The complete Twisted Cross Ranch series is now available in one bingeable collection! This edition Sinner's Secret, Corruptor's Claim, and Deadly Dead.
Sinner's Secret I might be a cowboy, but I’m no gentleman.
Ten years ago I crossed the line with my younger brother’s best friend. I knew she was in love with me, and I couldn’t resist her. River Adams gave me her heart on her eighteenth birthday. I broke her in return and made her hate me. I thought walking away from her would be easy, but I never expected to come face to face with everything I gave up.
Thanks to a stipulation in my dad’s will, she’s back and we have to live together.
Me. Her. My brother Walker, who has carried a torch for her since they were kids. And, how could I forget, Bishop? The ranch hand who can’t keep his eyes off her.
The years between us may not matter anymore, but the secrets and lies always will. My family has blood on its hands, no one more so than me. If she finds out the truth about Twisted Cross Ranch she’ll never forgive me.
I was born to be the villain, but when she looks at me, I wish I could be her hero.

Plot: 5/5 • Smut: 4/5 ————> Cowboys. Special Agent. and a girl who ran away 10 years ago. What’s not to love? After being summoned back to Twisted Cross Ranch, a place River thought she’d never see again, she has to deal with the two Cross brothers and their ranch hand, Bishop. Partial enemies to lovers. Partial friends to lovers. No third act break up 😍😍 and no unexpected pregnancy 😍😍, but we do get some nice breeding kink, and a HEA. Smut was good.
This audio was 🔥. I devoured this series, the story wasn’t stellar… but the audio was what kept me listening. It was just an easy story, no depth to speak of, and a lot of spicy scenes.
This is exactly what I’m looking for when it comes to Why Choose! Let’s add in the element of dark cowboy and some mafia twists?! Yes please! River returns to cross ranch 10 years after having her heart broke, only to find that her love for Cross hasn’t diminished and she may also be in love with her childhood best friend?! Let’s add in a touch sensitive ranch handler with a dark past?! A recipe for deliciousness! This gives all the vibes of Yellowstone and some sons of anarchy with a smutty twist! River does not back down from a challenge and I love that about her! There’s some wild twists and turns, had me holding onto the reigns tightly! And the audio?! PHENOMENAL!!!
Tropes: Why Choose Dark cowboy romance Yellowstone vibes Dark pasts Hidden marriage Second Chances And a TON of banter!!
4 ⭐️ Loved this one. I wasn’t really sure if it was guna be for me but who doesn’t love a cowboy x2 and make them brothers plus the added ranch hand - yes please.
River took no shit and I loved that about her. I always love the different personalities in an RH and this author made them all loveable in their own rights. Cross - was the douchebag but he’s loved her forever. Walker - was the golden retriever who again has loved her since they were wee. Then there was sterling… river jus knew what he needed give his PTSD and they were just perfect for each other. Like I said.. loved it. 😊
Most times I wish Audible would give us a little more info on the books they offer. In this instance even the blurb on Amazon didn’t really give me an accurate description of what to expect from this series. Although it does suggest you check the author’s website for a full list of content and trigger warnings. For fans of Yellowstone, USA Today Bestselling Authors K. Loraine & Meg Anne bring you a new dark cowboy mafia series. Red-hot, gritty, suspenseful, and loaded with angst, Twisted Cross Ranch is the escape you didn’t know you needed. Hang on tight, darlin’, these ain’t your mama’s cowboys. I enjoy sexy contemporary romances but not erotica where the story just seems to be something to put between kinky sex scenes. While this series does contain a decently engrossing suspense story and even some romance (sort of) the sexual exploits of the characters just aren’t my cup of tea. The authors did a yeoman’s job of trying to make love and sex between three men and one woman seem beautiful. But it just didn’t work for me. If you’re into reverse harem erotica (which I’m not) with a heroine (River Adams) with a seemingly insatiable sex drive, no inhibitions and open to just about every kink I can think of, and three very morally gray, alpha males, (brothers Daniel and Walker Cross and ex SEAL Sterling Bishop) who are strangely willing to share her rather than make her chose between them because she’s just so damn irresistible and they love her so much they just want to make her happy, you might just love this series. I didn’t. I really like contemporary romances in a western setting. I really enjoy contemporary romances with an element of suspense. And I really enjoy beautiful lusty heroines. But as much as I enjoy sexy times in my romances, I don’t want to read about the female protagonist getting double or triple penetrated or blowing three guys one right after the other. Call me a prude I guess. And while I don’t see the world in just back and white I don’t see running drugs and guns as a morally gray area. Again, if these aren’t issues for you along with quite a bit of violence, go ahead and enjoy this series.
