just don’t work out the way they’re supposed to do, and when the rules changes, so does the game. I truly don’t want to spoil it to anyone. I can guarantee that not only will your questions from Casted be answered, but you will certainly get a whole new bunch of them along the way. I love a good puzzle. Sonya creates a story like no other. She gave me everything I wanted, and more. Spelled isn’t as fast paced and doesn’t give you the same emotional overdose that Casted did, but gosh, what an amazing book. If you have read Casted and loved it, you’re in for a good ride. Didn’t read Casted? What are you waiting for? *Jeez, seriously, you’re SO behind!!*
It's no secret that I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, and I could not wait to get my hands on Spelled. I just couldn't wait to find out what the end of Casted meant for some of the most amazing characters I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Spelled was a thrilling continuation of Casted. Loveday once again drew me in to the twisted web of lies and manipulation that the Triad, or more accurately, Lorenzo is so famous for. He definitely took things up a notch and his sinister ways just got darker and darker. My heart went out to Jade and Edge. They'd been through so much in the first book and Lorenzo swooped in a took it all away from them. I had hope, though, that they'd find their way back to each other.
I was happy that Jade had Elliot as her confidant. He was brilliant. His personality really came alive in this book. Together, he and Jade were a riot. Their banter and bickering made for many a fun moment, and Oh. My. Gosh. when they sought refuge at the cabin in the woods...Hilarious! I was crying with laughter. I probably wouldn't have found it so funny if I were in Jade's shoes, but it was a thoroughly entertaining scene that lifted the seriousness of everything else that was going on. The Skunk/Spider moment is a part of this book that will always be remembered. Even now as I write this, I can't help but smiling thinking of the antics that went on.
Loveday has worked her magic once again to create a story filled with plenty of emotion. This book was a rollercoaster of ups and downs, twists and turns. There was never a dull moment. I'm a huge fan of this series and its wonderful characters; and I am an even bigger fan of Sonya Loveday. A real gem of an author whose writing will keep you captive from start to finish.
What a great sequel to the first book!! This book was even better than the first! And what major plot twists added to the fun. This one has just as much awesomeness as the first and more!! I will now try to tell you as much as I can without too many spoilers!
Well, jade’s in trouble. She was captured by Lorenzo and she’s lost her memories, and she’s in the Triad compound. Holy crapizoly! And now she’s doesn’t know why the people she’s with she feels distinctly unsafe and when she meets the enemies she wants to hug them!! And when she does get her memories back, she learns some truly sad things. This girl is so brave, she is wonderful! And she may just run out of time, or maybe she’ll get her HEA! :)
The old characters return to help Jade, but you’ll also meet some wonderful new ones that will surprise you, along with some new romantic twists, some horrible chases, losses on both sides, and a completely new outlook as to what the future can hold. Oh, and one seriously HEA that literally had me in the happiest tears of all! Just know that you won’t have to hold your breath at the end of this one. It’s completely wrapped up but I seriously hope the author will give me more!
Ms Loveday has proven to be a wonderful writer. She puts words together and the feelings you get are brilliant. I’m a huge fan now! And I do really hope that more of this series will come in the future! There’s so much more that could be done, or I just want more!! It’s a wonderful series, with a new outlook on witches and magic, and fantastic writing to go! I LOVED IT!! 5 MAGICAL WINDBLOWN PAWS!!
This was a great duet series. A lot of the character flaws that I found a little annoying in book one turned into amazing ways for the characters to grow and develop in this book. Jade especially was forced to make some very difficult decisions that really cemented her place as a ruler and over-all well-rounded adult spell caster. Her female friends still remained a little confusing to me, I never did get them all set as separate people in the first book, and as they didn't have as large a part in the second I found it more difficult to remember who was who. I don't want to say their parts didn't matter, because their friendship and loyalty really come into play, but mixing them up on occasion didn't take a whole lot away from the story for me.
The story opened in a very confusing manner. Jade's memories have been wiped and she is in Lorenzo's stronghold. He seems to need something more from her and has a very twisted plot to try and get it. We meet a few more allies hidden in the evil that I really enjoyed. There was a lot of excitement in this story as well that really kept the pages turning and hard to put down. The ending was very surprising with a twist I never saw coming (but did explain a character that I didn't get). It seems like most of the loose ends are tied up in a very nice manner and I felt extremely satisfied with how the author wrapped everything up.
Spelled picks up right where Casted left off. You jump right back into the action and the pace never seems to slow down. There are more twists and turns with every chapter. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about the ending, it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but after thinking about it for a few days I think I’ve come around to liking it. As a longtime reader of Sonya Loveday’s books it was fun to read some of her early work and be able to see where she started and how she has honed her skill.
