I was his the moment he stepped foot in my father's church. TALL....DARK and DANGEROUSLY HANDSOME.
He reeked of sex, murder and drugs.
A walking sin with secrets so deep they threatened to tear down the walls that kept me sheltered.
I didn't belong in his world, my innocence being a beacon for trouble. That didn't stop him from leading me through hell's gates and certainly didn't stop him from touching me in ways that made me care less about the flames.
He's my ruin...my monster...my dark obsession.
Dario Murruccos!
He'll paint the streets in blood to protect me, and he just might have to, because when the sins of my father come for me, I'll need him to prove why he's my Dark King!

There was a ton of drama and action in this book. Every page was filled with something that would make your eyes wide. There’s definitely gonna be more excitement in the book. If you love unhinged pastors and cartels, this is the book for you.
Oh my… it’s been a while since I’ve read a dark romance but this definitely hit the mark. This book was faced paced, filled with twists, betrayal and pure smut. What is not to enjoy? I loved the different PoVs and the absolute crazy stuff that went down. I was on the edge of my seat for some chapters genuinely thinking ‘what on earth is going to happen?!’ I think that Cat definitely needs to come out of her shell in the next book - it took her a long time to get her claws out but I hope she will have that character journey in the second book because when she started getting feisty I really liked her! We love a strong FMC and I’m excited to see that progression. Dario was just - wow. I mean he took protect and attack to the next level and only in a romance novel is his behaviour acceptable. From the start the book was exciting and it continued to keep me turning the pages. I read the whole second half on the book in one sitting !! Thoroughly enjoyed - thank you so much to the author for sending me a copy to read and review!
So, let me start by saying that the story in this book is good, really good, actually. The cliffhanger at the end leaves you wanting more.
The reason I'm only giving it a 3 star is because there are quite a few typos, things that could easily be overlooked, but do stick out. Also, the FMC is a bit inconsistent. She starts the story very sweet and innocent, a sheltered pastor's daughter, and when the MMC shows up, she just seems to shrug and roll with it far too easily.
The story is shown from many peoples POV, so sometimes it's a little hard to follow, but it always seems to come back on track.
All in all, this IS a good read, and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.
I loved this book!! There are multiple POVs with compelling dialog, and 🔥🥵scenes. Dario and Cat are crazy.. Cat is slowly finding her voice after Dario saves her and unleashed her passion. Colton realizes perhaps while trying to protect his daughter/Cat, the enemy was closer than he ever imagined. Seems Colton old life is calling 📞 him back, and wants his daughter as well. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Man, oh man! Let’s see I started this book around 10pm and finished around 3am (knowing I had to get up for work at 630). This was some page turning, attention grabbing heat! Now I will say, it took me a minute to keep the characters and backgrounds straight, but once I did?? Baby when is part two coming out!?! 10/10, I’d recommend if you like mafia style books with a possessive MCM!
Author Erica Zarrieff has readers dive into a dark cartel world, and I found that the narrative provided strong imagery throughout the story. From scene to scene, whether it was filled with action, anger, steam, or angst, Zarrieff pulled me in.
“The Cartelion” was not short on steamy scenes, as it had multiple characters. At times, I found it challenging to follow, but the story is an exciting one. It does leave on a whopper of a cliffhanger. We’ll see where these characters land next.
Holy f*ck! So many back door deals, secrets & lies. Each character has some kind of drama happening. The writing is so good, I can see it all happening.
This book is full of violence which makes sense in the Cartel. It’s a slooooow burn. In fact the main couple doesn’t even end up having sex yet. Usually I need spice within 30%-50% of the book but the plot was filled with so many twist and turns that the slow burn was done exquisitely.
if you get past the first few chapters it’s a great tale
It started off with a great chapter then slowed down to nearly a snails pace. But i pushed through it and was well rewarded. The tale of masculine energy and naivety clashes in the sexiest way starting with Cat’s 18th birthday.
I liked the stories but there was too many side people and stories going on. I couldnt get a read on what the characters looked like either, that bothered me. And did they live in mexico?
This was a new to me author and I couldn’t put this down! The multiple POV’s added to the thrill of the story but did not get lost in translation or the flow of the story. It was unhinged and messy, but throughly enjoyable.
