Damn, these two characters are HOT HOT HOT.
This novella follows Merrick & Wren. Merrick is a new comer in this small town. He was grumpy and a little bit of an alpha hole at the beginning because that was what he was used to coming from NY. Wren is our sassy, take no shit from anyone girl who tells Merrick "Just because you have a dick doesn't mean you have to be one." I mean slow claps all around for a girl who stands up for the people and place she loves.
Merrick was drawn to Wren, but his number one rule was to not mess with anyone you work with....well he was willing to break that rule for Wren. Their banter and chemistry was off the charts. Merrick had a VERY dirty mouth and loved to use it. Now that Merrick knew what it was like to live in this small town in Montana and fall in love with Wren he was not going to let anyone stand in his way of leaving including his dad.
I loved that Merrick stood up for himself with his dad, even though it was scary for him. His love for Wren stretches miles and he knew she was endgame.

The perfect length novella for an afternoon escape. I love Wren; she is sassy, sexy, and a spitfire. But she is attracted to her boss, and that is forbidden. Can they not act on the attraction? We know how well a “temporary” thing goes. These two belong together. The banter, is perfection.

As a fan of this author, I grabbed this one, and settled in. This is one of several stories in the Seasons in Montana collection, and I hope to read more soon.
Merrick is miserable managing his family’s spa in Montana. The mess, which his brother created and should be fixing. In a grumpy mood, he starts to meticulously examine the spa’s finances.
Wren’s client base and contributions are valuable assets to this location. She couldn’t tolerate Merrick’s grumpiness and decided to call him out on it. A chain reaction begins, escalating from hostility to steamy attraction.
The plot flowed smoothly, and I found all the characters relatable. While a few surprises popped up, the story progressed as I hoped it would. I recommend both this story and this author. When you’re done, I recommend exploring this author’s other works—they’re all wonderfully engaging and entertaining.

Alexandra always brings us home with her characters and this new novella is no different. Wren and Merrick are so hot, the spice within these hundred pages is insane. If you’ve been keeping up with all of the books in her world, we’ve been patiently waiting to find out who the new owner/boss is after Erika sold her Montana business. Well, we found him and he hails straight out of New York.
I’ve never been to New York, but if the men there are as bossy as everyone makes them out to be, maybe I should have gone sometime in my past single life. Everyone loves a good challenge, including Wren. Wren fights for her people, and her town to make sure that this newcomer (and hot one at that) doesn’t trample all over everything and everyone they love in their small town.
I was able to finish this one in a day, which hasn’t been the case for most of my reads (including novellas) lately. So if you’re up for a steamy quick read with two strong main characters, pick this one up!

One day Merrick brush’s off the employees and Wren is the first to call him on his rudeness. Merrick is impressed by her willingness to go to bat against her boss and he’s also extremely attracted to her.
The more time they spend together, the more Merrick wonders what it would be like to set down roots and have something to come home to. But when the spa is running smoothly and his dad suggests it time for him to move on to the next assignment, will he be able to find out what it could be like?
This novella had everything you need, emotion, spice and finding your HEA! I really love the Sterling family and I can’t wait for more !

Merrick is tasked with an unwanted job, going to Montana and getting his family’s new business acquisition squared, up and running smoothly. He doesn’t want to be there, but someone catches his attention; maybe he wants to break his no fraternization policy now.
Wren is distraught by the new boss, he’s rude, cold and doesn’t fit in the small town she loves. She gives him hell from the start, and they have very heated discussions about everything.
Wren and Merrick give new meaning to banter and heated conversations. Because they just light up every time they are near. It’s so fun and entertaining to watch how they develop their relationship. I do wish it would have been longer, but the spice was on point as was the drama. Love these characters!

I have yet to read an Alexandra Hale book that I did not absolutely love. The dynamic between Wren and Merrick right from the beginning was perfect. He's grumpy and doesn't want to be in Montana and Wren will not accept him being disrespectful. These two balance each other in the best ways. I truly love the family that a Wren has and the instant acceptance they give to the situation. I loved the banter and back and forth these two had. The lengths that Merrick would have gone to for Wren was amazing. I truly hope to get more of this family!

