The heroine:Nim - After traveling with her parents to a friends mansion for their college reunion, Nim gets lost in the nearby woods and sees something she shouldn’t. The three young men involved, scare her into staying silent.
The Hero(es):Knox, Mason & Silas - They are known as the Serpents of Cinderhart Academy. They rule the school and nobody will cross them, especially not a girl who shouldn’t even be attending the prestigious and secretive school.
The story: Nim’s life gets crazy after the trip and she has more to contend with than what she saw that day. She is working at a club called Purgatory (see “Heaven” by Darcy Rose and “Hell” by J.L. Beck & C. Halllman), when she gets word that she got into college with full tuition paid at Cinderhart Academy, the school her parents attended when they met.
The Serpents have secrets and murder is just one of them. They all find themselves attracted to Nim but they are determined to make her life miserable. This is an extremely dark new adult bully romance and there are a lot of triggers in this book which many won’t like. I generally like dark books but there were a few scenes in this book that I found disturbing. Though despite that all, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
This book is awful. The FMC is treated like an actual dog throughout. She is beaten, abused, and raped. There is verbal and emotional abuse to the point of no return. These guys are not redeemable. 3 men that easily can overpower this girl without physical violence still deem it necessary to hit her in the face. To snap her kneck to the side and leave a mark. Force her to perform s*x acts to humiliate and shame her. They rob her of her dignity, pride, and her sense of safety. A good bully book offers a modicum of trust between characters. Even if it's just a sliver it's still there. This book has zero trust. Zero respect. In fact, it has zero of pretty much everything except brutal rape and abuse. There is no content to their characters and the plot completely lacks any romance or sensuality. Sometimes I'll read reviews from people that get upset about too much smut in books and I'll giggle about it and download the book to see what the fuss is. This isn't one of those times. I was disgusted with the 3 "love" interests and felt sorry for the victim they terrorize and forcibly rape. Just because a person's body has a reaction to stimulation doesn't mean that behavior is welcomed or appreciated. This book isn't dark. I love dark romance. This book is something else. It's that feeling you get when a creepy guy is leering at you and telling you to smile. It's seedy and just plain wrong. The guys dont know the FMC at all and she doesnt know them back. She just knows they are awful and the guys know the FMC has a "curvy little body" and likes to fight back. That's it...there is no substance to their connection whatsoever. Needless to say, I did not like this book.
Nim Winters has had a hard life with all that she has been through, of which includes being tormented by three savage boys after witnessing them commit murder. Something she tries to forget as time goes by. However it’s easier said than done, when on her first day of college at Cinderhart Academy she comes first to face with the killers Knox, Mason Bennett and Silas Miller aka 'The Serpents' who run the academy. And have now made it their mission in bringing Nim to her knees. But with Nim having nothing to lose, what’s the worse that can happen?
The way Logan Fox wroteSerpents,it led you on a dark, mysterious journey full of so many twists and turns. Like being stuck in a labyrinth with no way out. Considering how with every question asked, more questions continued to pop out, with Logan giving you the run around in not receiving any answers. Although it was honestly frustrating, at the same time it was what drew me in and kept me going. Plus there was the fact that I couldn’t allow myself to stop reading, since I was laying in hopeful wait for some sort of answers. Whether big or small, to try and crack the case surrounding the secrets that continued on accumulating within this enigmatic maze that was the bookSerpents. There was just something about the whole mystery surrounding not only Cinderhart Academy and the town. But the people within it, especially 'The Serpents'. Even with being given glimpses into Knox, Mason and Silas’s lives, they were still an enigma particularly when it came to their attachment and strange behaviour towards Nim. It was obvious there was more to what they said or did than meets the eye. Colour me intrigued, but I definitely needed more. Mostly because I wanted all the questions answered.
