I was sceptical about this Windblade mini-series. The character of Windblade is the result of a poll in which Transformers fans were able to design their own Transformer template based on a bunch of pre-selected traits.

Introducing another Fembot into the IDW continuity was always going to be tricky after the retconned origins of IDW Arcee. But it works. We haven't really had a full explanation as to why there are suddenly more fembots, but it's been hinted at.

I absolutely love the art style in Windblade #1 - it's somewhere between the normal style of RiD/MTMTE ongoings, but with a bit of Animated/Prime thrown into the mix. It works very well. It's the first Transformers comic I've read in ages where I've actually thought that the art was the highlight. Which is not to take away from the writing at all - it's top notch.

I'm very excited to see where this series goes.

Umm more robot women, please??? I just think Chromia and Windblade are very cute together and maybe should be in love and the art is very pretty and the narration is very engaging and anyone learning that starscream is not the worst leader cybertron has had but definitely not a good one is a fun time 👉👈

The story follows Windblade's adventures on Cybertron as the Cityspeaker for the Titan Metroplex. Cybertron has just come off the wars and its piece is relatively new, but trouble is already arising and to top it off, the elected leader, Starscream is up to something.

The story is engaging and captivating and leaves you wanting more answers. What lies in store for Cybertron, what is Windblade's agneda and more importantly, what is Starscream up to? We know we can't trust a Decepticon. The art doesn't disappoint and the Transformers always make a great story. This saga is definitely worth following.

Transformers Windblade, is a comic book showing the struggles after the Great Cybertron wars. Windblade is a young transformer who is the only one on Cybertron who can talk to Metroplex one of the last titans of Cybertron. She places duty and loyalty as her highest calling. Metroplex seems to be dying, losing power and having black outs. Windblade has to face many enemies some she never expected. She has to struggle to survive and continue talking for the titans of Cybertron. She is opposed to the power struggle between StarScream and the remaining Autobots on Cybertron.

I tried to not judge Windblade when I first saw her design. I did anyway. Was I right to not like her? Yes.

Anyway, the comic seemed to be...hmm. It was a good read but I feel like they completely rushed over the introduction to Windblade's character. I kept thinking "What the hell, did I miss something at the end of Dark Cybertron? Did they really explain who she is and whatnot?" Other than the whole 'I'm a city speaker' thing I had no idea where she came from. (Before Metroplex anyway). Maybe that's just me but for not having been on Cybertron she sure thinks she can run the place!
