Who are we? Nobody really knows. We’re the seven most powerful heirs to empires, ruling Manhattan from our thrones on Park Avenue. By day, we’re the elite, untouchable, and more connected than you could ever imagine. By night, we revel in the darkness of our secrets, pulling strings that make the city bow to our whims.

Ruthless.

Dangerous.

We’re the Park Avenue Kings.

In this city of power and desire, where the line between love and obsession blurs, nothing is off-limits—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

***

He’s the shadow they send to make problems disappear.

Lachlan Stone thrives in the shadows, ruling his world of secrets and power with savage precision. As the most lethal of the Park Avenue Kings, he can’t afford the luxury of attachments. But when a mission takes an unexpected turn, he finds himself saving Cooper Patterson—a determined journalist who stumbles into a dangerous world far bigger than he ever imagined.

Cooper is everything Lachlan should avoid: relentless, curious, and far too tempting for his own good. Worse, his profession threatens to unravel everything Lachlan and his fellow Kings have built. Yet the pull between them is impossible to ignore, even as it sparks a firestorm of desire and danger.

With enemies closing in and the line between truth and lies growing thinner by the second, Lachlan must choose: protect his secrets, or risk it all for the man who sees the humanity in his darkness.

There are two things to keep in mind when reading this book. The first is that there is a lot of sex - and it fits within the narrative perfectly - and the second is that there's absolutely little resemblance to the real world!

So, prepare to suspend disbelief, go with the flow, and just enjoy this contemporary world with its secret billionaire group operating from New York and doing things that skirt the boundaries of more than one set of laws.

If you consider this in the vein of the Marvel Universe or other similar worlds where things are familiar to us as a reader, but work within the context of their own rules, you should find yourselves very much enjoying this introduction to the Park Avenue Kings just as I did.

Lachlan Stone is the enforcer of the Kings, the man responsible for security, and it's while following up a gang of drug dealers operating in their territory that his path first crosses with journalist Cooper Patterson.

Cooper's investigating the same gang, one of his best friends died after taking the new drug they've been peddling, and it's led him from the sleepy backwaters of Colorado to New York and a dodgy back alley, when a masked vigilante ends up rescuing him.

Now, while I found the Park Avenue Princes that this series springboards from problematic at times, I have to say the Kings don't give me any of the same issues. Aging the MCs into their 30s means less of the annoyance of college age kids with immense wealth and privilege getting away with things that would see others in prison.

These men have power and they're not afraid to use it, mainly for the purposes of good and for their secret society that's trying to influence people in better ways, but sometimes the line strays a touch close to the edge.

I loved that element in this book, this idea of a group of powerful people acting behind the scenes fascinates me and having been introduced to the rest of them in this book, I'm dying to know more of how they all ended up with Tyrone Kingston (who we met in Notorious Park Avenue Prince).

As I said earlier, this book is one of the hottest this pair of authors has written, and they've written quite a few steamy reads! Lachlan and Cooper have instant chemistry from the moment their paths cross and it just gets more intense.

The disparity in wealth and position doesn't make Cooper feel like a lesser partner in their relationship though, he's quite capable of sticking up for himself and making sure Lachlan knows he's not going to be a pushover.

Ramping up the tension as the investigation into the drugs gang increases, gives the reader a lot to focus on, and this pair of authors definitely know how to engage with the narrative flow, all things drawing to a head which sees Cooper twig that his masked vigilante and his security lover are one and the same.

I loved lots about this book, the heat is off the charts, but so too is the emotional connection which grows between both men. The glimpses into the other members of Libertine are fascinating and draw out the desire to know more.

I'm very much hoping the next book is Alessio, Lachlan's closest friend within the group, and I've a feeling it's going to be pushing even more boundaries!

I received this book from the authors via Foreword PR, I am voluntarily leaving a review

This was so much fun to read!!!

I loved the whole masked vigilante / superhero, but is he? / taking down the bad guys plot. I was hooked straight away and couldn't put it down until I was finished. There were definitely some parts that were a lot far fetched but I am expecting that to be the case throughout this series.

