After a psychopath tried to kill his friends, Josh Schuyler figured 'normal' was far off. The real problem: Josh's friends have all acquired supernatural abilities, while he's still the same average guy.
Josh has always believed he was destined for greatness, but he's been out of college for two years without a clue of his purpose. After watching his friends and siblings develop superhuman traits, he wonders if he might be meant for something grand, too. Can Josh even hope for an extraordinary event in his own future? And how long must he wait for this transformation - if there is one?
When Alex met the Schuylers, she was grateful for new friends to whisk her away from her lonely life in California and give her an escape from her divorced, bickering parents and aimless future. But Josh won't drop his defenses, and Alex isn't sure she wants to trade her old life for this new, uncertain one.
Nicodemus has an amazing ability he's been milking for years to get whatever or whomever he wants. Things are going great until a young woman - Alex - inadvertently busts his latest swindle. Nic is furious when he discovers his power has been disabled, and he vows to find her in order to wreak his vengeance. She will be punished. All he needs is a little help from his friend, Ethan Black.
Josh has been waiting for his big break, or for the chance to be a hero, or just the opportunity to stand out in his own, extraordinary way.
Will Josh discover his purpose in time to stop Nic?
Becca writes New Adult (college age) fiction that's typically Urban Fantasy but often ranges anywhere from Science Fiction to Thrillers. Her writing typically involves a bit of the fantastical with an emphasis on relationships. She is addicted to thinking up cool, super-human abilities and the tragic downsides that go along with them.
Becca Campbell has outdone herself with the fabulous Flawed Series and Outsider, Book II, just keeps me craving more. If you love to get lost in magical realism, where the characters tug at your heartstrings and you feel their pain, you will want these books on your reading list.
All his life, Josh felt like an Outsider.
Why were Josh’s family and friends empowered with supernatural abilities and not him? As many supernatural books as I have read, I think he is being saved for something special. Am I right? I shall have to read on to find out and so will you.
Alex came into his life. Her mom was too busy for her, her friends…out of sight, out of mind, so it’s time to make new ones. She’s not a plain Jane, she just doesn’t feel the need for makeup and likes her casual clothes. Alex gets along well with men and has few women friends. That makes it easy for me to relate to her, because I am the same way.
When Nic met Alex, it wasn’t what he anticipated and I love it. His power of captivation didn’t work this time. LOL When he poured water over his eyes, I laughed even louder.
Ah…young love and longing.
We have college teenagers, hanging out, some of them in a band, some of them with superpowers. It starts out with teenage angst and doesn’t take long for some action and danger to rear its ugly head..
Alex had no idea she had made an enemy and I see big trouble on the horizon.
OH MAN Becca! WTF are you doing? How could you? And, as if it wasn’t already bad enough…THE DOOR!
The blend of reality and fantasy, with engrossing characters who are growing and developing, becoming more complex as the story unfolds, ramps up to a white knuckle ending and I must have more.
First of all a huge hug and thanks to the author for giving me such a wonderful Christmas present because coincidentally or not, I was provided with an ARC copy of the book right around Christmas making it even more sweeter
Outsider is a terrific progression from empath, the first book in the series
To be honest, reading the synopsis, I thought that the book would be all whining and ramblings of a teenager stuck without power in a group filled with amazing supernatural powers including his own siblings, but in spite of the obvious frustrations poured here and there by the central character, the book actually has a good and strong plot which keeps it fun, fast and entertaining and far from somebody’s emotional outbursts. Though it is not devoid of that completely
Outsider to be frank kind of follows somewhat the same path adopted in the first book empath, but it is far better and progressed than the first. The second book has tremendously improved with a crisper and spicier plot. For me what was the plus point regarding the book was the return of a character that I had loved in the last book, Ethan. I had mentioned it in the last book as well as to how much intrigued I was with the character of Ethan and the author had done a brilliant work by bringing him back and in the manner that she has done it
I love the narration technique where she runs two lives parallel who meet at the end for a good climax. The language is simple, beautiful and liquid with the kind of smooth flow it has to it. Obviously the author has paved way for a sequel and has somewhat left us at a cliffhanger but it is not that bad to make you go crazy. I am so going to order the third book in the series as I see a crazier and meatier plot waiting for me.
