The Hyper-Grace Gospel: A Response to Michael Brown and Those Opposed to the Modern Grace Message

Rate this book
God’s love for you is greater than you know. It extends beyond what you can conceive or imagine. Just as you cannot measure the universe, you cannot fathom the limits of His love for you.

Grace is how God’s love appears. God’s grace is extreme, super-abundant, and over-the-top. His hyper-grace exceeds your wildest dreams.

In this book, Paul Ellis draws a line between the muddled messages of manmade religion and the hyper-grace gospel of Jesus Christ.

Drawing on insights gleaned from more than 40 grace preachers, he addresses common misperceptions and accusations some have made against the modern grace message.

The Hyper-Grace Gospel will leave you marveling at the relentless love of your Father. It will show you how to walk in His amazing grace and help you rediscover the joy that is found in Jesus.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book by Paul Ellis, ‘The Hyper-Grace Gospel’. It made clear the grace message and very respectfully answered many of the comments and claims made in a book by Michael Brown.

This book did a great job of explaining grace and how God freely made it available to everyone. Paul showed how grace and works are two separate covenants and not meant to be a combination in the way we live.

In the first part of the book, many points are given that make clear what grace, or hyper grace, is and is not. After Christ rose from the dead, a new covenant began. A covenant of grace and love, not rule keeping and law.

The second part of the book goes over many arguments made in the book by Michael Brown, explaining clearly some of the misunderstandings and arguments made against hyper grace.

I found this book to be very interesting and enlightening. It explained some questions I had, and encouraged me in regard to many thoughts I have had in regard to grace and the some of the common teachings of organized religion. I highly recommend reading this book. By doing so, you can easily understand the grace message and the difference of trying to live by both grace and works.

The accusation against hyper-grace gospel has been tremendous even from the time of Jesus. Dr. Paul Ellis's new book will help us to recognize the real good news of Christ from unauthentic one. In these days that many messages are surfacing about the gospel of grace, this book will point you to Jesus-the personified grace of God.

In this book Paul answers every accusation and misunderstanding against hyper-grace gospel with a intent of clarification among people. Paul's gracious response to Dr. Brown and those who opposed hyper-grace gospel will help us to determine the real good news of Christ.

This book is for everyone who wants to truly experience the grace and unconditional love of our heavenly Father.

You can read this book over and over again!

You'll love how Paul Ellis explained what is hyper-grace gospel means. It's hyper because it's active, it is excessive, it is alive! It is JESUS. This is a good book that brings good news where you can see how good God is. See how God's love, forgiveness, and grace overwhelm you and you won't find an exact word to explain it. These will never lead you to produce a licentious lifestyle. Grace has been never a license to sin.

Packed full of bible references as well as quotes from trusted pastors, this book provides a respectful and very thorough explanation about what hyper grace is and is not. I highly recommend this to everyone!

Paul wonderfully pointed the issues on mixed-grace beliefs in this book. This book is actually a response not only for Dr Brown’s book but to all Mixed –grace believers who are confused with the true gospel. This is also the best book for people who tasted the good news and are having issues to walk in grace.

I gave this five stars for one reason. Paul Ellis, with humility and grace, accurately and articulately, goes head to head with Michael Brown's recent book on Hyper Grace. . I have read both and Paul Ellis gives a wonderful account of God's grace in Christ which the world truly needs to free us from the condemnation and guilt of religion. I read this fast. Took lots of notes. Loved it.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. Ellis' chart in the book on "hyper-grace" versus "mixed-grace" is super insightful and I literally copied it into my journal to study more. For example, do I believe I am saved by grace, but kept by works? Or saved by grace and kept by grace? It's a nuance worth thinking through and living by.

As this book is a response to Michael Brown (who I also respect, if not totally agree with on everything), there is a little bit of...maybe not sarcasm, but close. So, that is a bit bothersome--I'd rather just hear the arguments laid out clearly.

Overall, I think this is a book not for any random person to read b/c they want a spiritual book to read. I think if you are thinking on, discussing and studying grace, it's important. But only pick it up if you are ready to really think through what you believe and how you live what you believe.

I wish more people would read this book than the book it refutes! If you want works-based religion, condemnation, and threats of punishment, read Michael Brown's Hyper-Grace. But if you want the gift of grace we can't earn (Eph. 2:8-9), no condemnation (Rom. 8:1), and no fear in love (1 John 4:18), read Paul Ellis's The Hyper-Grace Gospel.

It's simply the difference between the Law vs. Grace; the Old Covenant vs. the New; trying to be righteous without Jesus Christ vs. resting in the righteousness He has freely given us.

Paul Ellis provides a clearly written, gracious, and respectful summary of the gospel of grace, without resorting to criticism and sarcasm like the author of the book he is refuting.

For some odd reason some fellow Christians are troubled by the extravagance of God's love and grace to us and have felt a need to distinguish " hyper grace" from "real grace". In so doing they have put limits and boundaries on the love of God, in essence saying that God could not possibly love as deeply and freely as described in the scriptures. Paul Ellis' book Hyper Grace Gospel does a really good job of trying to quell those fears by breaking down the limits and boundaries place on God's love by mere humans.

The term hyper grace is, in fact, redundant. Grace, by definition, is beyond hyper.

What a clear massage Mr. Ellis wrote in this book
I just knew twelve myths about hyper grace, which each was proven wrong
I think this is recommended for those who wonders about hyper grace and mix - grace message

This book is written in response to Dr. Brown's book 'Exposing the dangers of modern grace message'. And I do think he made a gracious and clear comment related to that book

Paul Ellis is a fantastic communicator. Through Hyper Grace Gospel book. He adressed the twisted truth in Michael Brown's book. I love the way he really represented grace with love and respect. Totally an enjoyable book to read.