Lachlan and Cooper's chemistry was sooo good and I loved how they worked together. The push and pull between them was really entertaining and I love how Cooper didn't just let Lachlan call all the shots. Lachlan's protective nature over Cooper was exactly what I love to read too, and he cooks.....

I also liked the introduction to the Kings and I'm really hoping Alessio's story is soon because I am so ready for it after that tease! It was also really funny to see East and Zac, and Cooper's reactions to them had me giggling so I hope they pop up again in future.

*****

I received an ARC of this book from Brella, and this is my honest review

"He's the shadow they send to make problems disappear."

Savage is book 1 in the new Park Avenue Kings series by powerhouse writing duo Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank and I absolutely LOVED it! It's set in the same world as the Park Avenue Princes series by the same authors, and whilst there's a definite link between the two (and a cameo appearance by East and Zac in this one) pre-reading is not required (although I'd definitely recommend that series too!)

This is Lachlan and Cooper's story, with Lachlan being one of the Park Avenue Kings, an "enforcer" if you like, and Cooper is an innocent reporter on the trail of some dangerous drug dealers.

What To Expect:

🖤MM darkish romance
🖤Opposites attract
🖤Masked vigilante
🖤Secret identity
🖤Steamy times
🖤Found family
🖤Mine
🖤HEA

I absolutely inhaled it and can't wait for the next King's story in Devilish!

ARC review.

“So you’re a good guy who occasionally does bad things, but…you’ve always been good to me.”
“I’ll always be good to you.”
“Then that’s all I can ask for.”

I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! Savage is the first installment in the Park Avenue Kings series, introducing a universe the readers know well since it's a spin-off of the Park Avenue Princes.

This time, we follow Lachlan Stone and Cooper Patterson's story. Their chemistry was off the charts! Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine know how to write good relationships, that's for sure. I begin this book with a bit of apprehension. I didn't know what to really expect with the secret society thing, but the authors really hooked me from the start, especially with how the dynamic between the Kings were portrayed.

I ate the masked vigilante trope. Yeah, sorry but Lachlan was easily one of the sexiest man Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine have written. I mean, he's a security company's CEO by day and a unhinged vigilante by night, and that's enough for me to fall in love, I fear.

I love how Lachlan became obsessed with Cooper after one – not so glorious – meeting. As for Cooper, let's just say that this man had unknowingly a type, because no matter the form in which Lachlan appears, he's just as obsessed.

I can't deny that Lachlan and Cooper fell a bit too much in lust at first sight (if that's a thing), in my opinion. However, it didn't bother me that much. Even though, Cooper was attracted to Lachlan as a vigilante first, his growing feelings toward him as just Lachlan were undeniable. I strongly appreciate how there was absolutly no OM/OW action in this book, which made it even more enjoyable to me. Lachlan and Cooper were devoted to each other since the beginning.

On another note, I'd like to delve more into Cooper and Alex's friendship. The death of Cooper's friend is what caused all this mess in the first place, and Cooper was determined to solve it. However, we had no insight in what they used to be, and I expected much more details.

Overall, I think this new series looks highly promising. The Kings were all interesting, and I just hope the rest of the books will be as good as this one, especially Alessio's, because I'd like to believe he has unfinished business with a certain priest. His character intrigued me from the start, and I loved his friendship with Lachlan.

“You asked me last night what scares me,” he said, his voice gravel rough. “Not being there if you get into a bad situation… That scares me.”

First we had the Park Avenue Princes...but now get ready for the Park Avenue Kings.

There's seven of them, just like the princes. Since King already got his book with East and Zac, this series will just be about the other six kings, though.

You don't have to have read the first series this is a spin-off of, but it would be helpful. Although I didn't read the last book as it was poly and I followed this just as well. So reading about the princes isn't necessary to dive into this one, with all new characters - except for King, East and Zac, who give one a connection to the first series.

And yes, let's get it out of the way how unrealistic and a bit silly the whole premise is. These seven men, with King at the helm, are all well off, rich men in some way or another who run an underground crime fighting organization under the cover of darkness and are all badasses.

Yes, it's unrealistic, but who cares? It's good fun.