For those who have read empath and have loved it, this book will surprise you with its quality. There is a trickier plot and an excellent language and narration that make this book a thousand times better than the first book. I love how the author has kept the link to the first book intact in the plot of her second book and something tells me that the third one has to be explosive.
I really enjoyed, Empath, the first book in this series, and Pulled, the shorter story about a side character, so I knew I’d enjoy Outsider.
Josh feels like an outsider. His friends and sibling have special abilities, but so far, he has none.
Hiding behind his shyness and low self-confidence, he just knows he’s meant to be special, but nothing has changed. Now out of college, he waits, hoping his ability will appear, hoping to be special like all the others.
Things do change when Alex moves in with his sister. He really likes her. Figures she has a special ability too. Now he really feels left out.
What does the future have in store for Josh? Will he ever gain a special ability? Will he ever get the girl? Will he ever be special?
I felt for Josh. I could see where his low self-esteem came from. It seems everyone around him has a special ability and he’s just plain old Josh. As the story develops and a very nasty villain sets his eye on Alex, he really came into his own. The author let him grow, mature, become self-confident and brave, even without any abilities.
And Alex was a pleasure to meet. She had some spunk, but missed her friends back home. Moving away from home was never a question, but she was unsure if she’d fit in with this new place and new friends.
There was a sweet romance brewing too. Josh was crushing on Alex. Alex was crushing on Josh. Neither knew how the other felt. Neither felt confident enough to act on it. Made from some tender and funny moments.
And the villain is truly despicable. Ethan can hypnotize with his eyes. He uses it to con people out of their money and possessions, with them never remembering him. How low is that?
A botched attempt on Alex leaves him furious and bent on revenge. He’s planning something terrible and getting closer.
While you could read this before reading the first book, I’d recommend you read Empath first so you would be familiar with the plot and characters. There are some old ones and new ones in this story.
The ending was heart pounding and very satisfying, but it wasn’t the end. There were questions to be answered and a lead on where the story was going next. I felt there were dangerous times ahead for these characters and will be waiting to see what happens.
All of Josh's friends and family have super powers, he feels less than perfect. When a psychopath tries to kill Josh's friends he wants to help in some way. Then he meets Alex, she is grateful for the new friends she has met, especially Josh.
Soon Nic, a young man with amazing abilities who is used to always getting what he wants has an encounter with Alex. But Alex gets in his way, and he loses his superpowers. He wants revenge against her for "disabling" him. With the help of his friend Ethan, they set out to find Alex and punish her , as he feels fit. Will Josh be able to "save the day"?
A page-turning thrilling read. Josh is very likable, he just wants to be like everyone else. Alex is likable as well, she wants to fit in , and have new friends. The plot is intense , with dramatic moments, suspense, thrills , friendship and amazing people with super powers. I highly recommend Outsider to all.
Thoughts: I am enjoying this series. I’m still hoping that something comes along to explain why it is that some people are born with powers while others get them after a somewhat traumatic event or accident. Plus, they are somehow secret, there’s nothing on news or even rumors around school. Granted if I had powers or witnessed someone who had them I wouldn’t talk about it either but I highly doubt that a group of people hasn’t all seen the same thing at one point, but I digress. The story is actually very good if you overlook that part. Great characters that are actually your normal every day people, they just happen to have special abilities. Well, Josh doesn’t but his siblings do, along with Chloe’s roommate, Alex, so he feels somewhat left out. His jealousy and self-pity almost push away the one person he hopes will become his girlfriend. I totally relate to Josh and his feelings of being left out. Not that his sister and Alex ever excluded him but Josh compared himself with everyone else and felt that he was lacking. Not the best way to look at things but hey, we all know it happens. Anyway, it was a really good story and the bad guy that got away in book one ends up becoming partners with the bad guy in this book and they don’t seem to get along very well so I look forward to the next book to see if a new bad guy shows up and joins the team or who kills who within the partnership. Crazy funny stuff actually, and I can’t wait to read more!