Sonya has done it again. I loved the first book Casted, with its magic, emotion, twists and turns. Spelled is all of that plus more!! I love Jade and Edge together and we get to see just a glimpse of that before magic twists and turns things. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down. I enjoyed Jades interactions with Leif, the banter was pretty great. Even though Jades memories have taken a vacation her instincts are still on target. I loved being able to hear her internal dialog when things don't feel right or when a flash of her "real" memory happens. It makes you feel as if you are right there with her. I absolutely love Edge. Hello, book boyfriend. Will Jade break the spell on her and Edge? Can she save them? Where is Leif's book? All these questions and more are answered in this spellbinding story.....
Spelled is the second book in the Casted series and it carries on from where the first book left off but things soon change when Jade has her memory wiped and now she thinks that she is an Enforcer for the Traid. She bumps in to Edge who has also had his memory wiped so there is no recollection of each other.
Will Jade and Edge get their memories back and remember they are the good guys and not members of the Triad? will they get the book Lorenzo is hiding that is Leif bound too? or will the curse Elinor made kill Lorenzo and Jade at the same time.
This book kept me hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. We meet new characters and they fit in well with the story we also learn more secrets and of course it is full of magic.
I am a very avid reader and go through a lot of books. Very rarely do I find a book that I want to read so much that I put the rest of my life on hold for it. Spelled was one of those books for me. From the time that I got it and started to read it until it was done, I did not want to do anything but read. Sonya Loveday has created characters that you believe in and you want to go live in their world too. I laughed, got upset, angry and cried. Every emotion that was available I felt throughout this book. I would highly recommend the Casted series to anyone who loves to read, no matter what genre you enjoy.
These books couldn't have gotten any better- it's packed with action, romance, thrills, unexpected twists, and an exceptional group of characters. Storyline is perfect, and you'd never guess how it ends!!! Wish there was more to read from this author- in love with her writing! You know you found a diamond when events get rough in the book and you get the sick feeling in your gut, or something daring is about to happen and you're on an adrenalin high just from reading!! I think I just started my own rating system... Diamond is obviously the top. Doesn't get better than this folks! :)
Jade awakens to find shes been captured by the Triad. Her grandfather has his evil doctor do a spell that makes her forget that she's not from her coven by with him. But also, he has captured Edge and has done the same to him. She gets her memory back, but has to try and rescue Edge, Leif and Leif's book. If you loved Casted, you are going to love this book more!! Lots of surprises and a GREAT ending!!!
This second book in the Casted set is very good -- witches (good and bad), spells, spell books, good and evil, romance, travel, more modern technology, and everything that comes in a good read -- including edge of your seat mystery and action. A few unexpected surprises. Thoroughly enjoyed this light read from my heavy reading.
OMG, I could not believe what an amazing read that this is. Wow. I could not put it down. I loved "Casted" when I read it, "Spelled" is even better. This is, a must read. I want to say so much, but I know if I do, I will ruin it for everyone else by giving away spoilers.
The story is amazing, the characters are awesome and this book has got to be on your must read list for 2014.
This set of books was so good to read. They were sweet with excitement threw in. Along with some great action. These books don't give you time to get bored. It's like fast action. Never giving you a chance to break cause you don't want the book to end. So if you want a paranormal book that has you trying to guess what happens next read this set of books.
I just loved this book! The beginning threw me for a loop, what a great job of writing. I even laughed out loud at a certain (stinky part) it was the best scene ever ! Great book about witches , couldn't put it down , the only downside I wish there was more!!
Loved it. It gets a 93% I didn't buy the way Lorenzo was killed, at all. He was not a powerful witch at all, just an enforcer. Not enough went into how DYLAN pulled it off. I took off 7 for that...
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Loved each book and really hope that there are more. But I don't think there are. Great character development, plot, with the timeless theme of good versus evil. You learn that sometimes people things must be done in the name of good
I highly recommend you read the first book in the series first. It is titled Casted. The story was full of magic from beginning to end! I loved it!!!! Especially the ending!
I liked the book, I really did until the last three chapters. Isn't it anticlimatic that Lorenzo died just like that and a new villain just came out of a blue-so very unconnected to the struggles that jade & her gang had to endured (& with only a couple of chapters towards the ending). It's like he died so Jade wouldn't have to face the struggle/moral of killing her own grandfather. And then everything happened so fast after that I thought the author has set a limit to the chapters that the book should have that everything must be condensed and resolved on those last chapters or else....? Convenient, not in a god way. And was it explained how Leif did not die when Lorenzo died? because it was implicated very strongly that he should have? I lost interest once Dylan revealed himself because I wasn't given enough time to hate the new villain properly. Hence, the two stars.