And we start this one out with Lachlan, the...idk, enforcer of the group? They're all badass, but he's like...the most badass. He's the one who mainly does the physical fighting, who sticks to the shadows but can kill a man if need be.

When a new drug that's killing more people than usual even for drugs pops up, the Kings are on it to try and track down the ringleader of the drug organization pushing this deadly drug.

But it turns out, so is Cooper, a journalist from Colorado who has come to NYC to track them down and take them out after his friend overdosed on their drugs.

But...Cooper is an ordinary citizen, and he can't truly defend himself against a group of drug dealers in an alley. But Lachlan can, and does.

He wears all black a big hoodie and a mask to, well, mask his identity, but when he saves Cooper from being shot in the head after he's discovered in the alley where a drug deal or something is going on, there's an instant connection between him and Cooper, even if Cooper can't see who Lachlan is under his mask.

After that incident, Lachlan becomes a man obsessed. He literally stalks Cooper and goes so far as to "bump into him" at Cooper's coffee shop to meet him as himself. There's an instant connection between them as himself too.

Cooper, meanwhile, thinks there's two men he has this intense connection with, meanwhile it's all one man. When Lachlan goes so far as to stalk him to his apartment, in his "vigilante" garb, mask and all, and gets caught, Cooper isn't frightening. He's intrigued, and turned on.

Real life and he'd be running for the hills when a mask man all in black stands outside his apartment window, and then also kneels above him while he's sleeping.

But we're getting a bit kinky here, and Cooper is into, so much so that he lets the masked man fuck him without him ever seeing his face. It is absolutely hot as hell.

And when Cooper comes home to his apartment ransacked, he calls Lachlan - as Lachlan, who gave him his card in the coffee shop and said he was head of a security company - to help him. And to keep Cooper safe once he realizes the drug dealers came and ransacked Cooper's apartment, he brings him to Libertine, the building and name of the kings organization, a big fancy building with a penthouse, of course.

Then, of course, Cooper begins forget about the masked man as he gets to know Lachlan, and starts to fall for him. It's a bit silly how long it took Cooper to figure things out - well, he didn't even quite do that. Lachlan, in the end, just kinda revealed it to him - just for the reveal to just be super easy and for him to be pretty cool with it, but I couldn't be mad at it in the end. Cooper just didn't really let himself think too deeply about all the signs pointing to Lachlan being the masked man.

So if you can suspend disbelief and just enjoy the ride as these two hot men fall for each other and have scorching hot sex with a side of crime to deal with, then this is the book for you.

Also don't worry - there is absolutely no sharing of the kind between these two. They're only with each other - only see each other, really - from the beginning.

If suspending disbelief isn't something you think you can do, and if you didn't much enjoy the Princes series, then this isn't for you, because it's in the same vain.

Since I loved the majority of that series and I'm just here to have a fun, hot time, I loved this. Lachlan and Cooper had amazing chemistry.

I have a feeling Alessio and the hot priest will be next...or these ladies might drag those two out for some time. It's one or the other. But Alessio and Rafael Vitale were the only two clearly set up in this one, so my guess is on them for being out next couple. Also I wonder why Alessio needs to forgiv the priest for, exactly? I'm excited to find out...

(Also if there is some hot forbidden priest action in their book...well, I'll be here for it! Let's goooo!)

Can't wait! Onto the next! 😘

Lachlan Stone is the epitome of a complex antihero—lethal, enigmatic, and fiercely loyal to his own code. He is the enigmatic and lethal Park Avenue King, a fascinating character who thrives in the shadows but is deeply human beneath his ruthless exterior. Lachlan's world is one of power and precision, but when Cooper Patterson, a tenacious journalist who won't back down, crashes into his life, everything changes.

Cooper’s relentless curiosity and unshakable determination make him the perfect foil to Lachlan’s cold, calculating demeanour.
Their connection is a slow burn that ignites into a firestorm of passion, each moment between them charged with intensity and vulnerability. Their chemistry is palpable from their first encounter, making for a fiery and irresistible connection.