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
I had the chance to get an ARC copy of this book. What I like in general with Indie authors is that the next book is always better than the previous one, but I think with this one Becca Campbell really set the task really high for herself.
I already loved the previous book in the series, but Outsider was so much better.
I think it was a lot easier for me to relate with the main character, Josh. I already liked him from the previous novel and thought that he would have been a better match for Jade than Cam or Logan but it didn't turn that was as he was just a minor character. It was a really nice move to bring him to the front of the scene and to have the book mainly written in his point of view. Even when complaining, Josh didn't feel whiny at all which was a nice surprise. He still moves forward even with all the odds against him and even more when it turns really bad. The romance in the book was really realistic and flowed just perfectly. Alex is a very realistic character and I like how well she fits in the story.
The bad guy was also more defined and easier to understand than the previous one and it was good that all the fact ended up linked to each other.
Another good part about this book is that he felt really self standing so that I didn't have to try and remember what happened before.
I would heartily recommend this book, but I have to give a warning though: You might fall in love with a character.
The author provided a copy of the eBook in exchange for an honest review.
Outsider is Becca J. Campbell’s sequel to Empath. The author has once again written an original new adult/young adult paranormal novel. Outsider has many complicated layers and as the story cleverly unfolds the reader will be shocked by the many revelations—a new twist on good versus evil.
Campbell’s has woven two parallel stories. The vial Nicodemus is plotting vengeance. His controlling persona and Napoleon complex do not make him likeable in any way.
The Schuylers siblings were introduced in Empath. Chloe’s friend Alex is welcomed into their circle. There is a strong connection between Josh Schuyler and Alex. Of course, they do not recognize the signs of their attraction. Josh is struggling to become comfortable in his own skin. The Schuylers and Alex have strong, distinct voices, personalities and imaginative superpowers. Unlike Nicodemus they have integrity.
The journey is fast moving and a true page-turner. This well written novel does not disappoint. Outsider can be read as a stand alone but the series flows from one suspense filled adventure to another. Cliffhanger!!! Looking forward to the next book in the Flawed series.
All of Josh's Family and friends have Super Powers, He feels less than perfect. When a Psychopath tries to kill his Friends Josh wants to help them in some way- So when he meets Alex she is grateful to have met some new Friends especially Josh. Nic a young man with amazing abilities who is used to getting his way has an encounter with Alex. She gets in his way and he loses his super powers. He wants revenge for her disabling him. With his friend Ethan helping him they set out to find Alex in order to punish her. Will Josh be able to save Alex from Nic and Ethan?
I'm thoroughly enjoying Becca J. Campbell's Flawed Series. The plots are full of suspense and the way in which the characters are written so realistically is wonderful! I recommend these books to all ages and cannot wait for the third installment to be released. If you like books that keep you on your toes with a lot of relatable characters primed for action, then this is the series for you.
Following on from the excellent Empath (book 1 in the Flawed series), this follows the character Josh. Taking a bit of a back seat in the first novel, we are quickly introduced to him here in the first chapter, in a humorous episode where he first meets Alex - a new character. Josh differs from the others because he has no gift and feels 'outside' of the group and wonders if he will ever be noticed. What follows is another great story involving people with abilities that can be seen as a blessing - or a curse. It is the way that they use these gifts that really sets this series apart from other Urban Fantasy fiction. Throw into the mix a couple of very shady people, intent on causing pain and suffering, and you have the superb book 2 in the series. As with book 1, there are some violent episodes, some romantic episodes, and lots of surprises and humour thrown in for good measure. If you like feeling your characters as much as reading about them, this is the series for you. Bring on book 3...
