After a mission on Bayern earns Colonel Harry Frayn the displeasure of his superiors, he finds himself reassigned to the headquarters of the Imperial Intelligence Service. His critical job? Rubber stamping endless reports from an office deep within the basement.
But while you can take the agent out of the field, you can't take the field out of the agent. So when Frayn stumbles across intelligence hinting at a plot with galactic implications, he's forced to take matters into his own hands–even if it might be the last op he ever runs.

I never thought to wonder how the other half lived, and now that seems like an oversight. I really enjoyed this peek into the workings of the Illyrican side of the equation, as seen through the eyes of a character I was happy to revisit!
Sleeping Wolves is a brilliant little piece that shows us how Harry Frayn was sidelined by the Imperial Intelligence Service after the events of the Bayern Agenda. It gives a glimpse in how the IIS operates, as well as the ominous machinations going on behind the scenes that will definitely change the balance of power in the galaxy if they come to fruition.
I loved reading things from Harry's point of view. It also psyched me up a ton for The Armageddon Protocol, which I'll finally dive into right after I finish this review.
Slow moving story gives a deeper look at the Illyricans while also setting up a bigger punch at the end (in contrast to the pacing of the beginning). Makes me more eager to dive into the final book of the series!