A feisty brunette with sass and attitude sticks up for her mates ,her co-workers and all but has a little compassion for her new boss Merrick Ellis and his ails as well…He’s royally told off but he is the one in charge and he reminds her later when they’re alone once more ,well it’s better than showing her the door. But on her good deed in tidying the place . He does his own and acquiesces the next day , he buys the goodies and snappy .. But not all his employees are happy. “It was brought to my attention that I was an ass yesterday,and I’d like to apologise. I have a severe allergy to strawberries and it’s been a long time since I’ve had to share that .” “ I’m so sorry, I—“ “ I should have communicated it better yesterday.” Well Astrid the lady who organised it all ,wasn’t to know ,the way it would go . And at least Merrick the boss got to meet Wren Sterling who was all sass and fire ,could this be instant desire? He hails from Montana where business is run as a tight ship but he soon learns that this crowd work better with friendship of a kind . He’s not lost it altogether,not lost his mind. Wren the massage therapist at the Spa he’s now taken over in Wintervale, Montana is a wrecking ball of fire and spice and if you can’t say anything nice ,don’t say anything at all comes to mind. He’s here thanks to his brother who can’t stay out of bother! But he’s out of his mind with her and she does so make his loins stir. What of her? She’s smitten too . Their chemistry is off the charts good and the banter is whoo-great but he has a rule that he must instate. He doesn’t mess with the help…Yelp! She drives him to distraction,with the physical reactions his body is giving out but he’s fallen hook-line and sinker of that there’s no doubt . Could they sync together in perfect harmony or does dear old daddy and the business get in the way. Does he go or does he stay? Would she follow him anyway? The answers to these questions and more can be found in this awesome book by Alexandra Hale or gives us perfection every single book she delights us with without fail. Brilliant writing ,excellent characters and amazing storytelling that is compelling as heck . Can’t wait to find out what is coming up next by this fine author . Whose storylines always have a lot to offer.

I was honoured to receive this advance copy of this book and this is my honest review
Wren Sterling 26yrs certainly lives up to her nickname Hellcat that Merritt Ellis gives her when Wren storms into his office on numerous occasions shouting that he was an idiot. Even though he's a grouchy jerk it doesn't detract that he is a SERIOUSLY hot grouchy jerk!
During the day one of Wren's friends took time to organise a surprise welcome party for Merritt. But when he shouted at all the staff to clean it up after. Wren went after him and had a
shouting match of her own only to discover that Merritt has a very severe food allergy which he spotted in the room. This was when they both subconsciously offer a very small olive branch, for Merritt this meant having to be vulnerable to everyone by apologising and explaining why he acted the way he did.
If this book wasn't amazing enough, Alexandra does the conversation with Wren and Beau. The meaning behind this really touched me as a reader as I thought it was something we all should do, but as it's so simple we wouldn't think to do this. 💜
There are 2 quotes (had to pick tame ones!! 😉) I loved from this book are.....
I meet her at the bottom step of the porch and nod toward the door. “After you.”“You’ve already had me pinned to the wall; I don’t think you’re much of a gentleman tonight.”
“Guess you can be a gentleman.”“You have about three seconds until I’m not.

Congratulations to Alexandra for this book. I read this book in a day normally it takes me about 3 days, this alone proves how good this is. Another way I always know it's going to be a good book is when you can imagine yourself being there amongst all the characters.

Dani's Thoughts: I LOVED Merrick and Wren. Alexandra is truly the queen of the novella, making you feel all the feels and fall in love with the characters in under 200 pages. I honestly could have read an entire book with these two characters, because I was not ready to be done with them. The chemistry between Wren and Merrick was so hot and made for the best banter. The way their walls began crumbling once they finally gave in to their attraction was beautiful to watch unfold. I would have loved to see more of Merrick with Wren's family, learning how a family really could, and should, be. Wren's family was amazing and I have loved getting to know them throughout the novellas in this series.

He’s her boss. She’s his Hellcat. Together they make for one very hot, feisty and steamy book with all the wonderful characters of Wintervale adding to its charm. Merrick Ellis has reluctantly just arrived in Wintervale to take the place of his no-good brother who should be running their new business here in Wintervale while Merrick was set to be in Colorado. But as he takes over ownership of Mountain Side Salon and Spa, scanning his new employees, his eyes land on Wren Sterling. He’s finding he can’t resist the pull towards her and that skeptical eye she’s giving him and later when she barges into his office and tells him exactly what she thinks, he’s lost it and decided he’s going to be breaking all his rules. Yes, Wren is the little sister to the Sterling brothers and a firecracker all on her own but she can’t fight the attraction she has for her new hot, arrogant boss while coworker Holly, previous owner’s daughter, has decided to make Merrick hers and undermine Wren’s plans too causing all kinds of chaos.
I loved the interactions between Merrick and Wren; her feisty no fear attitude towards her boss and his response to it was delightful. One of the best parts of the book were his texts to her, showing he valued her opinion, her ideas, her body….he valued her both mentally and physically. I always love the teasing and loving advice from Reid, Pen, her brothers and even Harlan in this one. Another Alexandra Hale steamy treat that kept my attention from cover to cover.