AlthoughSerpentsby Logan Fox is apart of theBlack Heart Romance presents Heaven & Hellseries. It should be said, it's mostly set in a whole other world. The fact that it's a start ofSerpents of Cinderhart Academyseries. Which is why I was at a loss of words when I read the book, since the story was not at all what I expected. As for whether I mean that in a good way, I am still not quite so sure. It was just a little confusing to me because for some strange reason in the beginning I actually thought I was reading a PNR (Paranormal) Reverse Harem. And since the story was apart of theHeaven & Hellseries, I guess I expected the narrative to be set in the world surrounding Club Purgatory a little more than what it actually was, while still being different. Considering the previous books had Club Purgatory being a central point to their narratives. However whileSerpentsdid share similar elements found in theHeaven & Hellseries with the story being dark, depraved and twisted. Resulting in deviant mind games leading to Non-Con scenes. Nonetheless, it still did take me awhile to not only get use to the story. But actually immerse myself within the narrative, to acknowledge and absorb the information being told and given to understand just what I was reading.
But with that said, I did still enjoy the bookSerpents. With the overall narrative surprising me. As a first time reader of Logan Fox, she managed to win me over by the end. Which is why I say, I can’t wait to see what happens inSavages, the next book within theSerpents of Cinderhart Academyseries in regards to Nim, Knox, Silas and Mason. Considering the cliffhanger ending that left me reeling.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 4 in the Black Heart Romance presents Heaven & Hell Series and book one in the Serpents of Cinderhart Academy trilogy. You do not have to read the previous books to understand this story. The only thing tying them together is the club Purgatory; each book has mentioned an employee or encounter from the club.
Have to say I’m highly intrigued and wondering where this story will lead us. Cinderhart is a secluded town run by an elite secret society. Steeped in tradition, class systems, and secrets the town is an antiquated yet modern society.
The book opens with our heroine Nim Winters visiting Cinderhart for the first time. Her parents are going back for their 20 year college reunion. Bored and needing to stretch her legs, Nim wonders into the woods and stumbles upon a scene she should have never witnesses.
Scared for her life, she tries to run and is caught and branded by the three men she interrupted committing heinous acts. Little does she know these same three men will soon become her biggest nightmare and greatest addiction, all wrapped into one.
Knox, Mason, and Silas are thick a thieves. Coming from seemingly different backgrounds, the three are bonded through life moments. They’ve enjoyed sharing in the past but never have they experienced an infatuation and mutual longing like they do with Nim. Watching her body being owned by each other only further spurs them on.
When tragedy strikes Nim’s life she begins to learn not everything was right with her parents. There are many things they sheltered her from and now she’s on her own and being thrown to the wolves. Attending Cinderhart University wasn’t something Nim wanted, yet she begrudgingly accepts the scholarship she’s awarded. For full room, board, and tuition isn't something a broke and near homeless person turns down.
Don’t expect light and fluffy from this one. It’s a dark reverse harem for a reason: 🔥 murder and maiming 🔥 bullying & taunting with degradation 🔥 noncon and dubcon 🔥 semi-public coercive sexcapades 🔥 mystery and suspense 🔥 cliffhanger ending
And while I did enjoy the book overall, I was mildly perturbed with the way the talking points of modern day society were interspersed throughout the story. I read as an escape from the real world. I do not appreciate authors regurgitation what’s forced on us on social media, the news, tv, and movies in our books too.
Normally when I find out that a book is part of a series, I will go to the first book and start there. However these books State on them that they are standalone, with no cliffhangers. So I figured it'd be okay to read them out of order.
After reading this book I can tell you that no. It is not a standalone. There is a massive cliffhanger. I just don't know what book comes next.
Which means I have to backtrack to the beginning and start there.
This pisses me off. Why call it a standalone if there is obviously a different story to it. Or continuation. Or a cliffhanger that they claimed didn't exist?
Those reasons above, alone, are usually enough to make me stop reading the series. If you're going to say that it's a standalone, make sure that it actually is a standalone.