Becca J. Campbell has delivered an original and refreshing blend of reality and fantasy at its best in 'Outsider', the 2nd book in the Flawed series. Highly emotional, with countless twists, it is an entertaining and supernatural storyline with good pacing and intriguing, relatable complex characters, good and not so good. These are young adults, who have different Talents. In other words, what can be termed as Special Abilities. The story relates their traits, growth and development seen as the tale progresses. The main protagonist features, Josh, and his attraction to Alex. 'Outsider', is a well thought out story, and along with the continuous growth of the characters makes it a very hard book for the reader to put down. Recommended! Gifted with a copy for an honest review.
My son (13) read and enjoyed the first book in this series. I would recommend reading Empath before this one, although you could start here - you'd just not have the background on the characters or the original plot thread. These opinions are my son's: Josh and Alex are well conceived characters with authentic personalities and reactions. Alex feels like a solid villain, the type you love to hate. The story is interesting with a peak towards the end that makes you want to pick up the next book. We received an ARC through the author in exchange for an honest opinion. This in no way influenced the opinion or swayed the review.
This is the second book in a series. I have not read the first book. About some young adults who possess a talent. One talent is empathy, others are deja vu, extra strength, magic eyes and speed- running. In some of these talents a important occurrence like kidnapping or accident causes the talents to start.
**Won an ecopy in a contest, the review is my own personal feelings on this book. It is no way bought, or influenced by the Author in any way**
After reading Empath (Flawed #1), I jumped at the chance to win a copy of The Outsider. I needed to read more of the story! And Becca Campbell sure didn't disappoint with the 2nd installment of the Flawed Series.
This story follows other charcters that were introduced in Empath. We read more about Josh, Cam and Choloe's brother. We also meet some new characters, Alexandria Hailey, Choloe's new roommate (who had an ability as well, she has super speed).
Josh, however, felt like an outsider his entire life...being the only Schuyler child not to have some sort of supernatural talent (at least in the beginning *wink*).
We also meet a new bad guy, Nicodemus Zachau (Nic), who has a special ability of his own. He can control people with his eyes, mesmerize them to do what he wants (usually to steal from them), and then they can't recall the encounter with him. He is ruthless, cunning and has a temper. He gets pissed at even the littlest thing, and he has no issues what so ever in killing the person that has pissed him off.
Nic overhears Alex and Josh talking one day, that Alex comes from wealth. So, Nic decides that she is his next mark. He goes to her and 'mesmerizes' her to try to get her to follow him, but Josh doesn't want to let Alex go, she has a weird look on her face and doesn't respond to him, when he asks if he knows the guy trying to pull her away. So Josh, forcefully gets Alex away from Nic..yes, that pisses him off. So he
makes a point to find out who she is and tries to find her again.
After seeing her at the movies with her friends, Nic walks up to her and gets her to give him her phone, he can get all the info he needs from that. And Alex doesn't remember, but Josh sees which direction Nic goes and goes after him. Alex does the same, she figures with her speed, she can catch up to him faster, which she does. She runs so fast around him that all he sees is a blur, she takes her phone back and then sprays him in the face with pepper spray.
I love the little bit of humor in this story, and I found this quite funny actually.. lol (He deserved it, trust me!!)
She followed Nic after he stole her phone to steal stuff and ran circles are him, then plucked her phone from him, called him a jerk and pepper sprayed him. Lol.
Excerpt: -- He ran into an alley, he swept his hands out looking for a bottle of water he noticed, he'd forget all the bacteria he might be putting on his eyes, but he needed relief. He search blindly and found the bottle, opened it and pour on his face, his eyes burned worse..it was coke not water.
After that encounter, his 'magic eyes' doesn't work anymore. The pepper spray must have done something to his ability. So...of course, he vows revenge. He plots, and he waits, until he can pay back the 'witch' that stole his ability. And the plot thickens when he meets up with our bad guy, Ethan Black. And then they kidnap Alex. He holds her for ransom for her rich daddy, but thats not enough, he wants
her to suffer, like she made him suffer.