I absolutely loved Wren & Merrick! This might be a short book but do not let that fool you! There is the perfect amount of plot, banter, angsty moments and spice oh how we can not forget the spice in this book!
Merrick was the perfect match for Wren. Wren is feisty/sassy and stands up for those she loves and doesn’t back down easily which Merrick has first hand experience with. Merrick is grumpy and broody. His mannerisms from New York do not go over well in Montana and he learns that very quickly from Wren.
These two! The banter was bantering and the tension was tensioning with these two! When these two finally give in it is 🥵🔥. The mouths on both of them were 😮💨. Merrick has so much love to give he just has never had anyone to give it to until Wren.
I also loved the found family aspect in this. Merrick comes from a very work first family where Wren comes from more of a family first family and when Merrick opens up to her family they welcome him with open arms and show him what it’s like to have a close and supportive family.
I can not wait for the next book!

Please read the other books that are connected to this series first x
God I loved that Wren got such a fab Man as Merrick and story for her book. She has been featured in the other books and so deserved the Happy Ending that she ended up with.
Now, it wasn't plain sailing of course.
It was never going to be when that little Spitfire is concerned. Merrick as her Boss had to fight his attraction from the beginning. He was landed into the Position because his Brother had to go to Rehab and it was a place he never wanted to be.
Merrick had a lot to sort when he arrived and when Wren approached him about her proposal to improve the Spa he turned her down flat as he had other things to resolve first. That got her back up and of course she was convinced that she Hated him and that the feelings were mutual. This turned out to not be the case.
Before they both got to the point of not fighting their feelings, there were a lot of Obstacles in their way, Holly, the bane of Wren's work life being a big part of it. Merrick had to also deal with Family drama along the way.

God I loved that Wren got such a fab Man as Merrick and story for her book. She has been featured in the other books and so deserved the Happy Ending that she ended up with.
Now, it wasn't plain sailing of course.
It was never going to be when that little Spitfire is concerned. Merrick as her Boss had to fight his attraction from the beginning. He was landed into the Position because his Brother had to go to Rehab and it was a place he never wanted to be.
Merrick had a lot to sort when he arrived and when Wren approached him about her proposal to improve the Spa he turned her down flat as he had other things to resolve first. That got her back up and of course she was convinced that she Hated him and that the feelings were mutual. This turned out to not be the case.
Before they both got to the point of not fighting their feelings, there were a lot of Obstacles in their way, Holly, the bane of Wren's work life being a big part of it. Merrick had to also deal with Family drama along the way.
I won't say anymore but believe me when I say that this couple will give you all the Feels. You are going to love this book!

I am so soft for the Sterlings, it's not even funny! Every time they appear in a book, it makes my heart happy. They're such a dynamic, protective family, and I love the relationships they all have with each other. I will absolutely never get tired of reading about the Sterlings in any capacity.
Despite not being the main character, I was completely taken in by Beau's cameo. His "Let's go for a ride, Harlan" made me a puddle of mush. He's so protective of his siblings, and getting to see that with each book is something special. He's fast becoming my favourite character across the board, and I'm so happy for him and Indie both (once they get their happy ending too)!
And, of course, Wren is an absolute gem. She deserves the world, and watching her wrangle Merrick was far more entertaining than it had any right to be 😂 that man had no idea what he was getting into. Her casual threat to burn his life down if he messed with her was beautiful. THE POWER! Who doesn't love a strong, powerful woman??
This was another great read by Alexandra, and if she's not on your must-read list, you're really missing out!

I love an Alexandra novella, I was looking forward to this story and I am glad to say that it was exactly what I was looking for!
This follows Merrick and Wren. Merrick has just taken ownership of a spa in Montana and Wren is one of the massage therapists. Merrick is used to big city ways of managing businesses and that does not translate to small town Montana and Wren is all too happy to let him know 😏

There were some really sweet moments and a little bit of conflict and I’m not sure how Alexandra was able to do all that in such a short book. I would’ve happily read another 100 pages of these two, I couldn’t get enough!

