Shane Purdy is a college graduate with a Bachelors in Computer Science. At a young age he became fascinated with Fantasy books after reading the Wereworld series by Curtis Jobling, which led to a love of reading that continues to this day.

When he was younger you could almost always find him with a book in his hand (when he wasn’t busy with Band activities that is). As he got older, he started reading online webnovels as well. In June of 2021, after reading thousands of books, he decided to take the plunge and write a book of his own, starting with his first series, Dungeon from the Void.

He writes both high and low progression fantasy novels of varying genres, including Dungeon Core, LitRPG, Cultivation, Sci-Fi and more.

He does not use any sort of social media for his books other than Reddit, he has no Facebook pages, and his Facebook account is private and not public. Therefore if anyone finds public Facebook or other social media accounts outside of Reddit or Discord claiming to be him, they are fake.

This story covers a few topics and there are some pretty big reveals. The MC continues to get stronger and stronger as she must to save the universe and she does so by fighting first in the war and then by participating in the tournament. She becomes strong enough that she risks endangering the world when she tests her skills and seems to rival the demon king in power.

Overall, there is plenty of action and adventure in the story, progression of stats and skills, and fantasy. If you’ve read this far in the series I’m sure you probably enjoy it.

It goes full Dragon Ball

The Warden’s Reign is where Shane Purdy goes full Dragon Ball Z. Through battle after battle and a steady run of competitions, Scarlet grows increasingly powerful—borderline absurdly so. Whatever emotional exploration the author flirted with in the previous book is largely abandoned here. This is pure stoic forward momentum.

And you know what? I enjoyed it. The next book is supposedly the last, so now the real question is simple: let’s see what all that power actually amounts to.

Less emotionally numb

This is the most anticipated part of Scarlet's journey. I like that the book didn't focus only on the curses. There were some huge revelations, and the last cliffhanger was brutal.

Tournament

While there was the expected amount of action, my favorite aspect was the tournament. I expected the outcome, which took some of the suspense, but there were enough surprises and twists to keep me interested. Onto the final book.

Just as good

This one is just as good as his other books and the story is still going. Looking forward to seeing how it all ends.
