Lilith Vol. 1

Rate this book
Jennifer’s Body  and The Neon Demon meet Sweet Paprika in LILITH, a super sexy supernatural mystery splattered with a touch of Maeve Fly - where the devil wears more than just Prada.

So hot, she sizzles!

Lilith is an immortal who's been banished from her home, a dimensional plane suspiciously similar to mankind's idea of Hell. She's been posing as a model on Earth while secretly preying on humans... that is, until she runs into Penelope, a sweet bookstore owner with a tome that might hold the secret to returning Lilith to her dimension. If the mismatched pair doesn't end up falling in love first!

Along with her oversized, 3-eyed monster cat Gordy — who also possesses a huge appetite, eating up all of mommy’s leftovers — Lilith has a hell of a time trying to figure out fashion, friendship, family, and feelings on the long road to get back home. But home may not be the same as it used to be.

LILITH  collects the entire first volume, issues #1-#5, of Corin Howell’s devilishly delicious demon.

Watch out — she’ll chew you up!

In "Lilith" a sexy demon with an appetite for human flesh that she tries to limit to the truly deserving, with less than perfect results, poses as a Goth - Dark Beauty model while enduring banishment to the mortal realm. This book definitely covers territory that has already been well travelled by better known franchises such as "Vampirella" and "Purgatori" but it is mostly fresh and original. Readers who enjoy the occult themes and light horror along with the afore mentioned characters should definitely give this a read.

4.5 stars out of 5 rounded to 4.

A sapphic man eating demon, a dorky book store owner, and some truly spectacular art is genuinely all I need in life rn.

When I tell you I was there waiting for my comic shop to update their stock any morning a Lilith release was due I mean it. I was basically frothing at the mouth for each issue, and yes this comic is single handedly getting me through the trash fire that is 2025.

It’s gory and a tad fucked up in the best way, but also has some truly brilliant humour throughout. This is perfect for folk who love Jennifer’s Body, Yellowjackets, and Lost Girl.

It’s a slow burn sapphic romance filled with pining and a dash of jealousy. I can’t wait for volume 2 to drop.

Rep// Sapphic MC, Sapphic MC, Achillian SCs. Central romance is WLW/Sapphic (slow burn.)

TWs listed below, please skip if you don’t want vague spoilers.

TW// gore, murder, demons, bodies, cannibalism, blood, sexual harassment, nudity.

Beautiful artwork. Perfect color palette for the subject matter. Entertaining story with amusing and endearing characters. Includes some gore and nudity. Also has the beginnings of a cute sapphic subplot. I definitely want to pick up Volume 2 when it becomes available. I'm glad I have a physical copy of this one for the art.

Freaking delightful. A sapphic slow burn romance with a cast of characters I really adored (especially the mischievous and semi-untrustworthy Michael). The title character is from a Hell like dimension called Babylon exiled to our world and desperate to go home - until she meets the adorable bookstore owner Penelope and her little brother. Meanwhile, monsters are lurking. I hadso much fun with this one and anxiously await Part 2.

3.5 rounded down. As a first volume, it set the stage for a promising premise. Body horror and gore well drawn. Cinnamon roll meets and saves demon. Found family.

(Full disclosure: I received an e-ARC for review through Edelweiss. Content warning for violence, including sexual harassment and assault, and nudity.)

Lilith might have it good on earth - she's a fabulously wealthy super model who has no shortage of suitors (read: dinner) - and yet she wants nothing more than to return to her dimension. She was banished from Babylon by a fellow demon named Anniese, for as-of-yet undisclosed reasons. The only way to get home? Open a portal. Easier said than done.

So it's serendipity when a cute but "ditzy" girl "saves" Lilith from a would-be mugger (again, read: dinner) ... and takes her back to her bookshop, which just so happens to house a copy of The Book of Babylon. The only thing stopping Lilith from eating Penelope and her brother Benjamin is her complete inability to read her own language. Instead, a long con: feign interest in the supernatural so she can study the book alongside Penny. As she's hunted by fellow demons and otherworldly blob-creatures, Lilith is shocked to find that she might just be falling for Penny after all. Maybe earth isn't so bad after all?

LILITH is, above all else, a gorgeous book. The color palette is primarily shades of red and black, with a little of the boldest yellow sprinkled throughout, to great dramatic (and gothic) effect. Lilith is as sultry as Penny is adorable, and Gordy the demon cat def had me wishing for my own carnivorous, patriarchy-smashing helper. The only thing I didn't really care for is Michael, with his icky soul patch and weirdly Eugene Levy-esque eyebrows (sorry, but those caterpillars only look at home on the Levy men). However, there is maybe-hinted at setup that might redeem the character (fingers crossed). The narrative is almost equally entertaining, and the ending has me looking forward to volume 2.

Lilith is a demon who has found herself trapped in our world. She has not struggled with making a life her. In fact, she is a model for high-end couture. That doesn't mean she still doesn't want to get back to her home dimension from which she has been exiled.

She gets an opportunity when she meets Penelope, who runs a bookstore that was once owned by her grandmother with her brother Pennr. Their grandmother had an interest in ancient works and a particular interest in works of the occult. When Lilith recognizes one of the volumes in the stores as possibly being a key to getting home, Lilith may have to reconsider the fact that humans, particularly evil ones, could be more than just dinner.

This was really an interesting first volume for the series. There is a lot of action and humor. The cast of characters are interesting, and I look forward to seeing where future volumes take them. The illustrations are well drawn, blending superhero-styling with some manga influence. There is a great deal of gore and nudity so the audience certainly leans toward the adult.

3.5*

An immortal demon cast out of Babylon is living the life of a sexy goth model. Upon crossing paths with a nerdy bookstore owner who happens to be into the occult, Lilith befriends Penelope with hopes of learning from an ancient book how to get back home.

Another cast out demon wants in on the action as well. But other entities are out to stop them.

The color palette of black, white, and red really weighs great fit this book. It's sexy, cute, and silly at times, but with the gross and gore when demons fight and feed.

Looking forward to more of this series.

Volume 1 was interesting and I absolutely loved the art. We met the characters, who were fun, and established the story very well. I very much enjoyed the writing and the plot. My only "complaint" is that there were a lot of the same particular scene repeated over and over, which did match with the story but got a little boring. There is only so much you can do with the art of this particular thing either, so that didn't help. It's not anything super huge though, and I will definitely continue.

Lilith is a man eating demon who likes to play with her food. Such a slay, she meets a quirky book nerd named Penelope and her little brother, and there's bloody monster/body horror drama. I loved the art, the fast-paced story, to be fair, this is a very me-coded horror graphic novel/review and it was truly JUST SO MUCH FUN!!! I can't wait for volume 2.

A sexy demon is looking for a way back to her world. She comes across a brother and sister with a book that may be able to help her return. Along the way she needs to fight the demons sent after her. The art's very good and I really like the almost all red color palette.