I'm angry because I wasted that time. I don't understand the story because there were too many loose ends. We still don't know who her sponsor is. We still don't know why her family was acting all shady when they brought her to this town. We still don't know what their obsession with those girl is other than the fact that she witnessed a murder. I mean come on.
all through the story they hint to separate problems. Problems with each of the guys. Problems with Knox' darkness. Problems with the town.
So many loose ends. So many unanswered questions. So much blah.
If you were thinking about reading this book, out of order, don't.
I don't know if the other stories link to this book, however I know that there's a continuation. I know there's a cliffhanger. And I know there's a bunch of secrets and twists and whole bunch of garbage going on that nobody explains.
No one tells us why Lorenzo was murdered. No one tells us who sponsored this girl into school and why that person chose all of those insane classes for her to take.
I'm going to give this book three stars. It could have had four, even five, however the blatant lie about it being a standalone threw me off. And the fact that we have no answers whatsoever through the entire book on why Mason is sick, why Knox is psychotic, what silas's problem is. And who the hell sponsored this girl!
Seriously though, this book just stressed me out. It could have been a pretty cool story. If they had just wrapped it up a little. So no I do not give a credit for being a standalone, there is a massive cliffhanger, and there are no answers whatsoever throughout the entire book.
If this truly was a standalone, I would never recommend it. Because of aforementioned reasons.
And now because of those three stars I am tricked into going back to the beginning and reading all of the books. And I don't like that. I'm going to do it because my OCD claims it. And I'm invested in her story.

It's never a good idea to get lost in the woods... you never know what you'll end up seeing. She wants to never see the three again. Ever!
Nim Winters, along with her parents travel to Cinderhart, the town where the academy is where her parent's both attended. They go to a reunion, but something happens and Nim's life gets turned upside down. Not only is she dealing with what went down in that forest, but she is also dealing with the drastic change to everything she has known. She wants to never set foot in this cursed town again.
Gets worse though. Come to find out she is back in said town and attending Cinderhart Academy with the help of an anonymous doner. She can't believe her luck. This place is in the boonies, prestigious as all heck and there are so many secrets floating through this place you could drown in them.
If her luck can't get any worse... she can't believe it. The 3 from the forest are here. They also attend this academy and they rule it too. Everyone bows to them - Knox, Mason and Silas. The Serpents. Not gonna lie these three are attractive, going places, but their hearts and minds are black. They are ruthless, savages and I really have no idea if there will be an redemption for them.
What they do to Nim to keep her quiet is not for the faint of heart. They will make her pay for ruining their plans any way they deem fit. On her knees, on the sand, in a courtyard on the grass- nothing is off limits. She is just one and they are 3. She tries, but is no match for them.
My dark heart is heading into book 2... hopeful that the three will make me like them. Even a little bit. Cause right now - I wanna throat punch them, repeatedly.
Serpents is a well written story with characters you either love or hate and moments of darkness that make you gasp. Logan Fox creates plots that draw the reader in and storylines that are captivating and relentless in their delivery. This dark, reverse Harem story is full of complex characters, dark and deprived urges, as well as bullying to the extreme. Heed the warnings ⚠️ I loved this story!
I don't think I can ever get enough of Dark High school RH romance. This book had that and so much more. I absolutely love this series of interconnected plotlines and can't have enough of them!
This one is a cliffhanger though, so keep that in mind. All the characters are perfect and I don't think it had too much bullying. I have read much darker books and I think this one was more of an enemy to lovers than a bully romance RH book. The ending was amazing and the cliffhanger has me wanting so much more.
Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people.
The opening chapter and the ending were very strong, delivering all the twisted M/M/M love interest/college bully goodness that I wanted when I read the blurb to Serpents. However, I drifted in and out for the middle of it. I wasn't too intrigued by the small town politics or how the university worked. The uniforms for the women threw me off, I kept imagining some sort of frilly Victorian blouse and pantaloon set up, I was skimming it by this point, and it was only the heroine's roommate that had me hanging on as I started to get distracted; their banter made me laugh because it was the only parts of this story that had some lightness to it.