This novella is full of passion, tension, manipulation, misunderstanding, family (both good and bad), forgiveness and understanding. Merrick and Wren are on opposite sides, though by choice rather than design, as the story gets started. He's a fish out of water, not having been prepared to land in the Montana town. Wren is determined to take him down a peg, whether for his actions or his effect on her remains to be seen. It's the presence and interference of a troublesome employee, Holly, that keeps the tension in the office ratcheted to the max. How long will it be until tensions finally break, and what will be the result?
This is a wonderfully written story woven in with the Sterling family Saga (Wren is the only daughter). Let yourself get swept up in the drama and passion, and lose yourself in in their world (if only for a little while).

Wren has been a favorite Sterling for me and I am so happy with how her story went. Merrick is a perfect match for her because he lets her own her feisty side. I mean he calls her Hellcat!
Merrick, gosh that sweet man deserves the love of a good woman and her crazy, huge family. He has never known that kind of love and closeness so I say who better to show him than Wren and her family.
I mean she does teach him life isn’t really all work and no play!
Alexandra Hale is an author I never even have to consider what the story is about, I am just going to read it. I love the way she packs so much into a novella yet the story is never choppy, it just flows eloquently. She even gave some nice little teasers of an upcoming couple and I cannot wait for their story!

A killer novella with a super sexy vibe! It’s forbidden boss/employee where the attraction is way too strong to say no, the action between the sheets is way better and so much more than they planned, and temporary goes right out the window for Merrick because there is no way he’s giving up Wren. There’s a fantastic smoldering heat right from the start, love that they both know they shouldn’t but they have to explore the chemistry and connection they have because it’s literally that good and that irresistible, Merrick is all the right kinds of grumpy sexy and Wren is a fiery, mouthy, adorable character who gets all kinds of extra high marks from me for knowing exactly what she wants in bed and out and having zero problems telling Merrick at any and all opportunities. A highly enjoyable quick read.

Small town, sweet and swoony reads are some of my favorite go to’s. They’re my comfort reads, the books I pick up when I need to reset. They never fail to lighten my mood and cure any reading slumps I have. This novella was no different. I loved how Wren flipped Merrick’s world upside down. She was everything he didn’t know he wanted and needed. She’s the kind of girl that takes no shit and tells it how it is. He’s the kind of guy that will challenge you at every turn. They’re fire and ice but my goodness does the chemistry explode. Seeing little appearances from past characters was super fun too. I always love when the stories start to overlap and you get even more of the picture than before.

Alexandra has done it again! I just can not get enough of her small town novellas! The way she is able to pack so much into a shorter read makes me so happy!
I loved Merrick and Wren. He was a grump and cold towards everyone. With a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
Wren had the best spirit! She was passionate, strong, sassy and had the biggest heart. I loved when she stood up for herself and other, and wasn’t afraid to call Merrick out!
Merrick had no intention of staying in this small town and was not happy to be at Wintervale in the first place, but boy did this man fall fast and hard for Wren and the town and all it had to offer.
These two were drawn together beautifully. They couldn’t stay away, and even though it forbidden and started off a little at odds. Their chemistry is so high and spicy, but how they grew closer over their time together was so sweet.
I really enjoyed this one, the writing, storyline and characters. This was a great quick read! I am immediately jumping into Wren’s brothers book!

Wren and Merrick are just so much fun to read. This little novella gives you a feisty heroine that knows her worth and refuses to allow this new owner to come in and be a total jerk to her co-workers who all work hard at their jobs in the spa. Everyone seems afraid to speak their mind, but not Wren. Merrick doesn’t know what to do with her and as they have the best push and pull, we watch Wren break down all the walls that Merrick keeps up to stay aloft. It is watching as they give in to the chemistry that takes over a room when they are together and how they navigate this new territory for both of them. Now this is part of a novella series and honestly they are SO much fun to read so if you haven’t read them take the time to make that happen because they are worth every single second!

There’s been some buildup in Alexandra’s other books about the spa where Wren works being sold, and how she felt like her new boss was a total jerk. Wren and her new boss, Merrick, definitely don’t get off on the right foot. He comes across as cold and standoffish, and when the staff tries to make him feel welcome, he immediately shuts it down.
As the story unfolds, we learn a lot more about Merrick and why he acts the way he does. Wren and Merrick have chemistry from the moment they meet, but Merrick has a strict “no fraternizing with staff” rule. Will he stick to his rules, or is Wren the one he’s willing to risk everything for?

This story flowed perfectly. I couldn’t put it down. Alexandra can write a novella like no one else. She gives you all you need but with such wonderful characters you want more. I never get bored of her leading couples, side characters, and families.
