Gabriel's Lessyn
Lessyn Bradshaw had been taught very young that a man was only good for one his money. If he couldn’t provide security, then he wasn’t the man for her. However, Lessyn didn’t want that for herself. A good read. The plot twist was easily defined early into the story. I'm sorta over the deviant momma, thirsty, greedy female for money and power trope. Gabriel was my hero in this story. Lessyn second guessing nearly drove me batty. And I have nothing for a man with no backbone. Overall, this story was a good read.

3.5 ⭐️ This quote gives you a good feel for the book. “I wreck homes, pussies, and uteruses…so I’m warning you now, ain’t gon’ be no one-night stand. If I f*ck you and I like it, I’m coming back for more. Choose wisely.” Yup!

I give this book a 5 stars because of its realism. A man that was striving and successful, gets jammed up and serves time and comes home to not nearly as much as he left his “girl” with. Homeboys com through because you came through for them when you were up. This is something that happens in real life and Lessyn just spruced it up for me. I listened to the book and the audio narraters did an amazing job

A Lessyn indeed…. Ohhhh Gabe is definitely always givin Bae vibes! They were everything each other needed. The way the author describes how patiently they were with one another was absolutely beautiful. It left me full! Love vs Lust is always at the front of ya mind when it’s new. But Syn & Gabe showed that both can be true. There’s so much to say… but ion wanna spoil it fa y’all! Get into it! 💛💚💜

Lessyn learned!
This was a NTMA author and Gabriel had all the qualities that Lessyn couldn't help but fall for. While a few of the supporting characters made me want to lay hands...Karon, Dom, Skye and Payton were the type of friends and family that everyone needs in their corner!

Another hit from Ms. Dior! I truly connected with Lessyn’s struggle with people-pleasing; it had me reflecting on my own life and asking, “Who am I, really?” And don’t even get me started on her mother—she’s a case study all on her own! I can’t imagine ever treating my child that way. Now, Gabriel? He’s giving major “What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man” vibes! He handled his emotionally stunted baby mama like a pro, and definitely helped set Lessyn straight. I devoured this book in one sitting—it was that good! Can’t wait for the next installment. P.S. Loved that Kamil cameo! 😃

All I can say is for a mother to be that evil she definitely needed her karma to come quicker than it did. I like the connection between the two MC‘s and I felt like SYN was a little bit naïve and didn’t deserve the treatment that she did get, but Gabriel came in and got it right. Now the storyline of confuse me a little bit with him investigating his brother/cousin‘s death.

As my first Rose Dior novel, it was really good. The characters, the plot twists, the crazy family members...everything came full circle. I loved how new and exciting the twists became and enhanced the story. Gabe just wanted a good woman to spend the rest of his life with. And Lessyn just needed a real man that was going to put her needs first for a change. But that Mama needed her behind beat....trifling.

Gabriel’s Lessyn
I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Gabriel was a man who fiercely loved and protected those close to him whether it be physically or in supporting and encouraging their dreams. He was almost selfless to a fault to those he loved. Lessyn was a people pleaser and rarely if ever seemed to put herself first until after meeting Gabriel and one chance encounter with him had her completely reevaluating her life and decisions.
While Lessyn was confused about wanting more with Gabe initially, I could appreciate her growth throughout this book. Her mother was a trash individual and the way she tried to control Lessyn and her love life was disgusting. I can’t say I was surprised by what the mother did in the end because I predicted it with her actions, but gross! I was glad when Lessyn finally chose herself and her happiness over what her mother was trying to dictate. She deserved the love and support that she received from Gabe and I’m glad they both received their happily ever after with each other.
I loved the secondary characters in Payton, Dom, Karon and even Sky, although sometimes she was annoying with her judgmental comments. The bond that Gabe had with Dom and Karon was amazing and I loved that they were able to give him something he needed when he was barely surviving after coming home and finding his baby mama sold everything but his house, which probably only happened cause it wasn’t in her name. Tiana was a bird if I ever saw one and she was nasty toward Gabe for no reason.

Living For Yourself
First, I'd like to say that I love the pun in the title. Wow, this was a roller-coaster 3x, some type of story. Gabe and Lessyn had a hot, combustible chemistry that noone was gonna get through, not even her momma.
Gabe and Lessyn fit perfectly together. They were each's rib.
He exuded sexiness, confidence, and positive energy. He made the best of a situation until he could make changes. Gabe was protective of those he cared about and loved.
Lessyn, on the other hand, was so busy trying to please her mother that she forgot about her own self-care. With Gabe, she got a chance to experience what real love looked and felt like.
Now that mother of hers was a disgusting horrible piece of work. Her fiance, Malcolm, was scum of the earth. There are no words! Tiana, Gabe's ex was a bougie, low down little opportunistic something else. Only concerned about self! She really wanted another shot at Gabe after she found out he'd moved on, but that door was locked, and the key thrown away.
Gabe and his band of brothers, I loved their closeness, standing for each other. Payton, Lessyn's cousin, was hilarious and didn't bite her tongue. Sky, her sister, still needed some work. She was still too judgemental for me and bougie.
Gabes's daughter, Ava, was so easy to love.
Great story on finding your strength through adversity, family, and living life for you and not others. You will have to read the story to get specific details about this story. It was wild, sad, loving, and so good.