As for the M/M/M love interest, I'm only here for Knox but I'm intrigued about Silas. Another subgenre that I've come around to is high school/college bully, and it's definitely because of Untouchable. As much as the characters aggravated me, I still ate it up because that opening chapter was just too good and now I need my next fix of another crazy football player like that! If you know of any, please recommend!
I was not going to read the next story but the ending scene really got me! I need to see what the boys end up doing next :D
Unexpectedly, I really enjoyed this. I've struggled with bully romance lately and RH is rarely a hit for me. But in this case both aspects worked for me. This has lots of triggres - murder, non con, dub con, humiliation etc so it's not for sensitive readers. But I was here for all of it! The setting threw me a bit and requires some suspension of disbelief - a private college with uniforms and some pretty archaic rules. Also, there isn't really romance yet. There's lots of steamy goodness but I actually enjoyed that it's taking time to get romantic. It's more believable on both sides. There's a mysterious subplot that is done well and doesn't take away from the main storyline. All in all, this one was a win for me and I can't wait for book 2!
What did I just read? Oh my love this, a dark bully romance that has more to give. I was set on just one book but damn this one will have a series of it's own so yes it ends in an cliffhanger. It is a very good start about Nim and the boys of serpents. Knox, Silas and Mason has rules of their own and they aren't afraid of using them to get what they want.
I truly believe, in the most visceral part of my soul, that there is no place for torture porn in this world. I don’t much care if anyone disagrees.
I am left questioning the anthropological, sociological, and psychological reasons for the existence of this market. I am no fool to not comprehend the nuances of kink or trauma-related engagement; in fact, I am intimately versed in them. It is from this comprehension that I express my critiques for this work and the many like it.
These works seek to paint the objectification, degradation, dehumanization, and violation of women as something titillating and sensual. Even categorizing the events of this work under the four labels listed above feels as though it is an under-exaggeration. This work contains some of the most truly horrifying depictions of sexual assault and dehumanization with no promise of any positive outcome. At every opportunity to allow for some sort of progression of the main character into a consenting member, some shift takes place that ensures only the vilest of happenings will be presented. It is as though the author does not wish for the character to enter any sort of willing state.
I feel it almost unnecessary to point out the dangerous implications of spreading this sort of message.
What’s more, it is almost laughable that the author expects the readers to genuinely assent that the main character will become a consenting member and fall in love with the male characters. With sexual assault at every turn for this character, how the author insists she begins to feel anything but the deepest loathing is beyond me. The most nonsensical of matters is how the murder they committed is even still a reason for the smallest remains of hatred, as though the violation and dehumanization of her very being is nothing more than a footnote.
Where it concerns kink, it is blatantly apparent how this would not conform. Consent, conversation, and collective understanding are all key parts in kink, especially as it applies to CNC. Where it concerns trauma-related engagement, I can assure you this does not provide the sought after effect. The continuous and unrelenting progression of the assaults does not provide the umbrella of safety that is sought for this reason.
There remains nothing more than those who have been deeply programmed by the patriarchy, by the “first world” societies that have told us to not just expect but appreciate these kinds of vile acts from men. While people sit here and read these novels, pretending in their mind that they are experiencing these violations for personal pleasure, real people are living it. I find it to be a disgusting display of privilege that these works and the market they provide for exists.
I can promise anyone who finds this type of work to be anything but a psychological horror, they are doing nothing but damaging your psyche, your relationships, and your ability to create them.
And, truly and honestly, if you are going to write such an unfathomably horrific novel, have the decency to ensure your main character isn’t a two-dimensional, walking cardboard cut-out of a person. That, and your male characters aren’t the most infuriatingly contradicting “morally grey villain”. Like, really, if you’re going to write a bad guy, don't be a coward and pretend they aren't. That, or accept that the entire work is a big joke with how much hypocrisy and, I am fully serious, homoeroticism these dudes express.
