A NEW VILLAIN JOINS THE FRAY! Black Panther's war of attrition against Moon Knight becomes more complicated as Wakanda's defense must become two-pronged! Plus, T'Challa discovers vibranium in his blood, bringing with it even more visions and more mystery…
Bryan Hill is a screenwriter, photographer, tv writer, and director. He is known for his work on the DC show TITANS and for his work in comics, most notably his outings on DETECTIVE COMICS, POSTAL, AMERICAN CARNAGE, KILLMONGER and ANGEL. His writing is infused with esoteric principles, which can also be found in his photography and music. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
Every issue of this series has been a build up and this is no expectation, however I have to say I’m quite enjoying it. In this T’Challa has finally had enough of Moon Knight and challenges him to a duel to the death, sounds pretty cool and I look forward to it in the issues that follows.
In this however it’s more focused on T’Challa exploring Africa, he’s finally realized that he’s left it unprotected for so long and his enemies have just claimed it as their own, he’s been solely focused on Wakanda for so long and now it’s effectively too late.
So in his anger, he decides to take things into his own hands and goes to explore Africa alone. The first thing he comes across is some thieves stealing medical supplies and he just goes ballistic, even the guys in the comic think he’s a raving nut.
I’m looking forward to the fight with Moon Knight but we have been building up to this moment for so long, I hope it’s a good conclusion. I also hope that after that happens the series doesn’t become directionless because that has been the only true focus on the series for so long now. There isn’t really a huge amount of character development or much else going on otherwise.
I'm expecting next issue to culminate into something truly exciting. Solid lead-up, I really liked T'Challa's choice to go outside Wakanda in this one.
Here's a fun bit. I accidentally skipped this issue and read the issue after this, and didn't even feel like I missed anything. Although this issue does add things emotionally.
Incredible issue of Ultimate Black Panther. The intrigue from this issue kept me at the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read the next action packed issue.
Being acceptable that each story takes its pace, this one is becoming exhausting, without sense of urgency. Unfortunately, it is losing excellent characters.
