This box set includes the first three books of the Olivia Lawson Techno-Shaman series, in one convenient and discounted price!

Shaman, Healer, Heretic (Book 1)

Even for a techno-shaman, a kachina in the bedroom isn't exactly part of the drill. When Olivia Lawson wakes to find one towering over her, she panics. A Hopi god visiting the real world isn't just wrong-it's impossible.

Or is it?

Soon Olivia learns that the kachina is the least of her worries. As she struggles to save her clients, clashes with other shamans, and fends off the attacks of real-world vigilantes, Olivia finds herself in the destructive path of a malevolent ancient force intent on leaving the spiritual realm to conquer this one.

Left with few options, Olivia is forced to defy centuries of shaman prohibitions. As she and her allies risk everything in their bid for survival, Olivia ultimately learns that the rules are there for a reason and that breaking them has a terrible cost.

Shaman, Friend, Enemy (Book 2)

Patients with fractured souls, clients threatened by deadly ancestor spirits, and now the paparazzi–it’s all in a day’s work for techno-shaman Olivia Lawson. Livvy has rocketed to the top of the shaman world, bringing old friends with her but also attracting new enemies.

Even as her career soars, her personal life spirals downward. Broken bonds of love finally force her to confront the terrible secret of her beginning in shamanism. Despite being attacked by dark shamans and navigating a spiritual plane that seems out of control, Livvy’s single-minded quest steers her into dangerous territory and puts her on a collision course with those dearest to her.

No longer interested in walking a fine line, Livvy discovers that–when the one thing you need is the one thing you can’t have–you’ll risk everything.

Shaman, Sister, Sorceress (Book 3)

If techno-shaman Olivia Lawson thinks a trip to the Hopi mesas is the escape she needs, she is gravely mistaken. Abducted from her tour, Livvy quickly discovers that all is not as it seems in the quiet villages.

Formidable shamans draw her into a bitter and centuries-old conflict. While Livvy struggles to do what’s right, she can’t help but pursue an unexpected chance to be with the man she loves.

But as prophecies turn deadly, even the gods of the multiverse play their part and Livvy must choose–between this world and a new one, between action and acceptance, between duty and desire. With all existence hanging in the balance, Livvy finds that, where choice begins, innocence ends.

Hi, I’m Terry.

Personally: My husband and I live in Los Angeles and we’ve both lived in California all our lives. The only way I can summarize my personal life succinctly is to tell you that we stopped being two separate people decades ago. Our natural and usual state is happy, upbeat, and quiet.

Professionally: I write full-time and have for the last several years. My non-fiction, under a different name to dispel confusion, has been published by Simon & Schuster and Penguin and my articles have appeared in the NY Times and Cosmopolitan, among others. I have a Ph.D. in archaeology but a B.S. in physics.

Sardonically: Writing about yourself in the third person would be a great way to create an exemplary bio, but that’s not why I’m here. Although I’m healthy, the number of days that I have left to live is finite (real mortality estimate). With that in mind, I’m considering how best to use those days–and I am writing.

No one can read just one ;-)

I downloaded the first book for free from a daily BookBub alert, because who can resist checking out a new series for free? I was pleasantly surprised by what I found when I finally read it. As other reviewers have stated, both writing and storytelling get better with each installment. Perhaps it's my ignorance of what's already been done, but the idea of mixing technology and Shamanism was a fascinating combination for me.
I'm no Shaman, but I have read countless nonfiction and educational books on many types of mysticism and ancient religious practices. These books mix in just enough pieces of actual Shamanic practices to lend authenticity to the story. Obviously without having known any true Shamans I can't say with authority that what I've learned over the years is accurate. But it's clear the author did their homework for this series. In our world of Hollywood "interpretations" of any religion besides Christianity, that is a big deal for me. I have grown quite weary of the negative exploitation of old religions that seem to appear almost daily :-).

Aside from that, the series is imaginative and engrossing with a diverse and likeable cast of characters as well as creative environments. Overall a great series and absolutely recommended. I rarely like a book so much that I end up purchasing the whole series. This was an exception, I bought the whole series after reading just the first book., and I was not disappointed!

I didn't even bother with wasting my time. Going by a friend's opinion with whom I share books, this is poorly written and has mostly a ghost theme. Also written in the third person making impersonal and weak characters.

The writing gets better with each book. A novel technical approach to fantasy. Characters keep growing and getting more rounded. Book 3 especially has a unique setting on the Hopi Reservation.