Excerpt: --“An eye for an eye. A power for a power. You ruined mine. And now I’m ruining yours.”
The muzzle of the gun drifted, settling on her lower half. What did he...? Bang!
You have to get this book if you want to know what happens! :) It was a great thriller and I really enjoyed the new characters and all of the ones that I loved in Empath. I can't wait for the next installment!
A delightful read full of surprises! #paranormal #fantasy
4 Stars! Series: book 2: Flawed Characters: Josh and Alex Setting: modern day, Colorado and California Mature Themes: violence & murder
Recommendation: The light romance and modern day story line is enjoyable to read and satisfied my paranormal want and my YA want. I'm not sure it was meant to be YA and the villains made it a bit too dark in my opinion, but it was good none the less. Outsider, is a wonderful continuation of the story started in Empath and worthy of your time to read, just make sure you read Empath first or you'll miss some of the wonderful tidbits in Outsider.
Book two in the Flawed Series follows Josh, a friend to the first book's heroin Jade. Josh is surrounded by extraordinary people with newly acquired supernatural abilities and he's got a bad case of the normals. Things get even worse when he realizes his sister's new roommate is just his type with one big problem, she also has special abilities, so how can he possibly be enough for her. For the most part Josh is a pretty standard character, though he does tend to be a bit moody and sulky rather often.
Alex is a California rocker who needed a change of scenery. She decides to move to Colorado with the hopes that college will give her the fresh start she's been looking for, but for a girl with super speed that turns out to be more of a challenge than she initially expected.
The journey these two go on to discover themselves is true to life and relatable even with the supernatural threads woven in. The writing is clear, concise, and easy to read. Coming in at just over two-hundred pages makes this a wonderful afternoon read and easy to devour in one or two sittings. The story takes place in the same location as Empath, and because of that, the continuity between the characters and the timeline makes it easy to pick up directly after the first book.
My one complaint is for the pacing of the story. Josh's story seemed less urgent and more leisurely that Jade's and the climax was a pretty mild blip of excitement. However, the villain(s) in Outsider were just as creepy and interesting to read as in Empath, some of there scenes were probably the best in the book.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Flawed series, and it started out a little differently. Instead of one of the Schuyler siblings that have their own special powers, it’s about Josh, the one sibling who was completely normal and a little introverted compared to his brother and sister. It was interesting to see how the others were viewed through his lens of “normalcy,” especially when he’d always felt a little left out.
Once again we are taken through a villian’s perspective in each of the chapters, only this time he met the siblings and their friend Alex almost immediately, with disastrous consequences that also revealed that Alex had a power of her own. Josh was really feeling left out by this point and I felt really bad for him until he had what they should just call a “Schuyler Family Incident” and things completely turned upside down for him.
One thing that kind of bugged me about Outsider (that didn’t bug me in Empath) was how irritating Chloe became once we spent more time with her. She seemed completely oblivious to the emotions of everyone around her and always got her way. Whether this was just something we were seeing from Josh’s perspective remains to be seen, since her other brother Cam seemed to adore her and want to protect her all the time.
When Josh finally developed his power was when things got really exciting, and it wasn’t long after that the villain(s!) caught up with Alex in a very similar way to how Jade was trapped in Empath. It was more creepy and unsettling than in the first book, however, because there was more description of the violence. It would be easier to say that Outsider was more violent, but that would only be because Campbell went into greater detail.
The ending had me gasping in frustration again, and I can’t wait to see a couple of characters get what’s coming to them. I can only hope it’s in the next book, Protector, because I’m starting it tomorrow. What I’m going to do when I actually have to wait for the next book (providing there will be one) is beyond me.