The plot is a thrilling rollercoaster ride, weaving tension, intrigue, danger, and heart-pounding twists with expert precision. . The action sequences are gripping, the stakes feel real, and the romance crackles with intensity.
Lachlan and Cooper's dynamic is a perfect balance of vulnerability and strength, making their bond both believable and deeply satisfying, creating an emotional depth in a world where trust is scarce, and secrets are currency

Overall, Savage is a thrilling and emotional read, a rollercoaster ride of danger, intrigue combined with passion and vulnerability, leaving you eager for more.

I'll be eagerly waiting for the next instalment in the Park Avenue Kings, wondering who is the Devilish King.

Part of the Park Avenue Kings, and is best enjoyed when read in order:
Savage (Park Avenue Kings, #1) by Brooke Blaine Devilish (Park Avenue Kings, #2) by Ella Frank Immoral (Park Avenue Kings, #3) by Brooke Blaine Merciless (Park Avenue Kings, #4) by Ella Frank Ruthless (Park Avenue Kings, #5) by Brooke Blaine Unholy (Park Avenue Kings Book 6) by Ella Frank

Unemployed journalist Cooper is saved by masked vigilante Lachlan from a drug deal gone wrong.

“Tyrone “King” Kingston had assembled a handful of us, men he trusted, men of different backgrounds, specialties, and influence, to wield power for the greater good. Which didn’t always mean coloring within the lines. ”

So … Avengers without the superpowers assembled in New York City. They call themselves Libertine.

Lachlan is a bit obsessed with Cooper after rescuing him and orchestrates a cute/meet at a hipster cafe. The flirting and teasing , ooh these two are going to be fun.

Ooh and like super man/Clarke Kent, Batman/Bruce Wayne , we have the duology of Masked Libertine vigilante / Lachlan Stone with his Lois Lane- Cooper “Boy Scout”.

“I’d really gone off the deep end. But something about this man, this stranger, had me reaching for and embracing the dark place I’d met him in. As if I could step into the night and go a little mad.”

Cooper and his masked man indulge in some kinky sex.

Cooper now has two hot guys in his life, but doesn’t realise they are the same guy.

Lachlan and Cooper work together to find out more about the drug dealers who are selling Rapture, a drug that kills people, like Coopers friend Alex.

Whoa end of chapter 18- holy shit what a euphoric scene.

NDA’s are signed and Cooper has restricted access to the BatCave… I mean the levels of the Libertine Headquarters that houses the business centre, restaurant’s, bars, a ballroom, fitness centre, penthouses … oh yeah and the sex club.

“Beside me, Lachlan chuckled. “All right, Bambi, let’s go.”
That shook me out of my stupor. “Bambi?”
“You look like a deer caught in headlights.”

Lachlan opens up more of his world to Cooper, and is all growly, protective and Mine.

Cooper does get a sense of déjà vu but still doesn’t click about Lachlan and masked vigilante. I mean Cooper only occasionally thinks of his masked saviour and the sexy times while hiding out at Libertine.

“Lachlan screwed his nose up, and suddenly it dawned on me.
“You don’t work for others—you work for yourselves.”
I snapped my fingers and pointed at him. “You’re like a secret team of powerful guys who take down the bad guys.”

Lachlan seemed to ponder that for a moment, then said, “Let’s go with that.”

Omg so close to connecting the dots Cooper 🤦🏻‍♀️

The sex is hot between Cooper and Lachlan, they are all you are mine mine and adorable .

It’s time to go all mission impossible, Lachlan is basically dressed how he does all vigilante style and Coopers over here thinking that looks familiar … but nothing.

“Oh my God.
A smirk curled Lachlan’s lips, his eyes twinkling at me, and he shot me a wink before slipping on the mask.
“See you soon…Scout,” he said, his voice the deep, muffled one I remembered from the alley…my bedroom…all my fucking fantasies. ”

Ding ding ding! Cooper pierces it together but isn’t mad.

This book is more then me just wondering when Cooper is gonna realise who the masked vigilante is. It’s lots of action and intrigue James Bond Style , hot sexy times and chemistry between the love interests , happy ever after and side characters you know will get their own books because this is a series.

But seriously….Did I miss East’s book from the Park Avenue Princes series?

