Now, maybe I’m just starved for X-Men books without any Krakoa-stink on them, but I had an absolute blast reading this Exiles-in-all-but-name team of alternate Wolverines. Zombie Wolvie was hilarious and Lady Wolvie was totally kick-ass. Great stuff.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I wanted to give it 3.5 stars but definitely deserved a round up. It was good to see the different versions of Wolverine again, I must admit I think I missed Jane but the others I remember.

The original X-MEN are once again pulled into the future to save the multiverse from a threat of their future selves. However, some jobs call for hard choices. Who is the best there is when it comes to making those choices. One Wolverine is not enough. A team of five is called from across the multiverse. Always a loner can these Wolverines even get along? What good are claws metal or otherwise against an omaga threat to the mulitverse.

I am not a particular fan of the original X-MEN team, but even that part of the book was done well, I thought. I do like that the Wolverines were not actually brought in as attack dogs or assassins but for their strategy, resilience, and ability to make the hard choice nobody else would. The book finishes with a varient covers gallery.

The art on this was pretty solid, the story was cool. I liked these Wolverine variants a lot, especially the zombie one. I’d love to explore some of these universes more. A good read for sure.

A group of Wolverines from alternative dimensions are brought together by Phoenix in order to stop Onslaught. This is actually really cool, but the ending is a little too deus ex machina for me. Other than that, this is a good read.

Nice self-contained story. Plot felt like it was going from location to locations at some points, but I really loved exploring the the origins of the different variant Wolverines and I liked the use of Zombie Wolverine as comedic relief

A team of alternate world Wolverines? What's not to like. This was pretty fun. And more interesting than you might think. The interactions between the different Wolverines was particularly good. Didn't love the conclusion. But I enjoyed the story overall.

That was rough, from start to finish. Big X-Men fan and I should have know it was gonna be a letdown. The start was just another time bending mess with the Phoenix recruiting the young X-Men that were sent to the future but are back in there original past. Did I mention this is an alternate Phoenix who wants the X-Men to fight another phoenix, that is not their own phoenix.... yeah ok. So the job is to hunt down Onslaught, the magneto/phoenix who is destroying worlds.

This doesn't even matter because those young X-Men give up after one battle and Phoenix hires 4 wolverines from alterative timelines... OK so NOW the story starts... and its pretty bad. Aside from watching 4 wolverines it is just silly. Onslaught tricks everyone, and gets his way. But what is really dumb is he grows a heart? Yeah I don't even know. The writes gives you a few lines and I am supposed to forget he blew up 2 worlds.. sure OK. This X-men multiverse crap has to stop, please? It is off the rails and this book proves it.

How do you write an Exiles story without calling it an Exiles story? This REALLY should have been another Exiles miniseries. The last one Marvel gave us was in 2018 (the 3rd series with a Skottie Young inspired cartoon Wolverine that LOVED pies)

Since they've compromised the Exiles name and used it to describe Krakoan outcasts in recent comics, what better way to name a group of alternate universe misfits gathered for their unique...Canadianness(?)

Most of these Logan's we've seen before:
- Old Man Logan
- Marvel Zombies Logan
- Jane Howlett
- AoA Wolverine
- Earth X Wolverine

You could probably consider this a 'back door pilot' to an ongoing series with how the series ended. I wonder how a monthly would fair.

Well I liked this way more than I expected. It’s wildly cheesy at times but given how packed the Hickman X-Men events have been, this manages a similar scope without getting overly complicated by sticking to a cast of 5-6 characters and only swapping teams from the Original X-Men to the Weapon X-Men series. If you like any of the alternate universe Logans and/or you like any of the various Logan/Jeannie romances, this seems like a pretty decent ode to that. There’s something about this that feels almost like golden/silver age writing but with art that’s clearly contemporary in aesthetic with some flashes nodding to various styles throughout the eras of Marvel. Guess I should read some of the less flattering reviews to see why I should have not liked this so much (ha. Hahaha.).

Multi-versal stories are often an excuse for the writer to include characters they think are fun, regardless of whether it makes sense. In this case, a random hodgepodge of Wolverines, chosen because, well, "Gentlemen. Please. The Phoenix Force chose the five of you. It had its reasons, as ... mysterious as they may be." Yeah, uh huh, sure. Gage tells a fun story, lots of nice character bits, worth keeping on the shelf for a re-read in a few years when I've forgotten the details and am in the mood for something fun. This is a high three stars, very nearly a four.

Some goofy nonsense from the multiverse. I'm not convinced that this group of alt-Wolverines (including a zombie Wolverine, a fat Wolverine, Old Man Logan, and a female Wolverine, Jane) is really the best group to take on the challenge of fighting a new version of Onslaught, made up of the bad parts of Magneto and Jean Grey/Phoenix, but, what the heck. It was kind of fun, spending some time with these misfits and seeing some different worlds. The art is all right, though nothing too spectacular.

More of a 3.5 star read.

I really like Christos Gage. I wish he’d write more. He did a Superior Spider-man series a few years ago that was really good.

An alternate Jean Grey with the Phoenix Force gathers a group of variant Wolverines to fight a variant Onslaught across the multiverse. Lots of fun. Lots of Easter egg references. Really enjoyed this.

There's nothing wrong with this story. The art is pretty good and there are some fun twists and character choices along the way but it also didn't ever grab me and I wonder if Wolverine is just a strange choice for a story that has multiverse spanning consequences. At his core, Wolverine is a down and dirty character and this story just didn't fit him.

Several Wolverines team up with a Phoenix to fight Onslaught as he jumps from universe to universe. Basic premise, and basic story. Was an alright read.
Onslaught was one of my favorite stories when I was growing up and I can't wait to see him get a proper resurgence. While this is not exactly it, I did enjoy the read.

I love these kinds of stories. This is what, What If... the TV show could have continued to be if it hadn't ended. I would love to see this group team up again and maybe even expand their roster. Great story and beautiful art!

In pursuit of Onslaught, five Wolverines from across the multiverse to try and stop him with one of the incarnations of the Phoenix. Each Woverine has a special skill or reason why they are in the party. Many twists and turns. The zombie is amusing.

A fun little story. Not a lot going for the Original X Men issue.
I do hope Jane is used well after this. The others can all lay down and rest.

This was alright. A bunch of Wolverines from alternate timelines fight a version of Onslaught consisting of Magneto and Jean Grey. It's fine but I'm sick of alternate timeline stories that don't really matter.

Wow, I read this a 2nd time because I forgot all about this and found it at the library and read it again. On that note, it's going down to 2 stars.