Gabriel and Lessyn's chance meeting in a liquor store was fate. Gabriel had gone through some things including a prison bid, and Syn was unhappy with her life choices following up behind her so-called mother. That first meeting caused a spark to flame inside of them. When Syn decides to live her own life, Gabriel is who she seeks out. Whew chile, the chemistry between Gabriel and Syn was off the charts. I loved the girl group and guy group friendships. They were soooo supportive of each other, especially Dominick and Karon helping Gabriel get back on his feet. There were several characters that I couldn't stand, but Malcolm and Chencia were the worst. I loved the way that Gabriel was so confident about wanting Syn from the very beginning, and I was glad when Syn got on the same page. Their relationship turned out to be the fresh start both of them needed in love and in life. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can't wait to see what's next from the author.

I love the instant connection Gabe & Syn had! To know that this was his time of rebirth following the tragedy that happened 3 years ago & he still managed to stay positive & come out on top. The pieces to the puzzle about Tae was heartbreaking but once it came together it made perfect sense. The rainbow after the storm though, DJ was truly God’s second change to them! Now, Syn at first frustrated me. She was strong one minute then almost a mute the next. I definitely saw why tho. To not know yourself, when you do come into yourself it’s very confusing. I’m glad she got a back bone but the revelation of her mother…eww 🤢 I knew she was something else but that was too too much. I enjoyed the personality of Ava. I want to dive more into Sky/Karon & Payton/Dominic. This read was well worth the wait!!! O & grandpa had me screaming!!! Lol

Another book I find myself liking because of the FMC. Over time she became a smidge better, but I didn’t like the games she was playing with the MMC. He was much more mature than her.
Most of all I felt like some aspects of the story weren’t flushed out enough. One too many plots thrown in for the sake of added drama. For example the details about what happened with Tae. It wasn’t until later that the reader is let in on what wasn’t adding up. Also, details about the MMC were random and didn’t make sense to me.
Throwing in the extra foolishness between the FMC and her mom. That was bananas, but if that the only drama- the book would’ve flowed better.
Overall, this one wasn’t for me.

This was such a beautiful love story. The journey to love was fast but beautiful nonetheless.
Gabe was literally everything he was book smart, street smart, a lover, protector, and provider. Lessyn really lucked up when their paths crossed and if you asked Gabe he would say he’s the lucky one, a win win for the both of them 🫶🏾
The mammy was straight trash like how sick (mentally) and greedy of her to betray her own child in that manner 🤮 Malcolm was a b!+ch fr.

I really liked this story. Gabriel made my list of book boyfriends to die for. Syn though she was getting on my nerves a bit with her indecisiveness, she got it together and went after her man. Syn and Sky mom ain't shit...cause when the secret revealed itself i was more shocked at the elaborate ploy against her daughter than the indiscretion. Like BIG ICK!!🤮. iykyk!

Okay, Gabe, is that guy. He is smart, handsome, sexy, loving, God-fearing, street, and all about those he loves. But don't get it twisted,he is a silent killer. Taking the wrap for his cousin/brother, losing everything, and starting can be daunting, but Gabe took it on the chin. Meeting Lessyn was a blessing and his anchor.
This a very good heartfelt story that will leave you smiling and your heart full.

I really enjoyed reading Gabriel’s Lessyn and watching their love journey unfold. Lessyn was stuck in an unhappy, unfulfilled relationship with Malcolm that her mother and his mother was trying to shove her into marriage with him. It’s mad crazy how Malcolm and Chencia were in a relationship before him and Lessyn and came up with a crazy scheme that most definitely would have destroyed Lessyn in the end. I’m glad that Gabe and Syn met and feel so deeply in love with each other. Gabe deserved real love because of how dirty Tiana did him. I love the brotherhood between Gabe, Dom, and Karon and how they looked out for Gabe. It’s sad what happened to Dontae being set up by Black and Meko but G-Lo made sure to unalive them for taking out his brother. DJ was a very nice surprise for the family in their healing journey especially when he was Dontae’s clone. I like the relationship that Syn and Ava had especially with Ava being a teenager when usually they only want their parents together. I so feel slighted that we didn’t get to know the gender of Gabe and Syn’s baby but I still love this book.

OMG!!!! This was a beautiful story. The love that Gabe and lessyn shared was crazy, but beautiful nontheless. Who knew that a chance meeting in the liquor store would lead to greatness! That momma that lessyn had to deal with was outlandish , Karma and God , showed her about playing with is children.. It was definitely a beautiful LESSYN!!!

Now Gabe... I need him NOOOWWWW!!! He checks all the boxes plus some. Had a head on his shoulder and stood 10 toes down for family. Shoot Ava, do too.
I need a follow-up on this crew. A definite must-read.

I’m going to need some coffee in couple of hours. This book was sooooooo good. Worth the wait but GO READ THIS BOOK!!! It’s was several ppl I hated in this book. But the love that the sisters found without their mom manipulating them. Gabe and Syn is love at first sight with the best happy ending.😍🥰

Wow, I just knew something was up with Lessyn &Sky mama! Never judge a book by its cover and thankfully Syn wasn't judgmental at all! Payton is that ride or die sister/cousin that everyone should have! Gabe was that dude, he did what he had to do for his family, but he was charismatic, loving, !Loyal and respectful! The family dynamics couldn't be any different, but Syn and Gave wound up together! Loved the ending!

Your expectations not his
Syn had an idea told to her what her future held but meeting Gabe changed that preconceived future. His life was thought to be already mapped out too but he had no idea there was loyal friends out there.

Yes that was a beautiful Lessyn. The only thing that bothered me was the woe is me of the FMC. I felt the confusion spilling off the page(good job by the way Rose), she was just making things harder than they needed to be. That momma got whatever she deserved with her trifling self.
