An arena so deadly only a handful of survivors exist across the span of untold millenniums? What’s that, you say? There’s a secret inside that could be the key to understanding Madra’s mysterious magic.
Bring. It. On!
Once more, Jiran dives headfirst into the pursuit of knowledge and power in a world stuck on hard mode. He’ll face beasts and challenges beyond his wildest nightmares, new races, and unexpected twists at every turn. Yet great danger is often accompanied by unimaginable opportunity, and if there's one thing Jiran’s good at, it's turning misfortune to his advantage. And this time, that advantage could very well change the empire forever.
Meanwhile, Mayalyn and Niya are racing toward threats far beyond their means. With his friends and family separated and vulnerable, Jiran will need every skill he's developed to have any chance of saving what matters most.
Unbeknownst to them all, ancient and catastrophic forces gather. Their goals are a mystery, and even their true names have been lost to the eons. With one wrong move, life as they know it could cease to exist.
But all is not lost. For Madra has never been keen on allowing her prized pets to stagnate. She’s got plans for Jiran, whether he likes it or not. Presented with a choice that will shape his future, Jiran will have only one chance to stack the deck in his favor. And if he’s clever enough, reforge the empire and his gathering allies into a power capable of standing against the coming storm.
Will Jiran’s new understanding of Madra’s magic give him the edge he needs, or will this be the last book in the series? Why wonder? Pick up book Rebirth of the Density God, and find out!
This book honestly failed to grab my attention and that's taking into account it starts in the middle of an action sequence. I got about 17% of the way through on Amazon Kindle and nothing grabs me. The main character is a copy paste LITRPG character that gets overly excited about their stats.
The magic system is actually really interesting. My only gripe with it is the author fails where many do and that’s on originality/creativity. Why does everyone just use fire/ lightning? There are a million elements out there, and the author can’t fathom using any others. My main issue and the reason for the small amount of stars is the harem aspect. It’s disgusting, why do all the women want to marry or have intercourse with the MC? They are all objectified and only useful to make the MC feel desired, it’s annoying and speaks to insecurity. If you can overlook the poor variability in magic usage and the obsession of swooning ladies the plot and general writing is great.
"Besides, standing around in an ancient testing facility isn't nearly as appealing as making it back to Mayalyn for that kiss." Just one of many unimaginably pathetic lines trying to kill you with second hand embarrassment. A human being, presumably, actually wrote that and thought "yes, print it".
It's rare to see a series fall off so incredibly hard after the first. The forced, unnecessary, unwanted, cringe romance that made up nearly the entirety of book 2 was a massive red flag and huge disappointment that ruined the book but I had hoped maybe things would get better in book 3. Sadly it was not meant to be.
Our MC is basically unrecognizable from who he was in book 1, shifting from intelligent and driven to basically a horny tween who's entire thought process is "girl pretty". It's like the author suddenly started puberty. It'd still be terrible but at least defensible if the MC has always been this way but he was completely different before. In book 1 he was the rare MC that was actually decently smart and behaved like a child that had the memories of a grown man who was in to science, research, and knowledge. Now I guess you could say he's acting his age but it destroyed the character. It's like imagining a 30 something data scientist acting like 13 year old that has never seen a woman before.
I supposed I didn't know this series was actually tween romance where everyone acts 5 years younger than they are. Twilight did that better. It's a shame because book 1 was great but everything after is just terrible. Wasted potential.
Like most books that start out as web novels, it doesn't move the plot very far along. This book takes place over a very short time period (a couple of weeks). The side plots get more convoluted in order to manage power creep, dues ex allows the MC to continue to grow despite the artificial limits placed on him. I always find it funny when progression level are all important for everyone except the MC.
All in all, I did enjoy the book and will continue reading the series. However, I will wait until the next couple of books are released to see if the main story has moved along.
Awesome series. I'm totally loving it. I've finished the last 3 books, and unfortunately, I've run out momentarily. Hopefully , the author is hard at it because I love his series, and I'm eager for more. The mc is still very op and yet no where near the top. Responsibilities keep getting more numerous and more onerous As is expected of somebody rising in power. I am looking forward to the next book with great anticipation and eagerness.
