His Muse

Rate this book
I left Valleyfield to chase my dreams, and I caught them—big time. Bestselling author, notorious heartbreaker, living the high life. Coming back to my hometown was never part of the plan. But here I am, trying to shake off this damn writer's block and maybe—just maybe—find some inspiration.

Then I see her.

Rilya Byers. My best friend’s kid sister. And damn… she’s all grown up now. The free spirited girl I used to know is gone, and in her place is a guarded woman with curves that make my hands itch.

The chemistry between us is as explosive as ever. It’s impossible to ignore—or resist.

But Rilya’s keeping something from me.

Turns out, her daughter is mine.

Now, my playboy days are history. I want the whole damn package—the family, the white picket fence, and most of all, her. But getting Rilya to trust me after all these years? That’s gonna take work.

I’ve hurt her before, but this time, I’m not letting go. I’ll prove to her I’m the man she and our daughter deserve. Whatever it takes.

I enjoyed this story of Rilya and Conrad. A one night encounter ends with a secret. Conrad returns home hoping to get his writing mojo back and runs into Rilya at a birthday party. Each are offered a condo to stay in but don't realize it's occupied by each other. Decisions are made and the fun begins. Sunny is the light of both adults. Bonds start to be formed by all , secrets are overheard., lives are turned upside down and family bonds are tested. I love how Sunny says whatever she's thinking and acts just like Conrad. I SO LOVED how Rilya handled Jean-Louise #pricelss . I'm glad this ended how it did.

***ARC Review***
Every single time I get a notification that a Niomie Roland ARC has hit my inbox, I’m geeked & it feels like Christmas! Lol😆 This is because I know each and every time, she’s gonna deliver! She absolutely did with this book. I was heavily invested in Rilya & Conrad’s story. I was engaged from the very beginning and that momentum stayed the entire book. Each character was well developed and I loved the cameos of previous characters from other books.
It was a very heartfelt, emotional read. Like each of her books, it put me through all the feels—there was excitement, glee, annoyance, anger, sadness, and peace. The spice was great, too. 😆 10/10 highly recommend.

The was a great read. The chemistry and interaction between the MCs was on point. I loved the evolution of Connor’s character from a fBoy to forever man. Rilya was a bit annoying and I’ve got say her reasoning was eh, 🧐. I know the “secret” was used to move the story along but at some point it was overdone. Especially when it was so obvious. Both characters were too smart and developed to be that oblivious. That was my main critique. I loved them as a couple, I will also say I loved the banter of the peanut gallery but not as much as I normally do. Ms. Niomie’s books are always fun, emotional, entertaining roller coasters. Haven’t found one I didn’t like or wouldn’t recommend 🤞

Fabulous Read

It wouldn’t let me click on Sherri & Silas story which I truly wanted to read, but I need to know the name of the book in order to get it. Conrad & Rilya story was good there little girl Sunny made me smile loved that her full name was Sunshine that’s truly something different. I didn’t know my grandmothers name til after I had grandchildren other wise I would have ask one of my children to use her name. I enjoy this story and I especially loved when Conrad and Rilya was busy making love and that had an unwelcome guest, now that was too funny but good.

Thats a no for me, couldn't finish the book. Every chapter I thought she will tell him now, at this point they are in a relationship declaring love, but no, so disappointed with this line of secret baby without any justification and more after having thousands of opportunities to make it right? I wont be continuing this series.

Muse

Old and new. An old hook up brings a new gift he didn't know he needed. A one night stand turns out to be quite the muse he's been searching for and more.

Loved it!!

The drama, family dynamics, the past trauma, and ex-drama made for an exciting read. Kudos the the author. I can't wait to read the other characters stories.☺