I was given the ARC by the author for an honest review. Because of it being an ARC, I will not count into this review any of the editing errors that I did pick up. In fact, the story caught me up so firmly that I hardly noticed these oopsies.
About that story! Wow! Told from the viewpoints of the main character, Josh, and his female interest, Alex, and their nemesis, Nic who is out to kill Alex. I like that you can get into the heads of each of these people. Sure, one could guess at the insecurities young people have about starting a new relationship, but Ms. Becca Campbell (author) gives us deeper insights than those surface issues. Put into that mix suddenly awakening abilities and one can understand the deep confusion. And seeing what was motivating the bad guy was ingenious!
This series is so much fun! It keeps one on the edge of one's seat wondering what is going to happen? How will they get out of this one? Try to read this one so that the last half is long before bedtime. I was lucky that I was able to finish long before sleep. There are nightmare elements that I didn't want to have entering my subconscious. (Course the next book I picked up then was by Neil Gaiman, gulp!)
It had been a long time since I read the first of the Flawed series, Flawed. Even so I found a reread wasn't necessary. Enough review is set up in this book two that one wouldn't feel lost. In fact, one could read this without having read the first book. But the depth you would have from reading the series in order is unbeatable. I highly recommend reading this series if you are inclined to read fantasy books about new or young adults. This one was more contemporary than other fantasies. In that way, it is fun to visit Colorado and California as they are.
I received a copy from the author for an honest review. This is the second story in the Flawed Series.
It has been sometime since I read the first in the series of Campbell's books. I initially thought of rereading Empath, however did not. I wanted to see how easy the story and characters were to pick up. Consequently, I found it very straightforward, although I would recommend reading the bookies in order.
The story follows some of the other characters from book 1, Empath. We are introduced to Chloe's new roommate Alex, who also has an ability (super speed). Along with Alex the story's main character is Josh, Chloe's other, quieter and 'normal' brother - he has no powers, and feels quite left out!
The story progresses when Nic comes on the scene. He is a very angry and vile individual, who unfortunately, he has a super power of his own; the power of persuasion. Following an incident with Alex, he loses his power. He therefore seeks her for vegence! This is where I felt the story started to take off.
Sometime later in the story, 'no ability' Josh, ends up with an unusual power, following an incident saving Alex. He also has feelings for her and when Alex is finally caught by Nic, he is there for her. It is at this point we meet Ethan once more from Empath.
The characters were well thought out. Furthermore, the villains in particular were very well written. I enjoyed the storyline, however felt it was rather slow at times. Moreover, the trending was a little of an anti-climax. The story was fast paced and had me on the edge of my seat at the end.........and then......it was all over.
I would certainly recommend this story and series to fantasy readers. As it is a YA I found it an 'easy read', however have to agree with one reviewer the villains were a little brutal for a YA novel.
It's been a while since I read Empath, so it took me a little while to get up to speed with who people were but it didn't take long for me to get caught up.
I loved the relationship between Alex and Josh, the way they both slowly realised they had growing feelings for each other, yet their self esteem issues mean that neither of them acted on those feelings.
The villain of the story Nic, for the most part was a petulant child prone to throwing tantrums when he didn't get his own way or when he felt slighted by others. I cant say I particularly liked him, but then we're not supposed to.
This book kept me gripped, so much so that when I had to put this book down to sleep I actually dreamt about the story. Whilst the book has a resolution of sorts, the 'story' itself doesn't actually end with Outsider and instead continues through into the next book in the series Protector. Which I cant wait to sink my teeth into.
This was all about Josh and his attraction to Alex and I absolutely loved it.
Reading the first book and the novella that followed I wont lie I didnt pay much attention to Josh's character in either of them.
But in this book, he is rather amazing. This author shows how he isnt the most handsome or muscled out guy, he doesnt have special gifts like everyone else in this group. Because of that he is the outsider!
He's alone and unsure where he really fits in.
Meeting and getting to know Alex helps him find where he belongs and what hes ment to do with his life.