Moment of truth time – I was a little apprehensive about reading this because what on earth could live up to what we had with the Princes? I mean, they’re just outstanding and that series is one of my absolute favourites. So, by my own admission, I wasn’t expecting this to hold a torch to them….. and I as if they could hear my thoughts, Ella Frank and Brooke Blainewent ‘hold my spoon’ and threw out this absolutely amazing start to what I have no doubt will be an amazing series. I hold my hands up and admit I was wrong, SO WRONG! Because this is just… gah! Amazing.

Bearing in mind it’s a lot more mature than the Princes but that’s to be expected. These are grown men, not college age and the things they see and do go along perfectly. There’s no hiding behing the gates of Astor or Daddy, these are grown-ass men with their own lives….. and hell do they know how to live them! This also covers more mature theses too (drug-gang anyone?) but, along with the mature themes we get sooooo much more smut! And if that’s not a win then I don’t know what is!

Absolutely stunning visuals throughout, and you really can see/feel what/where they are. The pacing is perfect in it too. Nothing is rushed, nothing is dragged out and it all just fits together perfectly (although I never wanted it to end if I’m honest with you!)

Spoiler free review but Lachlan is the first King we meet and good God is he the perfect place to start! Masked-vigilante-stalker seems to be my new obsession (😉) and he and Cooper meet very early on in this… or do they? Well they do but the mask plays a big part in that meeting! But as their friendship (of sorts) with each other starts & progresses we see a more mature story start and, as it’s set in the real world and not on a College campus, real life people/buildings/surroundings etc.
Honestly? I don’t think I can praise this enough and it was so much more than I was hoping for. If the others in this series are half as good as this then I will be very VERY happy!

P.s. we also get a very quick glimpse of the other Kings that I cannot wait to read (as well as a cameo from one of the Princes)

I received an ARC of this book direct from the authors and this is my honest review

DNF around 70%. I was tempted to speed read the rest but it didn’t seem to be going anywhere. I wanted to like this so badly, but the main’s have no chemistry and the writing is clunky. If you loved her previous ParkAvenue princes series you will probably like this fine. The author has really good ideas for stories, but the writing just isn’t there. For this, It’s just sex club after sex club, with almost no plot. The club stuff is weirdly jammed in and not smexy. Not for nothing, but a story about a secret vigilante, should have some mystery- that part gets hammered out basically 10 minutes into the book.

I thought it would be like the Mafia brothers series which I adore, but it has neither the heat nor the intrigue.

For some reason I couldn’t really connect with the characters and something about the plot threw me off.
Some of my favorite parts were seeing King, East and Zac when I should have been more interested in Lachlan and Cooper.

It’s still worth a read but it’s 3.5⭐️ which is a first for Ella and Brooke imo.

There’s something about grown men calling another grown man “My king,” that gives me the ick. Made me cringe so bad.
Also bad the mask man revelation scene to Cooper was lackluster.
This might be a case of, it’s a me problem and not the book. I expected dark romance. I don’t know what this was but in my opinion it’s definitely not dark romance.

“So you’re a good guy who occasionally does bad things, but…you’ve always been good to me.”

“I’ll always be good to you.”

➻ my rating: ✩✩✩

Let me preface this review by saying that I love when Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank decide to sit and write a book together. I loved the Park Avenue Prince series. Each book was better than the last and the cast of characters as a whole had me genuinely amused. In theory, this book should have worked for me. Unfortunately, it didn’t.

Let's start with what didn’t work. There’s only one thing but it affects the entire story and what it could have been:

The characters.

This sounds really bad, but let me explain. A Journalist x Secret Society member sounds like a recipe for excellence. There’s so much built in angst and forbiddenness that comes from a setup like that and it was completely bludgeoned for a watered down concept.

Instead of Cooper being a renowned journalist on the hunt for a story about a drug taking over the streets leading to hundreds of deaths including one that hits close to home, we have Cooper, a mediocre journalist who in searching for the man behind the street drug comes into contact with a real world Batman and somehow loses agency and common sense along the way.