If Knox wanted to jerk his friends off, he didn’t need to subject Nim to sexual assault to do it.
In all seriousness, you can't have rape/torture porn and terrible writing in the same work. Pick a struggle.
Before I start - if you are a sensitive reader, please read the trigger warnings at the beginning of this book and tread carefully. Logan has me hooked - she has crafted the beginning of a dark (non-con, murder, physical assault, bullying and more) reverse harem that has me hooked. Seriously, I started and finished this in one day, I couldn’t put it down. Nim has been handed a crap-tastic stick in life when she (literally) stumbles upon Knox, Mason, and Silas while they are “handling business”. She gets a taste of their darkness at their impromptu meet and greet but when she ends up at the same university as them she learns the true psychotic with a dash of sociopathic tendencies these three have….along with their power. I found my jaw dropped at how far these young men go - because this is no romance. These guys go to extreme lengths to punish, humiliate and torture Nim when she decides to share their secret. Question is, will she survive them…better yet, will they survive her? Because I believe this young woman is smarter than everyone gives her credit for and I think I will see more of it in the next book. I found myself intrigued because there are more secrets to be played out and I know Logan is going to take me on one heck of a ride to find the truths. Who sponsored and paid for Nim’s tuition? What was her parents true past and what really happened to them? Why are Knox, Mason and Silas so powerful? I love how Logan pushes boundaries, she took this to a darker side I didn’t expect and did it in a way that kept me engrossed until the kidney punch of a cliffhanger. Her talent at writing dark and suspenseful tales that will have you glued to your kindle shines brightly with this one.
The Serpents of Cinderhart Academy Book 1 starts with a disclaimer:
"This book is for mature readers only as it contains scenes some may find triggering."
This book is a Dark Reverse Harem College Bully Romance. It is the darkest, most twisted, bully romance I've read to date. This story has murder, mystery, rape, bullying, and kidnapping. As twisted as it was, I could not put it down.
A group of 5 elite families founded and still run the coal mining town of Cinderhart. They even opened a college for their kids to attend so they wouldn't need to leave town. The founding families don't take kindly to those who choose to leave town.
Through a set of unfortunate circumstances, Nim Winters finds herself enrolled at Cinderhart Academy. All college expenses were paid for one year by unknown sponsors. Nim becomes the unfortunate target of the Serpents of Cinderhart Academy: Silas, Mason, and Knox. Nim's life/luck takes a turn for the worse.
This gripping story had me in a constant state of anxiety. I fully intend to read the next book, Savages.
Logan Fox delivers another gripping dark read! If you are new to her books, be prepared for books that will yank you into the pages, refusing to let you go until the end, where it will spit you out, reeling with what you've just read.
You really need to not have triggers (or be in the right headspace) to tackle this one. There is a lot of non-con scenes, danger, anxiety, mystery...needless to say I only put it down for quick breaks, as I could hardly tear myself away from it.
Be prepared for feelings...for me, it was anger and rage. 😂 But in my case - I love it when an author makes me feel...whether those emotions are positive or not.
What in the world did I just read. I love dark bully romances especially of the RH variety but this was something else, I'm not entirely sure how I feel after finishing.
Nim sees something she shouldn't have while in the woods and for that the three guys threaten her in to keeping silent or they'll come for her.
Mason, Silas and Knox are in NO WAY considered hero's in this book they are seriously crazy psychotic. The bullying against Nim is hella intense and the things they put her through made me feel a little uncomfortable at times. I need book 2 in the Cinderhart Academy series, I want to see Nim hand the guys their a@$es in any way shape or form.
I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary. This Rh bully was so good I couldn't put it down. God these boys are ruthless and definitely know how to push boundaries and limits and have no shame. Knox, mason and Silas are force not to mess with with. Nim is strong but not strong enough to survive the serpents not a chance. I need more!
