Explore what the Bible says about who God is, what He does, and what He promises in this Bible study, which is a continuation of the author's 2022 title, Promised Rest: Finding Peace in God's Presence. Through Scripture, reflection, and personal stories, readers will consider the names and traits of God. Knowing the names of God reminds us of who He is and gives us confidence in His promises to us. Readers will be encouraged to focus on the gifts God gives us in worship through Word and Sacrament. Each chapter will focus on a different biblical name of God. Through devotional-style writing, Bible accounts, and Scripture, Promised Hope: Finding Peace in God's Faithfulness will lead readers to see how God is always at work in their lives. This study will guide women through eight weeks divided into five daily readings that incorporate Bible study questions to answer, topics to reflect on, and Scripture passages to contemplate.
Michelle Diercks is a speaker, Podcast host, Bible teacher, and Women’s Ministry Retreat Leader. She is the author of Promised Rest: Finding Peace in God’s Presence.
Michelle specializes in helping women find peace in God's promises, even through the uncertainties of life. And as the host of the Peace in His Presence Podcast, she's been recognized as one of the Top 50 Mom Podcasters by Podcast Magazine, three years in a row.
She lives on a farm in Eastern Iowa with her husband and their two sons. She loves the outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family. Michelle loves to savor deep and meaningful conversations with friends and loved ones.
Michelle transports the reader back to Biblical times to see God's faithfulness displayed over His people time and time again, affirming why today we can be certain in our hope in Him and His promises. She reminds us that we are His beloved children, redeemed and forever His. What hope we have in our Lord and Savior!
Wow! Promised Hope is just what I’ve needed. I sat down, wrapped in my warmest blanket and was immediately enveloped by the message of hope from this book. It’s easy to get caught up in the heartaches and worries of life. Promised Hope reminds us that God, in all his Ways and names, is with us in the wait. He pours out His Grace and mercy on us. Michelle has a way of drawing you into her personal stories, connecting her thoughts, fears and experiences with those we all have. With each page, she connects us back to the scriptures that show us that our hope is found in His strength and commitment to us. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who needs a reminder of the promised hope given to us by God. This book is the cozy hug you need on a tough day. It will also make an excellent study to do with a small group.
Not all Bible study books are created equal. This is an excellent example of what a devotional study should be. With a heavy reliance on Scripture, a clear understanding of God's mercy and grace, and the wisdom that comes from life experience, Michelle points her readers to the source of all true hope, peace, and rest. If you enjoy women's Bible studies but crave substance and want a book that sends you straight to the Bible every single day, this is the book for you.
Promised Hope would be perfect for a small group study. Each day consists of a short reading, references to Scripture passages, and each week has a list of group discussion questions.
If you need to hear the Gospel clearly delivered to you through God's Word every single day (hint - everyone needs this!) and you enjoy a conversational, "chat over coffee" tone, this study may be just the thing.

Thank you to Michelle and CPH for an early review copy.
I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy of Promised Hope. Michelle offers a refreshing and heartfelt exploration of hope and God’s faithfulness, writing in a style that feels as if she’s having a heart-to-heart with a friend. Like her first book, her tone is intimate and warm, making the book feel like a personal conversation rather than a formal Bible study. Michelle eloquently explains various characteristics or actions of God, hope, and faith. What makes this book so approachable is Michelle’s ability to make theological concepts relatable. Her explanations are thoughtful yet simple, guiding the reader to understand that hope in the Lord is not a passive wish, but an active, confident belief grounded in His Word. The beauty of Promised Hope lies in its message of assurance. It reminds us that, no matter what our circumstances may look like, we can trust in the promises of God. This kind of hope isn’t based on what we can see or understand in the moment, but on the unchanging truth of Scripture. Michelle’s writing is filled with this unwavering confidence in God’s faithfulness, which ultimately brings peace and joy to the reader. Promised Hope is a wonderfully encouraging read. Each chapter includes personal reflection questions and discussion questions, perfect for group or personal use. It’s not just a book to read but one to reflect on—its messages linger long after the final page.
Once again, in her gentle, kind and personable way, Michelle Diercks pens a Bible study for real women: women who struggle, women who doubt, women who fear, women who grieve, women who question what it means to be both a sinner and a saint loved by God. In Promised Hope: Finding Peace in God's Faithfulness, Michelle builds upon the message she shared in Promised Hope's precursor, Promised Rest: Finding Peace in God's Presence. Reading both books is like listening to Michelle's podcast (Peace in His Presence): but whether in a book or a podcast or sitting across from the author sipping coffee and eating something delicious (as I have been blessed to do in real life), the experience is the same. Michelle shares relatable wisdom from the perspective of someone who has faced real and serious life challenges and been sustained through them by the only One who can carry any of us through the storm: our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Now she shares those experiences and the wisdom gained through them, along with the training and theological insight that comes from being a commissioned minister, in book form for the edification and blessing of anyone who reads. You may not be able to sit with Michelle in person, but to sit with her in words is the next best thing. You'll be glad you did.
Promised Hope is an inspiring and uplifting study that explores the unshakable promises of God found throughout Scripture. With a perfect blend of theological depth and personal reflection, this study offers readers a deeper understanding of God's faithfulness and the hope He provides in every season of life.