The other half of our duo is Lachlan (sexy name, poor execution) who runs a security company and is a member of a Secret Society we the readers got introduced to in Notorious. He was so bland for someone who should have been so spectacular. We’re told way more than we’re shown when it comes to him and the story suffers for it. Also we don’t get the reason he’s in security or the reason he joined the secret society until 80% and that alone is criminal.

What saved this story for me are the exceptionally written sex scenes EK & BB never fail when it comes to writing those and the side characters who I was more interested in then the couple this story focused on - which is terrible.

I will most definitely be continuing with the series - because of said side characters - but this entry really hurt my eyes because they deserved better.

Also sorry to anyone named Cooper, but it has to be the most wonder bread name ever to exist.

Nie była to zła książka, choć po porażce jaką był pierwszy tom serii "Park Avenue Princes" nie spodziewałam się zbyt wiele.

not for me

I didn’t hate this, but I didn’t really like it either. The first 25% was exciting. The “big reveal” of who was under the mask was very lack luster. So anticlimactic that it felt like that storyline could have been left out entirely.

One thing this book did was solidify my absolute disdain for King and the way he treats East. I literally can’t stand them together.

Ultimately I just didn’t believe Cooper and Lachlan were in love. Convenient for each other? Yes. But as much as was going on in this book, also kind of nothing was going on relationship wise.

Anyway, not for me, but I’ll keep trying because I loved all the Prince books (except for King- I just pretend East ended up with Zach).

4/5 ⭐

This was such a good start to the King series. While I did enjoy the Park Avenue Princes this series gives more suspense and dark vibes too it. Cooper and Lachlan had such amazing chemistry and the small addition of a secret identity just added to the whole vibe of the story. Getting to see a little more into the “organization” they work for was nice and I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the guys. My one and only negative is that I would’ve liked a little more of the backstory between Cooper and his friend Alex. How they met; how long they’ve been friends; maybe more on who Alex was as a person.

OMG ! I was really excited about this new series in the same universe as the Park Avenue Princes and I was not disappointed !! I devoured this book, it was just soooo good and I cannot wait to see who comes next and how they will all have their stories, it’s entertaining and thrilling.

Let’s talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time, yeah that’s Cooper. Our dear journalist is investigating a group that caused the death of many people. However, he was not ready to find himself in a dire situation and to be saved by a masked man. Lachlan was just doing some reconnaissance and could not let an innocent person get hurt. However, Lachlan does not see coming his new fond obsession with the sexy journalist who puts his nose everywhere and he will do everything to protect him even provoking the anger of the King.

That tension between Lachlan and Cooper was just perfect, I also loved the interaction between Lachlan and the other King, and especially King himself, also love some cameos !! I’m really curious about the others and some seem a little darker. I truly loved Lachlan's character and I’m just sad to have to wait this long for the next one.

I received an ARC Copy of this book from Foreword PR, this review is from my own thoughts 😍

Another phenomenal read from my two favourite authors!

Savage is the first in the Park Avenue Kings series. This is a lovely spin off from Park Avenue Princes but can be read as a complete standalone.

Savage kicks off with all new characters and well it's fair to say it goes off with a bang. There is nothing I love more than an action packed romance and this delivered!

We had drama, we had spice and best of all bromance and romance. Mix this with Brooke Blaine and Ella Franks signature addictive writing style and Savage is unputdownable.

I enjoyed it so much and am excited by the teasing for for future books. Yet if there's one thing to always remember, expect the unexpected with Brooke and Ella, as they will surprise you.

An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

I tried really hard to love this, but unfortunately it fell a bit flat for me. I still enjoyed it and finished it, I just didn’t love the MCs and I wasn’t fully invested in their relationship. For me, it is that they didn’t really talk beyond the surface level. There was a great deal of focus on how attracted they were to one another, and then that was it. And somehow they were together at the end. I also am not a fan of hidden identity when it feels as though one character is sharing his heart with two people. That’s okay if you want an MMM+ story of course, but I didn’t in this case. In my opinion, the masked vigilante aspect worked well for the plot but not for furthering their relationship. Despite these niggles, I liked the characters we were introduced to and their secret world. They’re all intriguing and I am looking forward to their stories.
