Dang! I love reading about Alcatraz and really am interested in ghost stories BUT this book didn't really focus on either. I hate it when I fall for a false sensational title.
The story was kind of interesting but the effort to make a full length book out of a non full length tale.
To be fair, the writing was pretty good, if somewhat dramatic at times. "The sky looked like a battlefield wound.its outer perimeter presented as a dark bruise shifting from an opaque purple to vague gray while hemorrhaging rain" it's actually really descriptive.