Plot: 3/5 • Smut: 1/5 ———-> Started off good. Nim witnesses a murder by three guys. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her life falls apart and she’s shipped off to the same university where the three guys go. Only solution to that? Torture her until she leaves.
This got so boring midway. It was a forced finish. I was rolling my eyes through some of this. Lots of rapey vibes and situations. Idk if Logan is a pen name or if this was written by a man, but I just couldn’t enjoy this.
Smut was all forced play. Not even coercion, but force.
Serpents is TORTURE!!! What in the ever lovin helll. True to book description it's Dark and an inescapable torture of a read that quickly grabbed my attention and assault every nerve ending keeping my heart pounding my eyes bugged out and feeling the sizzling heat until the mouth hanging open cliffy ending. A Cruel Twisted Dark Phenomenal story that continued to leave me breathless and frantic for every suspense filled page.
The first chapter dragged you into this world and didn’t let you go until the final sentence. Even then, I’m still hooked on this story.
Is this the most original storyline? Probably not. But it’s entertaining, it’s well written and it has you wanting to know more. You can feel the tension between the female main character and the men, there is no redemption present in this book. Lots of non-con but it’s written really well, just mind your triggers when reading this book. Not the darkest but it is on the darker side.
We are just starting to get to know the characters in this book but the “cute” little town isn’t so cute. This is what has me hooked. There is a lot being hidden, pieces of the past that people want to keep in the dark. However, I don’t think these secrets will stay a secret for very long and I hope it’s an explosive reveal.
If you like a darker storyline with a lot of tension, mystery and steam, this is perfect for you.
Blimey i dont know where to start with this book? You know that when you pick up a Ms Fox book that its going to be a dark read and Serpents is exactly that. So be warned some of the content might not be for everyone. Well i dont mind a bit of the dark side so this was right up my street
Serpents is full of so many plot twists that it just made my head spin but in a completely good way. Murder, bullying and an insular school where people turn a blind eye to the activities of The Serpents. Three Alpha**** Knox, Mason and Silas who seem to rule the school and Nim is right in the middle of it all.
Ive literally just finished reading it and my mind is still trying to process everything in it. I might have to read it again before that happens. Oh boy this book certainly keeps you on your toes especially with that ending. Its a cracking read and i cant wait for the next book now
This was another deliciously dark and exciting read by Logan Fox. I was hooked from the first page to the very last. I will warn you it’s a dark read and may not appeal to everyone. However, I loved every single bit of it. Nim finds herself in in the wrong place and at the wrong time, and her life is never the same again. I just really adored Nim’s character and I found myself loving Knox, Mason and Silas (The Serpents of the Cinderhart Academy), even though they were deranged and devious guys. This book has everything and will definitely keep you on your toes. It’s filled with complex characters, danger, bullying, mystery, intrigue, and plenty of steam. A definite must read. Highly recommend.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
I tried to forget about them, but they never forgot about me. The first day I arrive in Cinderhart, my innocent stroll through the woods is interrupted by a gruesome murder. I see everything, including the savage boys who commit the crime. Then they see me. I run but they catch me, torture me, and vow to kill me if I breathe a word about what I saw. Now their evil smirks torment my every waking moment. The feel of their hands constantly ghost over my skin. And their devilish eyes haunt my dreams. I'm desperate to move on, to stop living in fear. I force myself to forget about hem, and our dark secret. It works for a while. Until I see them again. Knox, Mason, Silas. The Serpents of CInderhart Academy. They stalk the halls of my new school, untouchable overlords. They're worshipped like divine beings, yet everyone fears their wrath. I'm trapped inside Cinderhart Academy's walls with them. At their mercy. But I'm not the same girl they tormented in the woods. I have nothing left to lose. If they keep forcing me into their twisted games, I'm going to play to win.