The ending is crazy and gut wrenching tear jerker for sure.
I just couldnt wait to start the next chapter in this series after reading this book.
This author is a truly amazingly magnificent writer. Her books are a must read for anybody!!!
Outsider is the second book of Becca Campbell's Flawed series. Where Jade was the main focus of the first book, Josh became the main focus of this book. I enjoyed gaining more understanding into Josh as well as watching him struggle wishing he could have "special powers" like his siblings and friends. I also found the character Alex entertaining and am glad she was brought into this series.
With the introduction of a new "bad guy" and weaving back in Ethan from the first book, I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering who was going to do what and to whom.
Once again I enjoyed this book for the most part with no real complaints and am anxious for the third book to be released to see what Ms. Campbell will bring us next.
Ethan now Nic very creepy. This series keeps getting better with every book and very suspenseful. Josh has been my favorite in this series so far with his quiet, shy nature. All he wants is to be special but what he doesn't realize is he is special just the way he is. Things change for him and he finally feels he has a purpose until he starts ousting those that he holds dear. Then when the unexpected happens and he is faced with cold hard reality he realizes all he wants is for his family and friends to be safe and happy. There is so much love and friendship in this whole series. Becca Campbell really pulled me in and hasn't let me go yet. I can't wait to read more in this series.
I received an ARC of this book. It is the second book in the Flawed series. Josh has always wanted to be special like his brother and sister. Instead he is normal. He is interested in Chloe's roommate, but she has an ability too. How can she be interested in somebody normal like him? Ethan is back from the first book. He teams up with Nic. Nic can make people do what he wants by looking them in the eyes. He tries it on Alex. Alex uses her running ability to get her phone back. When she sprays Nic with mace, he loses his ability. Nic is now out to get revenge.
This book is very well written. The ending makes you want to read the next book in the series!
Want a story with love, mystery, and strange powers? Outsider by Becca J. Campbell has all of these. A mile a minute exciting read, Outsider is an enticing read. Josh is a sensitive musician who's siblings and friends have different powers of de ja vue, speed and inability to feel pain but he has no powers. When Alexander, his sister's roommate is by a psychopath with magic eyes, Josh is injured and now has a power to protect and help save Alexis. I found this book so enthralling I had to read it in steps. I can't wait to to read the next book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a great book.
After reading Becca J. Campbell’s Empath, I couldn’t wait to read the next book in the Flawed Series. I just finished Outsider and I was not disappointed. The second book was just as intriguing as the first book of the series. Although I’m truly disgusted that Nic and Ethan haven’t met their doom and appear to be rewarded for being evil, I know that the next story will be just as intriguing. I can’t wait to see where Becca decides to take the next installment. I add Outsider to my growing list of must reads.
Loved this book and finished it in one sitting. I really liked Josh and could totally sympathize with him feeling like an outsider when everyone else has something you don't. I also enjoyed seeing the growing relationships among all the characters, although I got rather irritated with Chloe and how she talked to/treated Josh. I shuddered when Ethan came back into it. I can't wait for the next book.
I received a copy of this story from the author in exchange for a honest review.
This is book two in the Flawed series and it revolves around Josh Schuyler the quiet brother of Cam. During the story we get to see Josh become more vocal and stand up to protect the one(s) he loves. This book gives the readers a better look into the sibling dynamics of the Schuyler's while still relating it back to Jade and Logan from book one. Overall enjoyable read! (No spoilers from me)
I got this in exchange for an honest review, I like this author and was happy to read this book it was very interesting it is full of suspense action emotions and real these are very real and one can connect and relate to in a huge way they are filled with lessons and experiences that many of us have felt or will feel its great to see the results of their decisions I recommend this to everyone
Josh just wanted to have powers like his brother and sister, and Chloe's new roommate. After an attempted murder of Alex, Josh gets his wish. Now if he could only get the girl! Awesome book! A lot of suspense and intrigue. I can't wait until the next one.
