"... what matters is that you have conviction and faith
in your decisions. That’s the hardest part of being a woman,
being determined. We women do struggle with that. You
know there is nothing more powerful than a determined
woman.”

The Night Bus

A short story about dreams (literal and metaphorical) and friendship, and madness, and the vagaries of fate. I bought the collection to read more.

This story demonstrates masterfully how perfectly sane and balanced people can suddenly topple over in an irrational world, trapped by their own mind. It is a bit unsettling to imagine yourself in this situation, but the story also reminds that it is the care of others that brings you back.