This book has trigger warning in the beginning of the book and if you are someone who has triggers when reading you will want to heed them. I will also warn you that once you start this dark heart pounding book you will not want to lay it down and I didn't I was so hooked on this story. Oh and did I mention this is a reverse harem book. This is the story of Nim who has never had the best life possible. She has been dealt some crappy cards in life. But one night she accidently turns up in the wrong place at the wrong time and is the witness murder committed by Knox, Mason and Silas. But she has enough sense to get the heck out of there but they all catch her and threaten her. Now she is about to run into them again at the University and she's about to learn just to psychotic these sociopathic guys really are. They hold all the power at the school and all the students their worship them. I have read some books who have some really bad guys in them before but these three really take the cake and I think my heart was in my throat a lot of the time. These two have the torture and humiliate Nim game going on strong and she just might not survive them. You guys this book is dark and gritty and had me on the edge of my seat. I loved every single second of it and couldn't put it down. There are so many secrets yet to come and I can't wait to find out what they are. And I am also a firm believer that Nim is a smarter girl than she lets on she is and I know one day she is going to show those three exactly who she is.
Nim parents was invited to their 20th reunion at Cinderhart Academy by their Vicky Peregrine. Nim was unhappy about the trip so she got out the and decided to walk through the forest. While Nim was coming from Vicky house on the day of the reunion through the forest. She saw pup name Boomer wondering through the forest she decided to call the owner when she heard a gun shot. Boomer took off and she began chasing him. But she wondered off the path to Vicky's home. It was there that she witnessed three masked man murdering a man. She was riveted to her position like Boomer until she was discovered. As it turns out the three guys was The Serpents of Cinderhart Academy Knox, Sila, and Mason and the victim was Lorenzo the towns evident animal killer. The Serpents wheels alot of power in at Cinderhart Academy and in town they elitist first and second generation rich kids. They violate her and put the fear of God in her in the forest and took her driver's license. They then tells her that they know where she lives if she tells anyone what she saw after leaving her with a little remainder by craving a S. Nim was so shaking that by the encounter she needed a shower. She wanted to tell her parents but ever time she brings it up she was cut off so she decided to tell them later. Nim parents never made it back because the car went over the cliff so she just went back home and stayed with her friend. Nim found that her parents was hiding a lot of things from her because all their credit cards were maxed out and they were behind on all their bill. They left her with a mountain of debt and her waitress job at Purgatory can not put a dent in them. Three Months after their death her lawyer call to inform her that she got in Cinderhart Academy with one year tuition paid and free room and board. It wood seems that she had an anonymous. benefactor someone who was pulling all the strings right down to her class and she can't figure who. The boys are baffled and are wondering if she's put in the school as a plant and vows to make her life a living hell. Serpents is dark, twisted, and degrading. It was unputdownable and grabs you from the first page with unexpected twists and turns and a cliffhanger that leaves you panting. The characters were well developed. These college are bullies are level with non con sexual scenes, reversed harem, debasing, and twisted mind games. Serpents is filled with drama, mystery and chalk load of secrets. Each characters are unique in their own ways I can't wait for the second book. I have so many unanswered questions.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
**Trigger warning - violence, sexual situations, bullying**
Nim, Silas, Knox and Mason. So we have a mystery here. Nim and her parents were visiting a friend and going to a reunion. Then tragedy strikes. But before all that Nim sees something she should not have seen. Then her parents are deflecting some answers. Like who the Harts were. They were hiding things from her. I want to know is what was their social status at Cinderhart. I mean they grew up there. Why did they move? So what is really going on. Then Nim gets sponsored to go to Cinderhart Academy. The guys she saw in the woods rule the school and they target her. Now, I was hoping that Nim had a back bone but alas she does not. I was a bit disappointed at the fact that she was not taking the opportunity to use what she was given at the school to advantage. I understand that she is still grieving but she complains about her situation instead of taken things in her hands. The guys are definitely not making it easy for her but she does try to be defiant but it is only spurts. I hope to see her grow a thicker skin so we will have to wait and see how things play out. We do get moments that are hot and she did enjoy but what is the end game for them all. What is really going on?