River left home ten years ago, after the boy she thought she loved broke her heart the day after her eighteenth birthday. Having sworn never to return, that choice is taken away from her when her friends’ father passes away, and the will cannot be read without her presence. She reluctantly returns to the ranch, only to be forced to face the man who broke her, and find out that she is now the majority owner of the ranch and everything it holds.
Cross knew that forcing River to walk away all those years ago was the best thing for her, but little did he know what her return would mean for him, or his younger brother. Determined to keep her at arms length, he will go at any length to make sure that she still hates him.
Walker has been in love with his best friend since they were children, but years ago he stepped away to give his brother a chance, only for him to have driven River away, and have her disappear from his life completely. Now that she’s back, and forced to live under the same roof, he won’t let his chance pass again.
Bishop has been working on the ranch for over a year now, but when River makes an appearance, he is drawn to her in a way that he can’t explain. Having survived unexplainable trauma in the past, he doesn’t let anyone get close, except her.
This trilogy was a wild ride (pun intended). I started book 1 as a free audiobook, and wasn’t even halfway through when I decided to purchase the full series. With twists and turns and secrets from the past coming to light, this was way more than just a cowboy romance.
Stumbled across this via the comments in a TT video and thought I'd give it a go. Someone recommended the audio, and I do love an audiobook. The Southern accents in this were amazing and definitely added to the story for me, I'm so glad I audiobooked it. It's on KU too. It is perfect for fans of cowboy romance, morally grey men and those who like dark, but not too dark, reads. There is plenty of suspense and plot twists - one had me shouting out loud in shock, and I was definitely on the edge of my seat with nerves at points. And the MMCs - no wonder River couldn't choose between them. Cross, her childhood crush who she was in love with and lost her virginity to, his brother Walker, her childhood bestie who is all grown up, handsome and soft for her, then Sterling Bishop, the ranch hand who is actually undercover to investigate the dodgy dealings that go on at Twisted Cross Ranch.
WHAT TO EXPECT: ✔️ Suspense ✔️ Cowboy Mafia Vibes ✔️ Angst ✔️ Forced Proximity ✔️ Why Choose ✔️ Enemies to Lovers

If you are looking for a cowboy romance with mafia vibes and “why choose” element to the love interests, then the Twisted Cross Ranch will be right up your alley. Twists, turns, angst, and enemies-to-lovers second-chance keep the plot interesting. This is an omnibus edition of the series, combining books 1-3 into a single novel. River returns to her hometown years after getting her heart broken and leaving, only to be forced to return for a funeral and reading of the will that she has been named in.
Each of the MMCs brought different personalities to the storyline: Cross (Mr. Grumpy), who is always trying to protect those he cares about; he is also responsible for breaking River’s heart and driving her away. Walker (Mr. Flirty) was River’s best friend and had always had a secret crush on her for as long as he could remember. Bishop (Mr. Protective) is a retired military vet with PTSD and an aversion to touch. I think he was my favourite.
I enjoyed all the twists and turns of this trilogy, and I appreciated them all being in this single book. I highly recommend the audiobook, which I listened to while reading along. Duet-style audiobooks are my favourite, and having multiple narrators bring each character to life was the icing on the cake. I am giving a rating of 4.5 / 5 stars.
I have never listened to a Cowboy story but this was really good. And even though its not completely a Mate games story its related and Asher makes an appearance. ❤️ I really like the way it's all brought together! Hopefully we will see more of everyone in the upcoming Lucifer book. 🙏 So River has a history with Twisted Cross ranch and after 10 years of being separated she makes her way back to them and is forced to stay for 365 days. She falls back in love and is separated by a Russian monster who wants her all to himself. It is a reverse harem but not too graphic as in other books. These are apparently human men who need to learn to share, rather than supernaturals. I loved it! I like this writing style, there is miscommunication occasionally but it is mended quickly and I like that... I can't be waiting a book for people to like each other and forgive etc. later its not for me and I like that these guys : Cross, Walker and Bishop knew what they wanted. 😊
Outstanding audio!!! Yes, smutty (RH), but also great plot. This series belongs in the Yellowstone world, and gives nods to it by using and crediting a few Dutton character quotes. If you liked the Dutton world and would enjoy more of it, here it is. It didn't try to be Dutton Ranch, but maybe a neighbor.