Michelle has written a beautifully structured study, with each chapter focusing on different promises. She thoughtfully incorporates relatable stories, practical applications, and insightful questions that encourage readers to reflect on their own spiritual journey.
What stands out most is the encouraging tone and accessibility of this book. Whether you're new to Bible study or a seasoned believer, this book offers fresh insights and encouragement that will deepen your faith and trust in God's plan.
Promised Hope is a must-read for anyone seeking to anchor their heart in the hope and assurance found in God's Word. It’s a beautiful reminder that God's promises never fail.
"Promised Hope" by Michelle Diercks is absolutely transformative! Michelle’s ability to weave Scripture, real-life examples, and the rich meanings behind Hebrew and Greek words makes every page come alive. Her relatable style and personal reflections make it feel like you’re learning alongside a dear friend.

From the inviting cover and title to Michelle saying, "Welcome, friend", I felt I was sitting across from her in an honest conversation about her doubts and fears. Her very personal stories are linked to eight of God's names. She brings in Bible stories to relate the honest truth about God's faithfulness to His people. There are Bible verses to memorize, weekly prayers, journaling, and illustrations to color all focusing on God's name for the week. This devotional can be used as a self-study or with a small group. This book is a stunning follow-up to Michelle's 1st book, and dives into 8 more names of God. The cover of the book is beautiful, but drawing closer to God through this study is even more beautiful. We know that God calls us by name, and now we can call Him by name as well, deepening our personal relationship with Him.
This book would particularly resonate with readers seeking to deepen their prayer life or those going through challenging times who need reassurance of God's faithful character. It's also valuable for those interested in biblical studies who want to understand the rich meanings behind God's names in scripture.
Grab a copy today and study it alone, or with a group of friends. You'll be blessed that you did.
In a culture that emphasizes a reliance on ourselves and recommends self-help books as an answer to solve all problems, I found Promised Hope to be incredibly comforting. Michelle reminds us that all God's promises find their "yes" in Jesus, our one true hope. This is a devotional that weaves personal narrative with Scriptural study to illustrate eight names/characteristics of God. As someone who enjoys coloring, I appreciate the visual illustration for each name includes at the beginning of each section. There are also reflection exercises at the end of each "chapter" for those who like to journal for further engagement. Promised Hope can be used for individual enrichment or studied as a group.
Promised Hope is an answer to today's challenges. Michelle will grab your attention in the introduction as she shares very scary health situations and how God walked her through that. Michelle's writing style is as though she is talking with a friend. She masterfully weaves Biblical truths and stories with her own personal life stories thus making compelling reading. How she ended the book was very important to her. The last thought she leaves the reader with is "Hope roars" - words we so desperately need to hear in these days. Promised Hope will be a blessing to you!
Promised Hope: Finding Peace in God's Faithfulness is a wonderful, uplifting book and a great follow-up to Michelle's debut book Promised Rest. Each chapter focuses on a different name or aspect of God and includes personal reflection activities. Michelle weaves personal stories and insightful questions into each chapter. This book is perfect for a small group Bible study or on your own. I got a sneak peek and am very excited to share this book with my Bible study group.
Promised Hope draws you into a closer relationship with God by knowing His names. It brought me to a number of pause moments. I intentionally reread a number of sections because of the desire to know God more intimately.
Michelle shares her God moments in a delightful and relational perspective that keeps you grounded in scripture.
I am looking forward to revisiting the study with my small group in January.
This book has been a blessing! I have heard Michelle speak at a retreat, and while reading this, I felt like she was reading to me.
Every chapter I read filled me with the hope, hope for so many things. God spoke to me where I was and what I needed to hear with each chapter! That was a gift.
You will be blessed by this entire book - the names of God, the journaling, the coloring sections...it all is a blessing!
Promised Hope is a beautifully written book to encourage us all through life experiences and biblical stories. Through teaching the 5 Rs of reflection, the attributes of God and thought provoking questions, the author inspires a deeper connection with God. This book reminded me of who God is and His power and Love for us all. It truly reignited my faith and Hope in God.
Michelle has “done it again” with her easy style and way of sharing. The new names of God she chose help me to understand even more who God is and who I am in His eyes. I appreciate digging into God’s word for greater understanding. Enjoy!
I had the honor to read an advanced copy of Promised Hope. It came at a time I was struggling with some sad anniversaries that I was grieving. It reminded me of the Hope that God promises each us.
Michelle takes her own personal struggles and shares with her readers the wonderful promises that come from our loving and caring God. She shares the different names of God who is always with us in whatever struggles we are facing. to give the reader hope where they are.
Michelle's witness of faith is so conversational, it makes the reader feel like friends sharing time over a cup of coffee.
Promised Hope is beautiful inside and out! From the lovely cover to the poignant stories Michelle shares, this study delivers how God’s names are present in His character and promises. We can depend on Him and receive hope no matter our circumstances. I highly recommend this study!
Michelle's writing is so personable. The stories that she shares from her own life demonstrate God's faithfulness and brought to mind stories from my own life where God has been faithful. Learning God's names and what they mean helps me to know Him better. In order to believe what God says, we need to know who He Is. Michelle's study and sharing of who God is has helped me to believe on a deeper level and to trust even more in His faithfulness. This would be a great book to do in a ladies Bible study.