This series has no business being as good as it is. I picked up the first one expecting it to be a typical fantasy romp, but now I can't wait for the fourth book.
Has the same feel as Mother of Learning.
The art is a delightful way for the author to convey how they're imagining their world. Simple little portraits but I found them very effective.
What can I say besides that reading the series has been a pleasure? Every character is fantastic. I do hope the story continues. There is nothing like a charismatic leader who speaks the truth to make things epic. I hope we see more of the parties in their adventures ahead. Oh, how I look forward to the sentient Ants they’ve portalled to! 💕
A great story marred by obviously AI generated images. The author is skilled enough to construct detailed scenes and worldbuild through descriptions, they don’t need the crutch of poor AI. When the generated content doesn’t match the written character details it distracts from and lessens the story, it does not enhance it.
Series in a nutshell. Mc is genius, every fight sucks, every female character is a genius, the only male character other than the mc is around for comedy and physical abuse, aka idiot comedy.
Another fail for the people who recommended this, shit series, on /r/litrpg and /r/progressionfantasy.
Loved how OP the MC is. Despite that he still has to struggle and even gets his butt handed to him from time to time. Loved how much the story dives into the intricacies of mana, auras, and the soul. Also, I love the art! The depictions of the different tier Graymin were pretty cool.
ToraAKR strikes again. He did an excellent job and balancing out the various characters interest and development without sacrificing the quality of world building amongst other things.
This story was kind of a reverse of usual reborn on another magical planet because the kid wins the battle of souls and keeps the man from Earth memories. Fantastic read.
I love that this series keeps me thinking. So many ways of thinking about density. The knowledge of Earth's sciences is definitely helping here. The characters and their interactions have me in stitches at times.
Seriously in love with this series! Jiran is a beast and overpowered AF. I love it! I might just have to jump on Patreon to read more of the story haha.
It's awful, I can't even remember what the point of all this nonsense is about. It's all over the place and feels more like a rant than an actual story
The level of Simp-Pathetic feminism in these books is ridiculous. How can people be so unconfident and b-washed their whole lives? Besides that there's plenty of flaws and absurdities. I can barely stand to read these books. Only the first was decent.
This book gets four stars from me as it is a significant improvement over the second book in this series, but I wouldn't call it a confident four stars.
The second book was a rocky outing for this series, drastically stalling the forward momentum. That's a bigger problem than it sounds because this is far from a perfectly written series. Book one had plenty of flaws, but the story moves forward at a breakneck pace and delivers enough big-picture moments that you fly by those flaws without paying attention. After the train almost left the tracks in book 2, though, it's struggling to pick up the pace again, and we readers have much more time to focus on those flaws we have been ignoring to this point.
As a reminder, those flaws are a juvenile writing style, shallow character work, and an overly complex magic system that needs a lot more breathing room than it has been given. Speaking of that magic system, it expands even further in this book, and I have mixed feelings about that.
Despite my earlier comments, I am a fan of unique and creative magic systems, and there are definitely interesting aspects at play here. However, this magic system is not being naturally fed to the reader. The problem comes from the way the protagonist is introduced to this magic. He is kept ignorant of it until it is suddenly vital to the plot, then everything is thrown at him at once, and because of his magical genius (and a considerable amount of wish fulfilment), he has advanced-level breakthroughs before we, as readers, even understand the basics. It's all a bit too rushed, and the story is tripping over its own feet while trying to catch up.
Overall, I would call this book wobbly but enjoyable. It's almost like an athlete who tripped over a hurdle. It's back on its feet and running again, but it still hasn't quite shaken off the impact of the fall. But it is headed in the right direction, and if it keeps its head down and consistently delivers, it still might just win this race.
** Update - 11th September 2025 **
On a re-read of this series, I'm dropping this from a 4-star rating to a 3. I was a bit too generous in saying that it picked up from the damage the second book did to this series. The truth is, you have to do a lot of willful overlooking of the rocky elements of this story and force yourself to want to like what remains to get back into this book.
As someone who is a fan of stories about OP protagonists, this was something I was willing to do, but objectively speaking, it isn't worthy of a 4-star rating when your story requires this of you.