These are new authors to me, and I loved this series, but it appears that the bulk of their work is not in genres that I follow. If they did more in the romance, mafia, or western genre, I'd definitely be interested.
Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, Aaron Shedlock, and J.F. Harding were all outstanding in this audio! This is a great demonstration of the difference between a reader and a voice actor. The voice of Walker, the younger brother made me think of Matthew McConaughey several times. Listen for it.
4.5 ⭐️ 3 🌶 If you are a Yellowstone series fan, or love a romance filled with cowboys, plot twists, suspense, tension, angst and some spice, then add this one to your tbr!! This series had me gripped from the first page, and it did not let go. The story line is so well written, and the character development of all the MCs is beautifully done. The series takes you on a journey of healing from trauma, unsolved mysteries from a decade earlier, twists and turns, banter that has you laughing, and all the feels that have you swooning, smiling, holding your breath, and the occasional sweaty palm or two. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great series. 😍 Please check the trigger warnings before reading.
Dark Romance, why chose, AND cowboys?? Sign me up. This was the complete series all in one. River was sassy and took no crap from anyone. Cross was all seriousness and very dry personality. Walker was hilarious. I enjoyed his banter. And bishop was truly the icing on the cake! I enjoyed this. It was. Nice spin on a “dark mafia type romance”. Justice for bear. I’m still not over that. I was too stunned to speak.
3 ⭐️’s ~ I liked this, but didn’t love it. I love a good why choose and a lot of the tropes in these books. And I think some people will eat them up. I just tend to enjoy books with a bit more slow burn. Having a girl who is so magical that instantly every man is obsessed with her bores me a little.
I’m so glad I downloaded the full trilogy so I could read it all at once. I read the whole thing in 4 days (would have been 3 but a girl has to sleep..!)
Haven’t read such a tense, super spicy reverse harem in a long time. I really hope the authors write more books on this theme
4.25⭐️ - This was a good audiobook, I devoured it. The narrators are top tier! Cross’s dirty mouth..🥵 I wouldn’t say this is a typical “cowboy” book but it didn’t disappoint. Lots of plot twists and spice. It’s why choose - but done right and has some good banter. This is 3 books in one and each book starts where the last book finishes. Definitely recommend the audiobook for this one.
Spoiler alert do not read the bonus content or you will be disappointed. I hate cliffhangers! The series allows you to imagine an end. The bonus content will have you asking when the next book is coming out.
This was a fun read! It's definitely heavy on the romance tropes, and yellowstone vibes but if that's what you're in the mood for, it delivers. An entertaining RH with plenty of angst, chemistry, and drama that kept me turning the pages.
What’s not to love? Twisted Cross Ranch delivers a highly addictive blend of cowboys, secret agents, second chances, sharp banter, and emotional depth—all wrapped up in one convenient omnibus edition.
The story follows River, who returns to her hometown years after having her heart broken, only to be pulled back into old wounds and unfinished business when she’s named in a will after a funeral. From there, the plot takes off with twists, turns, angst, and an engaging enemies‑to‑lovers, second‑chance romance that keeps things moving at a strong pace. Each of the MMCs brings a distinct personality that adds depth and balance to the story:
Cross (Grumpy pants) is fiercely protective and emotionally guarded—1st love Walker (Sweet, playful, flirty) is River’s longtime best friend, charming and loyal, with feelings he’s kept hidden for years. Bishop (silent bodyguard), a retired military vet dealing with PTSD and an aversion to touch. He was my favorite, just because he had the most growth.
If you enjoy cowboy romance with mafia vibes and a why choose dynamic, this series will be right up your alley. The tension, emotional stakes, and character development stay engaging throughout.
I especially loved the audiobook experience. I listened while reading along, and the duet‑style narration with multiple voice actors brought each character to life beautifully—it truly elevated the story. As a bonus, there are fun tie‑ins to the authors’ The Mate Games series, which had me genuinely giddy when they popped up.
Overall: A fun, emotional, and twisty cowboy romance that’s made even better in audio. Highly recommended, especially if you love strong characters, second chances, and found‑family vibes.
5⭐️ for Audiobook perfection. Also, there was a plot, so yay for that! TBH I could have just listened to Walker saying ‘Darlin’ over and over and still given it 5⭐️ he was my favorite for sure.
